Part 2:

Baal HaSulam. "Study of the ten Sefirot" (TES). Vol. 2. Part 6. #1

R. (00:37) We are starting part six, in the study of the ten Sefirot, it's a very important part, it is a fundamental piece that bridges the first parts and the parts that will come after. Let's study it we need to simply be impressed by it and take it in as much as possible.

Reading Item 1: (01:12) “AK contains AB SAG MA BON in Itself....”

2. R. (02:31) That's what the Ari writes, what Baal HaSulam writes below.

Reading Inner Light Item 1: (02:37) “AK contains. This Study That I Have Begun….”

3. R. (05:48) Is everything clear? There’s no innovation here.

Reader Continues: (05:58) “Lights Emerge From it, which are Emanated....”

4. R. (09:22) Is all that clear?

5. S. (09:27) Can you give some background or contacts to this path?

R. We have Galgalta, AB, SAG, MA, and BON, it is five Partzufim because there are five degrees of coarseness in the vessels of Malchut of Ein Sof. Then it develops by the Light working on those four degrees of coarseness that are in her. From each and every degree we get a Partzuf. We get a Galgalta AB SAG MA and BON. That is what he's talking about right now.

6. S. (10:18) The Guf of AB is clothed in the Rosh of SAG, what does it mean that the Guf of AB is clothed in the Rosh

R. We'll learn that. We'll learn it. The clothing of the Partzufim is something we will learn later on.

7. S. (10:56) I always had in mind what is written in 155, in the Introduction to the Study of the Ten Sefirot.

R. I don't know, I don't remember what's written there now.

8. S. (11:17) What does it mean that from the Partzuf come out lights?

R. The Partzuf is the vessel the will to receive with the screen and with the measure of light that is filled by that screen, that is why from it light emits. What does it mean that light emits or comes out of it, that there are more Partzufim except for that specific one that can connect to it and receive the light from it.

9. S. (11:58) It is written here that the light of Bina called Awzen dresses in the Kli of Keter, so it dresses in its’ upper Partzuf. What is this clothing?

R. We'll learn about it as much as the Partzufim clothes in one another and can receive from one another.

Reader Continues: (12:30) “Upper Arik Anpin and Abba of Atzilut. AA is AB of…”

10. R. (13:04) It will be clarified later on.

Reader Continues: (13:06) “It is Written That the Phase of AB…”

11. R. (14:02) Yes because here we learn how the Partzufim transfer the lights from above downward, how they raise MAN from below upward, how they connect between them and by that establish more Partzufim. That is how we learn the laws of the couplings, between them, that's ahead of us.

Reader Continues: (14:29) “A Model of the Phase of Atik of Atzilut….”

12. R. (14:05) Yes, so we just said that for now let's continue.

Reader Continues: (15:07) “Its SAG is from the Awzen down to its Tabur….”

13. R. (19:39) We already see that there are innovations here. That part of the Partzuf is filled by AB and part of it is filled by SAG and the combination between those two Partzufim we will already see that throughout the whole way.

Reader Continues: (20:01) “SAG is Divided Within Itself into Tastes.…”

14. S. (21:28) With what force does the Partzuf of SAG descend below the Tabur?

R. It doesn't have the light of Hochma in it. That's why it can expand in that area, Partzuf SAG is Bina, the light of Mercy and that's why it can expand.

S. In the place where there is no Hochma, Hassadim can expand?

R. No that's not what I said, why are you twisting this?

S. What does it mean place of Hochma?

R. That there is no Hochma. Wherever there is no Hochma, Hassadim can spread, so why not?

15. S. (22:30) I got a bit confused; can we open this a bit more?

R. That's not innovation.

S. The place where the Tzimtzum was not on the place of Ohr Hochma, also not in the place of Bina, and then Partzuf SAG descended below to the Tabur, that is what he just spoke about. What is this Keter that can pass, that we learn about this line, a barrier that he cannot go past?

