Morning Lesson August 9, 2021 Transcription
Item 18 (00:16) “Therefore the Tana described ….” Twice
1. R. (02:50) We will advance to build a state of the vessel where we can reveal the Creator and to reach adhesion with Him, specifically through working together and we understand how much we need to reach a state of Arvut, mutual guarantee, connection, adhesion, together. It seems to each one that their actions are worthwhile but it's opposite of the goal.
2. S. (03:26) What does it mean to be a rebel?
R. Someone who acts against the connection. He works against the purpose of creation, to distance people from each other, especially between us, to act and operate in such a manner that doesn't allow us an opportunity to connect, and not allowing the Creator to exist between us. This is called a rebel.
3. S. (04:08) Do we need to come to a friend and ask him why he is drilling a hole?
R. This must be done if a person is truly breaking up the group, but don’t take an extreme manner but rather talk together and scrutinize as much as possible. If there is no choice then certainly run from that boat in which there is such a person or throw him out. One of the two. It could be that he is not suitable for this group and will not leave the path.
S. What does it mean to run away from the boat?
R. Let's say that there are people that don't think you need to be in connection, although they may want it they don't think they need to make an act of connection. We need to somehow either neutralize them among us and advance gradually, or that we leave them and they will exist on their own. You can't hold someone in the group who is opposed. It could be that he is opposed and not developed yet, but that he somehow understands and wants it so that it doesn't bother us. He is in the boat without disturbing it, just like a load. We can still somehow progress with him until he will understand and grasp our goal, our program.
S. Is this something someone in the 10 or outside the 10 needs to do?
R. No. This the 10 itself needs to do, no one else besides the 10 is capable and they are forbidden. We can't put together a group of officers and guards that are going to come to each 10 to make order there. You can't do such a thing. Only the 10 itself needs to worry how it progresses. First there needs to be a presence to be in the morning lesson, go over the topic of the lesson over the course of the day, and to do all sorts of actions that are necessary. You will see how much each one is incorporated from what he learns and from what he hears.
4. S. (07:20) We hear that love covers all crimes. Can we fix the hole in the boat by our connection?
R. No. You need to work on yourself along with that person and make an effort to insert him in actions of the group as much as he is capable. He who is greater than his friend, his inclination, his desire, his ego, is greater and as people grow they sprout. Initially, they are very opposed to this path, to nullify themselves. He doesn’t understand the difference in what the intention to bestow is, as we spoke today in the first lesson, and to exchange this intention from we connect and want to become an embryo and wanting to bring contentment to Him, the Creator. Once I am working on bringing contentment to the Creator then I am beginning to make spiritual actions and preparing myself to enter into the spiritual conception, Ibur.
5. S. (09:09) Are those two in the boat the few who are trying to control humanity and harm the world, or are they the few that are trying to correct the damage?
R. It is possible, I don't know. I don't want to think about others, I am thinking about us. The others let them roll around. We are doing our dissemination as much as possible. The main thing is to work within us.
6. S. (09:52) How do we identify and act of drilling in the connection between us?
R. To the extent of a person's participation, as much as he is capable, of participating in the lessons you identify accordingly.
7. S. (10:23) It is practically impossible to convince a friend that he is drilling a hole in the boat, but is there a way that we can convince each other of the importance of and how miraculous the Arvut is?
R. This is not simple. It is hard for people who have a large, heavy will to receive to grasp that Arvut is the vessel where we reveal the Creator and the purpose of creation. It is very hard to grasp. Is it possible that we can be tied in our desires and intentions within us and to complete one another. The upper light will connect our desires and intentions to become one internal Adam, that we will be called Adam, similar to the Creator. It is very hard for us to depict this to ourselves. It is easy for some people and they are making large corrections. Nonetheless, we have a large problem. We need to progress patiently, slowly. We are progressing towards the solution nonetheless.
8. S. (12:10) Why is there no answer to this question in these verses and it seems it is left for a person to figure it out?
R. You need to know what is written and you need to make a summary for yourself.
Item 19 (12:38) “Rabbi Elazar son of Rashbi clarifies the matter….”
