Part 3:

Baal HaSulam. The Peace (Proof of His Work by Experience)

Reading (00:25) “But he who wishes to criticize my words…”

1. S. (10:10) Baal HaSulam writes that to bestow upon others is supposed to be in order to bestow upon the Creator and not in order to bestow upon humanity. How are they supposed to imagine this form? Church would be developed. What kind of Creator can be imagined? What would they call it?

R. The Upper Force.

2. S. (10:48) How is it possible to direct ourselves, the whole country so people will not work to benefit themselves or even to bestow upon humanity but to bestow upon the Creator, how can we depict it because we're not talking about a religious depiction, so it's not going to help?

R. No, no, it's not religious. It means that people will be working for the sake of humanity.

S. Is it even realistic to ask for the country, for the nation to build this kind of motivation?

R. I don't know. As much as it can be done, how practical it is. As much as it could really be realized in the right relationships between people, but in general and that's what's written, this state is something we have to attain.

S. It says that, you said it yourself, that any kind of connection that if it doesn't lead to the Creator, sooner or later becomes fascism.

R. Yes.

S. Because people connect among themselves and then they start turning against someone, so how do we avoid it? How do we truly direct people specifically toward the Creator so this connection will be dedicated to the upper Force?

R. That's why we have to educate them.

S. It turns out that everyone has to study the wisdom of Kabbalah. What other method is there?

R. In principle, yes. Meaning to explain to people what the structure of the world is. To explain the structure of human society and how they can attain a state where everyone will be connected as one.

3. S. (13:28) There are very sharp questions with respect to Baal HaSulam and I would like to add. He writes here that working for the sake of the Creator will be more beneficial for society as well, but even we, those who for the time being are learning to bestow upon the Creator, we dedicate to it about forty hours a week, that's our week's work. In other words it doesn't really save efforts for a person, if he were forced, so why would work in order to bestow be more effective as he writes rather than compulsory work?

R. If a person will start feeling that this work is going for bestowal for himself, he'll work in a more effective way than the way he's working right now. This is the thing, imagine for yourself that you make efforts in some factory and there are two goals before you: one is to make a living and the other is to get a profit for everyone, not only for your family but for everybody, and you feel that to work for everybody is actually working for yourself, for the future world as we say.

S. To constantly remind me that the thing I'm working for in this world is such an important goal because it is against man's nature, this, too, requires huge efforts.

R. Right.

S. It's incomparable.

R. That's why we say that right now we can't reach the practical realization of it.

Reading (16:40) “And imagine that the farmer and the worker…”

4. R. (20:48) He still didn't close the matter up. It keeps going but what does he want to say here? That we have no choice. Here we will need to either get there through blows or through a hug, two actions of mutual bestowal and to take care of everyone, that each and every person will work in bestowal, otherwise we have no future whatsoever. Only it isn't clear if it's done through pressure and fear or from their desire. For now we don't see that it's possible through their own desire, through fear and blows, maybe.

5. S. (22:10) What does it mean to do it under fear, what's the point, this is unclear?

R. No, from fear means that they receive blows, through the blows that they run from the blows, which happens naturally according to the nature in us, and afterwards we ask why did those blows come, how should we be safe from them and then we reach the other side, that the blows come to us in order to turn us around in the right way to the purpose of life.

S. It's a path of suffering because we're afraid of blows and that’s why we're willing to serve Him?

R. I think that the path of suffering to start the correction of man is necessary because he understands nothing but that.

S. Where's the path of Torah here? Where's the more positive way?

R. It starts later on. It starts later on. How can you start on the path of the Torah with a baby?

S. It's not like I have a choice between the path of Torah and the path of suffering. I have the path of suffering, it's really to switch to the path of Torah?

R. No, we didn't talk about that yet, how you go from the path of suffering to the path of Torah, no. We still have to learn that.

6. S. (23:54) It turns out that it's a normal situation that the leader of a country comes and says now you're going to work in order to bestow, those that disagree we will force them. This can really be something from the Government, from above, something that is like us, like the organization of Bnei Baruch and then each one is under this organization and thinks that it is acceptable. How should it work?

R. Today we still cannot talk about it. We still have to finish all the questions that come around that.

7. S. (24:53) When we work for everyone's sake it means that everyone will work for me, so it's worthwhile, so why do we resist it?

R. Because the ego is personal. It's felt by man in a personal way. He doesn't want to think of the others. He doesn't understand that the most important thing is that we don't have a place to get the energy from because to do something without knowing that it comes into our pocket.

S. In other words does intellect work against itself? If I correctly understand the Creator deliberately doesn't let us accept it because it's still the ego?

R. Right.

8. S. (25:57) He calls it proof of his work from experience, but he doesn't give it proof, he proves that a society like Russia that..?

R. We still didn't get there. What are you running?

S. That's what he writes. “I have proven the law according to the critique of empirical reason,” he says he bestows, but where's the proof, the proof should be as if there is a country like Israel that does work for the Creator and succeeds. Why doesn’t this exist?

R. Because we see for now that it can't take place. For now it cannot take place. We are sitting so deep in our will to receive that even though we're in this, bothered by this for years and understand it, so how could it be that we could uplift above the will to receive, we don't feel, we can't imagine to ourselves the path out of this.

S. The Creator is Almighty, so why does he give a negative historic example and doesn't create a positive historic example?

R. We don't have a positive historical example.

S. Why? Why does the Creator give us the opposite example and not the right example?

R. We don't have such an example.

S. But he writes, just imagine if the worker were to feel and...?

R. I can't imagine that to myself, it's all fantasy.

S. How will the fantasy become true, become reality?

R. That's something else, we don't know that yet, we don’t know the solution for that yet. Okay.
