Baal HaSulam. Matan Torah [The Giving of the Torah]. #12

Reading Item number 12 “ these are the words of our sages..”

1. S. (02:50) I always ask myself when we here this excerpt if the Creator cares about how we keep the Mitzvot?

R. I understand that in what we do to keep his desires are called the forces of the world or the laws of the world and then to the extent that we keep these laws then to that extent we attract upon ourselves all kinds of influences that need to be corrected and need to be lead towards equivalence of form with Him.  Does he care? Does he not care? We cannot speak of Him as some kind of personality, it is a network of conditions, of forces, call it desires, that works on us and brings us to identify and to equalize without single upper force.

S. What does it mean to slaughter?

R. Slaughter?

S. It says what the Creator cares about in the slaughters, what does it mean?

R. That it doesn't matter to the Creator or what actions you do, there are, what is called kosher slaughtering means slaughtering from the throat and they're a different slaughtering that you take. A bow and arrow or some gun or ax and that is not Kosher slaughtering.

S. Does he care about it or not?

R. If it's written then I guess He does. Not that He cares but He cares to what extent to you and your actions suit yourself towards him.

2. S. (05:23) This process of purifying cleansing the people, which people are we talking about all of humanity or only those who do the actions together we see that everyone who keeps the Mitzvot in this world to become an isolated group against everyone who are the multitude He's talking about?

R. For the time being that's how it is. After that I don't know. It's possible that we will reach a state where everyone and all of humanity will discover what actions they need to do in order to adhere to the Creator and to reach his degree of internality and perfection.

S. Can we say that if I feel that our actions separate us from humanity I am probably following a need to correct that I need our actions to

R. No, I cannot say it this way because then it means I decide. I need to receive guidance only from those that are in adhesion to the Creator whatever they say I can receive as guidance.

S. For the time being in the actions that we are doing. I feel that I'm more separate from people who are outside this room in this study?

R. That's your own calculation. You do what you want. There are people that revealed the Creator which are called Kabbalists, true Kabbalists, that yearn to reveal the Creator, that yearn to be similar to him and close to Him and if you want to be like them if you want to be closer to the Creator then you need to listen to what they say, to accept the same exercises in the same actions that they recommend doing.

3. S. (07:42) You asked a very good question, what are we missing and lacking? We lack many things but what I'm seeing here is that  Baal HaSulam says here in this beautiful sentence, 'the more he grows the more he receives from his environment portions of bestowal upon others depending on the values and the environment '. Meaning the deficiencies in the environment, what are we missing in our environment as Bnei Baruch to reach these moments of fear of spiritual  fear, what are we missing?

R. We lack examples between us to what each and every extent to which even and everyone wants to bestow upon the society through them to the Creator.

S. That's the problem. What does it mean for examples to one another? Can you give an example of what we are missing?

R. That everyone will see that everyone wants to reach a connection between them and from them to the Creator.

S. But there's a line before it in order to show what we're missing for fear of not attaining it? Maybe that's why we're lacking the fear of not making it and not getting to it?

R. We’ll go according to what they're writing and not according to what you're saying.

S. That's what he says about fear.

R. OK

4. S. (09:20) Is there a connection to the order of my actions in the Ten to these corrections?

R. Leave that, we're talking about' love thy friend is thyself' that's the principle that I need to show everyone. That I'm going towards coming closer to the friends and with them I'm coming closer to the Creator.

S. It's clear here what he talks about here, that he doesn't care for the Creator and how you slaughter an animal.

R. Let's leave that. The Creator has a few conditions in order to be close to him, in order to be better for him, so he says if you slaughter a beast then you need to do it a certain way. We don't slaughter so it's not related to us.

5. S. (10:40) In every commandment there's the action and the intention. Is it correct if we aim the intention towards one another and the intention meaning the Creator is this the right combination?

R. That's the correct combination it also needs to be between the friends and towards the Creator.

6. S. (11:14 ) At what point is a person willing to let go of his ego and come out towards the other?

R. When he sees that his actions towards the others and towards the Creator are the same actions, and there is only one address that needs to receive his efforts.

7. S. (11:44) How can a person in ten check to see if the measure of bestowal in the environment is growing and they're not cheating themselves?

R. They cannot only open their hearts as much as possible towards their friends.

8. S. (12:15) How should we determine the border, the boundary between spiritual development when we take examples from one another with the right attitude versus actions that we just do?