9. R. (12:25) It is clear this is gradual. First, there are those that are drawn to this, they are called Israel, Yashar Kel, straight to the Creator; then by a lack of choice, pressures and blows, the rest also enter into the same correction.
Reader continues: “It is as they said that the Creator went with the Torah….”
10. R. (14:17) We are talking about that small group that Abraham succeeded in taking out of Babel, where humanity was relatively developed, thousands of years ago. He couldn't find more that wanted to reach revelation of the Creator and be in adhesion with Him besides that small group.
Reader continues: “therefore the Creator did not ….”
11. R. (15:00) Meaning that the teachers of the group that Abraham formed are called Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. They are the generations that taught this group and thus progressed.
Reader continues: “whose ancestral merit reflected upon them….”
12. R. (17:00) Everyone will have to reach a state of Arvut, mutual guarantee. There needs to exist a small group in order to bring this to the whole world, to present this to all of humanity, whatever we are expecting to occur will occur in our times.
13. S. (17:45) When we yearn for our actions to be like those of our forefathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, does that mean we are yearning to be in Arvut?
R. Yes, of course. Today we are in the beginning of the process called ‘the last generation’. Everyone can learn how to connect and reach the correction of their soul. We are very hopeful that this will open the path for all of humanity. On the other hand we see how much nature begins to press on us, that won't allow us to live peacefully on earth. We need to think about how to save ourselves from the corporeal destruction, along with this. From spiritual destruction. We need to think and to learn how we can burst into the spiritual world and also how our corporeal world will be corrected and how, ultimately, both of these worlds will connect together and reach the complete correction.
14. S. (19:33) Can you explain “all of Torah was given even before it was given”?
R. They were in the intention to bestow even before they received the instructions from above. He explains that there were people who, from the purity of their soul, understood and felt the connection above the ego. They had a natural tendency for and they realized it.
15. S. (20:36) We know that all the stories in the Torah talk about the inner states in a person. What state is being described here about those who want to observe and those that don't want to observe Torah?
R. The difference is in the soul. There are very pure souls that feel spiritual ascent necessary and there are those that are very heavy and crude that don't understand or feel the need for spiritual ascent, but specifically when they correct themselves, from them there is a greater benefit than all the other souls.
S. Why did the Creator arrange this struggle between those who want, and are fixing, and those who don't want and are corrupting?
R. Because they are different parts of the soul in the system of Adam HaRishon, from the head to the heel, according to coarseness, thickness.
S. Should there be those that are for and those that are against in every 10?
R. I don't want to get into the matter of each 10. You need to reach the aspect of being round and not weighing each and every friend.
16. S. (22:13) What does it mean that we were chosen out of necessity?
R. Where you live there are thousands and thousands of other people around you that are not drawn to spirituality. They are like everybody else in this world who live and die. You think, ‘how can I reach the upper force?’, ‘how will I reveal Him?’, ‘what is the purpose of life?’, ‘what is the essence of life?’, ‘what are we living for?’, and all kinds of questions. If these questions awaken in an ordinary person he would turn them off because he doesn't want to think about them or suffer. You don't, you do want to know why you're alive and what is the purpose of life. Is it really from nature? Or something like this for you. This is the difference in the souls. We are all one soul but each private soul is a part of the general soul called Adam. According to where a person came from and the intensity of that soul, it yearns, it longs to return to its place. There are those who are like you who come and want to know their fate and what is their source. It's not that you're at fault or you are unique or wise, it is because your soul is from such a place. Now the time has come to correct itself and begin to be active in this entire broken system of Adam HaRishon.
17. S. (24:29) How can one nation that can observe the Torah be grasped in the 10?
R. We have a system called ZON which is Zeir Anpin and Malchut. There are seven parts: Hesed, Gevura, Tifferet, Netzach, Hod, Yesod, and the last one is Malchut. Each is included of 10, all together seventy, seventy qualities in ZON. ZON is the part that receives from the part of the soul called the Rosh, which is Keter, Hochma, and Bina. The direction is to come through the usage of ZON, to come from Bina through ZON to the degree of Keter.
