The Greatness of the Creator - Selected Excerpts from the Sources
1.Rav’s Introduction: Yes, I do not have much to say besides the impression from what is happening to us, what is happening to me. Until I feel I reach cooperation with the friends, with the students. I myself cannot elevate the greatness of the Creator. How much experience I have, how much did I learn? As much as I was in attainment or other things it does not matter. Each and every day I need to renew my contact with the friends and only from them, through them specifically, not directly to receive the greatness of the Creator. I see that truly each and every day, each and every day that it becomes more and more strong and more established. What is special about this is that it is not the same greatness of the Creator I had once. I am impressed by him. I perform certain actions. I to him and that's it but it is a different kind of greatness of the Creator when it comes from the friends. It is something that fills you, develops you, expands you, such that you begin to see that as much as the vessel through which you receive the inspiration from the greatness of the Creator it is greater, more universal that indeed the greatness of the Creator you received in such a way is the true greatness more and more. It changes each time but it is more and more true.
Therefore, the greatness of the Creator that you get in the beginning when one is inspired on his own. It is only in order for one to start working on the connection with friends. Then through the connection then when the person reaches the true greatness of the Creator. So, the greatness is what is revealed through the ten inside the 10 and only in such a way. The vessel of the 10 that holds the connection with the Creator and it does not matter to what extent it may be small but nevertheless even a great person like Rabbi Yossi ben Kisma for example, whatever he attained by himself, not on his own but what he attained through his tiny students, it is different then he truly attained the Creator because the Creator Bo reh is, come and see, (two words) that we have to come to the vessel and then inside to see, to discover this concept of the Creator come and see, Boreh. 2. R. The importance depends only on the society. The person himself cannot cause the greatness of the Creator in his eyes because he has nothing to be impressed from but only when he is incorporated in society as much as he surrendered before them feeling himself small relative to them and then he gets from them the impression from the greatness of the Creator. R. It starts by giving a certain degree a certain measure of the greatness of the Creator which is not like people who are outside of the wisdom, instead those who feel an inclination to that it is already because they are giving a greatness, a certain importance and for that reason all the rest is that we are able to connect this importance between us as each helps his friend and brings this importance to each other to a state, where we bring it to a state, to a dimension, to such a number, a quantity that the importance of the Creator starts to be let's say like the importance of this world and even above it. And then we begin to feel the Creator inside the vessel we built when we are connected between us. If this is more important for us than the physical vessel then we, by this establish a spiritual vessel and we feel the Creator inside of it.
4. S. (09:24) For us all the tens that gathered and the importance of the friends is so high we can really feel this. What does it mean that this force of the greatness of the Creator we start discovering it between us?
R. First of all we need to be in the right vessel, and the right vessel is connection. According to the measure of connection we are able to discover the Creator. We do not measure the Creator himself and this is how he is called also Boreh, come and see. That is as much as we establish the vessel, we then establish the phenomena inside the vessel and those phenomena we call them the Creator and this as any other measurement in this world. We do not measure the essence of electricity or the force of gravity or anything else, it does not matter what it is, we only measure the actions that those forces, those phenomena awaken in the vessels, in the tools, the devices that we build. Therefore, as much as we connect between us accordingly, we will feel inside the connection between us a certain kind of impression and this impression will be like the internal connection between us. A sole devotion, bestowal, annulment towards each other. When all nullify and then in that ten which tries to connect in such a way the sum total of the connection that they achieve will be felt in them as the Creator. This is why it is said, you have made me. That through our efforts above our ego we established within us the image of the Creator; come and see. This is how it happens naturally in a scientific manner just like all the measurements in our lower world. This is how using such measurements we elevate ourselves to the upper world. However, in our world we are born already with the senses and with a certain understanding how to enlarge these senses and get a greater pleasure. In the upper world we have to listen to the advice of the Kabbalists and do it accordingly and then in such a way we advance.
S. (13:15) There is an impression of the greatness of the Creator with each and every friend in the 10 and also the impression of the general effort. What is the role for either of them to attain with this force?
