Lesson No. 3. Annulment and Total Devotion in the Ten

1. Rav’s Introduction: The greatness of the Creator in the ten. This is that we have a really direct question here, if we want to reveal the Creator we need to increase his greatness in our eyes from a distance where we are now and can't see or recognize him and in order to recognize to know and feel him even to the extent of connecting with him, we need to bring him closer to us or bring us closer to him. How do we do that? Only by the ten which is our vessel, a Kli, as much as we try to put our ten together, that is called rising the Shechina from the dust, that now we are in a stage where we are not connected as we should be, this is called that we are in the shattering. The place that is destined for revealing the Creator is called the Shechina, the Creator is called Shochen, the dweller, how can we raise Shechina from the dust, the shattering? By trying to put together the connection between us in the ten above our egos, above the forces of separation between us, above everything that distances us in every moment in all directions. That which just doesn't let us connect and those contradicting forces to the connection we need to recognize the work of the Creator. It is written about the Creator I have created the evil inclination, this is what He does to us. We need to work against Him, how? By asking from Him, forcing and obligating Him that He will perform the connection between us and wherever he set the shattering and put us in a state of distance and rejection and hatred, that’s where we have to bring us closer. 

We have very special work with the Creator. It is similar to what we do with the children, I've already given this example a lot of time. I said if we want to teach them how to walk we put them before us, I put my baby before me and I hold him in my hands and he hardly stands up and I move away from him, then he gets scared he doesn't know what to do with himself. He stands and cries being afraid to take a step ahead. I wait for him to take a step ahead and usually he will fall down as it is more convenient and certain for him then he crawls towards me and maybe not but at least he doesn't want to walk. Here we understand that the Creator does the exact same action with us, we need from the lower degree to learn about the higher one. From our life we can learn a lot of examples and rules that are in the upper world. The Creator performs such things with us to teach us how to walk. In this way we need to behave just as we teach a baby, that is how the Creator is teaching us and here we need to perform actions. What kind of actions can I do towards the Creator? 

Simple actions, I can't do any action towards the Creator, I can't take any step towards Him. I don't have the will to bestow that I could do anything towards Him. It turns out that I have to ask from Him, that He will help me know how to turn to Him, how to connect to Him. How I can ask and convince Him to help me come close to Him. That is actually all of our work, meaning in every step and in every state we need to understand that there is the matter of None Else Besides Him here and I only need to be aimed towards Him. That is all of our spiritual work to come closer to the Creator increasingly more until we reach Dvekut, adhesion, and then I have no other council but to search through what advice, through what means I can connect to the Creator to convince Him to help me come closer to Him. He will always put me in a state, stand me up like I do it to the baby, to put him on his two legs which are shaky and this is how the Creator puts me. Stands me up in every situation and I have to understand that every situation is a state that conceals the Creator from me and I need through that concealment to try and turn to Him and ask Him to bring me closer. 

I don't know what direction I should walk in, I don't know what qualities to use to come close to Him and even if I knew where I would take these qualities. Meaning I only have one thing to do that is to turn to Him in every place in every state and in any case and this is why the Creator has to be great in my eyes that He establishes this picture, this world. He organizes my life. He is there behind the scenes organizing everything, every state that I ever went through from the time that I remember myself until this day. The good, the bad, anything was necessary for me to come close to Him right now. My problem is in each and every state not to disconnect from Him just because He is my source of all of this reality and always to ask and demand of Him for help. That I can't take any step ahead because I don't know which direction to take a step. He is hiding, so I need to ask from Him and when I ask from Him He answers and that is for certain. So let us try to advance in such a way. 

This advancement depends only on my connection with the friends as much as we turn to the Creator as much as we do it together, the cry to the Creator depends upon the closeness between the friends completely having nothing to do with our knowledge as it is not the wise who studies. That is why the main thing for us is to be aimed towards one goal, towards the upper force. That is why we need to keep going only in one direction and to give examples to one another as a man shall help his friend and as much as the distance between me and the Creator, I start discovering that He is in the distance between me and the friends and it turns out that specifically when I work on this distance, asking from the Creator to take care of it, to bring us closer, to that extent we together as a result of the Creator of bringing us closer together so we can activate the prayer to Him together bringing us closer together with Him. Then it turns out that it wasn't me alone here, coming close to the goal but to the extent that we come close between us we can come close to the Creator. That is actually the secret of revealing the Creator and coming close to Him on man's behalf in this world. As much as we come close between us that will determine as much as we come close to the Creator. 