R. What line, what barrier are you talking about?

S. It says here that the Partzuf of SAG cannot descend.

R. The light of Hochma can expand from Ein Sof till the Tabur, below the Tabur the light of Hassadim can expand.

S. He talks about the light of Bina?

R. The light of Bina is the light of Hassadim, mercy.

S. That's the first time I've heard that.

R. Can you believe this person here has been studying, for how many years?

S. 30 years.

R. How do you study?

S. How does that light, the light of Hassadim, how does it descend?

R. It doesn't just descend, go downwards. There is no such thing that the light goes down or shines or not, it all depends on the vessels.

S. That's what I wanted to ask you, what does it mean that these Kelim vessels go downward?

R. They are called the vessels of Bina, and they can receive the light of Hassadim that will shine in them.

S. What are these Kelim, it’s talking about my desires?

R. We're not talking about you, I’m sorry.

S. That is what is called connection and correction and everything and then you can draw the light of Hassadim downward, below?

R. Yes, there is this action that draws the light of Hassadim downward.

S. There is an action, that is what I asked, it does not come down for no reason, it is only in the ten, right?

R. Don’t confuse us, I don’t know, I’m studying TES right now.

S. But it's connected, right?

R. Shhhh, go rest.

16. S. (24:52) Baal HaSulam talks about this in previous parts and he also talks about it afterward if we don't understand this interpretation then we don't understand this whole part, etc. It's very methodical on the one hand, on the other hand, yesterday we learned part one, and now we are learning part six, so there is as if two attitudes here to the study.

R. What I told you about Rabash is that I remember what question it was, the answer for it was in part 12 of TES. We went to search for the interpretation of the words there, we went there, and we searched for it and we stayed there and studied there. Afterward, we asked Rabash he said what about it, we studied part four, or something like that. That's alright.

S. On the other hand, he also says that we should know what we did or didn’t understand what was previous, and we won't understand what's now, etc.

R. Right.

S. Let's say now some of us don't understand everything and now we're on par six and he is talking about very advanced things?

R. What advance? He's saying in the Partzuf you have Galgalta AK SAG MA BON, Keter Hochma Bina ZA, and Malchut. That's what he's saying, what do you need to understand in this?

S. I'm asking from the perspective of what should we do if there are missing parts in the understanding of the material in order to understand what is written here?

R. No there really isn’t. I'm telling you, when it will be, you'll get an explanation.

Reader Continues: (27:11) “The lights Clothed the Sefirot of the….”

17. R. (31:30) That means wherever there's still the light of Hochma the illumination of Hochma the lights can't build below the Tabur, but the rest of the lights obviously can appear below the Tabur.

18. S. (31:56) We learned that the Partzuf Keter of AK expands below to the Reglaim of Ein Sof and now we learn that it's the rule of the Tzimtzum.

R. We'll learn about it, let it go. The first Partzuf supposedly has no restrictions or no limitations, that's how it expands, we will see later on why.

S. What happens after the Tabur of the first Partzuf?

R. Let it go, it expands and that's it, it's an exception.

19. S. (32:35) He writes here that two lights descended and dressed in the Kli of Keter called ZON, what is Kli of Keter called ZON?

R. Where are you?

S. It says it has been explained above in Inner Light that two lights called ZON descended and clothed in the vessel of Keter?

R. That the male has phase three of the clothing, and it is until the Hochma and the female has coarseness of phase two and she is until the Bina.

S. What does it mean the vessel of Keter that is called ZON?

R. In the vessel of Keter called ZON, the two lights descended in clothed in the vessel of Keter called ZON.

S. What vessel is that, where is it?

R. Read above, “That from the lights clothed the three Partzufim, Galgalta AB SAG. First, they clothed in the vessel of Keter. Meaning that the coarseness of the screen was refined, so it expanded in the light of Hochma only in the Kli of Keter as Mercy called taste. But in the vessel of Hochma, the light did not come but only after the refinement of the screen, that the degree diminished and also in the rest of the Sefirot. According to that, all the Sefirot below Keter were called Nekudot, dots as they were already connected with reflective light. And in the inner light he explains that the two lights clothed the vessel of Keter called ZON, that the male has phase three of clothing and its degree is until the Hochma and the female has the coarseness of phase two and her degree is until Bina.”