R. The fact that each and everybody has the importance of the Creator. This is in order to begin the work. The fact that we reach connection, inside the connection we elevate this discernment at details which are not personal, individual discernments and details but instead they are collective group discernments by that we already attain the elements that we need. What they call the vessel and inside that we attain the elements of the upper force, the Creator.
5. S. (14:22) In order to get the importance from the friends, am I supposed to be in an effort to give them importance? And if so, why is it this way?
R. You want to be connected together in order to elevate yourselves to a new measurement. It can be a spiritual measurement but it can only be a collective measurement, a general one. It cannot be a personal individual measurement. The whole thing is in spirituality that it is all built on the connection above the shattering. Therefore, here to begin with we need to know that we have no choice but only through such actions of connection and unity that we reach revelation.

10. S. The greatness of the Creator, what is this, how am I supposed to talk with the friends about the greatness of the Creator and how do I pass it on to them, describe to them that they can really discover it.
R. (26:45) We always measure one thing opposite the other, everything in the world, everything in life we measure in contrast. This is why if I say that something is greater, then with respect to what with respect to whom is it greater? This is our measurement, that if we speak about the greatness of the Creator then relative to what relative to whom? I usually measure it according to my appreciation, meaning according to my own greatness as much as the Creator is greater than what I can do to him to myself or two others. This is how we can check it. One thing opposite to the other and this is how all our measurements are. We have to check this how do you check the measurement of the greatness of the Creator in respect to each pleasure, in respect to each suffering maybe. With respect to how long you dedicate for it, how many forces, how much do you toil effort to discover and attain more greatness of the Creator in your eyes, how many hours a day do you invest in it so that the Creator would be more and more great in your eyes or in your thought.
You can be in all kinds of different work in each state but along with that you constantly are concerned that the Creator will always be the greatest in your eyes. As great as possible, this is it. Then it will not be difficult for you to perform an act of bestowal. All in all, this is the entire rule; what is more important, who is more important is either the Creator or your selfish ego, one of the two. The creator is hidden in order to give you freedom of choice so you would develop your attitude to him more than whatever you have visibly openly in your attitude to your own ego. Your ego is also a king. You'll have to have another king ruling over you. As much as the spiritual King will be more stronger than the physical king and here because the spiritual King is not clear in our emotions and in our awareness so you'll have a group through which you can actualize this, implement it and this way nevertheless bring yourself to the correct scrutinies.
11. S. (30:22) It is written that quality is more important than quantity. How does that relate to our work in the 10?
R. The 10 is more important than the whole world, very simple. The 10 is more important than the whole world. That if I will not have a 10 then I have nowhere else to go to correct anything. I can correct my 10 and only after that can I reach the broader Kli.
S. And relating to the work between us in the 10 what is this rule that quality is more important than quantity in the 10?
R. Until I connect everybody in the 10 my work in the 10 doesn’t end. I do not have a complete vessel.
12. S. (31:36) We just read that the king's glory is in the multitude of people. In today's lesson many friends have made an effort to connect throughout the whole world. How can we use this special lesson to increase the greatness of the Creator?
R. I need to receive for the time being the impression of the whole world Kli in order for that to help me be more connected to my 10. To the extent that I reach my 10 with complete connection, complete meaning to some extent to establish a certain spiritual vessel, even the smallest one, and then along with that vessel I can reach a state where with that vessel I already reach out to the world Kli.
S. What should every friend that joins the lesson and makes the effort to be here, what does every friend contribute to the greatness of the Creator?
R. This is something we cannot evaluate. Each and every one is very important, like millions of people in this world. This is truly the difference between a person who is longing for connection, that he knows that connection is the spiritual vessel for the revelation of the Creator. And the revelation of the Creator is what we have to invite, to draw, that by this the whole world can rise to the spiritual degree. If the person is in this to some extent he already then belongs to the correction of the world, to spiritual correction, and it is not that he just annuls in some place where he still on the animate level.
13. S. (34:07) What gives me the feeling of the greatness of the Creator in the friends. I see the friends, I work with them. The Creator is the representation of the friends, the relation?
