Passover - Selected Excerpts from the Sources. (Exile in Egypt #20)
1.Rav’s Introduction (0:29): Pesach, Pass-over, that is a special state that one goes through, from the word Pose’ach, skipping over, going through or taking a step forward from the corporeal world to the spiritual world. That transition is called Pesach and in honor of that as we stand in that transition, a little bit before it, some are already inside this transition between these two worlds and there are those who almost went through this transition from this world to the spiritual world so this is why it is called Pesach and we celebrate it because it is the most important thing, the most important thing and this is why we have to say about any act of bestowal that it is in memory of the exodus from Egypt. Why is that? Because thanks to the fact that we came out of in order to receive, from the will to receive, thanks to that we are now in the will to bestow let's say and this for us is the most important point, foundational point and we need to see all the time where we are according to what thoughts, intentions, actions, where are we? Are we still in Egypt or we want to be in the transition or we are already beyond it.
We need to depict these things, imagine these things and constantly check ourselves. Where are we? This is very important and we have reached a state where we have between us a very great power of our thoughts and desires so that we are truly drawn forward from one day to the next. We get from the Creator new forces, guidelines, new guidelines. We see, we feel how the Creator is truly pulling us forward. He is letting us feel each and every day something new and most importantly here is that we will discover it and implement it inside the connection between us. The power of the connection between us is actually that true correct measurement that has to show us how we are advancing. This is why we should constantly ask about it, see and check how much we feel more and more that our yearnings, our dispositions are all pulling us forward towards connection.
When we reach the very first connection it will be a sign that we have come out of Egypt. This all in all is the near point to which we need to reach connection between us, the feeling of connection between us, everyone, all the friends in Bnei Baruch, the men and the women as it is told in that story of Egypt and The Exodus from Egypt. Everyone comes out of Egypt. All those who want, all those who are called the people of Israel, the children of Israel meaning those who are directed towards the Creator, Yashar El, Israel they all come out. Let's hope that all of us will truly feel it. In the exodus from Egypt It also says that not everyone was on the same level but each one according to the root of his soul and according to how much he is able to develop himself and to be in adhesion with the others but the degree of one’s adhesion to the friends is what gives him the ability to come out with everyone even if he is a baby, what does it mean that he is a baby?
That he cannot develop anymore than that he is the smallest desire but just to be incorporated in everyone and that is what he is capable of. More than that he does not understand, does not feel, does not have a greater emotion, but knows that if he just goes with everyone like a child who is attached to the grown-up that he will come out. So this is how we need to be more and more tight with each other and then we will all come out. No one stays behind, no one stays behind. The exodus from Egypt this is the crossing of the parsa from the desire which is entirely to receive, a world of reception to a world of bestowal to a desire that is entirely to bestow.
It is still a small desire of entirely to bestow but it is a desire already that exists in a person and a person begins to feel to what extent he is rising above the will to receive and how much he is capable of investing in it and building himself in order to bestow but of course it is through the reforming light that shines on us and this is how we will advance. There are many details in that. The Torah tells us about it, you can read the story in the Torah and see how this may happen with us and the two actions in the connection between us and in our inclination towards the revelation of the Creator. The connection between us is the kli, the vessel in which the exodus should occur is the exodus from Egypt and the revelation of the Creator is the filling, the light that should be revealed in the vessel. So let us talk about it more and more. Let's explain it more and more. Try to read these excerpts and this is how we will advance. We are in a state where certainly we are close to the Exodus to exiting our ego to the connection between us in which we discover the essence of the upper reality.
2. S. (08:24) The initial closest point of connection between us where everyone is equal, men and women, the whole group exits to spirituality. Can you depict it a bit more? What is it and how can we bring it closer to us?
R. We can depict it as a connection between us indeed men and women, the small ones, the children and the grown-ups, new friends, veterans, that we are all drawn to it and we see it according to the story also what the Kabbalists tell us that this whole exodus it happens to everyone. Why should it be everyone? Why does a person who just came, also comes out of Egypt why the women just like the men? Rather it is because they are connected to the extent that each one is capable, that each one is allowed from above, that the Creator gives him the will to receive and all kinds of qualities. If a person tries with all of his force in whatever he is to be connected with the others he starts to discover that specifically in his connection with the friends with all of the worldwide BB that he should open his heart not keep his heart but open it up reveal it, then he will be able to discover that indeed he is discovering everyone there and accepting everyone just like himself that is called the exodus from Egypt that is called the transition from me to we.