The desires in Bina are not connected to the desires that are called the ‘seventy nations of the world’. These desires are in ZON and the intention is in Bina to bring all of these desires, all of the seventy desires to a connection through Bina to the Keter and that quality in Bina is called Yashar Kel, direct to the Creator. It aims all of the desires that are in ZON to Keter. Therefore they are called Yashar Kel, direct to the Creator, Israel. This is the quality that is in Bina and this quality awakens in some of the shattered desires and in some it doesn’t awaken until later, nevertheless, more and more and more. This quality is not called a nation like all the nations which are 70 parts, the seven times 10 which are Zeir Anpin and Malchut 10 times each, but here it is a matter of the intention.
Those who are aimed directly to the Creator, to bring contentment to the Creator are called Israel, Yashar Kel. This is a special group which the Creator corrects and makes it a special group as it will teach all of the people of the world the direction to be in order to bestow contentment to the Creator. Not because we truly do it for the benefit of the Creator but by that we raise the whole world to the degree of the Creator. These are those who transfer this process which are the desires that are in Bina, and are called Israel, direct to the Creator, Yashar Kel, from Bina to connect to Hochma and Keter; and there are those that are the nations of the world which are those desires in Zeir Anpin and Malchut which need to rise to Hochma and Keter. This is the process that we need to feel, reveal, and implement.
18. S. (29:06) Is Arvut a state we choose or one that's determined from above?
R. It is the general law of the vessel of the soul, of the Kli of Adam HaRishon. It is as its parts are connected together in aiming themselves toward the Creator. That form of connection is called Arvut .Where each feels the others, where each is responsible for everyone. Then it is one Kli which is completely aimed towards the Creator.
19. S. (30:06) Is Arvut in our intentions or our actions?
R. Arvut is in our intentions, of course, and accordingly in our actions. There is an influence between the intention and the action and from the action to the intention.
20. S. (30:38) If the nations of the world in man will always be against Arvut?
R. No, it is a gradual matter of development they will understand from all the troubles and problems and also out of the intellectual and emotional development that there is no choice, we must not be disconnected from all of nature from the still, vegetative an animal that we discover as the general system, the universal integral system but rather that we must integrate with, even though we are opposite it and are willing to use them completely just for our benefit.
21. S. (31:45) Do we need to renew our Arvut mutual guarantee every day and if so in what?
R. We need to constantly be concerned with the Arvut in every single moment, besides that the Arvut should be aimed from us, from the connection of our hearts to bring contentment to the Creator.
22. S. (32:17) Yesterday I was at the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem on a trip, we went to see the city a bit. And there were times two thousand, three thousand years ago that we had explanations about Israel going through different things. In the times of the first and second temple what is the meaning here of the destruction and the building of the Temple is there a connection between these things?
R. There is a connection, the general global desire to receive which is divided among thousands of people goes through a process and more and more becomes ready to ask itself why am I suffering and to respond correctly to all kinds of influences upon it from without and from within. This is how each and every desire in each of us comes closer to being sensitive to ask why am I alive, what is happening in my life and how am I alive. How can I in the true real way correct and raise myself, in an egoistic manner until it becomes more.
S. The nation went through so much suffering the rising and fall, it is amazing the suffering our nation went through it's hard to understand all of this murder and blood.
R. You can't understand it because you're not living in those times the moment it comes down upon the world people receive a certain mindset and feeling accordingly and it’s not what you're thinking of now.
S. All of these stories were developed for the benefit of the soul?
R. Yes they are all beneficial to the development of the soul but certainly you want to do this not for bodily suffering but for the soul's emotional sufferings and correct them.
S. There are those who say we should build a third temple, is there a connection?
R. We will talk about that later, what do you need all of this for? It would be best if you would sit at home and go over the lessons that would be more beneficial to the development of your souls.
23. S. (35:30) Does the Arvut mutual guarantee need to incorporate in the 10?
R. The 10 needs to realize the Arvut mutual guarantee within itself as we are all responsible for everyone and we need to come to a state where we are more or less together ready to bring contentment to the Creator. What do we need for this, let scrutinize by what are we bringing contentment to the Creator and the whole 10 needs to do this, very simple.
