Excerpts from the sources: “Work with Faith Above Reason”, #63

1. Rav’s Introduction: We need to get a little deeper into the work in faith above reason, so let us try and understand that our work is taking place on both sides, we receive the good force and the bad force from the same source, the Creator. So let us relate equally both to the good and the bad force that come from Him, through these two forces, He wishes to arrange us in the middle line by which we can come directly to Him. With one force, we know from our world, we cannot reach anything. There have to be two discernments, light and darkness, plus and minus, a thing and its opposite, as we say. Hence, those who wish to advance correctly towards the goal, the good and bad force have to be equal. He receives them from the Creator, he relates equally to both. The important thing for him is to be adhered to the source of these two forces. That is how we advance, then we reveal Him, understand Him, feel Him, and unite with Him. Hence, we see it, in many verses, you have day and you have night, and the darkness will shine as light. Ultimately, we have to reach a state where, all the time, our attitude towards bad and good will be equal. As two equals and not that one is bad and one is good, rather both are used to bring us to the Creator, to adhesion. Hence, both are equal and the bad is even more so because we will see that is how we are built, from the outset, in this tiny egoistic will to receive. So, the evil, the bad helps us aim ourselves correctly towards the Creator. Therefore, let us enter these verses and see how helpful they are in shaping our view on creation, in a healthy way, serious way. We will see that everything that comes to us comes from that source, and all that comes was created so that we would reach directly and as quickly as possible to the purpose of adhesion.

63. Rabash, Assorted Notes. Article 68, “The Order of the Work”

When one believes in the delight and pleasure that exists in above reason, he comes to consciously feel, to know the evil within him. That is, he believes that the Creator imparts such delight and pleasure, and although he sees all the good above reason, he achieves recognition. That is, he feels in all the organs the power of the evil that is found in receiving for oneself, which prevents him from receiving the abundance.

It follows that faith above reason causes him to feel his enemy within reason—who obstructs him from reaching the good. This is his standard. That is, to the extent that he believes in the delight and pleasure above reason, to that extent he can come to feel the recognition of evil.

Later, sensing the bad yields the sensation of delight and pleasure, since the recognition of evil in the sensation of the organs causes him to correct the bad.

This is done primarily through prayer, when he asks the Creator to give everything in bestowal, called Dvekut [adhesion]. Through these Kelim [vessels], the goal will be revealed in open Providence, meaning that there will be no need for the concealment because there will already be Kelim that are able to receive.

2. R. Here we can see, a small opening to reach the real reality, if the disconnect from the current reality and the wish to imagine everything coming from a single source, from the good that does good and I wish to adhere to Him and then I try to do this constantly, be in the good force which works in reality and from the degree, from that level, from the observation point I begin to locate, detect the evil force which does not let me see the influence of the good force in the world. Only then I can identify the bad and I can also decide this is purposeful bad, is bad video does not let me feel that the Creator is governing the world as good who does good and this way I advance and I wish to arrange my view this way.  Then more and more I connect to the good creator and the evil force which appears which I see as help against which helps me reveal the Creator even more as the good force and this is how I advance, I advance on the right, always on the right. By taking my point of advancement as being connected to the Creator who is in good all those good, none else besides Him that's how I wish to see everything in the world and everything I see in reality both in me and around me, I see them as not good, incorrect, not suitable for the Providence of God who does good it is only because the Creator purposefully is doing these things to me. So despite of what I see they have eyes but they cannot see I try in those states, in those places, in those instances to bring specifically the force of the Creator to be revealed over all the negative evil forces which he himself reveal to me so I can forcefully bring Him to rule over the evil negative forces

3. S. (9:06) How to prevent the ego from making none else besides Him a Klipa, so we don't feel some egotistic guilt because we hurt someone, how do we not dismiss the others?

R. I see the others in my perception. I see the others until I ascribe everything to the Creator as it seemingly exists outside of me. That's why I have to arrange my right attitude to others. We are not yet in the state where I feel the world as one man. As a kind of fantasy, as if we may find ourselves in an illusion already. We have to ask according to our own reality. I still don't understand the question. 

S. To rephrase the question, how do we keep the ego from making None Else Besides Him a Klipa, if we feel that we hurt others?