S. What does it mean that I open my heart towards the group?
R. To open the heart means that I should cancel the barrier that I have from feeling the other and I begin to feel him just like myself. This is very difficult to depict for someone who has not yet reached it but this is what needs to happen. We cannot see this from the outside of people and there are already some between us that have this open heart and there are those who are close to it. So we all need to connect between us and then through those who have already succeeded and those who are trying and they do not quite succeed or maybe they do not quite try but all of us together we will advance in this collective exodus and we are now this group, like this group Yashar Kel, when it comes out of Egypt we are now capable of embracing everyone all of our friends the men and the women and giving everyone a place and the strength to rise to the degree of connection, our first internal degree which is called the exodus from Egypt. It is all manifested towards connection.
S. We always work towards the ten and I'm trying to open my heart towards the ten but I feel that you are talking about some more developed state where I have to do it towards the whole world Kli.
R. Yes, yes. We now need to think about our whole world Kli because we have thousands upon thousands and we don’t even know how many and we cannot even imagine to ourselves how much we are truly thousands all over the world. This is a great power, this is a great force where each one helps his friend. If we think about connection, all of us together then certainly this connection will give us sufficient drive to turn to the Creator and we will be rewarded with His relation to us that He will bring us closer that He will pull us to Him. This means that he will give us forces of bestowal and then with these forces of bestowal we will connect together, all of us and that feeling of connection between us will be called that we are coming out of Egypt. The enslavement of Egypt means that we are not capable of connecting and the exodus, the exit from Egypt from the Exile of Egypt, exile means that we are not capable of connecting, Galut, to Geula, redemption and the the difference between Galut and Geula is the letter Aleph, Aluf HaOlam, the champion of the world, that the Creator is revealed and through that we connect between us.
3. S. (14:24) Crossing the barrier as you said, this exodus, for this to happen we need to ask for the deficiency from the Creator? How to do it?
R. Only by thinking about it, depicting it to ourselves as correctly as possible. As close as possible in our heart and asking together. Crossing the barrier and the children of Israel sighed from the work; meaning, that we want to connect more but we are incapable of it and then we cry out to the Creator and the Creator performs the connection. The crossing of the barrier is the crossing from this connection between us and we feel that we are not capable of it, to connection between us that we feel that the Creator is giving us the possibility to connect, then through the connection we start to feel something of the vessel of Adam HaRishon.
4. S. (15:43) What is the connection between the Shechina and the common vessel and our correction?
R. The Shechina is our common desire and we together want to keep this common desire in which there is a common inclination between us to all be in one desire and all in all in that desire we will discover such a great inclination of each one towards the others so that inside of us, inside this desire, this connection, the Creator becomes revealed. The vessel that is our desires that there will be in an inclination towards connection. That they will be congruent with the light of bestowal that dresses in them.
S. We do not exit alone, we all exit together, so?
R. That will happen later. For the time being we will not connect before we come out so each and every one of us as much as he can should be in an inclination towards connection with everyone and in that inclination where each one adds he adds a prayer of his own and a prayer for the others out of himself; meaning, that the Creator will give him the strength to be drawn towards connection with everyone and the inclination for the others is that the Creator will give everyone the desire to be in such an inclination connected with everyone and then in the end the individual prayer and the collective prayer will be the same prayer and if we will ask like that, all of us, then certainly we will be rewarded with a response from the heavens.
S. Ultimately everyone asks for everyone else that the Creator will liberate them?
R. Yes certainly because we want by that to fulfill the Creator's desire. His will is for everyone.
5. S. (18:17) Following the previous question we know that we come out not as individuals but as a nation. What does it mean that BB becomes a nation? What is that spiritual sensation?
R. What? We are not a nation? A people? We are actually a nation. We are the representatives of all the nations of the world. The way that the Creator gathered us from all of humanity and we have among us truly everyone, everyone. This is called the people of Israel and people, the nation, means a group a certain mass that is yearning towards the Creator as directed each one from his place from his qualities from his desires his history it does not matter each and every one but we all want to connect between us and in the Creator. Therefore it is called Yashar El. This is how it was in history and according to history when we perform these actions in Babylon when we came out of Babylon we were also from all the different nations that were in Babylon at the time. Back then the whole civilization was seemingly concentrated there and this is how it is now all around the world.
