Part 1: Baal HaSulam. Introduction to The Book of Zohar. #25

Reader: Shalom, we're reading from the writings of Baal HaSulam. Page 438 in the Hebrew book, reading item 25 in the “Introduction to the Book of Zohar.” You can find the study material in Kabbalahgroup.info and on the Arvut system. You can also send your questions to those websites. Anyone asking a question here in the study hall is asked to stand up, hold the microphone close to his mouth, and speak loudly and clearly. “Writings of Baal HaSulam, item 25 in the introduction to the Book of Zohar.”

Reading Item 25: (00:51) “From here emerges the full resolution…”

M. Laitman: (06:01) Are there any questions? No? Let us continue.

Reading Item 26: (06:06) “We have already stated that the first…”

Student: (08:37) We heard that all these corrections bring us to the degree of the soul and not to the body, which he calls the excessive will to receive. Now here he says, nevertheless, this excessive body, which he calls the will to receive, must be revived again and resurrected. Why if it is going to disappear, it must be corrected?

M. Laitman: I do not know, this is what he writes, that is it. There is a lot that we might think here but this is what he says. Apparently, we do not know how the body is corrected and how the soul is corrected.

Reading Item 27: (09:54) “Indeed, there cannot be revival…”

M. Laitman: (12:05) Are there any questions?

Student: (12:10) What does it mean to remove, to remove completely?

M. Laitman: Well, to take out.

Student: The reality of the will to receive will disappear completely, so there is no such thing, it is our foundation, the will to enjoy.

M. Laitman: To remove it completely, this is what he writes. That we need to go away from it, not to want to use our will to receive.

Student: How will we enjoy?

M. Laitman: What will we enjoy, I do not know, he says that there is a will to bestow and the will to receive can enjoy from the will to bestow. These are things that we have not attained yet.

Student: (13:10) We read about the excessive will to receive; it’s mentioned here several times. Also, great pleasures, not to say eternal pleasures. What if a person feels that his will to receive is small?

M. Laitman: We are not talking about the will to receive that we feel here and now while we exist in this world. Rather this is about people who already have acquired this excessive, great will to receive, and from there they come to corrections.

Student: What is excessive and great?

M. Laitman: That it wants to enjoy, to fill itself.

Student: But let's say that even in that, he feels himself small, too small for earning these great pleasures. He feels himself a small egoist.

M. Laitman: Yes?

Student: How will he receive these great pleasures?

M. Laitman: He needs to grow.

Student: We also hear that the Creator grows the desire, so how can a person be responsible for his desire?

M. Laitman: For as much as a person wants to correct the will to receive in him, he discovers more and more that the will to receive grows instead of diminishing. Until he reaches a state where the will to receive becomes excessive, as he says here, and then he already continues through the light of the Torah, to take care of the will to receive and correct it to be in order to bestow, and he reaches his purpose.

Student: (15:15) If in the spiritual path, we correct each time a small portion of the will to receive, that's true?

M. Laitman: No, on the spiritual path, well? Starting from what point?

Student: Crossing the barrier from when a person enters spirituality.

M. Laitman: So, he feels his will to receive growing all the time.

Student: Does he have constant corrections?

M. Laitman: Corrections, yes.

Student: What is the correction, he's correcting his intention in order to bestow.

M. Laitman: Through the reforming light.

Student: Yet each time he's making small corrections, small portions.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: What is the revival of the dead if each time he's working on a small portion?

M. Laitman: That the will to receive grows, even though the person rises above it.

Student: Each time he corrects a small part, he grows, and he corrects a small portion. What is the revival of the dead, what's to revive if each time he's correcting a small portion?

M. Laitman: He corrects his will to receive and inverts it to be in order to bestow, and by that, he reaches a state where what he writes.

Student: Revival of the dead is a result of all the small corrections along the way, or it's a small, it's an additional action after everything?

M. Laitman: The revival of the dead is an action that comes at the end of the corrections. When a person corrects himself and discovers that his will to receive was so excessive that he could not overcome, he could not overcome it and then the Creator corrects it.