R. That's why, first of all we organize and arrange all the reality as being all the Creator's reality and He is good who does good. There is none else besides Him, showing us the picture of the end of correction, except the evil things that we see and these evil things that we see, we have to detect before us. We have to say that this is my ego doing these things for me and those things where the Creator arranged my ego, the black spots in reality and have to bring Him forcefully to rule over it.. To ask Him and it is how, gradually, we reveal the correction. I begin from the starting assumption that the world is all good and then I see the world and I see that it is 99% bad. It is so I have to bring all those states under the authority of the Creator. This is our work, but we start from grasping Him, holding on to Him and I want to see all the good for He is controlling over reality. When it seems that the Creator is not the authority, these egoistic patches, I ask for the correction. Even though it is still not faith above reason it is along the way.

4. S. (13:47) What is the prayer that Rabash refers to, that he will get everything in bestowal?

R. When we will feel that not everything is inside none else besides Him, but we detect these states that seemingly not the Creator controls, but the ego, and I feel it since I cannot justify creation, I can't agree with creation. It turns out that I ask the Creator to show me that there is none else besides Him, that I want Him to control all this picture which I see in reality.

5. S. (15:08) How to reach a state where it is felt in all the organs because in the mind, in the feelings, it is there, but it is not painful to the point of prayer?

R. Exercises only, this is what I tried to explain in what way we can do the exercises in order to determine that we are in faith above reason with there is none else besides Him.

6. S. (15:47) It is written that the standard is feeling this bad as the sensation of delight and pleasure because it's through this we can do corrections. What do we add here when we are above the Machsom?

R. After the Machsom, I don't want to speak about what happens after the Machsom, I want to talk about what happens here.

S. It is not a fantasy, but it seems to me that this is our work, this is a spiritual work we are doing now, so what is in front of us to do?

R. In front of us is to determine that there is none else besides Him, and all the thoughts and instances, negative or bad I feel, we need to also ascribe them to the Creator, none else besides Him. We have to come to such a form, relating everything to the higher force, that we live in it, we feel that this is how it is, that one single force is governing everything and according. As to the negative forces which we see, we also try to establish them and connect them to the higher force, since He is showing us these negative instances, because through them He awakens us to be more in adhesion with Him and to justify the higher Providence in two lines.

S. Kabbalists explained that the Machsom is like a psychological barrier, there it is like the difference between day and light but then we are reading these excerpts and when we relate to the work in the ten it seems that we are already in the spiritual work.

R. We have no connection to the Machsom right now, it is the boundary, the cross to faith above reason, we do not have the point yet.

7. S. (20:01) What does it mean to submit to the revealing evil and good pleasures?

R. I subjugate my ego which is not letting me see that everything is run by a single force, that there are no two forces, not even my own force, rather everything is the Creator, to the extent I can imagine reality or depict reality this way I see that it is the Creator, only one force is working and I'm included in it together with the friends who are helping, the group everything that is happening. This is what we talked about, this is I need to reach, we want to determine that there is none else besides him and he is good who is acting good, so all the negative things that appear only so I can clarify and discover that they are bringing me closer to the Creator, otherwise they wouldn't awaken, there is no bad in the world, there is no bad they only show me how to advance to the Creator.

8. S. (21:57) I got to reach the sensation that the Creator truly rules the picture?

R. We start from that each and every day so when we come to the lesson we have to aim ourselves so when we wake up from sleep I rise, I need to establish myself, arrange myself correctly in reality, I am in a world where a single force is working, how does it influence me, what does it want from me, how does it confuse me to arrange me more correctly with each passing day in a more realistic way, in a more real state.  I feel that He is doing these exercises with me like we do exercises with little children to help them grow correctly, and I feel that this is what the Creator is doing to me on one hand relates to me with love on the other hand he plays me with various feelings, negative influences, so I would arrange myself correctly.  First of all it is all coming from the Creator from the good who does good, in order to aim me at the correct purpose of life, to bring me to the good who does good, and also how I can realize it implement it by seeing how reality is made, so I could use it correctly, and in it I could discover the single for single force, upper force.  Gradually this is the form of scrutiny in which we have to do each day starting anew, and what I did yesterday will not help me today, as if I succeeded yesterday, today I raise myself to a higher degree where there are more powerful, harsher forces and I have to work with them unifying them both good and bad.