We have two prayers for the connection between us and from the  connection between us to the Creator as it says He makes peace above and will make peace upon us. How? First connect between us, this makes peace between us and then we can turn to Him asking for all of us together to also to come close to Him, this is how it works. The Creator constantly shows us the distance between us, how it gets greater and greater, that we need to understand it's not great distances just increasing the resolution. He wants to show us as much as we are far from one another and as much as we come closer we recognize more of a persistence, what other distances there are between us and in this way we asked Him increasingly more for forces of connection between us. According to the force of connection between us we can ask Him to also connect between us to Him. In this way we reach through all of our systems that way can't come close to the Creator only to the extent that we close the distances, the gaps between us..

2. R. The closeness to the Creator depends on the closeness between us as it is written from the love of the created beings to the love of the Creator and this is why the Creator in order to give us the ability to come close to Him, He broke the relationships between us that we were all in one vessel and one desire and then we were divided and distanced in to many egoistic, small desires that contradict each other. On the other hand it gave us the ability to acquire the qualities of the Creator, the quality of bestowal upon the quality of reception which is our natural quality. When we put that spiritual quality of bestowal upon the corporeal quality of reception we are in a state where we include the two worlds and in this way we advance. 

The Creator itself pushes us to the connection and on the other hand he moves us away from each other. It is all kinds of cases where we are distant, we see we can't stand each other and in this way we are in helplessness, how can we do anything? And that's how we advance. This is why we have to understand that the advancing to the revelation of the Creator depends upon the extent that we annul the ego between us. Meaning the Creator put it within us and we can't cancel it but upon our ego we can instill the quality of bestowal and then in the connection between them both, the quality of reception, hate, distance and the quality of bestowal upon them both we will be able to know one another.

3. S. How can we answer this awakening in the ten so that we draw the upper light into our vessel?

R. That all depends upon you as much as you ask, demand from the Creator to bring you closer to one another, as much as you demand it, no more than that.

4. S. (21:04) We have gathered here in the ten what does it mean that we are annulled towards the ten and in that, we annul ourselves towards the Creator?

R. To annul myself towards the ten means that I try with them to find the connection to such an extent that all of our egoistic desires will be below and all of our tendency towards the Creator will be above and together we will yearn for Him, this is how we build it.

S. What does it mean everyone's forces are included in one another?

R. That we all want to reach one goal above the forces of rejection.

S. And how do we build this common force for it truly to be common, not separate or individual but common?

R. By you, trying to really reach a state where one doesn't agree with the others and along with that he wants to be above with the forces of bestowal.

S. We can come to such a state where everyone feels this one force between us now?

R. If you come to a state where you agree with one another upon a complete lack of agreement with one another, the more you advance you will feel how much you are contradicting each other and if along with that you still want to be above it, by this you will advance to the right vessel, to Godliness. Spirituality includes these two forces together to such an extent that they connect in a way that you can't even tell them apart. We will talk about it. It turns out that forces of connection and the forces of rejection need to be equal weight for us. That it doesn't matter as much as I hate or as much as I love, all of these forces for me are only forces that I get from the Creator that by them I can put together a right attitude towards them. The same thing with the friends, God forbid I don't hate or have nothing against anyone, on the contrary I take each one of them above the way I see them in my ego whether positive or negative. I accept the friend as a part of my soul that I must even though I have forces of rejection I must accept them as a piece of my soul.

5. S. (24:52) What does it mean to unanimously agree in the group towards each other?

R. To agree unanimously means that we each scrutinize according to his observation we see how different we are and how we reject each other and we can't agree to anything. That is on the one hand. On the other hand we take these rejections in a way that we understand that without them we can't find our closeness to the Creator. This is why it's called to kiss the stick, the stick that hits us. That we understand how these forces of rejection are the forces that build us and as much as they establish us correctly in contradiction to the Creator, this is how it has to be.