Student: He constantly has corrections; the Creator corrects him all the time. What's in the end that's not found along the way, on the ladder?

M. Laitman: There is such a measure of the will to receive that is revealed to such an extent that the person is unable to rise above it, to overcome it.

Student: Beforehand, he was capable of doing it?

M. Laitman: Beforehand, yes, in all the previous degrees before the last one, he was able to overcome the will to receive.

Student: What is this final action, what's happening in this final action?

M. Laitman: That the will to receive has grown to its final form, so the person is incapable of overcoming it. And here already that is in each and every state there is a certain association, participation here between the person and the Creator. By both of them together, the will to receive is diminished after it grows. On the last degree, the will to receive already does not diminish itself. One cannot, one is incapable of it, and the Creator does this work in wholeness.

Student: When we say the excess of the will to receive that's revealed, is there a leap, like each time the ego grows and, in the end, it suddenly revealed in its entirety?

M. Laitman: No, just that this degree is such that a person does not have the forces to overcome it.

Student: Why, specifically, in this action he lacks the powers?

M. Laitman: Because the will to receive reaches a state where it is greater than all the previous desires. And it shows itself to a person in a way that the person sees that he does not have the possibility to overcome it.

Student: Then there's the revival of the dead on this action?

M. Laitman: Well, let us see what he will write.

Student: (20:18) He writes here that in the beginning, we need to remove completely until the final end. The question is if we receive a small portion of the will to receive, do we remove it?

M. Laitman: Yes, and so on?

Student: Later we have to work with it, or are we simply removing it, and we're not working with the will to receive until the end?

M. Laitman: All of the work is in that we do not use it; we discover how much it is unworthy for the work.

Student: The ascent is constantly in annulment, there are no corrections, seemingly.

M. Laitman: These are the corrections.

Reading Item 28: (21:23) "Our sages said the dead are destined…"

Reading Item 29: (23:45) "Now we can resolve the above second…”

Student: (27:30) What are the shells?

M. Laitman: The will to receive that is in order to receive and has no limits.

Student: He says there is a fulfillment there called the Sitra Achra, the other side, so the Klipot, the shells, are like a vessel and there is a filling called Sitra Achra, the other side. What is that?

M. Laitman: The will to receive, the will to receive that constantly grows and wants to fill itself up. This is how it lives and grows if a person does not work on it, and doesn’t correct it.

Student: According to what I read, it's a necessary part of the process of correction, meaning a person has to get to this thing called Klipot, shells. From it, he receives the Sitra Achra, the other side. Then there is a situation where, on the one hand, he must have it and on the other hand, it risks him. If he does not overcome it through Torah and Mitzvot and purifies the will to receive, to turn it into bestowal, one's will to receive expands throughout one's life until eventually, he dies with obtaining but half his wishes. He gets stuck in this place he has to go through, forever, he can be stuck there forever.

M. Laitman: Where does this appear there?

Student: He says, “If it does not overcome through Torah and Mitzvot and purifies the will to receive, to turn it into bestowal, one's will to receive expands throughout one's life until, eventually, he dies without obtaining but half his wishes. This is regarded as being under the authority of the Sitra Achra and the shells.”

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: What will determine if a person can overcome through Torah and Mitzvot? What is Torah and Mitzvot? It's a question, but what determines if you can overcome them or get stuck in that stage?

M. Laitman: This is what is written, as much as we understand it from our state, well, that is how much we will understand, and as much as we do not, we do not. You want that while we are maybe a thousand degrees below what he is writing about, you want to understand what he is writing about.

Student: Shells and Sitra Achra, the other side, is something we can point to in our state and say, this is this, this is that this is something we can do?

M. Laitman: Our will to receive in order to receive is called Klipa, shell.

Student: Ours are, meaning those are on a spiritual path.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: During our preparation for receiving the quality of the bestowal, we are seemingly in the Klipot?