S. Still it seems that we might get a different sense of a Nation the moment we feel our differences that each one comes from a different place even though we have the same inclination but as individuals and tens we are in the feeling that is required of a complete Nation. Can we come closer to that feeling to that more general term of what is that spiritual BB this new nation?
R. We need to yearn. In each and every one of us certainly there is his own foundation, his own inclination and the depiction of the exodus and the redemption and connection between us so that the Creator will be revealed between us. The upper spiritual world the eternal reality each one can now depict it according to his fantasies according to his own nature but if we are drawn to it then the upper light influences us according to our inclination towards connection and it itself also gives us the inclination towards connection and in that inclination towards connection we then begin to discover what it means precisely this concept of the exodus, the exit, it is the exit from separation to connection and we do not really know what connection is precisely. What is it? In our world, in our state, it is impossible to depict it but gradually it will become revealed more and more out of our efforts, out of our efforts and this is what we have ahead of us and it is near, it is near. So make the effort and you will see. You truly need to demand from one day to the next that it will be revealed more and more in the emotion and the understanding and this is how it is going to be. Try to be around that all the time. This is a very desirable time for it.
6. S. (22:27) The Exodus, we need to be already connected to come out of Egypt or is it sufficient for us to want the same goal but we haven’t come to it yet?
R. It is not necessarily that we are connected and then we come out. We are not coming out physically, we are coming out from separation to connection and according to the intensity of the connection that we will discover, accordingly we discover the Creator. It is written that the Creator is walking ahead of us, going ahead of us at night as a pillar of fire and in the day as a pillar of smoke. So we actually need to see ourselves as being drawn after the Creator which is the one unique and unified force that is revealed in the state of connection between us, otherwise there is no Creator and so we need to see before us to see ourselves that we are connected in the day and in the night. Meaning both when we understand and feel something and also when we are confused and far away it does not matter in which forms but we have to constantly depicted to ourselves that we are going after the Creator.
The Creator is our force of unity, of connection. This is how we advance and out of these efforts it will become more and more clear to us what it is that we are doing and most importantly that in our feelings we will start to feel that we are close in our hearts in our emotions and the emotions we do not quite need to sort the emotions into understanding because an emotion is an emotion, that is it. In the emotion there is no intellect just to feel that we are in one heart just to feel that we are in one heart as much as possible and then these stages will roll over us and soon we will start to feel these processes that certainly we are coming out of separation and entering into connection and in between the Creator becomes revealed the spiritual world is revealed in a single heart.
7. S. (25:27) I wanted to ask. Let's say an amount of people come out of Egypt what will change in the world the day after or in general except for that group?
R. First of all the question is proper. We see that in our world there is no single force that is connecting everyone and the world truly greatly needs it. Look at what is happening in the world and all of the worlds. We see as Baal HaSulam writes and indeed we see that we are in danger of a world war and therefore the more we will bring the world the force of connection by that we will bring the world a force that is opposite to the wars, opposite to the problems, the individual ones and the collective ones and this is what humanity is actually expecting that will happen. It is not expecting it to happen from us because we are still under concealment and also for the time being we are in a same part of reality which is egoistic but the moment that we will emerge from the exile to redemption and we will be on the other side of reality in in order to bestow the spiritual world then the nations will say the Lord has done greatly with them. Which means that we will feel how the attitude towards us is changing from everyone.
That everyone will start to discover these and those and those but somehow they will start to notice that there is in our world a group called the people of the Lord. That between us and our world there is some new essence that on the one hand it is connected to our world to corporeality and on the other hand it has within it a spiritual force and that group can be an example as something that pulls the whole world to that place. This is our role, for us to emerge from the exile and reach redemption so that the Creator will be among us. Then we will be able to give an example to everyone that this is how our world will be able to prepare ourselves and to rise also to the spiritual ascent and in that they do not have to go through the same stages that we have gone through, no, they simply connect to us and they follow us. Baal HaSulam writes about it. So let us learn how to do all of these things, and soon. This is why I recommend for everyone to invest force in it, time and attention and it will work out. We are in the correct state at the right time. We have friends that are pretty much organized and clothes together on the path and they are worthy of such an ascent.