R. The Creator is the result of my annulment toward the friends. That we were given this whole society, all those tens and this world which we feel. All of that is so we will calibrate ourselves in order to discover and to feel and to adhere to the Creator. The whole of humanity, this whole world, this whole picture is called the imaginary world. That we, all in all want to calibrate ourselves to connect ourselves, and to reach a state where we will start to feel spiritual phenomena, that they will come through the corporal phenomena. And in this way gradually we will enter from the feeling of the corporeal world to the feeling of the spiritual world. It does not happen with one leap and it does not come through some eruption, it is truly that one world comes through the other world.
14. S. (36:01) What should we ask of the Creator? Is the exertion what helps us to appreciate the Creator? Should we find challenges in the 10? Please give us some guidance in this so important moment, what can we give the world Kli?
R. You asked a few questions. To give you guidance for how to connect correctly and to give you guidance for how to activate the spiritual vessel so it would be more impressive and so on. Well, this is all of our work and what we have to do? Well, we have to realize that besides the connection between us we do not influence the upper force. Only through connection can we influence Him. And by myself I can perform a thousand different actions, nothing happens. But only connection, and out of the connection, from the connections between us we influence the Creator. And we influence the Creator so much so that we establish the Creator, He does not exist if we are not connected. The Creator is that upper force that does not belong to us, but if we connect between us in mutual bestowal then according to our equivalence of form with Him in bestowal, we begin to receive Him, that he is between us, and in such a way we discover the Creator, the Creator becomes revealed to the created being. And this is what you should try now to discover between you, and let's hope that we will talk about it and maybe even meet again.
15. S. (38:49) What is in the forces of the ten that leads to the connection with the Creator?
R. In the 10 there is a different concept than in the one. In the 10 there is the force of? they establish above the natural mutual rejection they have to begin with. And if we rise above this rejection, the corporeal rejection according to character, according to all kinds of habits, then if we rise above this and we want to connect, then accordingly we annul, we cancel the corporeal world relative to the spiritual world. That is, we already have an appreciation of us being connected more than us being separate, and this is why we already establish and determine the order of where we are aimed. And in this way, we awaken all the forces of nature so that they will also be directed in such a way.
16. S. (40:31) You said that this whole world is an illusion in respect to what we discover behind the friends. How can I start seeing the reality behind the friends, the Creator?
R. Listen, it all depends on your effort, only on your effort. How you look at your child for example relative to other children. In your child you hardly see any flaws because he is yours, he is so cute, beautiful, smart, and with your children to begin with, even though you do not see them like other children. With other children even if you don’t know them you always feel criticism. We need to try to work on that, to invert it, there’s nothing we can do about it.
17. S. (42:04) We always talk about the need for the greatness of the Creator in the first writing we read that we lack the knowledge of the Creator or the reason. Why is that?
R. When we can measure and with which discernments how much the Creator is more important than all of my values.
18. S. (42:32) About nullifying my desire to the friends in the work can I say that if I do not find what to nullify that I am missing a great treasure and precious time?
R. You are missing out on everything, very simply you are missing out on everything because you will not have a vessel.
19. S. (43:11) What is the lack of importance of the greatness of the Creator and how can we address this?
R. Lack of importance in the greatness of the Creator is that you see this whole world before you with faces and everything in it, all of these forces, this is considered the lack of importance of the Creator. Because if you saw the Creator then you would see a single force that is organizing this whole picture for you. And he plays with this picture in such a way in order for you more and more to enter into it.
20. S. (44:12) How does the person add to the greatness of the Creator because I see that every day the Creator sets a new limit and it doesn't seem that I can pass through this?
R. This is only relative to your connection with your friends, as much as you will overcome the distance you feel each and every day anew, if you overcome it in your connection with the friends. So get closer to them and in that way you will be closer to the Creator.
21. S. (45:10) We read in excerpt 2 if the person believes that the Creator only wants man’s best it makes the person love the Creator. What does it mean to believe that the Creator wants only man’s best? Also, it sounds egoistic, only if He does me a favor then I will love Him in return.
R. What do you think? That love is built on being beaten up? Can you love someone who is beating you up?
S. No but it sounds that if its bestowal it should be independent of my interests, etc.
R. These are very great things, you do not understand this concept. We can love in the meantime, later we’ll see. We can only love someone who does good things to us.