S. So there is a certain moment when there is a Masach above everything because today it seems that we are just plugging some holes somewhere?

R. From the work we are doing we can feel more and more means to arrange these things correctly, but it is all going to be from experience, from your experience not like something just falls on your head from above, but going through the states you will feel how to correctly arrange your attitude to reality.  Where you describe the perfect reality as it exists between you and the Creator and if you describe the whole reality to Him alone then this reality will disappear and the only thing that remains is the Creator.

9. S. (25:35) You said that there is none else besides Him and the two forces disappear if I heard correctly you said that there is none else besides him and there are no two forces any longer?

R. No, the fact that you ascribe the two forces, right and left, light and darkness,  to one source didn't delete the 2 forces, you still have two forces, there is no good or bad, but both work to bring you to the source.

S. Is this a method of attainment or we have to embrace this line of thought?

R. Attainment is not exactly as we feel it right now, attainment comes through emotional vessels which we arrange correctly as a result of the adhesion with the Creator, the adhesion gives us the attainment.

10. S. (26:38) To reach the work above reason in the ten is clear, but how to use the world outside of the ten for that work?

R. Gradually when we have corrected the ten with the help of the Creator in the correct connection between you and from the connection between you, also the beginning of the connection with the Creator, then we begin to expand accordingly.  But this is not really right now as this is not yet our reality, besides that we haven't attained the discernments of faith above reason yet, we have to enter this and detect it. Faith above reason starts when we ascribe everything that happens to us to the Creator alone, only to the Creator, this is how everything starts, and then the left line appears which is called reason and we have to constantly raise the force of faith, ascribe ourselves to the Creator more and more, and this is how we are building faith above reason.

11. S. (28:25) Why is gratitude so important and necessary in our world especially relating everything to the Creator, why is gratitude important?

R. Gratitude comes as an eruption from the heart not like something we are forcing, acting but true gratitude is a feeling which we have in the heart for the Creator, it could be towards the friends or to the group or the Creator, it's not that you're obligated to do it it's a result of your good deeds and gratitude then simply breaks out from the good feeling to us then through to the friends or to the Creator.  It is not that you are obligated to do it, it is a result of the good deeds, when we begin to recognize what He is doing to us then this gratitude comes to us and we are not forcing ourselves to do it, it is a result, it is not like we are writing in our daily journal that today from 10 till 11, I will have the feelings of gratitude.

12. S. (29:55) If the friend feels that from day to day he is going further away from the right form, how does he begin to ask how to start the day in a way that if I am not for myself then who?

R. The fact that each day we start as dead, like animals, it is natural because it's truly the beginning of the new degree, so when I wake up it is like a new birth.  I told you the story about Rabash how he was getting up in the morning like that, he goes to the bathroom, washes his hands, his face, sits down at the table and he drinks a bit of coffee, and he said he felt that nothing was happening, like a piece of meat.  You don't know the state from where the great Kabbalists start their degree, he just sits there he is not looking at anything, can't see anything and I am reading next to him, I begin to read.  Then slowly slowly, gradually he wakes up, his eyes open, the body starts to make certain movements, he feels the life entering, so the man that was in the grave before how he's coming out.  He begins to feel creation as if existing in the middle of all the worlds, and this was truly difficult for him, it was a great effort but that's for a very high degrees, as we learn about the students of Rabbi Shimon, they gathered for the lesson in states where they wanted to kill each other, so why are you talking about your things, ok relative to you degree there's also something but just wait what will come later, we need to reveal everything from the darkness.  So there is no point complaining about it but look for the means that can help you when you wake up in the morning or during the day when you are disconnected from the path, how to bring yourself quickly back on track.  Maybe read the songs or verse which you prepared in advance before you go to bed, so this way find those means, nothing is more effective than the group.  Use the group then you connect to each other and the awaken each other, someone in the group should be responsible, take turns and he needs to raise everyone like in the army like a sergeant talks to you for a few seconds, you have to wake up like soldiers to the work of the Creator and then towards to the purpose of creation try this.