8. S. (29:53) I wanted to ask about this discernment of not leaving anyone behind how does it work what does it mean that we do not leave anyone behind?
R. It is written in the Torah that Moses says I am not going to leave even a single Parsa, hoof in Israel; is exactly that boundary where we cross from the corporeal world to the spiritual world. So, what do we do? We simply have to cause such a connection between us so that we will carry everyone. We will carry everyone, even those who were not with us during all of this time, they too will connect to us. We do not throw away anyone, anyone who wants to come out with us please let him come out, even though it is written that later they cause problems after we come out of Egypt, and this is also with respect to our internal desires that we did not correct yet sufficiently and also seemingly with respect to people. So, we have all kinds but we need to take care of anyone who wants to come out, he should come out.
S. But you said also that the exit is the discernment between separation and connection.
R. So, each one as much as he has incorporated in it he makes the effort and he will come out. This is not something clear cut where we can cut through it.
S. So, what follows is that it sounds like ultimately friends who have some yearning towards the Creator they exit and at the same time you say we come out from separation to connection so how to relate to that?
R. But in those discernments you have many degrees and many states, it does not matter. Each and every one that is on the path has the ability, the opportunity to come out of his Egypt to connect with everyone.
S. What is this action of opening the heart and putting the whole world vessel there, when you open your heart and discover all the friends are there?
R. I will tell you. We have built something with the help of the creator, of course the Creator did it for us where there is no similar group and the reality of our world that includes so many people who are completely different, completely strangers, but nevertheless they are connected certainly through the Creator, It is not me but it is the creator who is guiding us, bringing us closer to each other. We are ready to be that group that indeed for the first time in history is making that transition from in order to receive to in order to bestow. From the corporeal world to the spiritual world. I hope very much that this will happen to us soon, and it all depends on our common effort.
S. What to do to open the heart?
R. To think about it all the time, to be incorporated in the friends, to subjugate oneself towards the entire general vessel. When I hear how you speak throughout the day between you I'm very much impressed by it and it helps me also to be connected to you and to rise higher and higher; to be closer to you and to be closer to the Creator. I truly feel inside of your hearts that the Creator is there and he is expecting me to come closer to Him in such a way.
S. So, what is the test that every friend should do to see that the heart opens up?
R. It depends on the character of the person, some can speak nicely about it, some are silent, but eventually that inner disposition that is revealed in the hearts this is the most important, not that it necessarily has to be done silently but the inner inclination has nothing to do with how much the person speaks or not, maybe he knows how to sing or speak or not. It depends only on the opening of the heart, this is something also that you cannot see according to his external attributes. We need to try to feel how my heart each and every day opens up more more and it cannot be according to what we will see. It is impossible to see it and I think I'm also an example of that because I cannot express according to my external actions whatever is inside of me, I'm not built like that.
S. I'm asking because there is a strong desire to connect between us more, open our hearts but it is unclear how to realize the desire in full so that it happens.
R. If we think about it more, and if we will depict more that the barrier exists specifically in the connection between us; so that if I can cross from my part to the part of the friend and cancel the border between us, this actually is the transition from physical reality to spirituality. This is something that the world greatly needs and it will need it more more. God forbid if we would not do it in today's state as Baal HaSulam writes, we might reach a world war and then we will be under greater pressure, and this is how we will advance.
9. S. (37:52) How will we know that we have made the necessary connections and what is going on in that connection?
R. The fact that we constantly check our hearts, that each one checks his heart. If the connection succeeds then we will feel that we are in one heart, in formal words, but before that also we feel that we’re closer to each other, that we must connect, that we are capable. It doesn't happen at once, it is a process where we reach the exit from our ego to the connection between us. It is a gradual process and we can see in all kinds of different manners; how we disconnect from the self, each one of us, and how we start to feel the connection between us in a way that it is more and more tangible, more sensitive, more internal. Because that’s how it is, what can you do? It is impossible to talk about it, there are no words really, how can i put it in formal words…but nevertheless these are words of emotion because “The Creator demands all of the hearts”.