6. S. (26:28) We heard that the most important thing is our closeness. What is this and in what is it expressed?

R. The closeness between us closes us in one desire, one understanding even though we are contradicting, each one has to uplift above himself in order to connect with the friends. Because to be in our life that we, whether we move away or come close in egoistic desire here we connect or move away in two degrees. That is much as we are far away from each other and contradict and hate each other we above this builds forces of connection between us. We exist on two degrees, the negative force below and the positive force above. In this way we advance. Give me an example if you want from your state and you yourself understand how you can put together one above the other without annulling the negative force, you put the positive force above it.

7. S. (28:30) How can I give the Creator contentment if my character is standing between Him, myself, and the ten?

R. Specifically because of this or thanks to that we exist, the problem is that if the Creator is one force, the one unique and unified and there is nothing but Him, how can it be that we exist and right now we don't exist but only in such a way that the Creator's sustains us in a special way with His own forces. How can it be that we can exist on our forces that by this we will really be the created beings. Today, now, we don't exist, we aren't seen as any form so how can it be? Only if we raise, if we put the will to receive as it grows and the will to bestow grows upon it, then they both create the created being together, that the will to receive is the Aviut, the coarseness, and the will to bestow is the restriction, screen, and reflected light that by this way formulate ourselves as similar to the Creator, man is called similar, the one who resembles the upper one and this is our work. 

If we won't resurrect this force of bestowal above the force of reception, the created being won't have a reality, only in the force of reception which was created by the Creator and the force of bestowal also comes from the Creator and we don't have either of them. Only on the condition that we put one upon the other then we reach the state that we are the created beings and we exist. Right now we can't understand it completely, because we exist in our world, which is the imaginary world. This is the way the Creator gives us an ability to feel that we exist but actually except for this fake reality that we are in right now that we feel there is no other reality that we can really exist in a true form. In the true world, the spiritual world which is the only thing that exists and not our world, the fake world, we can't exist there because we don't have such a quality of bestowal as the Creator, the quality of reception was created by the Creator as something opposite Himself that we could instill the quality of bestowal above it to exist in the spiritual realm you need to think about it really good but that's the way it is.

8. S. (32:27) The exercise of two opposite forces we do in the ten can we adjust this to normal life?

R. In the corporeal life I think we do this instinctively, as much as you don't agree with your husband, but still you shut your eyes on a lot of things. Because otherwise you can't live, I understand you. In spirituality it is something much more than that, in spirituality it gives us just not a way to continue with our life but to uplift to a higher degree because we rise above our own ego. Otherwise we just remain in our ego but we decide as if it doesn't exist but in spirituality no. We use our ego in order to rise above it, it is a technique that we will constantly need to work in but by this we get an entrance into the upper world and start building ourselves in it.

9. S. (34:34) Many friends are connecting over difficulties so we have a sense of unity, feeling joy so how do we make certain that we don't get satisfied that we keep the deficiency and keep the need to turn to the Creator all the time?

R. That is the main goal that we want to discover. It is always in our eyes like a light tower that shines like the Northern Star, that we want to aim ourselves to it, that it is correcting our soul, filling us in the light up Ein Sof that is about to fill it. How to not relax on the path and how to not stop that is by man will help his friend that to begin with we are all purposely in such a way that each one has different qualities, different intentions, different desires and as much as we want to come close to the Creator we always have big differences between us, how to do this. This is why if we adhere to one another, and not annul one another, but in this way we come close through the opposite so above these differences to the Creator that we constantly ask the Creator to tie us together even though we can't be tied together because we remain each one in his own qualities but that the Creator connects between us. It is like he sews, sews all of the gaps in between us and in such a way we come close to Him which is why in this way we are always in a spiritual ascent.

10. S. As far as I understand we get the power to annul ourselves in the ten from the ten, so with what actions would I show this power to my ten?

R. We get the force to annul our ego, to overcome our ego we can't annul it we can only overcome above it so the force is to overcome the ego, to rise above it we get that through the ten from the Creator. From the Creator comes that force, that spiritual force and as much as I am included in the ten I get that force and lift above my ego, that is how it works. I am included in the ten, the Creator feels the state of the ten, the ten asks the Creator for the force of bestowal the force of spiritual uplifting, He gives it to the ten, the ten takes the spiritual force from the Creator and me as much and to the extent that I am included in the ten I also get that force and that causes my personal uplifting. This is how it works, meaning there are two degrees, me, then above me the group and the Creator.

