Baal HaSulam. The Freedom (A Path of Torah and a Path of Suffering)

1.R. (03:35) We have very principal questions here about the management of the nation, the country, the world, who to follow. Maybe a small part of the nation can control the other parts, must a person agree to what goes against him, or should he bend himself and accept the view of the public, not only subjugating forcefully, here it is as if Torah obligates us. If you are against, you have to change yourself and be in favor. What is this all about, in what way are we connecting between us so that on the one hand, we are becoming connected. On the other hand, we are keeping all the multiple views, desires, history, of each and every one in order to bring us all to the corrected vessel of Adam HaRishon, corrected with all its intensity and not that each one will annul himself to all of the others, and what would we have then. 2. S. (08:14) What is the division that Baal HaSulam is referring to here between the society and the connection with the Creator?

R. There is a society under the laws of society and this is in a level that society can maintain and guard itself, bit by bit to raise itself to a spiritual degree. Some laws are about the correction of the soul, they are higher in a spiritual level where our behavior should be different and more special.

S. When does this division happen because we work in a society to reach this connection?

R. In order to reach but we're not in it and that's why we need to bit by bit elevate ourselves to a level.

S. It's not two states at once?

R. Well, how can you understand that the future of human society whether we want it or not, by the stages to advance but it will certainly advance to a whole connection between everyone. If this is correct how can we talk about it and tell all human beings if you start talking about it they will think you are a communist or delusional. What are you talking about, living in a commune where everyone is connected by love that no one seemingly has a personal life. Can you tell people about it, can you do this today? This is completely against what the wisdom of Kabbalah is telling us, that we have to connect that is correct, that we have to be as one man and one heart, that is correct. Everything is correct because we have to care only about the soul as bit by bit we are losing our corporeal part but that is according to your development, according to how much you are building an environment. How much the group becomes the entire humanity and how much the entire humanity starts understanding these things as higher things, as necessity and the only thing that you need to yearn for is that, certainly it doesn't go together corporeally and spiritually. This is why we have to act on both levels.

S. The Creator does use these KGB methods it seems, because if we don't want to advance on our own part he has other methods in due time.

R. That's not exactly true, it's called the path of suffering and it is not that you're about to acquire a higher degree and so this higher degree opens necessarily and then you feel the negative effects because you're not ready for it. Then it is as if you have come from first grade to second grade but that you haven't concluded the first one and you're not yet ready for the second grade. What is revealed is revealed in a way that you feel bad as you're not in the right place. It is because you have not attained the right preparation for the second degree and you are going through all kinds of states that you must correct yourself to the second grade. Whereas the Russians did not take that into account in our world, when we only act by force we don't have the upper light by which we can correct the person. We can forcefully act from below, not from the light that bestows from above. So what they did is they ruined it all as they thought they could forcefully do horrible things that they did. This is why we have to understand that only by the light that reforms, that appears by the study of Torah in the right way in the group, according to the development of a person we draw the light that reforms and he already makes corrections in us and according to the corrections we advance. In spirituality you can't go into a state that you want, you can only go into a state that you are ready for, meaning correct for. The equivalence of form has to be between the vessel of Adam and the light of the Creator, this is how they should appear in each and every degree, on the ladder of degrees.

S. In the connection that we do in the light that we draw, how does this allow humanity to be ready for the next degree?

R. We are part of humanity and the more that we connect in correct ourselves and feel more and more the changes in us, these changes go not because of us but due to the upper light that bestows on us. Bit by bit we are ready for more internal connections that we are in already but we just don't feel them practically and there is a difference between potentially and actually. Potentially we are in spirituality, theoretically we are there already but actually in practice we can't yet act. That’s how we will advance.

S. In these states that we are potentially there, how does this help humanity to advance and want to get to the next degree?