10. S. (40:18) What is a common prayer out of the heart of the ten?
R. That we try to connect between us as much as we can to a single desire. We depict ourselves as being in a single desire, a single heart, and from it we cry from our single connected desire, from everyone and in that desire we anticipate the response, the answer from the Creator so that He connects our hearts and desires so much so that He becomes revealed. That he becomes revealed in a way that He can appear and express Himself in both; distance and in connection. Like you see it in technology and other things, you have to have two opposites, light and darkness, you can’t see anything if there’s no darkness; shadows and lights and so on. So, in the connection between these things the created being can reveal the Creator and the action of bestowal. That's how we’ll discover it.
11. S. (42:06) I wanted to ask about this matter. You said that every day we need to feel that we are coming closer, more and more and we should measure the connection, what does that mean about the process? Because you talked about a gradual process.
R. About the process that's exactly what needs to happen: The combination between light and darkness, retraction and attraction, that’s what needs to happen. Above that we have to keep working and connect all of these states to a single process and relate all of these states to the Creator and connect both darkness and light, and that is how we advance.
12. S. (43:06) He said that we need courage in order to enter the connection and enter our hearts. What is this courage?
R. Courage to open the heart. Try to open it and see that it does not open. Then ”One should help his friend”, meaning that all the friends can approach each and everyone and help them open their hearts. Try to depict it, try to do it.
13. S. (43:46) What style and atmosphere are desired for the friends to transmit in order to come out of Egypt? There seem to be two approaches: friends who explain more how bad it is in Egypt and the will to receive is rejecting us and disturbing us, and the other approach is how much the friends are great and the Creator and the love He prepared for us?
R. We have to connect all of the states. Meaning between all of the friends in the ten, and direct all of these states to the point of connection between us; where there is both darkness and light, rejection and inclination to connect, and above that a prayer to the Creator.
14. S. (44:44) You talk of a lot about depiction, you use this phrase a lot that we should depict and there is a power that we have, a powerful force of imagination and when we use it to imagine or depict our future state, we see powerful results but we do not do it often enough. So I'm wondering what is your sort of definition when you talk about depicting something and how can we do that as a ten or as a world Kli, vessel?
R. I cannot express this, I cannot express this. Maybe if you ask the friends they could give some examples.
S. Because we do it, we sort of discuss what the future will be or how we want the future to be. Do we picture a perfect utopian society or that humanity will feel when we are connected and when we reach Ein Sof, infinity, does that help for us to sit and discuss that, and aim? because it seems like if we do it we are aiming towards something that we all agree upon, but I'm just wondering how to best approach that?
R. It does not matter how much, how similar we are but how we all want to be connected to the Creator. That we emerge as disconnected and different but we want to connect in the Creator. Everyone wants out of his heart to connect with the others through annulment, in order to connect with everyone in the Creator. The Creator is this sum total that we need to achieve.
S. You just said previously that we depict ourselves in a single prayer, in a single heart and you kind of throw that out a lot, as kind of a term, a mantra “depict yourself as connected” and it seems difficult to just follow that directive.
R. It is difficult because we do not increase the envy that I look at my friends and I am envious of them. I look at them and I want to be envious of them for how much they support each other and I'm not like them, I have a stony heart. So, when I look at them like that I feel myself in sorrow, because they are closer to each other and more supportive of each other and thinking about each other more; there is some proximity between them and I am not like them. Between me and them there's some sort of isolation and I feel sorry for that on the one hand, but on the other hand what can I do. That is where I need to pray, to always be sorry that I am not connected as they are and turn to the Creator to give me the ability to connect as they are connected. That is essentially the main action we need to make here, to the extent that we begin to come closer to each other, to that extent we will begin to reveal that there is a common force between us called The Creator.
S. So the depiction is really about showing rather than imagining?
R. To show oneself, yes.
15. S. (49:55) You just mentioned the quality of envy. How can we use the quality of envy to receive what our friends want to bestow, to become more integrated and in particular in the workshop?
R. It’s written “envy, lust and honor take a person out of this world”. Envy, lust and honor, they should help me. The Creator did not create anything for no reason but to help me get out of the egoistic world into the altruistic world. Then, I just have to see how I use all of these qualities that are seemingly negative, in order to rise above my ego.
