1. Rav’s Introduction: Okay it's not a new topic. We are continuing it and we have to really get used to it. The truth is besides ups and downs, we are not going to have any different state. Both ascents and descents, it doesn't matter to us, what matters to us is that we feel the direction that we either move to a new vessel, which is called a descent or we are processing this vessel that we received from the descent and raise it to the correct spiritual action which is called ascent.
But specifically the descent and ascent through that, like we also discussed yesterday, first comes evening night and then day, scrutiny and correction that's what we need to have. That there are the least possible states where we are detached to where it is neither a descent or ascent that's not good, that's a time that does not bring any benefit. Therefore we are in a group, and the greatest benefit of that is that one shows help to his friend, that we really need to make sure that all of our friends will be in active states of ups and downs or descents and ascents. S. So how can you from what he reads here that needs to be a new discernment what does he need to do differently?
R. To accept what the Kabbalist says and try to relate to it this way, that's it. If it was of his own then they would not add if he had to add something although he doesn't feel it but that's why they write it.
S. But what to add if he doesn't feel that innovation that's happening now?
R. To have faith above reason that this is new and therefore he has to relate to it with special attention each time.
5. S. (06:50) The last sentence has mentioned he raises different sparks until he raises the sparks that pertain to his vessels. What does this mean?
R. That each time in each descent and ascent, he wants to realize everything he's got in order to feel how he is different from the group and the Creator, and how he can connect them. That's all, that's the direction for now, afterwards we will see in all these records many inner discernments.
6. S. (07:41) What does it mean that we are hastening the time when we are yearning for connection in the 10?
R. It is said that Israel hastens the times, accelerates times, what does it mean? Those who are drawn straight to the Creator, Israel, meaning they want out of each and every state to see themselves as close as possible to connection with his vessel meaning the 10 and the Creator within it. So in that inclination one brings oneself closer to the group, meaning to his soul, and to the Creator who is fulfilling the soul, and the more he labors in that, he brings the corrections closer and processes the records. Each broken record gives him the difference between him, the group and the Creator, he is trying to implement it towards a connection as quickly as possible.
S. How to implement, correctly, this record in connection just yearn for it or something else?
R. Yes, like you said, that we need to be drawn towards connection. Whatever you are capable of, you should do.
7. S. (09:35) You said that we need to process the material in depth as much as possible. In the diagram it's clear but what do we process exactly?
R. I want to connect with the group and the Creator inside the group as much as possible, the Creator being the totality of my connection with my friends. Here I have to see how I can complement them in a way that they are not single or individual people to me, but they are a single desire. Meaning the fact that I see them as different desires or not even desires but people who are in front of me, it is just how I distinguish them through my broken desire.

8. R. (12:08) This is clear, meaning a strong desire is measured by the time of the pause between one effort and another, one ascent and another. Meaning that it is sufficient for me to feel disconnected for just one moment, and I immediately go to correct this separation, so the sense of separation needs to be felt in a person as a calamity, as something that is very clearly negative. R. We are in a corporeal state and therefore we can, even though we are not in spirituality, use our corporeal preparation to accelerate the emergence of the broken records, spiritual records (Reshimot) that will appear in us. And then we can take care of them, process them and enter spirituality as quickly as possible. It all depends on how we prepare the place for a connection between us, between the friends in the 10. So to prepare the place for work means that we are willing to be connected between us, the more the better and we try to do it with whatever we can. And according to our readiness, we discover spiritual records in us, the broken records and then we can continue correcting them and advancing. That's one aspect, on the other hand, like he says before, I lose my spiritual state when I have some connection and I immediately begin to think about the next state, I even start to look for, like the old man who is looking for more flaws that might appear in the connection between us, that we can find and correct them and advance. It depends on each and every one's inclination, general tendency in the 10, and by that, he advances everyone else and that's how the whole 10 advances, in general.
11. S. (18:05) Does the ascent and descent depend on our new records?
R. Of course, certainly, everything is determined by the emerging records and our work is only to hasten the emergence of the records from the shattering and then together, based on these records, we invite the light that reforms; the surrounding light that corrects these records and organizes us around them, connecting us, and that's how we advance. But it all depends on the records. Everything depends on that, everything, our whole life, as well as our corporeal life. It all depends on the records.