S. Can we define the ten as a receiver of signals coming from the Creator and are those signals received according to the qualities of the friends?

R. Exactly, correct.

11. S. (00:42:10) How important is it to see in the friends the same desire as mine?

R. It can't be that anyone has the same desire as the other even if we think it is the same it's not exactly the same otherwise it would be one person and not two or three. This is why we don't need to calculate on having the exact same desire, we can’t even compare ourselves that we have the same goal, how can we check whether it's the same desire and the same goal? We can't, so we agree, kind of, according to who we are and where we want to reach and we want to reach the Creator. On the way to the Creator every time I have a problem. I have to connect with all of these friends so here in my connection with the friends I start checking as much as we're different, as much as we are similar and that builds our Partzuf more and more, that we build called a soul and in that Partzuf we discover the web of connections between us, the closest to the Creator, what the Creator bestows can only be to the connection between us and how each and every one as much as they are connected and in this connection as they are included within it, as much as he receives from it. Meaning the person's reception is expressed meaning he feels he's raising himself with the ten together as one.

12. S. (00:44:34) How can self annulment be confused with indifference?

R. When I annul myself it doesn't make me indifferent, on the contrary, I am entirely trembling, burning, I am drawn to the goal, I demand to be in connection with the friends, just I understand that for me to reach the goal I must be with my friends as one man and one heart and that happens only if each one makes a zero from himself towards the friends. Just as Rabash writes in the articles of the society.

13. R. We read about this many times but here is a question, how is it possible that one who annuls himself more in society continues, extends the upper light from the Creator in more of a force towards society? He becomes the first in the contact between society and the Creator, who is he? The one who annuls himself towards the friends, we have the example from the Torah itself, Moshe as it says he was humbled from all the people and for that reason he was rewarded with being the leader of that entire group that group called Israel, Yashar Kel, straight to the Creator, that came out of Egypt from the control of the ego to freedom from the ego and into revelation of the Creator. Because he was the most humble person this is what is written about him.

14. R. WSQ: How, because each one of us wants to reach to be the closest to the Creator, how do we do this in practice? Each one in his own society and his own ten, please speak between you, how can each one implement himself in a way that he will be greater than everyone in his ten?

15. R. WSQ (00:54:16): How do I remain in my own reason but still annul myself towards the ten? I don't agree with the ten let's say in something and I still lower my head and annul my reason but I remain that I disagree, I remain in that; and above my reason, meaning above what I think I agree with the ten and go with their reason, with their opinions. How can we be in such a state?

16. R. The fact that we have to get used to relating in such a way to corporeality and spirituality meaning corporeality that I feel in my desire in my regular vessels and spirituality is called that I go above my desire, what does it mean above my desire and how do I know what above is? By me hearing from society, being included in society and what their opinion is, what their goal is what their purpose is, so I accept what is in them and I work according to that, according to what they decide even though in myself can be the smartest and wisest one like Rabbi Yossi Ben Kisma and his students, but I still annul myself and go upon the reason of the many, the ten, instead of my own and in this way I keep going and this is called faith above reason.

17. S. (00:59:09) Our group of ten has recently sought to find ways to integrate. Is there anything we can do more to push harder while our friends leave or abandon the group of ten in the meantime, what can we do personally?

R. We can keep advancing according to all of the rules that the Kabbalists wrote for us and there are people that came to the group and tried to connect to the method and discovered that it doesn't suit them for now and altogether to the measure to which they can understand, rationalize, contemplate and so on, whatever they decided they decided. Everyone has free choice and they act accordingly, so respect that. As always as common in the wisdom of Kabbalah you can turn to a person twice and invite them to join the ten that they left and if after two times they don't come back we don't go back to that person, we erase them and don't feel that he exists within us anymore in any kind of connection.

18. S. (01:01:20) What is the opinion of the ten composed of as we're all different?

R. It is what we eventually feel the opinion of the majority in the group is the law to follow the majority and then everyone, all of the rest I don't know how many, they have to accept the opinion of the majority, not to agree but to accept it in practice.

19. S. (01:02:13) How to work on rejection, when I can’t come out of the ego, it is not letting me connect and I am falling into a descent. 