S. So what does it mean to believe that He is doing good to us?
R. Reaching that through the force of faith, a force of bestowal, than I come to a state that I discover that the Creator is doing good to me. That is not imagination.
22. S. (46:34) The greatness of the Creator, each and every day the Kabbalists write that we discover a new Creator. This is out of the special and unique qualities of each friend in the 10. In our efforts to connect this gives us the greatness of the Creator on the scale of the 10, so my question is a different one because we are the Last Generation, we are supposed to discover His entire greatness, when all 600000 will souls connect on the occasion of Mount Sinai. Or is the measure that we achieve for the correction of the world right now?
R. The size we will attain, the magnitude we attain will be enough to correct the whole world.
23. S. (47:36) You said that the greatness of the Creator should be greater than the collective ego, so do we need the force of the ego of the group as a vessel in which to discover the greatness of the Creator between us?
R. Of course we do, yes. In general, with all the people in the world, it does not matter who and what they are, and moreover in all the animate, vegetative and still level, they all have to connect into one system, and then this system will be able to discover and reach complete adhesion in the Creator.
24. S. (48:44) You said the kinds of connections between the friends is already a vessel so what kinds of connection do we need between us?
R. The kinds of connection between us are simple. We want to connect because one without the other will not reach the purpose of creation, will remain on the animate level. Try to imagine yourself on the animate level or speaking level. Meaning you can be like a cat or a frog, it doesn't matter what, or you can be human. This is the difference between being connected to the friends, and you to that extent are like a human, you are on the Adam level and if you are not connected to your friends, you are a frog.
25. S. (49:46) How to awaken the desire to express myself before the friends?
R. Rabash writes that it’s by talking between the friends, that’s what I should do, and this is how I advance. Only through these actions between us, we can talk about it as much as possible more and more and try to influence the friends. Some talk a lot but act little and some act a lot from their heart but they talk little. We should try both in potential, in theory and in practice, to bestow upon each other. The main thing is that we should know that what we want to attain is in the connection and if there is no connection between us there is no vessel. It’s as if I come to receive some nice food but I do not have a plate so I cannot get it, I cannot receive it.
26. S. (51:25) What is the relation between the desire for self-annulment and the desire to unite with the Creator?
R. We need to depict to ourselves a state where they are the same. I become far from myself, I grow further away from myself. Either I annul myself or I come closer to my friends or I come closer to the Creator, which is the same, one corresponds to the other. To the extent that I increase the distance from myself, I rise above myself, the more I come closer to my friends I come closer to the Creator, and this is how I become more and more spiritual.
27. S. (52:55) The importance of the goal is clear to us and we are asking for that but what is not clear to us is how to ask together all as one. If each one has a different pace in her work, a different time?
R. That doesn’t matter. We can never reach synchronization or connection between our pace and the passions, the desires and thoughts so that they can work correctly. This is all done only by the Creator, by the upper light that bestows upon us, connecting us together to one mechanism, and then everything works. Like a heart that activates the body, the brain that activates the body, both are responsible for the function of the body. In the connection, complete connection, until this concordance occurs, this mutuality, it won’t happen. But only the Creator can do that. 28. S. (54:23) How to renew the greatness of the Creator everyday so it will not become routine work but that each day we will live His greatness?
R. I am certain that every day if you will want it will be a new work because the Creator is not lazy, and every day He awakens in us new conditions, even arguments and distance between us, new kinds of distance and arguments. Accordingly, each day we see new work, as it is written that every day, they should be new in your eyes.
29. S. (55:17) What is Unity? How does the 10 determine if it is in Unity or not?
R. Unity is a feeling that there is no difference between me and the friends. And at this point where we think about spirituality which is above time, motion, place, above life or death, this is how we establish a place for the Creator, establish spirituality.
30. S. (56:07) What does it mean to hear and receive the appreciation of the environment in the 10?
R. Receiving appreciation of the environment from the 10 is to the extent that I annul myself to the 10, and then I receive it from them. The appreciation of the environment, the appreciation of the 10, the appreciation of the connection and the Creator are things that are in the 10 but maybe no one can feel them. Rather each and every one can feel it to the extent of his subjugation if he develops it to the 10.