M. Laitman: Yes, we are in the shells. Well, shells are not quite where we are, the shells are states that are much worse, but we are already in it.

Student: (31:03) In the first division, there's no correction, only to acquire the excessive will to receive? We're talking about the spiritual desire, right? Before a person attains the entire exaggerated will to receive, he's always in the Klipot, he doesn't correct anything.

M. Laitman: The shells are actually the desires that have to enter every person according to the root of his soul. As much as they are able to enter him, they build the person.

Student: What's strange is that there's no correction.

M. Laitman: But there will be a correction, later on.

Student: Ultimately there is no correction.

M. Laitman: Well, there is a correction on the path, but the first stage is that the person must be under the control of the shells.

Student: (32:11) What does it mean that he's filled by the shells?

M. Laitman: They bring him a filling.

Student: What kind of filling?

M. Laitman: A filling, the will to receive.

Student: It’s not clear, we say the shells, are the will to receive in order to receive?

M. Laitman: Yes, so to fill the will to receive in order to receive, what fills it is called, the shell.

Student (Asia): (32:47) What is the difference between the Creator's desire to bestow goodness to the created being in the first state? And His desire to benefit the created being in the third state?

M. Laitman: The Creator's desire is always one. To bring the created beings to complete correction.

Question (Women PT 23): (33:14) It says that “The first state necessitates the revival of the dead.” What does that mean?

M. Laitman: That, along the way to the complete correction the desires of a person must show themselves as corrupted. A person must discover that, and later on, he should correct them.

Student: Specifically, in the first state?

M. Laitman: No, not in the first state but throughout the entire way.

Question (Moscow): (33:55) It says, “And because of that the destiny of the body is to die, to be buried, and to rot.” What does it mean in the rotting of the body? Does it mean the will to receive for itself and not the beastly body?

M. Laitman: Of course, the will to receive must undergo corrections. Corrections, in that the person discovers how bad it is, how contemptible it is. How much it is his enemy, and to that extent he distances himself from using it, from the smallest desires to the greatest desires. Later on, he even receives desires to correct the will to receive, so that the person asks for forces in order to correct it and invert it to a will to bestow.

Question (Women Turkey 7): (35:03) Are we correcting our soul, first, in the study and then the body? Is there a difference between correcting the soul and correcting the body?

M. Laitman: There is no such thing that we correct the body, we correct the soul. We correct the will to receive that is revealed as in order to receive. And through the reforming light, we correct it to be in order to bestow.

Student: (35:43) If the intention grows, does that mean that the will to receive grows?

M. Laitman: Everything depends on the intention.

Student: Not using in order to receive, actually, grows the will to bestow?

M. Laitman: Not using?

Student: Without using the will to receive, when a person is not receiving for himself, it grows in him, the will to bestow?

M. Laitman: I would not say that.

Student: What's the connection between the intention and the desire? I want to grow my desire to bestow.

M. Laitman: Then you have to pray that the Creator will assist you in increasing your desire to bestow, your intention to bestow, overcoming the will to receive.

Student: But the immediate thing I can do is to want not to receive, to close myself. Does that also grow the will to bestow?

M. Laitman: No, these are two systems.

Student: (37:04) He writes that “His will to receive is expanding throughout the years of his life until a person dies without obtaining but half of his wishes.” He tells us a process that we have to go through and that is in order to produce, for a person, all the material he has to work in and correct. In other words, this process is for the benefit of man, as he writes.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: We learn that we need to ask, to pray, what are we asking for? If a person is inside a process which is generally a positive one and he's advancing. When he's in this process, he discovers some unpleasantness in the will to receive, what is he asking for?

M. Laitman: The will to receive asks only to be enlarged and filled. If you are talking about the will to receive, if you are talking about a person, that is something else. In a person there is also the will to bestow, the feeling of the Creator, these are other results, already.

Student: In the request when we ask, as we read here, there is a very positive process, an essential process he describes here. That the will to receive has to develop and reach all of its full weight, I'm not sure what to call it. How not to bring into our requests any complaints or disagreements. How can we ask and also agree at the same time, is my question correct?