(22:55) This is our problem, that we must see how we advance and this is where our great ego appears, if I work in order to bestow I don't need to see anything, except for a place to bestow and the result of my progress is the biggest egoistic result I can imagine to myself. It is forbidden to dwell in that even though our ego demands that we always demand where our results are, what is happening with us, why am I not getting this or why do you not give me. For sure instead of transcending the corporeal ego, I enter a spiritual ego. So this is a true obstacle standing in our way. How do we begin to relate to the results of our work in a way that, other than the action of bestowal, I don't want anything. That beyond the action of bestowal, I don't have anything, I don't want to know why I have done, what I have caused, the work itself is the reward for me and I locked myself away from all of the results that may appear and I don't want to see them. I don't want to belong to them because that is already in order to receive.

R. (26:15) This is the greatest obstacle, to see how we advance what will be the result of my spiritual work. I'm willing to bestow as much as you want me to, you want me to bestow, I will bestow. But where is the payment, where is the reward for bestowing, for what I am doing? This is the problem. In spirituality there is no reward for what you do but being able to bestow to the Creator is the reward that is itself the reward.
13. S. (26:56) In a state of descent what is the act of giving?
R. There is no work in the descent we just need to get impressions from the descent itself in that we process that state as much as possible and we are getting a new record, a new state from the general shattering that occurred in the vessel of Adam HaRishon, and this descent didn't happen because we were not okay. But specifically because the Creator wants to advance us to a new state and to a new correction. Then we receive the sense of shattering that is deeper that we call a decent. Descent is just a relative thing. We can say it's not a descent or either new desires appear in me, from that they emerge from the shattering desires that are greater than before because I have become more experienced and stronger and therefore, I am rewarded with a new record. So that's how we needed to relate to what appears in the descent.
14. S. (28:56) The excerpt says that our descents are instruments for the sensation of the help he will receive. I'm not sure what that means. Can you explain a bit?
R. The meaning is that when I feel a descent, in the descent, except for moving away from sanctity from connection, I need to also begin to feel the character of being far away, in what style, in what sense. I don't want to be in order to bestow, in order to connect with the friends and with the Creator and how this whole state that I am examining, gives me the feeling of what needs to happen in its stead. R. You need to try to clarify the state where you are doing the work not in order to receive a reward, that you feel but in order to be more connected through the friends to the Creator that is all. There is no more.
16. S. (31:53) How can a person know that he is operating in order to bestow or will he never know that so that he won't receive for himself?
R. The truth is we are all working in order to bestow. The whole world, like it or not, they are all following the commands of the upper force, the instructions of the Creator. All of humanity entirely is fulfilling the Creator's will, however there are a handful of people out of all of humanity who want to feel that they are bringing a contentment to the Creator. Therefore the whole work is for them but, in truth, there is no, as it says a person does not move a finger below if he is not led to that from above. Meaning we all work according to the records but there are such records that are realized with man's consent and that is a small portion of the records called Israel, aimed at the Creator and then there is the majority of the records which is most of humanity most of the world, who are following these records in a different way unconsciously. Unknowingly. That's most of humanity but the truth is nothing is left outside of the Creator, everyone fulfills the will of the Creator, and we are advancing towards recognition of evil on various levels and in different ways.
17. S. (34:16) I want to continue the question, when during the descendants that can be helping us measure these states, can we give a concrete example if I see that I cannot give importance to friends. Does it mean that when I later receive an ascent, I will receive more of an understanding of importance to the friends?
R. Repeat please.
S. I would like to understand how the mechanism of ascents and descents works. If I see that the friends are important to me. Is it right to expect that later I'll have an ascent then I will see the friends not like before but important instead?
R. Yes, in the sense I see their friends as important and in the descents I see them as less important and that's what I understand from what you're asking.
S. If I see, let's say, I'm missing the importance of the goal right now will the response that I receive later be in the ascent that later the goal will be very important to me later?
R. It is possible you want to include many details here and there are many details, so I'm afraid to say because there are many different variations of this. No, let's leave this question for now, I can't answer in a concrete and accurate way, maybe try to break it down to a few questions and then I'll be able to answer it clearly and unequivocally.
S. He's trying to understand the mechanism of ascents and descents so he is saying whether it is right to say that whatever I feel that I am lacking during the descent, let's say for example I am missing the importance of the friends, I'm missing the importance of the goal, is that exactly going to be the same thing that I will acquire in the ascent more importance of the friends?
R. Yes and no, certainly this is how it will happen but not according to the same style.
18. S. (37:55) How does the 10 taste the flavor of darkness and in what way do we taste it?
R. Darkness appears and these are new vessels, broken vessels that have no connection with the system meaning the group and the Creator, and these records are felt as darkness. Because they have detached during the shattering from the vessel and therefore they have no light and what we need to do now is work on this state where the upper light meaning the Creator, connects these records and shines in them. That's it but there are several more conditions here that not just us, but the general system must also belong to these corrections and therefore it is not unequivocal. If I were to work with my records and the upper force, a broken vessel in the upper force that is not a problem, but there is great complexity here and it is broad and complex. I cannot answer you in a simple and direct, straightforward manner like you tell a child to do this and get that. But it does not work this way because we are in a broader system, here it's not just me and the Creator and the group and there are different conditions that are environmental situational conditions.
19. S. (40:16) Please tell us, If you reach a state where you do not expect any answer, you do not receive a reward, how can you measure whether you are advancing or not, and not standing still?
R. We measure our progress to the extent that we have disconnects from the connection and we try to overcome them and achieve connection. That's what's in front of me as the vessel that I can measure my spiritual progress.
20. S. (41:03) Is it the descents that make us progress?
R. To advance of course without the descents how would we advance? The descents open up our vessels that we haven't yet corrected which are on our path which are in line for us to advance, to correct. To advance by them and correct by them and that's how we do it. That's how we advance, these records are our entire life, without them we would not know what we are doing and we wouldn't even feel anything we feel is felt in the records. The difference between the records and the actual state is that the record is the true state but it is broken. There is a deficit there, there is a fall there that requires me to add my desire and my participation. It is like how we play with children, so we sometimes create such states and circumstances that the kid needs to add something and then there is a good result. So we prepare everything for him besides just a little bit of participation so that he can press something and succeed. This is the broken record that appears as it is said everything is ready for the feast but that little participation is what needs to be what needs to happen.