S. I don't understand where it is, where is the vessel of Keter that is called ZON?

R. The vessel of Keter is all the first expansion.

S. What two lights is he talking about here?

R. The two lights are Hassadim and Hochma.

20. S. (35:58) What does it mean that the Partzuf Keter of AK is equivalent to the Partzuf Atik of Atzilut?

R. We have yet to learn that.

21. S. (36:12) At the beginning of the item he wrote that in this interpretation the Ari gave us a key to what scrutinizes all the Kelim of the Sefirot of Nekudim. What is that key and why is that important?

R. We have yet to learn any of this, why are you asking about it? Also, if you bring such questions, I will not let you talk.

Reader Continues: (36:39) “It Has Been Explained....”

22. S. (39:13) What is the contribution of the expansion of the light of Hassadim in the vessels of Behina Dalet? What do they gain from that in those Kelim and what did SAG gain from that expansion?

R. We haven’t learned that yet. Maybe you didn’t hear about that from our studies so why do you want to ask about it?

23. S. (40:08) It’s written in the text that only the Kli of Keter expands the light of Rachamim which is called secrets and in the Kli of Hochma becomes the refinement of the Masach and Katnut. What is the light of Rachamim and why does it come differently to Hochma than it does in the Kli of Keter?

R. In every discernment for every phase, the light expands according to that phase, they are coupling by striking, there is the will to receive, direct light, and reflected light and that is how the lights expand from the coupling by striking from the Rosh of the Partzuf in the Partzuf. That is why obviously there are differences between lights and vessels and all the Partzufim, also how in one Partzuf the light expands in the Rosh in the Toch and the Sof. The differences are because of the vessels themselves.

S. In Hochma it only spreads after the screen has been cleared. What’s so special? Why does the screen clearing need to be done here?

R. We are talking about the expansion of the lights in the desires. Those desires have to resemble the degree of the lights and be with it in equivalence of form through coupling by striking, coupling connection by striking. If that happens the light expands in the vessel in the desire, if it does not, the light cannot expand. There is the prohibition of the first restriction.

24. S. (42:24) It says that in HaVaYah the Malchut and Bina get rid of the vessels, so what does it mean if the ten can work in Bina of Rosh?

R. The ten, we did not speak about the ten, maybe the translator did that to him.

S. I understand that Malchut is a part of the ten, or is it not like that?

R. No, no, no. Who told you that? We can understand the whole study in an opposite way. You didn't hear such words from me, it is forbidden for you to write the book by yourself.

25. S. (43:40) It is written that AK is inclusive. What are we discovering, Malchut of Ein Sof that was in the thought of creation, is that the world of Nekudim?

R. We are learning about the lights that expand below the Tabur of AK. Above Tabur of AK the lights are called Akudim, below Tabur of AK the lights are called Nekudim. We start learning about the lights that descend below Tabur of AK.

26. S. (44:29) The cascading we read about the world of Nekudim is only as a passage from Adam Kadmon to Atzilut. What exactly is the purpose of the world of Nekudim?

R. We still need to learn about it. The role of the world of Nekudim is to bring the lights from Ein Sof where they go to the Rosh of Galgalta, Toch of Galgalta through the Tabur and below Toch of Galgalta in the world of Nekudim to transfer those lights below it. Because it is written that the worlds are Akudim, Nekudim, and Berudim, that is how we learn them. In the world of Atzilut, what expands is called the worlds of Nekudim and in the worlds of BYA expanded lights, which are called Berudim. And through all these lights that expand in the vessels, so we are below them all and we can receive those lights.

S. The process of the expansion of the Partzufim, it says that he is speaking about the expansion of the lights. It doesn't belong to the expansion of the Partzufim only to the lights?

R. It is the same just that sometimes we talk about it on behalf of the vessels and sometimes we talk about it on behalf of the lights.

27. S. (46:41) Sorry about the question in advance but all these years I've been sitting here, and nothing goes in. Not to the brain, not to the heart, I'm sitting like a little stupid kid.

R. Swing like a little Chinese doll that swings back and forth. Everything will be ok, I promise you.

Reading Item 2: (47:27-49:01) “As it is in its’ Internality, so it is in the Light....”