S. Let's say that friends don't let themselves come close to each other, like sending messages through the phone because it is a different part of the friends life?

R. I don't know what you're talking about, different parts, different life, I don't know I don't know this, you are British so you need to do everything with gloves on, I don't know with certain etiquette that you have to feel some distance from each other.  You can't come closer than 2 meters from the virus point of view that I understand, but maybe something else that doesn't let you.  There is no such thing as in spiritually you have to become one man with one heart and so then we speak about such conditions as if it is accepted or not accepted in your society, I don't want to hear about it.  We have a different codex, there are several conditions for nearing which are very different until there is no more distance between us, of course emotionally not physically.  I would feel the others as if living in my heart, look at what Rabash is writing about it how he writes when he writes from abroad, that there is no distance between us and the outstretched land which separates is does not exist and I feel the friends standing in my heart and I'm happy about it and I rejoice about this nearing, about this feeling, so if you can't establish such conditions because it is not customary then you are not even on the pass with as if you say so.

13. S. (36:38) How can we interpret all the things that you requested of me and the friends to carry out gathering of friends?

R. Simply agree with everyone, I think the problem is that you're not connected enough, you are not speaking enough, you have to talk less but on point and not just around it.  On point means that when we feel ourselves as felt in one heart, the heart understands, both according to the understanding and feeling, we have to feel ourselves in a single desire. One single desire to such an extent that we don't even need to speak to each other everything is clear to us, and the goal, the state I understand the friends  they understand me, we are in a single state, what separates us in all those things, that we feel that they still separate us, they are all just physical things and they will all disappear, the spirituality is such that we have to be in one feeling in a single desire.

14. S. (38:38) How do we know when they made a true ascent which is not just an illusion which the ego is showing to us?

R. If you yearn to feel the whole reality something that is governed by the Creator that is good who does good, above all the bad things that you feel and you understand that it is all because you are not arranging the relationship between you properly, and your relationship to the Creator, then you are working correctly.  If you go above it and you need to connect even more and even more with the Creator and connect even more, come to know even more that there is none else besides Him, and you have to feel it through the world that there is only a good force, there is no evil, nothing is really bad, to the extent this is of course the ideal form, that this is the direction, this is the direction towards we have to come close to.

S. With every ascent there is an experience as if failure?

R. I don't understand why it should be a failure, I tell you again first of all the have to arrange the relation to the Creator as to the good who acts as good, who runs the whole reality, who is arranging everything that's why we are in a good state, the world is entirely good. Although we can't see it yet, they have eyes but they cannot see, but now we will see it compared to the good state, if you feel it, all of it in bestowal and love then what things we are seeing as opposite and we have to ask the Creator to correct our vessels of reception so we can see everything as good, since everything depends on Him, all the evil He is arranging for us so we could ask in return to arrange everything is good, there is nothing beyond that so try to reach this.

15. S. (41:16) It is written that it turns out that the faith above reason causes one to feel within reason his enemy, how to explain that the work in faith above reason causes something within reason?

R. As much as I tried to raise myself to faith above reason into the degree of the spiritual world, and that I discover how much all the physical information is holding me from reaching adhesion with the Creator, faith above reason is the level of Bina, bestowal coming out of myself to the others, to the Creator, the evil incubation is revealed, but it is not something physical but the evil inclination is revealed as something preventing me from reaching Bina from Malchut.

16. S. (42:41) When we come to love of others then the shame disappears?

R. Then the shame becomes honor.

17. S. (43:03) When we get to cope with the ego it becomes more and more difficult, how can we act if the ego tells us to escape from the friends?

R. Then run away, you want my advice then run away, if you're asking such questions then it's better if you run away and don't ask anything else, you are saying what should I do if each time my ego tells me to run away so if you're asking like that as if you don't hear what we are talking learning about.

18. S. (44:07) When we see the others' suffering, I need to justify and say that everything is corrections?

R. Of course, everything is correction, and it is your correction, you see the world, you are seeing your own qualities, your belly, you see your own guts, you see it on the outside of you, your entire will to receive is what you see all over the world. You see how your will to receive is still evil, and then you look at it and say, oh, I need to reach a state when I see the whole world at the end of correction, this is the meaning of correcting myself? This is how we have to look around, is this possible? Can it be so? The Kabbalists are saying yes it is possible, until you reveal the good world all of it as good, and there is none is besides Him who is living in this perfect world, so start working, the way we are talking about it.