R. As much as possible to work only on the connection and turn to the Creator all the time for Him to help us in everything that we ourselves can't do anything but that we are only in expectation of His help.

20. S. (01:03:10) What vessel do we need to have in our relations of bestowal to reach unification as a ten?

R. We agree that the main thing for us is through our connection above all disturbances to advance to the Creator because it is the Creator that we need, it is the Creator that we can attain on the condition that we have many desires, individual, personal, private desires and also that there is discontent between them, disagreement, and above that, nonetheless, above reason we are connected and each wants to accept the opinions of the other. In this kind of sandwich that we make specifically between these two we can begin to discover the Creator.

21. S. (01:05:03) By accepting the general opinion of the ten, but not really agreeing with it how then does my opinion not get canceled?

R. It's not my opinion that is annulled before the group or anything else as they both exist one upon the other. This is called faith above reason, this is how I accept it and this is how I work as there is no state that is more correct than this one where there is my opinion and the opinion of society, the opinion of the Creator and I don't accept it according to my own opinion but above my opinion and above my reason I agree with them.

S. This doesn't erase my opinion at all because I might begin to see the merit in their words, and what they are saying?

R. No, it doesn't erase anything because I completely don't want to insert my opinion instead of the opinion of the group or the opinion of the group instead of my opinion I leave both of them to exist and both have an equal right to exist and that is called faith above reason, meaning to the measure we advance, the broader the gap that we will have between my opinion and the opinion of society or my opinion and the opinion of the Creator. What is the difference between them? That their height is considered to be the height of my spiritual ascent, the height of Malchut and Bina.

22. S. (01:07:30) The form of annulment in the form of something disturbing ...to just pray for the collective in the ten?

R. I don't disregard that which stands in my way, all contradictions remain the hate, the rejection and everything that was, remains and every time grows more, along with that we work above our rejection. We understand that all of these things are the revelation of the shattering so it is natural that this is what we discover. On the other hand we want to discover the perfect state that all of us are connected as one man and one heart and that between us there are no differences and this is how we exist. If we build these two statures together then we have no other choice and we build a Partzuf of the soul where the Creator is revealed.

S. This is actually done by prayer to the Creator?

R. Yes.

23. S. (01:09:23) The topic of the lesson is annulment and devotion to the ten so I'm in the best ten in the world and it is 90% Russian and 10% German so sometimes I feel that the Russian friends are more connected than the German friends; how do I come to the state where I don't allow my ego to decide they are more connected than we are?

R. I don't know what to tell you, by nature Russians are closer to each other and the Europeans the more European they are meaning closer to the west, then the more disconnected they are and the English are even more disconnected. There are many reasons, but why does it matter, what matters is reality and reality is such that wherever Russians are in the world they are more connected between them, they are more dynamic and this is their life. They lived in a special society, special character and nature and we have to use them as much as possible. I understand you look at them and you the Germans are envious of them but it is completely unrelated, if they can exist without you, can they exist without you? Of course they can, but can you exist without them I don't know, but you have to search for more real Germans and maybe to put together such a society, try. You're lazy, you don't want to work on it and it is necessary to awaken the German pride and to draw people to it. Don't you deserve to reveal the upper force? I don't know what to say, but alongside with it I think that wherever there is or are Russians around the world, they are distinguished from all of the nations and places wherever they are in the world and I think that it is so on purpose because what happened is that Jews for many of years lived in the Russian area, in Poland, practically there they were all eradicated, in Russia they remained and brought the wisdom of Kabbalah to us and also Baal HaSulam came from Poland meaning they have a root for the wisdom of Kabbalah, some kind of root and therefore this is how they are revealed. I think, why not connect to them?

24. S. (01:13:35) We read in the Peace in the World article by Baal HaSulam that there are the destructors and correctors in the world, is there a place in the world or in Kabbalah for the destructors, could they devote their soul?

R. World destructors are those that don't want to agree to be connected, that feel that still their will to receive pushes them to hate and reject each other and over time as long as they are patient to deal with these inclinations that appear in them then they become world reformers. Meaning there is no such thing that by the character or nature of some nation or a person that they are associated with world destructors no it is a state that each goes through, I have been through many such states and I really saw that the world destructor in me was very strong. It is good that the Creator doesn't let that world destructor in that person to go out.

