Rabash 195. The Association of the Quality of Judgment with Mercy

1. Rav’s Introduction: Yes we have two forces, the will to receive and the will to bestow. Both of them come from the Creator. One the Creator awakens according to His plan, this is the will to receive which awakens in each and every one and in all of us. The will to bestow is what we can already ask of the Creator, that He will give it to us, that He will have mercy over us, and He will bestow to us all kinds of different forms. These two different forces actually develop us, direct us, and lead us to the goal. With the right association between judgment and mercy, the force of reception and the force of bestowal, coarseness, and refinement we advance.

3. R. (07:27) This means the association of judgment with mercy. These are two opposing forces that exist in nature that give us the ability to connect to the upper one, to a state that we do not feel that exists above our degree. So how is this done? How do we ascend from degree to degree?

R. But this is the best of the person himself. That he inside of himself can receive darkness and light, judgment and mercy, it does not matter which actions these are from the upper one. If he receives them equally than he builds himself, and this is the middle line.

S. How can I receive it? 

R. It does not matter to me what I receive, the most important thing is that I try to remain in adhesion with the upper one upon all of the states.

11. (19:11) In faith above reason what is faith and what is reason? 

R. Reason is the will to receive, faith is the will to bestow. That I elevate myself from Malchut to Bina means that I elevate myself from reason to faith. 

12. S. (19:46) We heard that it is better if you think about yourself not in the work but in scrutinizing the article otherwise you take several things and it’s not clear what to do with them.

R. Because you do not yet know all of the elements, the inputs that you have between you and the ten and so you might get confused. R. No, the upper makes a restriction but the restriction that comes from the upper one is that the upper one restricts Himself according to how He designs himself in relation to the lower one. 

S. It says that the lower receives knowledge only to the extent of the faith. What is knowledge to the extent of the faith?

R. That he will have two lines so that he will be able to build the middle line. 

S. Can you elaborate on this? 

R. We first of all need to acquire the line of faith, that we are seemingly going with our eyes shut, under restriction, and we try to be in adhesion without knowledge. Later on when we are given knowledge, when the state becomes more revealed than that state we accept as an addition to what we had before. Meaning we already use our will to receive so that it will be in order to bestow, and this is how we advance. Think about this more and more and you will see how we should approach this.

14. S. (24:32) It says that he regrets and because of it there is room for the lower one to slender which is called raising MAN which the lower one raises. Slandering is raising MAN?

R. No. 

S. So how should I understand that?

R. Raising MAN means that the lower raises a deficiency to the upper one and he wants the upper one to help him correct these deficiencies because then the lower will be able to work in order to bestow. This is called raising MAN.

The upper one gives the conditions and all kinds of hints and states and the lower one than needs to organize them and connect them correctly and raise them to the upper one and certainly everything is resolved through the help from above, from the upper one to the lower one.

S. The first phase he describes is this the phase called Katnut, smallness or infancy? The first stage, when he says in the beginning when he describes the matter of concealment when the lower one cannot see the greatness of the upper one. 

R. This is Katnut, the smallness.

S. When do we come to Katnut or are we in Katnut already?

R. It is a bitter state because the host is not pleased with that state, and we are not pleased with that state. In that state we are seemingly disconnected from each other, we are not giving or receiving from each other and what should come out of this we are going to leave the meeting with the host, and we just go home? This is a bitter state and the host keeps on pressuring us meaning he is raising in us a greater desire to receive and we are drawn to receive as much as possible and we have to raise our restriction, and the connection between us in order to withstand the host and tell him that we do not want to receive in order to receive from you but only with the condition that you give us the possibility to receive in order to bestow. So he tells us I am willing to give you, but you are willing to receive or not and then we have to enter an even stronger connection between us in order to establish the screen and then after we felt that we are able to go to him in such a state to receive in order to bestow then we do it. 19. S. (39:29) What is this concept of judgment and mercy? Is this a vessel we have to build, or do we receive it from above?

R. This is something we have to establish inside us, in our relations to the friends, in relation to the Creator, out of the desire to receive we build these relationships, the association of judgment and mercy. 

S. It sounds like two extremes both judgment and mercy at the same time. 

R. Yes, because on the one hand if you get help from the Creator and on the other hand we also receive all kinds of burdening, and this is how we grow.

S. Is this wholeness and perfection if I managed to attain this state of both judgment and mercy together in the same vessel, is this considered wholeness? 

R. Yes, of course.

S. Is it the three lines and everything related to that?

R. Yes.

20. S. (40:48) What is, what it says here that the lower one restricts the left line of the upper one?

R. It is when the lower one wants to enter more into connection by this it restricts the influence of the left of the upper one on itself.

21. S. (41:36) When five out of ten friends create a field out of those small screens does this influence the whole ten or the whole ten have to bring their small screens into this?