S. Does the Arvut mutual guarantee need to be only spiritual or also corporeal?
R. No, no and no only spiritual.
S. In spirituality, it's only scrutiny is of what and how to bring containment to the Creator?
R. Yes.
Item 20 (36:47) “But the end of the correction of the world….”
24. R. (38:01) The souls were very pure that they felt to bestow to one another in the small group that were there such people, this was actually what humanity needs to observe but for the time being there's nowhere to do this except between us. There were several such families as well.
Reader continues: “So what is on the Israeli Nation….”
25. R. (39:50) Although it started from some small family, some small group thousands of years ago, gradually the whole thing cascades and reaches all of humanity and becomes advertised between everyone. There's nothing special here because it is also adapted to the development of nature and to the extent that we discover that nature is one mechanism which draws us to a system of rules and one system. Also us, as we feel distant and apart by the ego between us, we need to understand that eventually all of us, we need to be connected in one system and only in such a way will we be adapted to the general nature.
Item 21 (41:06) “These are the words Rabbi Elazar, son of Rabbi Shimon ….”
26. R. (44:08) Meaning for the time being, a small group here and there, in all kinds of places in the world, individuals would feel that the world has to be this way integral and global just as nature in general is that way and also humanity needs to be connected incorporating its form with the upper force and then it connects and begins to feel the actions of the upper force upon it and how to bestow upon Him. This whole method was first of all revealed towards individuals and then towards the group of Abraham. When I say individuals what I mean is allegorically he spoke about Adam to Noah and all of those, there are 20 generations from Adam to Noah and from Noah to Abraham. Those 20 generations, meaning many years where humanity also absorbed and grasped this matter of unity of unification. This is all until it comes to a state where today we are in a state where all of humanity is capable of taking on this idea and implementing it.
27. S. (45:54) It sounds like from the text that Mutual guarantee Arvut that Israel received, they determine it and on the other hand it seems that we need to reach it by our own choice?
R. I don't understand the translation.
S. He is asking the nation of Israel like it says in the text that the Arvut was determined for the nation, so is Arvut determined from above or do we choose it?
R. Mutual guarantee is where we establish it from below, where we ask for the forces from above but we establish ourselves in this way from below where we want to be connected like in the 10, to be as connected as possible between us in one direction. That is considered that we are in connections of Arvut meaning where each one completes the other. We are all together in the 10, each adds to the other, what the other is missing and this way we come to a general integral vessel. The forces that connect us into one integral vessel and after that all of humanity connects in such an integral way between us this is called Arvut.
28. S. (48:18) Why does the Creator need us to bring all the people of the world to Him? Why can’t He act on them directly?
R. It is written that the people of Israel are like a conduit or a passage. I drew for you already. Rav draws. I can do it again. There are seven Sefirot here, which are Zeir Anpin and Malchut. All in all, these are seven Sefirot, Zeir Anpin is six and Malchut is the seventh. This is called ‘the nations of the world’ or we can call it ‘people'. Above this we have Bina, whose intention is in order to bestow, and is like Ima, a mother towards Zeir Anpin. Zeir Anpin’s intentions are only to receive.
Bina's intentions are called Yashar Kel, direct to the Creator Israel. El is Hochma above and Keter, the Creator or El. The one that transfers ZON, these seventy desires through Bina through Hochma to Keter, is the force called ‘Israel’, direct to the Creator. These desires and intentions that are called ‘Israel’, whoever receives them is not capable of sitting quietly, he finds out where they study the wisdom of Kabbalah and advances because this is the method of how to raise humanity to the Creator. This is the way that we operate as well.
S. What is the difference in the lights that descend on Zeir Anpin compared to Bina?
R. Light cannot directly come down to Zeir Anpin ever. These five discernments we learn in the four phases of direct light. It is impossible for Zeir Anpin to receive from Keter without going through Hochma and Bina. It is a system.
29. S. (52:40) Arvut seems like something so big that comes from the Creator, what actions in the 10 when we talk with them, summarizing something trying to implement it, does this bring us closer to Arvut?
R. It is written about this in many places in the articles that the internal incorporation of desires and intentions between us are called Arvut. By this we all build this internal system, this network between us, the network of relationships in which we have the importance of the Creator, the importance of us being together and how we come to the Creator, how we demand from Him, how we give to Him. Meaning our entire internal organization between us is eventually called Arvut, as by this we need to be supporters of one other here.
