Today's episode discusses an excerpt from Midrash Rabbah, Beresheet, 17. “There is a story about a Hassid [one who belongs to the Hassidut movement] who was married to a woman but they could not have children. They said, ‘We are not helping the Creator whatsoever.’ He divorced her and married a wicked woman who made him wicked, while she [the former wife] married a wicked man and made him [her new husband] righteous. It follows that everything is from the woman.”

A follower writes to us: I feel such tragedy, such things happen in the world, and for me, it’s all someone else's pain, and that’s how everyone I know, feels, and I know that is the reason for all the problems. How can I make it so that the other person’s problem is mine? I see that the main questions about happiness, about how not to worry, how to arrange your life correctly? 80% of these questions come from women, will a women ever be really happy in this world? • In China, a 10-year-old boy, became a bone marrow donor, for his sick mother that has leukemia. The boy donated blood 30 times, he underwent 7 injections of a special drug, and he says,“I don’t feel any special pain during the last injection I got because I feel that I am saving my mom.” On the one hand it sounds like a simple story, on the other hand, where does this depth come from, this understanding of what is the meaning of life, saving the life of another at the age of 10? • A follower writes: You explain the law of the Torah, that all problems come from, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. • A well-known parable about our nature: Once there was a poor man who had a rich neighbor. The poor man prayed to the Creator, I want to be as rich as he is. The Creator said, Please, I’ll give you everything. Only I will give him double, you will be rich, he will become twice as rich, you’ll have a house, he will have two. Than the poor man said, then poke out one of my eyes so that two of his will be poked out. Humanity invented many such slogans.

The UN report says that there are more than 150 million women starving than men, and in general, 60% of the starving people in the world are women. What astonished me the most, is that tens of millions of women around the world eat last and least. Suddenly they are in the spotlights, women. We always give an example of a women and a baby as an example of bestowal in our world. Can you comment a bit about women in this regard. • It’s always difficult to make a critical decision. Luckily or not, the Miss Universe pageant will be held this year in the Israeli city of Eilat. For the first time it is coming to Israel. It has been going on for more than 60 years, but lately it is not really at the heart of the consensus, even though there are 600 million viewers. Some complain that this pageant causes people to relate to women as objects, which is already passé, and it should be canceled. On the other hand, it has several supporters. Should we hold beauty pageants or should we cancel them? It won't help to forcefully cancel it but adding education will make a difference. We know that about ourselves, the extent to which we are attracted to external beauty and appearances. The upper force implants this ability in us. Therefore, it is necessary to give each and every one of us, as well as to all of us together, a specific education, one of greater values. Even though external beauty is appealing, we should be attracted to inner beauty. Education should encourage us to want to discover and belong to such inner beauty. What is inner beauty? It is bestowal, love, and a broad heart. Anyone who can make room within to accept others and help them has inner beauty. Looking at the Bible, one finds many descriptions of female beauty and how women are pretty and beautiful. Ever wonder why was it so urgent for the writers of the Bible to instill in us the concept that a woman has to be gorgeous and perfect? It is because a woman is the parallel of the general desire of the world. Our entire world is a desire and the woman is the center of the desire. Thus, each of us has to correct the woman within. That desire within is the measure by which we are drawn to help others and to connect everyone into one big desire which is entirely about mutual bestowal. Any person, regardless of their gender, has both the male and female foundation in them. The female force exists in every part of creation, which is the desire that the person has to direct toward love, giving, and the broadening of the heart. That desire, however, is broken to begin with. Everything starts the other way around: I think about myself, I love myself, and I care for myself. In other words, there is the female force within us that is not that pretty, so to speak, and we have to beautify it. Just imagine: What would our world be like if each of us could find this inner woman within and invert it from an ugly creature that thinks only about itself to one with an open and loving heart? You can bet that the world would become more beautiful. That is how we will become: with an open heart and wanting to connect to everyone and for everyone to be connected to each other. Beauty is giving, love, and bestowal. Beauty is that which comes from a person to the benefit of others.