31. S. (56:56) Why does pride prevent the person from seeing the greatness of the Creator? Is it because all the complaints towards the Creator seem just? How do we work with pride?
R. First of all it is written that the pride of a person will bring him down. The greater the pride in the person the lower it degrades him, it increases the distance from spirituality and increases the distance from the Creator. Pride is that greatest thing, and each and every moment when a person feels he is looking at others through pride he should annul himself and truly as much as possible he needs to see himself as the opposite, in a nasty, lowly way.
32. (58:45) How can we pass the importance of the goal to others?
R. This is only through being physically impressed and verbally impressed. As much as you participate with everybody and you show everybody that for you this is important because by this, we attain the goal of creation. And I have no choice, I am with these friends because the Creator put me among them to discover the goal, and this is why I invest in them, etc. This is how I show them how important they are for me because the Creator is important for me, because the goal of the Creator is important for me. It’s not because I love them. I love them in an ideological love because they hold the purpose for the goal of creation, and without them I cannot attain it. This is why I am willing to be with them with my loyalty, with my help, with whatever I can just to connect to them and to get the goal, and I can do it even without help, that’s the truth. Just like Rabbi Yossi Ben Kisma, he holds onto the goal even though his students are so small, and maybe they don’t feel anything, maybe they are in corporeal forms not spiritual ones, but to a certain extent they want to belong to it and that’s enough for all the rest of the connection between them. They themselves do not feel it but he does, and through them he receives the connection with the Creator, and without them he won’t receive any connection with the Creator, and they do not even know what he is doing with them, how devoted he is to them, how much through them he wants to speak to the Creator. This is how the connection is with the Creator, through devotion to the group no matter what form the group is in.
33. S. (01:01:29) In what is the collective great, in quantity or quality, importance?
R. There is a hero in quantity and there is a hero in quality and that is within each and every one of us and each and every connection between us. We don't have to determine what we are but simply to go to the connection in the way that the connection seems to us so for us the main thing for us is to yearn for that point of connection. In what is now revealed, in quality or quantity, for me it does not matter I can't determine anything here.
34. S. (01:02:56) Why is the force of the collective more effective if it's about quantity and not quality?
R. Because it is the multitude when they connect and become one it is no longer a multitude it says one, then they have different spiritual reality and different spiritual weight. Meaning there is a hero in quantity, let's say a million even though they are not so much connected to each other, but there is like a slogan above them but it is not in their heart and their heart is connected into one heart, no. That is a hero in quantity, a hero in quality is to the extent that even though there are a million, they are able to connect into one heart, truly. Then being a hero is in quality so it can be this way or that way, what is the hero in quantity to the extent of the disconnection between them and then the intensity of the disconnection is prominent, you can measure it and see its potential. What is the importance of the hero in quality, to the extent they overcame the gaps between them and they are connecting as one. Both are important even though we overcome the hero in quantity and we reach the quality, the quality is in the quantity and this is how we reach a state that we have the coarseness from the quantity and the purity from the quality and this is how we establish a vessel.
35. S. (01:05:34) Is the greatness of the Creator the goal or the means that the Creator gave us to reach bestowal?
R. The discernments we can discern in the Creator for the time being, past or future, they can't be the goal as the goal is adhesion when we feel ourselves that we are not separate from the Creator. That we are in him in a way that in the beginning it is like an embryo and then like small children, then like grownups we're all of us are together and he is in all of us together from within wrapping us from the outside. This is how we can describe such a connection, this is how we can describe this connection like a mother feeling the children even if they're grown-ups already, she nonetheless feels them through her womb as if they are not out of it. That is how the Creator feels us.
36. S. (0107:05:) The greatness of the Creator is the means to reach bestowing?
R. Yes, the greatness of the Creator is the means to reach bestowal, to reach resemblance with him.

R. Giving in the spiritual world is considered to be for a while in a special state that you are in, being greater of another when you can give him whatever he wants of what you have.