R. We don't need to look for just the negative in every state. When we feel the negative we need to be thankful when we have an ascent, we need to be thankful what the Creator presents to us and in a descent, we need to elevate it and realize that it comes to us as a place for work and not that during the descent we look for the ascent and vice versa. Now we want to realize the state that we are given by the Creator.
22. S. (44:26) We had to be closed up because of the result. How do we feel this closure? How do we protect ourselves from the results?
R. I don't plan to prepare according to the results, I just want to be more connected to the group and the Creator and whatever results happen I do not care. We do not work on results, we work on this state and the state has to be that Israel, the light and the Creator is one, only. Stop philosophizing about it. This result, that result and picking into that there are very simple matters for us ‘love covers all crimes’. Do this as much as possible in each and every state and this is sufficient for our progress and to not get confused.
23. S. (45:44) When we find ourselves in descents or ascents, what is the point in which we are not operated and respond but actually feel partners and want to resemble the Creator?
R. We exist in ups and downs in mutuality, we all want to feel that we are going through these states and even though some of the group may be in a descent and others in an ascent, we can be in different states but our general tendency is to be together and that gives us a shared result. So even though some go up in some go down and it typically happens that way in the group, in that direction that is what happens it is like how Earth has the Sun and light on one side and darkness on another side, but it is generally spinning. Or like a magnet there is no minus without a plus every state has its opposite. That's how we work also.
24. S. (47:13) In what are records that are scrutinized in the 10 different than others that have not been?
R. The records that we have processed correctly we leave them and we don't go back to them we always work on the states that he merges. We're not drawn to what already happened, we work with what appears.
25. S. (47:58) When a Kabbalist receives an accent or a descent or a fall, no matter what he receives it already with the restriction he has right?