25. S. (01:15:38) Is it correct to say that by canceling myself I create a good environment where love can be born and my friend's heart?

R. True true.

26. S. (01:16:33) A question from the ten how to be included in the ten in such a way to fulfill each and everyone?

R. This is something we learn all the time only through effort making an effort between us Helping each other giving each other an example when a person ask the Creator this is our entire work of how can integrate with each other because by that we actually make and create that second floor over us upon which we already discovered the general force of bestowal that is the Creator.

S. To which level do we need to be included in the friends? Can it be corporeally included, a corporeal gift we can give each other?

R. You are asking as if you fell upon us for the very first time I don't even want to answer because I've answered this a thousand times in the past tens of years and it’s a shame that this is what I hear It says there a thousand questions like this and it is written everywhere so please go out or come in and see what is written about it.

27. S. (01:18:39) I wanted to ask when we hear that a friend is going against the advice that we get from a Kabbalist?

R. You're not getting any advice from me I'm only showing you what it says in the wisdom of Kabbalah If you want to go against that if someone wants to go against that you have to bring proof A wise well-founded person that wants to be based on the correct foundation then please tell us where do you take the proof from that you have a different opposite opinion then we can learn from you where does that come from, such an opinion and we’ll be able to explain it. But if a person just says it then who is he all together. Who is man to have an opinion all together from his gut from his ego that he’s so certain. So let him cool down for a few years and he will come back to you and say I was confused. We are facing the forces of nature, not religions, opinions, beliefs or anything, but the forces of creation and this is how they act and therefore there is nothing but clear proof and evidence on the way and if someone doesn't want to follow then please, you can go wherever but don't stay here.

31. R. (01:39:20) Meaning we have reached a state where we understand that above reason means that I keep my opinion, my own reason and along with it I accept the opinion, the reason of society of the group, of the ten as higher than my own, than myself, more correct and just and I accept it even though I disagree with it. Do I agree or disagree is not simply because I feel like it, so I say I agree, no. I have to see my qualities, my opinion where I am and along with this to see the opinion of the group to see and feel that what they say, that I by nature that it's not an idea that popped in my mind but by nature I can’t accept it. Society says that bestowal is higher than reception greater than reception. According to my own nature I'm not there yet what can I do. There's nothing you can do. You have to decide that for you you have to decide the truth for you bestowal is not greater than reception, so this is what I tell myself that I'm still in a quality where reception is what I'm in that this is what is important to me but if I want to integrate in the group where the main thing is bestowal, then I integrate in them, I accept what they do. I connect to them included in them like a child among the grown-ups, like an embryo in his mother and this is how I am ready to advance with my eyes shut. To go with my eyes shut until the very end as Rabash says in another place. That means that I am going with them in faith above reason meaning that I take their reason above my own reason and this is how it is called faith above reason.

32. S. (01:42:00) In the quote it says we have to pray for self annulment how can we specifically pray for self annulment in the ten?

R. Just like I said that you have to accept the reason of the ten and you see that it is against your own reason and then you are left with nothing but to pray to the Creator to help you. Attribute yourself to that group, integrate in them. You don't want to, they take upon themselves such guidance, such parameters that you disagree with. To you it seems wrong on the one hand on the other hand you see it is more spiritual so by submitting yourself to the group to the ten you will advance. But how can you attribute yourself to them? You can't cancel your opinion, your attitude, all of your discernment, your entire reason you can't. But you turn to the Creator and you ask Him for help to integrate in the group with your eyes shut, this is called in faith above reason and then the Creator does what He does.

S. That means that annulment is possible only in faith above reason?

R. That is how it is, yes  Because if it's within reason you're in, your within your own framework, in your own level and you don't ascend spiritually. You can ascend spiritually only on the condition that you get something above your own opinion according to the opinion of Bina. You rise every time from Malchut to Bina more and more.

33. S. (01:44:42) What part of my desire should I annul in order to adhere to the friends?

R. That part which disagrees with the opinion, the reason of society.

34. S. (01:45:09) What additional work do I need to do if I'm a zero as if I don't exist, the goal is also zero, what can I do?