19. S. (45:36) How to awaken the spirit of the ten and the upper reality in the morning lesson?

R. Wake up one hour before the lesson and do it, I do not know how to do it for you, I'm using different means.  I used to tell you how Rabash woke up, how difficult it was for him, then he went to walk before the lesson 1 or 2 km on foot, drinking coffee, thinking, reading, singing, yes he was sitting like that and he was singing various different melodies from Baal HaSulam or his own, which can move him, which can awaken the heart.  Because when the person wakes up his heart is just a piece of rusty engine, then you have to have a connection to the unnatural spiritual feelings, this is a problem and then gradually he starts to hear the songs which he is singing, but gradually this is what he was doing. You remember how Baal Shem Tov improved after receiving a big descent forgetting how to speak, and his assistant tried to tell him the alphabet and then he finally woke up and reached his degree again.  It is not simple this is the true spiritual work it is not something that I can learn by heart what is written or study in TES like in the university all the emotional discernments are like going up and going down and we don't feel yet the ascents and descents, no this is just being smart guys, but we will discernments only when the scrutinize between us these states and we want them to exist between us.

20. S. (48:24) How to correctly ask so along with the request we also have an agreement with the state?

R. Without this agreement there is no request since if I'm not grateful for the treatment from the Creator, for what I received from Him, my request is not a request but it's more like a complaint like a demand that I punish Him for what He did to me.  I have to come to Him as the good who does good, otherwise who do I turn to, I'm asking Him to make corrections because I understand it through these corrections.  They are all for my sake as He did all the bad within me also for my sake, this way above the evil I reveal the good and will be standing in the middle of creation understanding it from one end to the other.  So I have to come to Him in a state when I'm in complete agreement with everything that happened to me so far, I just ask Him to give me the second half of creation so I could become a giver like You, so I could feel you understand You, be like You, feel You.  what you have done I recognize, understand and I admit that it is all for my own sake, I don't come to Him otherwise, since He is good and does good.  if I don't go like this, then there is no one to turn to, then I don't receive any answer, spirituality is a system it is a field of laws and I need to use these laws correctly.  Like in a computer if I input the right data I received right response and that's what I want, if I can't input the right data then I don't feel any answer.  That's why we have to arrange ourselves correctly before the Creator as there is none else besides Him, He's good who does good and He does everything for our sake, then we come to ask for the corrections in order to be close to Him, to delight Him to be like Him and to delight Him with it.

21. S. (51:29) Did Rabash ever describe to you the order of actions he did to come out of the state of darkness when he woke up in the morning?

R. All the articles speak about that.

22. S. (52:08) In the group the notion of none else besides Him some use it as an answer to all questions, how can we cooperate with such friends?

R. The religious people speak like that, thanks God none else besides Him, it does not answer anything it just mitigates, sweetens their life little bit, and they continue without any change. They were educated to say that, they think about the next world, the rewards in the next world but there is no change in the person.  We need to perform a correction on each the degree towards the Creator to become truly Adam similar to Him, resembling Him, if we don't do this then we die the way we are born and remain like animals which exist in this world like an ox, donkey or a cow, we didn't do anything we come out the way we came in.

23. S. (53:33) I heard a few times during the lesson in the correction I have to subjugate the ego, and what does it mean, and in the moment of truth when the bad comes how to do this?

R. First of all, when the evil is revealed, immediately have to think about the good, and this is done with the help of the environment, we cannot do it by ourselves.  We have to understand to what extent the system is a closed system, and if you don't operate it correctly with don't do anything and remain an animal. We have to feel the need for the ten because if the evil is shown to you then it is not shown for you just to get along with it by yourself, but this evil you have, you have to bring it to the ten and correct the ten using this evil, and this is the same for everybody in the ten when the evil is revealed each friend brings it to the ten, in the ten it is corrected. Otherwise it is not connection we are just running away from the evil some trying to calm ourselves down and that's it really, constantly have to see that the good and evil states how much we connect to the others, to the others and by that we renew more and more the ever-growing connection between us, and then we correct everything.  When we see that by receiving the increase of the will to receive and the greater ego, it's only to bring it to the ten, this is our asset the ego is something good.  It is the will to receive you have to bring it to the group connect it with the friends and then we have a bigger vessel and you process it correctly by connecting it together with others.  Each and every one does the same simply by bringing the ego that the Creator revealed to the ten, and thus by that, connecting together and we ask the Creator together to correct it. So, He would correct everything, connecting the good with the evil, try to do everything in the center of the group because otherwise nothing will happen. I hear your questions and they are all individual questions each asking about himself and the questions about yourself it is not for us, it is not for us it is not for the correction of the system of Adam.