R. Yes.

R. If you have this attitude, then go ahead and run away. It is not customary for us to escape the campaign, but rather deal with it. First of all, understand that you will never escape from the Creator, and that you are under His control. He gives you states that all stem from your spiritual state. Dividing your life into spirituality and corporeality won’t help you. You need to arrange your corporeal life according to custom, advance in your spiritual life, and see this as one mechanism. S. How can I run away, rise above, from the demands of my self-reception?
R. You can escape only through bestowal. More bestowal to the friends and more bestowal to the Creator. Devote both your corporeal and spiritual life to connection with the ten and the Creator. You have nothing else to do.
29. S. (55:35) Where is the turning point from an ascent to a descent?
R. A person usually doesn’t feel the point between an ascent and a descent. A brand new desire is opening in him and he begins to feel that he is in a new state already, but the point itself eludes him. This point comes from the depth of the general Kli of Adam HaRishon where we are not capable of seeing. We will receive impressions from it only after great corrections.

R. There is fear and a danger of receiving in order to receive when results from spiritual work and spiritual efforts are revealed, instead of receiving in order to bestow. We must be very cautious.

33. S. (01:06:38) We have a friend who is very sick with Covid19 and he is in critical condition and we are all praying for him. How can we pray for the friend’s life without expecting a result in this world? If we want our friends to live on and keep working with us in this world, how can we relate to that?
R. We can pray for the healing of the son of a friend, as well as for all the sick people in the world collectively, no matter who they are. We want to appeal to the general force, the Creator, for healing because He is called the Healer of all who are sick. Yes, you can think and pray about this in this way.
S. We are told to not expect results from our work. Isn’t praying for the son expecting a result?
R. This is not a result from any internal work between us. We are expecting Him to heal, this is the result we want. We want a certain healing for someone that is not with us spiritually. Yes, we can pray and think of him during the study, we can mention and remind each other of all our friends who need our help.
34. S. (01:09:28) How can I come out of the state where I feel independent and don’t need anyone?
R. Ascents are states where I appreciate and praise the Creator, to go before Him knowing He is great and has given my soul salvation. This is considered to be in a state of ascent. The state that you are talking about, if I understood your question, is actually a spiritual descent, it is egoistic. Leave the concern about the ascents and descents. You can obtain the right discernments in connection, whether you are close to holiness or not. These are concepts you can grasp.
35. S. (01:11:17) How can we increase the quality of our deficiency in the lesson?
R. Be as close as possible to the ten and continue with what you receive from them.

R. Let's say it is a psychological trick. We agreed that we are going to be connected and dependent upon one another, in ascents and also in descents. We are connected to one another, and between us and the Creator.

R. We don't need rituals. We need an agreement in our hearts, that without this, we won't become a group.

We compose the essence of the Creator specifically by gathering opposites. This is called ‘You have made Me’ meaning by this we stabilized and established the name of the Creator.
S. What does it mean that it is not in order to receive when we feel close and connected?
R. That we return to the state of one vessel to bring contentment to the Creator, that we made a place for Him to delight in what we have made for Him. He made a system that is only good for us and we seemingly broke it and are now assembling it under the condition that it will be good for the Creator. When it becomes good for the Creator, it will become good for us. This will not be like it was before, this will be something new, something 620 times greater than before because we are connecting for Him and not for us.
S. What is the opposite state where we come to connection and want it for ourselves?
R. This is the shattering of the vessels, called ‘the sin of the Tree of Knowledge.’