R. It is both, of course you can work with five out of ten, but you also do not want to forget about the others.

R. Yes every new degree is more love and more effort more action we could say. 

25. S. (44:20) What independent action can the lower one perform if everything is done by the upper one?

R. An independent action of the lower is that even though the upper one does everything the lower should seemingly organize and arrange the work of the upper one and the created being says and the Creator does as the person says and the Creator does it.

26. S. (45:05) Does the lower one receive the deficiency thanks to the work in annulling the ego of the upper one?

R. Annulling the ego of the upper one? I do not know what that is about it does not sound right. 

27. S. (45:29) Does the restriction or concealment that happens after the faith becomes in the lower one knowledge is this by the lower one or the upper one?

R. All the actions are done by the upper one if the lower one is ready for it.

28. S. (45:53) It says in the article that it is not his fault that he doesn't feel taste or liveliness but according to his view there is no liveliness in spirituality what is this state?

R. That he is in nature and can do as he decides, and the results will be as he decides.

29. S. (46:18) I want to justify the Creator and see him as great what to do what is the first step where do I begin? 

R. You have to annul yourself to the group.

30. S. (46:32) What is the relation between agreeing with everything that the Creator gives us and working in faith above reason and adhering to the upper one.

R. Again.

S. To agree with everything the Creator is giving us is this the same as going with faith above reason and adhering? 

R. Yes 

31. S. (46:58) Why is there a contradiction between the right line and the left line when the Gadlut appears in the upper one towards the lower one?

R. Because we are already beginning to work with vessels of reception.

32. S. (47:16) Is the judgment realized when the lower one is not working in annulment?

R. If the lower one does not work in annulment then neither judgment no mercy are realized it’s just the degree simply does not exist.

33. S. (47:39) It says that the upper one is also diminished later on by the lower one this is regarding as Masach de Hirik, what is the Masach de Hirik

R. Masach de Hirik is the middle line when we diminish ourselves and come into contact between them when they are diminished and come into contact between them then it increases the place between them.

34. S. (48:12) How to feel myself both as the upper one and the lower one with respect to whom does this happen?

R. These questions are more complicated, and we cannot scrutinize them ask it again.

(51:07) In the example of Rabash in the preparation to the lesson Rabash said that a person receives an orchard, but he does not have the strength to work it is a very tangible example where do we get the strength to work with these orchards the Creator is giving us and what are these orchards?

R. Only from the society from helping one other whereas there is no power in society, but each can act before the others and when the friend sees it for him the acting becomes truth and then through envy lust and honor he begins to become similar to the friend who is acting and then for him it's no longer acting and in this way they help each other where nobody has anything but each through the efforts can awaken everyone.

39. S. (52:03) How do we rise and overcome states that hurt the inner connection in the ten? 

R. Connection the connection at least in some way we have a goal however we turn it maybe understand maybe we do not but the Creator organized us in a group Baal HaSulam writes that our world is entering all of it is entering into a state called The Last Generation where all of us will have to become connected to each other whether we want it or not but now providence will constantly be revolving around connection between all the people in the world you will see how countries and societies all kinds of parties in all the countries all kinds of blocks socialists different societies everyone will be in this turmoil in this whirlpool of connecting and influencing one other and conflicting with one other and these things each day they will become juicier and more burning because everything will approach connection among everyone so scrutinizing what state we are in how contradictory we are how much we do not want to hear about each other how much we engage in things that are seemingly different from each other until they see through the collision between them that there is no difference between them but in fact it does not matter what they do what they engage in because all in all we are talking about the levels of connection between us like in a family each one has his own duty and role each one grew up in his own profession or occupation but we have something that connects us which is the family so we would grow together and understand one other better and feel one other better and build an atmosphere and an environment where we can advance when we can exist from day to day and it does not matter what mommy does what daddy does where the kids go and what they do but there is something besides the personal engagements of each one there is a connection between and that connection is called family and it does not matter if each one of the family members has his own engagements elsewhere but inside we are connected and this is also how we have to see in the connection between us there are thousands and thousands of societies and parties and all kinds of not to mention countries in the world and all of us have to nevertheless feel that we are in one system one family even though each one has his own engagements outside of this system but there is something that unites us that we are one family and in that family we do not decide what personal engagement each will do what is important for us is that we nevertheless feel ourselves as a family as something that is dependent on each other connected to each other and from day to day we should see how providence nature our evolution are tying us together more and more and we are becoming more and more dependent on each other and we have no way to escape from each other and this way we need to feel ourselves in this inclination we have to write about it more and more until humanity sees that there is no choice nature is pushing us to know the system that we are one family and then we will truly start to see in each one of the people in the world how much he does belong to this family and out of this we will establish new relationships between us it will solve many problems in our spiritual development because this is really what the Creator requires of us.