M. Laitman: I do not know exactly; I do not understand.

Student: Meaning, if I ask for something, how can I make sure that, maybe I'm in a point where I disagree with something? But rather I can’t do it, and I ask Him to change it. Here, he is telling us that we are in a process which is necessary, mandated, and it's good for us. I'm asking, when we ask, how do we not bring in any complaints but rather ask and agree with the process?

M. Laitman: We agree with the process because the Creator created us this way, He wants us to go through it. But it is not like I'm happy about it, and I am asking for this process. I am asking for one thing only and that is to overcome the will to receive in me.

Student: I want to get rid of my will to receive, and what he writes here is that nevertheless, the will to receive in me is essential in order to go through the process. So, why would I ask to get rid of it?

M. Laitman: Nevertheless, you have to grow in it, feel it, understand it, and work with it.

Student: I should ask that it will be revealed even more, more of my will to receive?

M. Laitman: That is natural, that is how we are asking, naturally.

Student: (41:11) After we completely remove the excessive will to receive, is the correction then done at once, meaning reaching equivalence of form?

M. Laitman: No, all the corrections are gradual. Wherever you reveal something, there you correct it.

Student: (41:50) You answered one of the questions, and you said that on the way to the complete correction, the desires of a person must show themselves as corrupted, and a person must discover it, and then He corrects them. What does it mean that a person discovers his corrupted desires, what does it mean that he asks for correction?

M. Laitman: A person reveals his corrupted desires, and he corrects them by turning to the Creator, and the Creator corrects them.

Student: How does he detect that they are corrupted?

M. Laitman: They are revealed in this way, opposite to the purpose of creation, and a person discovers them. And what he does, according to the degree of his revelation, he sees that these desires are in the wrong role and that he asks the Creator to correct them.

Student: (43:18) What I understood from the text is that if a person does not correct but rather, he chases pleasures. He receives 100, he now wants 200, and the will to receive grows. But if he corrects them, the desire also grows.

M. Laitman: So?

Student: It grows either way?

M. Laitman: The will to receive must grow if a person corrects it and each time the will to receive grows, a person corrects it. That is how he climbs through the path of bestowal to the Creator and if he does not correct it, the will to receive grows more and more. If the person fails to correct it and the person dies, as it's written, “with only half his desires fulfilled.”

Student: It's not like he'll still advance, or will he have to repeat everything?

M. Laitman: In the same way that the will to receive grows, a person corrects it, or he is under its control.

Student: The desire grows but he didn't correct it, rather he went along with it. Will he have to repeat everything from the beginning?

M. Laitman: It is not written, for now, nothing like that is written. The question remains.

Question (KabU 4): (44:44) On the same topic: If a person dies, the desire that he had is not filled. So, do we have to fill the desire in order to correct it?

M. Laitman: I guess that same desire enters into other people, exists in them, gets corrected in them.

Student: Essentially, if it is corrected, it means that we filled this desire in the right way.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: (45:18) We also have a question: Does it mean to get rid of the will to receive, does it mean to change the intention of that desire?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: (45:29) What is the difference between a desire that I know exists inside of me, and it's negative? That same desire where it has already been actualized, realized in the society?

M. Laitman: I do not know what it means to be realized in the society, in order to bestow?

Student: No, the opposite, in order to receive towards others, I have a desire within me, let's say, for control. There is a state where it is dormant inside of me and there is a state where it is actually doing something bad. What is the difference between these two relations?

M. Laitman: That depends on your own recognition of evil.

Student: Can we say that the desire inside of me, which is dormant, I shouldn't operate with it because I can't identify it? The Correction?

M. Laitman: The correction is according to how you identify the bad in you.

Student: It should be directed towards lack of correction in the society, in the connections with others?

M. Laitman: Generally speaking, yes.

Student (MAK 4): (47:00) You started to talk about the recognition of evil, so I have a question. Is the enlargement of the will to receive related to the recognition of evil?