S. To succeed in this role in bringing evil to the ten, do I tell them about it?

R. You don't need to tell them about it just do these things, otherwise each will only speak about the bad confusing everybody because you don't understand the form of evil, why it is revealed, where it is from, do you think you should ask to speak about it like this, are you crazy?!

S. So what does it mean to bring the problem to the ten?

R. You wish to correct the evil in the group in between you, so when you bring your feeling into the ten, integrate in them you are going to be with them despite the evil that is separating them from you, you feel all sort of problems, confusion, something that prevents you from connecting to them.  You ask to be connected even more, and then the evil it will be corrected, just ask for connection each time first, when the evil is revealed, you have to be happy about it, happy about the evil that is revealed because as a result you can increase the connection.

24. S. (58:33) So the evil that appears as a concealment over the Creator, so I come to the ten and I received from them some revelation of the Creator or some influence against that so what do I ask of the Creator because the ten already gives me some grip?

R. If you come to the ten and because of the evil that is revealed you go to the Creator and the Creator arranges the connection with the ten and the Creator is revealed in this new connection.

S. It felt good versus the bad?

R. The state you have now attained is good, the Creator what did he give you, he simply pushed you away from the others, he gave you a bigger ego you're bringing the ego to correction and by that you connect with them even more and the Creator is revealed more in that. Maybe not in your senses, but more, you begin to work, you the ten the Creator of this is called Israel the light Kudsha BrichHu are one.

S. How to use, accelerate the states?

R. All the time without stopping, you have this infinite frequency of such states.

S. How to develop the feeling to see these states that always come?

R. That depends on your attention, you can feel in this way, start and stop all the time.

S. It depends on the connection with the ten beforehand or..?

R. It depends on the connection with the ten where you constantly wish to locate in the ten all of your spiritual results. There is nowhere else to feel spirituality, that is why you're looking at them, when will I reveal my next world in my connection with the others? By connecting with others all of the gaps disappear from us, for now, according to the information that we have now and then we reveal one vessel in one Creator at the level Nefesh

S. And everything we just described in this stage with the ten what do you call faith above reason?

R. That is on the way, we raise ourselves, face of a reason is the force of bestowal on top of the force of reception, simple interpretation of these words is faith is the force of Binah, above reason, above Malchut.

S. What does it mean that we have asked the Creator for strength?

R. When you wish to imagine and to depict that only the Creator is filling all of reality although you have other thoughts or doubts or feelings about it, never the less you want to forcefully depict reality in this way that the Creator controls and rules everything that means that you are arranging faith above reason.

S. As part of that I need the discernment as why do I want it and what is the intention?

R. Of course in order to arrange the vessel, by that to give pleasure to the Creator.

S. That request also to make the Creator happy that is also concealment and feeling of evil?

R. The scrutinizing become more exalted and more refined.

25. S. (1:02:32) What can you do so a friend will ask about the ten and not himself?

R. Explain to him that in spirituality himself does not exist as a unit, only the ten exists. Meaning when we begin to count spirituality from ten who are above the coarseness of Shoresh, can be together.

S. What can you do?

R. Talk about it, scrutinize it, look for material on its maybe send it to Acoca, he is in charge of all the material and maybe we can learn it in the morning.  We have a lot of material that we can study, along the way everything will be clarified.

26. S. (1:03:52) Just to clarify what does it mean to bring my ego into the ten, let's say I feel a problem, I feel that you go, typically I would have restricted and above it I would integrate in the ten, today I heard something new to bring it into the ten.

R.