R. We are part of humanity, we have no opportunity to run away from our role and we must simply see that what we do, we do in order to correct humanity. Just like he writes to us in the article of Arvut and a few other places as it is explained by Baal HaSulam and Rabash. Our main role is to worry for humanity and to bring it to connection as ultimately in sum total we are Israel, those who are yearning to the Creator because we received the point in the heart from Him. Meaning the capability to yearn and then we reach some connection with Him and we must carry after us all of humanity and we have no choice. We must show all of humanity what is the path and to be the leaders despite that that is not simple but it is an obligation. Like he writes, the nation of the past, meaning Israel, straight to the Creator, those who have such a desire does not depend on nationality or skin color, those who must recognize this and bring themselves to the correct role and to be this transition between the entire world and the Creator. Actually this is like ZaATof Bina, the lower part of Bina, the upper part of Bina belongs to Keter Hochma Bina but the lower part of Bina is already the transition of those parts of GAR, Keter Hochma Bina to ZA and Malchut so we are with you like ZAT of Bina that we must be connected on one hand to the upper forces, to the Creator and on the other hand to the desires of the lower ones of ZON and to see in this our role. We must simply be obligated to everyone, both humanity and the Creator as this is our work, our place and our role and we hope that we fulfill it.

3. S. (19:26) It says we should consider freedom of the individual and then it says that when it comes to Torah and Mitzva we should consider the collective that this is for everybody, so who do we consider the individual or the collective?

R. Both this and that, it is up to us to take it into account and to know how to work with the individual in the meantime is only between us and to work with the general is our work in the dissemination of the wisdom of Kabbalah to the entire world, to the extent that they are willing and capable of digesting and accepting it.

R. 6. S. (26:26) Humanity itself, can it affect its own development?

R. No, humanity can only suffer but from within this there's no point in the heart as there is in each and every one of us, it's not in connection with the Godly system and thus it is not capable only from the suffering to reach the solution because there is nothing that ties between the suffering and the point of the heart and so only we must be here in the middle and that is the role called the nation of Israel.

7. S. (27:32) Is the majority that is undeveloped and the minority that is developed, does it happen in the 10 in Bnei Baruch or only in the general society?

R. We accept all the people who want to learn the wisdom of Kabbalah, the method of revelation of the Creator to the created beings in this world, we open the door to everyone. We want to advertise what we know about the purpose of creation, but the purpose of man also to everyone and we have no limitation on this as Baal HaSulam writes, it is equal to all. The difference is that the person determines how much he has a deficiency, a desire, a yearning and accordingly he enters and progresses or maybe does not enter at all. This is what we need to perform, to build such systems of entrance to us from all sorts of directions that everyone can come close, can come near. Don't look at each individual, what somebody is doing and some group, all sorts of groups sprouting, “studying the wisdom of Kabbalah”, “spirituality”, we need to learn according to our method from Baal HaSulam and Rabash. What will happen is already from above.

S. Do our tens also divide into a part that is more divided and a majority that is less developed?

R. It can be that way it is true, but it is not the tens, because in any case there are those who are veterans, those who have a lot of experience on the path and those who are less experienced but with respect to the general vessel, I would say it is not important. The world belongs to the young, meaning as much as we have friends who are younger on the path that they are more important and we need to specifically advance them.

8. S. (30:37) What happened to Russia was a result of what? Is there room to make mistakes here?

R. I don't think we can be mistaken in this, the world already went through that point to learn that, it had to learn about communism that was in Russia and along with all the rest of the methods that were in all different places, in suppression of man's nature in a manner like it was in Russia. I think this time has already passed and now before us there is truly an opportunity to progress by the scrutiny in the society, meaning as much as we connect and scrutinize these matters we will correctly advance.

9. S. (31:49) The world belongs to the young people, how do we collect all the young people in Bnei Baruch and what is their role?

R. Youth means by the spirit, not necessarily the age and this is how we need to see it, it is written about this, what to do with kids who have grown old, yes they are still kids but they have grown old and the opposite could be. We need to advance, to be able to build systems for them that they will enter and incorporate and we need to expand our dissemination that we will reach states that even people who have a desire or deficiencies for spiritual development that they should also incorporate with us.