M. Laitman: As the will to receive grows, accordingly, his evil inclination grows. Also, his recognition of evil grows and his ability to correct the evil, grows.

Student: In order to reach a complete quota, is it enough that it will be revealed inside of the person? Or does it require a connection between a certain number of desires?

M. Laitman: In order for the will to receive to see itself in all its final form, we need to prepare our vessels for it. Because it is not enough for me to want it to happen, like a small child, I need to be ready and to be prepared to receive the will to receive and not that it drops me into its entirety. I have to rely on environmental forces and external forces, in order to receive support and help and to ask for the will to bestow, so there will be something with which to balance this growing will to receive.

Student: If a person feels his desire, and he has a certain amount of recognition of evil, is this considered as a flaw or a lack?

M. Laitman: It is still on the way, keep going, it is always good to control the will to receive and to see where you can turn it. Like riding a horse, riding a horse.

Student: That is, to correct all the desires that are revealed in me in the direction of bestowal?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question: (Kyiv): (49:45) How to correctly behave with the will to receive to manage it, to balance it, like you said, with the will to bestow?

M. Laitman: It is to arrange oneself facing the Creator and wanting to receive from Him both the good and the bad equally which is tough. And work with whatever you are receiving in order to bestow.

Student: How do I position myself face-to-face with the Creator?

M. Laitman: It is hard to hear, I am sorry.

Question (Turkey 2): (50:35) How does the will to receive of a person become purified completely?

M. Laitman: How does a person's will to receive?

Student: Reaching purification, how is it purified entirely? How do we do it?

M. Laitman: By praying to the Creator together with the Ten and then walking forward and receiving the reforming light and then his will to receive is corrected. Generally speaking, you can say that.

Question (Holland): (51:29) We learned to come above our corrupted state. We discover our corrupted state and we come above it all the time. Many times, we can achieve this but now we come to such an excessive state that we cannot. What is this point where we fail to correct it, what must we do then?

M. Laitman: Ask the Creator to give us strength we have no one else to turn to but the Creator. Ask the Creator to give us strength, to correct us, and that is how we will reach the goal.

Student: Can we call that also the failing is not asking the Creator?

M. Laitman: Yes, certainly.

Student: In that state, what can we do then?

M. Laitman: When we do not turn to the Creator that is the beginning of all failures. That is the cause of all failures, the reason for all of them.

Student: Is that the turning point you need to come to, that you don't ask the Creator in a certain moment?

M. Laitman: When a person starts to turn to the Creator that is already a good sign it is a good state.

Question (Czechoslovak 4): (53:36) What is the procedure of correction? If I have a will to receive for myself, do I have to want all the friends to feel it?

M. Laitman: I don't have to disclose it. There are states where maybe I should, but I have to turn it into an order to bestow. How do I turn to the Creator in prayer with a request for Him to turn my will to receive into a will to receive with the intention of in order to bestow.

Question (Latin 7): (54:28) How does the Ten help us achieve the soul in the third state? How does the Ten help us attain the soul in the third state?

M. Laitman: All of the degrees we climb are only to the extent that we connect, and we incorporate into one another and to the extent that we get closer to the Creator.

Question (Baltia 1): (55:24) How to diminish the desire? Do I understand correctly that this actually means the building of a screen? Building a screen?

M. Laitman: Yes, the building of the screen.

Question (Baltia 4): (55:53) The recognition of evil is the first degree in the correction of the bad?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: And the next degrees, what are they? Correction is to raise a prayer or what else do we need to do?

M. Laitman: We need to understand in what way are we overcoming the revelation of this evil and in what way are we asking the Creator to turn our evil into good. So on and so forth, these are the degrees.