Rav Draws. We should just understand that those who have this quality, which is aimed to the Creator, have that spark and they come to us and we need to give them an actual method of how to use this desire that they have in them, how to implement it and this is how we advance. This is how all of those who started to awaken and clarify from all of humanity, from ancient Babylon, they are the ones who call themselves the group of Abraham, Israel, This Is how they advanced to this day. From now to the end of correction when we will eventually have the Creator, they will be those who are called ‘Israel’. Here are the desires, what we call ‘the nations of the world’ or people, until we raise all of us with the intention of Israel and with that intention to unite in the Creator. This needs to be in our time as the end of correction.
30. S. (55:42) According to the drawing, what activates this system? The lower part, the upper system? What moves it?
R. A desire that awakens generally in the Creator, in Israel, and in humanity, in the people.
S. What sets it into motion?
R. The deficiencies that are in all the people in the world. This is the main thing in them, that they are the carriers of this will to receive that the Creator wants for everyone to come closer to, to incorporate in Him and to connect. Israel is not important to the Creator, as Israel is just the passage, the transition as Baal HaSulam writes, but it is important to the Creator that these simple people that don't completely feel this importance, they are the ones that carry within them the lower parts of the vessel which add to the whole vessel, perfection.
S. How do you grasp precisely, from these people?
R. I can't grasp that. I just need to be ready, willing to receive each and every one of them. Let's say, today someone comes from New Zealand or South America, it doesn't matter who. Each and everyone has a place amongst us. Just like we are learning here, whoever is more distant needs to be closer.
31. S. (57:27) Our entire intention needs to be to bestow contentment to the Creator, and that we worry about the world we want to bring these vessels to the Creator. Is this the form of bringing contentment to the Creator?
R. Yes. We will start with as much as we are capable of thinking about this and we will work together. It is not difficult. What I am explaining to you today in the lesson and you perceive and agree and the way you understand this from one lesson to another. A year ago, or from half a year ago, we couldn't even have explained it. We are advancing very nicely and everyone is asking questions that are truly to the point. I am just asking, the first half of the lesson, it is worthwhile for you to go over it again on the day that it is happening. Read and ask each other and if you see a question that really demands an answer then write it down and ask it the next day and I will be happy to answer.
32. S. (59:12) You wrote that Bina is equal to Israel, being on the intention to bestow. What is Hochma? Keter we say is the Creator, what is Hochma?
R. Hochma is the upper force. Which just like we learn from the four phases of the direct light, it is bestowal itself and Bina is the desire to bestow which is meant to bestow to the created beings and the created beings can rise to it. Therefore, Bina is the transition, the connector, between us, which are ZON, and the Creator, or Keter and Hochma together.
33. S. (01:00:31) Can we scrutinize, how do we use all of our meetings during the course of the day, on the one hand you said that we need to scrutinize the matter of intentions bringing contentment to the Creator in each action and even ask each other questions, but then in another part of the lesson you said we should only read and not talk so much and confuse each other.
R. I don't know. Try this way and that way, and if you find a better solution I'm willing to accept that as well. You need to understand what’s better for your advancement, to be able to absorb the essence of the lessons so that it will live in us.
S. There is a debate between the sources and the words of Rav, like you were saying every lesson you give us a portion and we need to hear it again in order to soak it up?
R. Yes, you need to hear it. We advance from one lesson to another. You can see it's all guided toward the goal.
34. S. (01:01:56) Is Hochma divinity?
R. No, the Shechina is the corrected Malchut.
35. S. (01:02:31) Arvut is for the Creator and after Arvut from Israel will the whole world reach the Creator?
R. Undoubtedly it will be this way. The fact is that it is called by a certain name as if there is a certain nationality to it, but Israel is just a name. It is any person who is aimed at connecting with the upper force to a certain extent is called direct to the Creator. This is why you see what a role this group has through all of history. We don't need that, we just need through the wisdom of Kabbalah to see the extent to which it is being implemented in the matter of our world.