16. S. (51:02) Now we are studying the topic of Pesach, Passover and there is the topic of the plagues, blows over the ego and I see that myself and the friends are going through these blows of egoism. The question is how do we work with it correctly and how do we help the friends work with it?
R. We'll get into that later on.
Item #20 twice (51:44) “When the people of Israel…”
17. R. (53:39) This is basically the feeling of exile, that we understand somewhat what is redemption; we feel that we need to become better but yet we are in this state and we cannot really move, there is no power to exit. The state is not so bad that you want to run away from it. The state where the evil accumulates and pushes them to come out of Egypt, to run in the darkness it doesn't matter where, just to escape until they come to the Red Sea and jump into the waters, that is what is called “I am better off dead”. Meaning I disagree with remaining in this current state. That is something that we gradually come to, it is an accumulative state that ultimately happens to us and we will overcome it.
18. S. (54:44) How can he get confidence and be certain with this force of connection that we are capable of doing it?
R. We need to enter the connection between us and search for a force in the connection between us called Arvut, mutual guarantee, which is essentially the Creator's force and it is common to all of us, and by that force we will gain confidence and ability to do everything. To do it all. Even afterwards to receive in order to bestow. Where do we get such a force to work in conjunction with the light and against the will to receive? From the force of Arvut that we received from the connection between us.
Excerpt 21 twice (56:00) (57:24)
19. S. (58:43) It is said there that if I detect that I'm an idol worshiper then a place opens up in me for a prayer. What does it mean that I discovered that I'm an idol worshiper and can pray?
R. This is called “one who is an idol worshiper” who worships other gods, meaning there are many egoistic forces and there is one force which is the Creator, the force of bestowal so it depends on what a person worships, what he bows to, what he follows, what he is drawn to; either he follows the force of bestowal or he is still following the force of reception. That’s it.
S. Not quite, if concretely, what should I see? What do I see when I'm idol worshiping?
R. Each time I do egoistic work I'm aware of it. I feel that I am under the force, the rule of my ego and that makes me feel bad. That's what I wish to happen to have discernments about what I'm doing with forces opposite the Creator and in favor of the Creator; and that should be felt not just understood.
S. Not yet. If I discovered that everything that I do I'm doing it not for some corporeal reward but for the spiritual reward is that still Idol worshiping?
R. That's on track that's on the way towards correction. We gradually move from in order to receive to in order to bestow and this path continues until the final correction where each time we discover more and more precise, subtle, lofty discernments where I suddenly see that I'm in order to receive and I haven't seen it, I haven't felt it, I didn't think it was true and now I discover it is. It's like in our world when we explain to children that you shouldn't do this but you should do that and if you don't do what I teach you then you will go wrong and do harm to others and yourself but they can't hear it because their ego demands I want this and that's it. So, bit by bit we wait for them to grow, to understand, to learn that by doing things egotistically he harms himself and we explain it over time. Same thing to the Creator towards us.
S. I'm very bothered by this question, this Idol worshiping nevertheless, is this an attitude? What do I do with it when I discover that I am actually doing something for myself? Or maybe I discover that I don’t feel the friends or…?
R. This happens to each and everyone. We are all Idol worshipers. It is also written that way. That in the beginning our ancestors who are our forefathers were idol worshippers. It says that in the beginning of the Haggadah of Passover and then the Creator took them out of that. When the light shines on them some more and they begin to see that they are in an egoistic attitude toward everything in the world and then gradually by the light of the Creator that appears to them they begin to see that this is wrong and that is wrong and so on and accordingly they have recognition of evil.
Where I am wrong and where I am not okay and then they come to a state where at first there is recognition of evil in general and then they feel that they can't touch anything because they feel the evil in full to the point that I can't. I hate that evil. At first it's just some kind of agreement, what can I do that's who I am I'm weak, until I come to a point where I hate it and then that's what we're told, that only hatred toward the evil is what we need to achieve and it's sufficient to disconnect from it. We don't destroy or do anything to the evil, we just hate it and that is sufficient for us to not touch it and then we take the evil with the hatred and we transform it to good that's already a higher level of work.
Reading Excerpt 22 twice (01:08:20)
20. S. (01:11:15) Do we have the strength to come out of Egypt when this force comes from above or does this force come from above after we pray to exit?