Question (Beer Sheva): (56:42) The person is a structure of body and soul and the connection between them. Here we read many items I don't want to read, but many items talk about that, that in fact the person, the body finishes its 70 years, and it perishes and disappears in order to leave room for the soul to continue in its way. The new body which is created that was created in order to complete the correction. Is this the connection that the shells give us? They connect the soul which has already been corrected in the new body, which is born with new qualities and new desires.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (PT 6): (57:42) Why would I ask the Creator for anything before I reached restriction? Because anyway whatever He'll give me I'll take it for myself. So, first I have to have a restriction?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (PT 33): (58:09) I heard in the beginning of the lesson that you answered the friend that until the barrier we don't have a will to receive in this kind of work that we read about now. So, my question is, whether we can even make or perform any corrections before the barrier?

M. Laitman: Everything is corrections.

Student: My question is, how does the Creator bring us to the barrier?

M. Laitman: The barrier is some form of a beginning of a spiritual ascent.

Question (Women Heb 3): (59:00) The more we have recognition of evil and prayer, do we have a greater chance that we will harm the friends less, or the internality can hurt the friends even that way?

M. Laitman: Both.

Question (W. Moscow 6): (59:25) How do we prepare ourselves to the will to receive and not miss out on the opportunity to turn to the Creator for correction?

M. Laitman: That's only in a group where we learn from one another. The main thing in the group work is that as we advance toward the end of the path the group work becomes higher, more special, more exalted.

Question (Bulgaria 1): (01:00:10) I heard you answered the friend from Kyiv and you told him that we need to ask the Creator to accept equally the bad as well as the good. How can we ask for the bad as well as the good, because the Creator is good and doing good?

M. Laitman: No, we need to ask only for the good. How can a person ask for bad?

Student: Exactly. What does it mean that we are willing to receive from the Creator both the bad and the good equally?

M. Laitman: We are willing to receive everything from the Creator. Only as long as he sends us something. This way we can approach Him.

Student: It's a relative thing that we receive the bad?

M. Laitman: We receive only the good. You can't receive the bad from the Creator.

Question (W. Latin 10): (01:02:00) On the 28th it said that the new work begins when the excessive desire, the excessive will to receive connects with the will to bestow, and this new work begins each time that we discover the corrupted will to receive or what does it mean in that text?

M. Laitman: Maybe she can ask again. Please ask again. Repeat, please.

M. Laitman: I did not understand the question.

Student: Asking about next we embark on a new kind of labor to insert all that excessive will to receive in the form of bestow, then it is healed.

M. Laitman: So what's the question?

Student: The question is, this new work begins when the corrupted state is revealed or what is it trying to tell us here?

Student: She's talking about the corruptions, does the new work start each time that the corruption is revealed and the will to receive, or maybe that it means something else here?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: (W. Türkiye 10): (01:03:39) How can I detect the desire that grows within me as a spiritual desire? What actually is a spiritual desire?

M. Laitman: A spiritual desire, is a desire for connection with friends, with all of humanity, and with the Creator into one single system. Nothing leaves that, everything, nothing exists outside of it, everything exists in that system and a person is willing to bestow to that system everything it needs. This is called a spiritual desire.

Student: (01:04:49) He says that a person does not die without his wishes in his hands. The end of the work it's called half a Shekel, the other half we get from the Creator. So, what is a full Shekel? What is the complete last or wish that a person needs called a full Shekel that we have to reach?

M. Laitman: I don't know, a Holy Shekel, a certain measure, a person needs to raise toward the Upper force.

Student: Why in the work does he emphasize the half? Half innocent, half guilty, etc.

M. Laitman: The other half the Creator completes.

Student: But why does it have to be exactly a half? As it says, he dies with only half his wishes or half the Shekel. What's special about half?

M. Laitman: Only a person is capable of that.

Student: What does it mean the person can only do that?

M. Laitman: That's how it is, we'll learn about it for the time being, remember that.

Reading Item 30 : (01:06:28) "The second division is from 13 years…"

M. Laitman: (01:09:09) Questions? Or maybe read it again?

Rereading Item 30: (01:09:15) The second division is from 13 years…”

Question: (01:11:53) We can reach this excessive will to receive through what we're doing between us in the work right now?