R. You don't need anything else If you're a zero than as a zero you are included in the group and reach the end of correction. Only constantly keep yourself in a state of zero, but being zero in that you are constantly integrating in society doing everything they demand of you and as if you have no opinion or reason of your own.

35. S. (01:46:09) When I'm asking from the Creator forces to annul myself to Him and forces to be in complete devotion. Is there a place that I'm asking for myself or should my prayer only be for connection between the friends ?

R. If the prayer is not for connecting with the friends, with the ten, then your entire request is egoistic and you should examine yourself.

36. S. (01:46:59) How do we respond to the question of who am I and why do we exist specifically now?

R. In the wisdom of Kabbalah you should read the very first articles in the wisdom of kabbalah who is man and what does he exist for and so on and you will understand everything.

37. S. (01:47:35) What is more important to annul before the ten or to pray in order to get pleasure for the sake of the Creator?

R. If he doesn't annul before the ten then how does he get pleasure for the Creator in what Kli?

38. S. (01:48:21) Is it true that the ego is creating fear to have control preventing you from annulling yourself completely?

R. True, the ego does that as a helpmate against him doing us a great favor by it, that we know where it is and where to annul it.

39. S. If I see that my friend is not annulling, does that mean that I don't?

R. Yes.

40. S. (01:49:45) I heard you said when talking about annulment and you said the word death, to me this is really frightening; what I really need to reach a state of death to annul or do I understand something wrong?

R. Death to your ego, not to your body, your body all together is on a lower level, belongs to the animal world, but your ego is related to the human level and in the wisdom of Kabbalah we are talking about the human level, the level of Adam. Therefore you have to annul your ego and let your animal body - let it be.

S. Why did you use the word death?

R. Death means that egoistic will to receive I don't want to use it and because you don't use it, it is considered to be dead so it says. Calm down, there is nothing about this word. All together it is much more pleasant and simple than the life we live, we live beneath the degree of death.

41. S. (01:51:20) We are aiming that the opinion of the ten is unified and mine is separate; what if everybody has different opinions how do we together pray to the Creator?

R. I don't know what you're talking about, maybe talking about some dresses whether they're pretty or not and so 10 friends have 10 opinions. But if we are talking about principles that are either here or there, it can't be that everyone has an opinion that is beyond either to this or to that because all in all you are divided to above reason or within reason and this is how it always is and all there is to it. So you should examine what exactly you are arguing about and reach a state that it is not that confusing.

42. S. (01:52:41) The few friends that didn't come to this lesson: should they or we hear this lesson again together before we continue this congress?

R. Yes, explain this lesson to them and try to listen to it again, this is good. All of the lessons on this congress even though we went over them once, but today we are studying them differently and in relation to faith above reason, in relation to the force of annulments and in relation to the ten, it is different than how we started it before, it is not different, but it is a an additional degree, already a spiritual one.

43. S. (01:53:46) How is it easier to win the war of inclination and annulment, it seems like it is easier to advance…?

R. It says about it do not fight your evil inclination, your ego - it is stronger than you are and you will never defeat it, but when you asked the Creator to arrange that for you then the Creator will and for that He has created the evil inclination in order for you to see how incapable you are of doing anything with this evil inclination and come closer to the Creator. The evil inclination is an angel, it is help from the Creator and the Creator’s servant, that because the Creator created it it exists to direct you towards the Creator for you to ask of Him. How or what? For the Creator to arrange the evil inclination, He created it; He will correct it; only everything works according to your request.

(01:55:19) When we turn to the Creator and pray it is usually because of any pain or suffering we are going through, and this pain is usually because our desire in us is not fulfilled so our prayer to the Creator is like please change me or correct me so I don't suffer anymore. Is this an egoistic prayer; if yes, then how do we correct this?

R. What do you want as a result of the prayer? To acquire the desire to bestow to come closer to the Creator, that is called to be more in the will to bestow or that you want to simply feel good in the state that you are in. Don't answer me, answer yourself and this will be the answer. What is the essence of your prayer is it egoistic or spiritual?

45. S. (01:56:42) Does annulment mean to take the reason of the friends above my own personal reason?

R. That is called faith above reason, the reason of the friends is called faith and your reason is your own so your position their reason above your own is called that you are in faith above reason.