R. If we pray correctly we receive all the strength.
21. S. (01:11:38) In order to reach a state where we will be a light for the world you said that we always have to follow the Creator at all costs. What does it mean to follow the Creator and how can we do it before we enter spirituality?
R. We try to make actions of connection between us to allow the Creator to shine between us. That is basically what we need. Actions of connection between us to allow the Creator give him the possibility to shine between us. We are thinking about the result that the Creator will shine on us. We don't think about the fact that we have to make room for him to shine and we have to take care of the Kli, the vessel because the light is at complete rest. The Creator fills all of reality; we just have to rediscover the Kli for the revelation of the Creator.
22. S. (01:12:40) The Exodus from Egypt does it mean to rise above reason because within reason we cannot reach connection because it is against the will to receive?
R. Surly exiting above reason means from disconnection to connection in terms of the vessels.
23. S. (01:13:11) Please tell me how to work correctly in states in which there is such a feeling of helplessness. How at the time of a fall, a descent or an ascent in the ten there's a feeling that everything comes from the Creator?
R. If you are incorporating with the ten then you will receive there, both strength and direction. First like Rabash writes in The Social Articles, first you have to incorporate with the ten, bring yourself to zero and then from there you'll understand what to do next. If you haven't achieved zero towards the group then you have nothing you can do. Nothing but that.
24. S. (01:14:15) The question is this, the path of Torah can be the path of suffering or the path of light, is this according to the intention?
R. The path of Torah is not the path of suffering, if I walk on the path of Torah I'm happy with every state I go through. In the darkness as well. Okay?
25. S. (01:14:52) What does he mean when he writes here in excerpt 22 that one should live a life of sorrow, a sorrowful life, what is this sorrow that one has to go through?
R. He does not have to go into a life of sorrow, he just has to simply restrict himself as much as possible from all kinds of imaginary business and only to aim himself to the essential business in order to exist and all the rest is in the connection of the group.
S. Where does he take the strength from to only simply exist and all the rest to invest in the ten?
R. From the Creator. All our forces are from Him even the evil forces we have, everything is from Him He is the source
26. S. (01:15:58) I’m sorry but we're talking about the exodus from Egypt.
R. Yes.
S. We are talking about it in a very pretty and egoistic way but how do I know that I am already in Egypt?
R. We are not talking about going out of Egypt already, we are talking about the transition, what we should do in order to come out of Egypt. To rise above our ego. Each and everyone's personal ego to incorporate in the ten and so to advance so I will have love of friends and love of the world which are called the qualities of the exodus from Egypt. Clear?
.
S. My question is, entering Egypt, is it something that I do consciously or does it happen by chance?
R. The entrance to Egypt is done because a person yearns to know more to understand more to feel more. This way he enters the study of Kabbalah, the group, all kinds of such states and he learns and he develops and bit by bit he starts feeling by the study and his participation in the group that he is in Egypt. His existence in Egypt is divided into a few phases. First of all he doesn't feel that it's bad because he runs after knowledge then he also tries to understand, to feel, he feels good with the friends meaning he's using these states egoistically and he sees his life as a good life. Later he gets a little tired of it. He doesn't find anything good in it. Sometimes he starts hearing that he should do actions against the desire in order to bestow but he doesn't really pay attention to that just as we know about ourselves and he goes through his life that even though I'm egoistic, well let's keep on going this way, he justifies himself and he keeps on, until he comes to states that he really sees himself and if he won't get rid of his ego then he's in a problem, he has a problem.
He can't reach spirituality. When for him spirituality is still something good, something good in his will to receive. He advances some more then he starts seeing that spirituality is actually in order to bestow then he also has a transition, he has to agree to spirituality being in order to bestow and he's in order to receive and coming out to spirituality is switching his nature so that he will care about everyone and these things are done in him by the influence of the light that reforms, that's how he advances and that's how each and everyone should see himself how he's going through this transition. These are internal emotions, personal for every person. That's it but ultimately just keep on going, keep on going and the Creator will make sure that a person will go through these things.
27. S. (01:20:33) In order for the friends to be able to feel the need for connection, what's the right prayer for us to really reach Arvut?