M. Laitman: I don't know, try.

Student: When do we reach this excessive will to receive? After we enter spirituality or before that?

M. Laitman: What is he writing?

Student: I don't manage to understand it.

M. Laitman: What are you going to tell him? When does a person receive an excessive will to receive?

Student: (01:12:30) No, I joined his question because the moment that I've entered the process of correction everything around it I no longer relate to them. The corporeal feelings, it's not important for me anymore. I just put it aside. So, what is excessive? What is an excessive will to receive?

M. Laitman: It's big without any limits.

Question: (01:13:05) According to this order, why don't we see that the richest people come here, the most famous ones, the ones with the greatest passions or lusts in this world?  Because you know, if I didn't manage to achieve it, maybe I'll get something here.

M. Laitman: But what would they have?

Student: It says here that until the age of 13, a person searches for all of the corporeal lusts. So, they came after they found that there was nothing there.

M. Laitman: I guess they're not making it.

Student: How much money can a person want? How much honor and publicity?

M. Laitman: Oh, you can feel a person. Our desire for that is practically limitless.

Student: What do you mean, ours?

M. Laitman: A person's will to receive wants everything. Control, money, honor, everything.

Student: But he says that from 13 years on, he already wants a spiritual desire. It's not like now I only want a spiritual desire. Actually, in the end, the other desires also start to grow.

M. Laitman: Yes, they grow like that intermittently. How do we clean it so it's only spiritual?

M. Laitman: But there isn't something all spiritual here for the time being. The fact that he has an excessive will to receive for all of men's pleasures, it's not a spiritual will to receive.

Student: It says that the main aim, the main role of that time, after 13 years, is to obtain and increase the spiritual will to receive. That's the task of someone in whom the point in the heart awakens. So I'm saying, how do we obtain and increase the spiritual will to receive?

M. Laitman: We don't feel it.

Student: What is the spiritual will to receive?

M. Laitman: I don't know. Let me first know what is spiritual.

Student: So what is he writing about here? What state is he writing about?

M. Laitman: He's writing about a state that we probably need to reach. But when? After we realize the entire will to receive, the corporeal will to receive that's in us.

Student: How? How can we implement it?

M. Laitman: He says that the second division from 13 years onwards is when the forces are given to the point in the heart, which gives him the posterior soul of Kadusha holiness and guides him, and then a person goes and wants to fill this desire to receive.

Student: So whoever came to study the wisdom of Kabbalah, they still didn't wake up in them?

M. Laitman: No, just like that. A person just knocks on the door and enters.

Student: But something draws him.

M. Laitman: That doesn't say anything.

Student: What desire leads us here to sit here?

M. Laitman: Correct. There's something that you think that you'll somehow find something here in life. But that's still not the second division.

Student: So, that's only when a person already knows what a spiritual will to receive is?

M. Laitman: Yes. Where all I want is spirituality and what's spirituality? The bestowal, connection with others, help, mutual help, in order to attain the Creator. But until age 13, it's only the corporeal will to receive. And even in the spiritual will to receive, as he writes here, this is not the completion of the desire to receive, where most of its maturity is to receive it only in spirituality. That specific reality.

Question: (01:17:38) Are there two types of will to receive? One corporeal and one spiritual?

M. Laitman: No, it's the desire to receive that a person discovers both to here and to there.

Student: But in development, first there's a draw towards corporeality and then spirituality?

M. Laitman: Usually.

Question: (01:18:12) What does it mean to implement a corporeal will to receive? I won't be rich already or famous.

M. Laitman: Who knows?

Student: So, what it really means is to practically realize it?

M. Laitman: According to your desire.

Student: And if I don't have that desire, so it means I didn't implement the corporeal will to receive?

M. Laitman: A person advances according to his desire. So, for whatever you have a desire, that's what you're going to try to get to. That's it. You discover that you want money. The other one is honor. The third one is control. Etc. So, according to that, you advance.