R. The right prayer to reach Arvut is for us to pray for Arvut, in order to obtain the Arvut between us. That's what we need and when we pray to have the Arvut between us and when we don't even want it but it is written so we do ask for it to be between us and bit by bit we have to talk and here there is the matter of envy. When we're still in the egoistic forces the main thing for us is envy. When I look at the others it seems that they have Arvut or maybe it doesn't seem to me but they're talking about it. They talk about it, why don't I talk about it? Why don't I have it? So I also want it because of envy because of envy we can do anything as you know that if you're stabbing one eye for him then stab both my eyes, you know this joke? That's it, that's how by envy we start reaching a state that we want, Arvut, why? Everyone's in it and I'm not. If everyone is, how come I won't be in it? Where does it come to us from? From the shattering, from the shattering. The Creator made the shattering on purpose so that whatever is in the majority it draws us even though it's not good, even though it's not good it's drawing us.
S. Do you have some kind of recommendation of what ten we should envy?
R. I didn’t understand.
S. You said that we need to envy, what ten should we envy?
R. What do you mean what ten? The ten I'm in. I don't need to envy a different ten. How can it be? I'm in a certain ten in my ten I have to find all the strengths, all the discernments until I discover the Creator. Everything happens in my ten.
S. Can I ask about entering Egypt? Is this a desire that exists within or outside of nature?
R. Everything is outside of nature, everything that relates to the spiritual development of ours is above nature. With our participation or without it well that depends on the state we are talking about.
28. S. (01:25:13) According to what it says in the excerpt the real pleasure is only in Lishma but we crossed the phase from Lo Lishma to Lishma.
R. So the pleasures we have in Lishma. Before that state it is not considered any fulfillment or pleasure.
29. S. (1:25:50) Do we need the force of the entire ten in order to cross, as a ten?
R. It's best if it's the whole ten together, if that's impossible so whatever you can.
30. S. (01:26:15) First of all do you actually need to come out of your own Egypt in order to connect with others?
R. Yes, I should come out of my own Egypt with respect to others in order to enter connection, what we call “the land of Israel'' in connection with others.
31. S. (01:26:42) in the ten the connection is very strong but there are ups and downs. It's very hard to remain together all the time. What do we do in order to feel the Creator in each and any given moment and is it possible?
R. Yes it is possible. If we don't hold on together in the ascents and descents; we won’t feel the Creator.
32. S. (01:27:08) What do you need to talk about in order to open your heart? What kind of thoughts can help you open your heart?
R. Only the greatness of the group and the greatness of the Creator.
33. S. (01:27:25) If in our heart we feel a barrier that does not allow us to connect to another friend, should we ask the Creator to break that barrier or make an effort against our own will and act out love, make believe?
R. Connect above the Machsom, above the barrier.
34. S. (01:27:49) You said that envy, lust and honor deliver a person from this world? Does it mean that overcoming these qualities in this world will lead us into the spiritual world?
R. Yes.
35. S. (01:28:06) How does our imagination tie us with the sensation of expectation for the next phase?
R. You have to keep on going and that's how it will happen. These things have to be revealed and solved in the process we're going through.
36. S. (01:28:30) A ten that is correctly advancing toward the Exodus of Egypt what is it like?
R. It's a ten that feels like it's tighter and tighter within itself, in both the ascends and descends.
37. S. (01:28:44) How do we help our friends to open their hearts?
R. Set an example.
38. S. (01:29:04) The Passover material is powerful and hard and there is a feeling like some people need something a bit more emotional. So what should we do when we gather as a ten?
R. We're always if anyone is the emotion. If anyone is missing emotion, open his heart. He should bring himself closer to the Friends.
39. S. (01:29:37) Yesterday during the common daily world prayer, there were almost 1,000 women, and we feel like we took another step toward the opening of the heart and it wasn't for ourselves, but it was for the sake of humanity. What is the benefit of this daily common prayer?
R. It should be a very strong prayer, under the condition that during this prayer you turn to the Creator for the sake of everyone, the entire humanity; and you're asking from the Creator for the whole of humanity and you're willing to be a passageway, a conduit; and through you the force of correction, the force of fulfillment will pass through the entire humanity and you yourself demand nothing and want nothing besides that.
40. S. (01:30:37) Should we make a special effort in dissemination to help us exit, to call upon everyone?
R. Yes.