Student: So each one has his own level?

M. Laitman: Also his level, but also his characteristics, his qualities. Money, knowledge, honor all those things.

Question: (01:19:23) So, it feels like we're in some kind of waiting room and we already know in advance who's going to be next in line into the spiritual world.

M. Laitman: I don't know who that's clear to.

Student: To the Creator it's clear.

M. Laitman: Well, okay, yes, there's, yes.

Student: What are we doing for now? Just playing or do we have anything to do? How to speed up the records that awaken in each one? What are we doing here? How do we actually work?

M. Laitman: You stand in line in order to enter the groups and together with the groups you continue to stand in line in order to enter the absorption room for the Creator.

Student: And except for waiting in line can we do something active that will change how we're advancing how He brings us in?

M. Laitman: Of course, each to the extent in which he invests.

Student: And what do you mean to invest? Because Baal HaSulam writes that our investment now is to increase our will to receive, and we have no control over it. It's the only thing we can advance in. We can awaken the point in the heart, that second state before the first state.

M. Laitman: We don't exactly know by which of our actions we can advance more, and in what direction, but we need to try in all the directions and in all the ways.

Student: Could we skip over the first state, the first division, and go into the second division?

M. Laitman:  I don't know what it means to skip, but it could be that, yes.

Student: What can we do to help us advance?

M. Laitman: Connection between us.

Student: Why? What does it do?

M. Laitman:  It's with certainty that it makes from each of us a bigger desire to receive, and accordingly, by the way, not only bigger but also in a more spiritual characteristic, because he wants to connect with the friends above his desire to receive. So if he tries to perform such an action, for him this is truly an action that takes him out of this place, from this world to the spiritual world.

Student: As much as the work in connection increases the corporeal will to receive, could we say that also thanks to that the spiritual will to receive will grow in a person, even though he doesn't pay attention to it?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: (01:22:22) He writes at the end that the main will to receive doesn't end, but only reaches spirituality. So, I understand that but the fact that we have that spiritual will to receive, that's not the end of the path, right? It's just a different degree. I'm just asking if I understood this correctly. It's not that we're saying that.

M. Laitman: To the next stage.

Student: (01:23:12) So, what is Baal HaSulam telling us? That we want to reveal the evil, and we want to get rid of the evil, and we're searching for the light, and suddenly when we go into the spiritual world, it gets worse.

M. Laitman: That's how you understood it. What do you want from me?

Student: Because I understand that you increase the will to receive, we try to run from it, we search for the light.

M. Laitman: We are not running away from the desire to receive. You can't run away from it. We just understand that we can use it more correctly.

Student: But during the preparation period, we want to reveal the evil in us, and from revealing the evil, we want to run from it, to reach a bestowal, and when we reach bestowal, we discover that the desire is even bigger and bigger.

M. Laitman: Okay. So, that's how it is.

Student: My question is, how is the Creator turning on the light, and showing us that we have even more maggots in us, so a person doesn't get scared?

M. Laitman: I don't know what to tell you. The fact that a person gets scared or not, that I don't know. He gets scared.

Student: How can he hold on?

M. Laitman: Then he runs away. He gets scared.

Student: That's why I'm asking when a person won't run, how? Because he comes here to be corrected. But when he's shown worse things, what gives him the forces to withstand this?

M. Laitman: Probably the Creator, nevertheless. Sustains him. All right.

Student: (01:25:27) I want to continue the friend, why I can't see everyone rich. He says that you go into the room where everybody's rich and smart and happy, and if I walk into a room where everybody's smart or rich, that means I came to the right group?

M. Laitman: Probably, yes. I don't know. Is there a connection between them? Are they coming closer to one goal, and so on?

Student: Yes, everybody's working towards the same goal. I'm a hopeless friend, is that a state that I'm in and I live in? Does that mean I entered the group?

M. Laitman: Yes. Okay. That's it. Let's leave it, and we'll move to the next part of the lesson.

Reader: (01:26:33)And we'll sing a song first.