R. This is a result of experience.

9. S. (12:40) The will to receive is slaughtered, what is the Kosher way to slaughter the will to receive? What does that mean?

R. The correct slaughter of the will to receive is when we don't let it breathe, we don't give it life.

S. Usually you slaughter an animal that will suffer the least, is that the meaning?

R. Do it like that, it doesn't matter as long as you do.

10. S. (13:32) In ourTen we also didn't find a mutual question of what we lack and you answered him that you lack examples that can help us.

R. So what's your question?

S. We give examples to others who want to help others, so what examples should we have? Maybe our examples are wrong. What should we add?

R. Whatever you can scrutinize between you, whatever you can scrutinize between you, you're just asking me questions because I cannot give you answers. When you discuss amongst yourself all those states you will find the answer there.

S. Why examples, why not mutual prayer to search for deficiency?

R. Do that too, talk amongst yourselves. what can help us because after all we've been chasing our tails running in circles and we're not finding the right address.

Reading: (14:49) “ the more he grows the more he receives from his environment.."

11. R. (15:03) If he's in the right environment.

Reading continues (15:05) Pending on the value of development

12. R. (15:28) Meaning for him to make correct actions in order to exist corporeally,, like an animal, according to however everyone is.

Reading continues (15:40)

13. R. (15:52) This he's talking about those who have a preparation for it, one whose soul reveals to him the Reshimot, the records whereby he needs to advance further towards attaining the upper force.

Reading continues (16:08)

14. R. (18:05) Yes meaning to make them pure, to purify and cleanse them, to cleanse them from their evil inclination the will to receive for himself in everything they will be able to do they will want to do only in order to bestow through the other to the Creator.

15. S. (18:28) It turns out that what is lacking is my example. I don't have the inner intention to give him an example so what does it mean to give an example?

R. Show them how you love them and how you're willing to do anything so that they too will love one another.

16. S. (19:10) It's very special to see how he writes and every place about Lishma nand Lo Lishma in all his writings and second, I didn't understand he writes here that when he grows he's taught how to work Lishma and you said it's not for everyone?

R. I'll tell you, we're approaching a state where more and more people feel that they must enter a different relationship with nature, the Creator, others and everyone. The root, the new root appears in a person in our times.

S. Whoever has a point in the heart and awakens to study the wisdom of Kabbalah and then on the path to Lishma rows or is it not for everyone?

R. What do you mean on the path of course he's aimed at it but does he make it or not in this lifetime or the next that I cannot say. Its not my calculation.

S. What conditions are required for a person to enter Lishma?

R. The conditions, love yourself as your friend but before that you have many additional actions that you're approaching until we invite the reforming light and it brings it to a state that you'll want to be in love with humanity.

17. S. (20;39) In relation to what you said now, you cannot reveal the matter of Torah because only it can be done when one acquires knowledge. What does that mean?

R. It depends on the development of the soul and here we need to see that everyone is not equal. There are some who are more developed more towards spirituality and those who developed less so you need to give everyone an opportunity to develop but patiently and see how each and everyone is capable of it. Someone could be a good person but he might even have an inclination, the right inclination but he doesn't have the clear powers that advance him. So on and so forth there are those who don't come to the right society and there are those who come to the right society but they missed our opportunity and they go to the next round.

S. What does it depend on the force of overcoming or all kinds of states?

R. Yes, that too.

Reading item #13 (21:18 )“ if indeed there are two paths..”

18. S. (27:00) Baal HaSulam writes here that we have a certain law and nature that it doesn't matter what actions I do towards the love of others, eventually I'll see that it's for my own benefit unless I do it with some returning lights and so on. Later he says towards the end that I need to accustom oneself to keep Torah and Mitzvot to give contentment to the Creator and then gradually one comes out of the natural inclination and requires a second nature love of others, what is this changing of attitude that I need to change it myself towards the others?

R. It is a very simple thing but because we don't know what it is we cannot depict it in our emotions or in our mind and we see ourselves confused between two trees so to speak. All in all where we are is called the will to receive and we work from within the will to receive. That's her nature that's my I myself if it feels good I come closer if I feel bad I pull back. I don't think twice about it. There's another function for the created being that it's not in the will to receive but in the will to bestow opposite to the will to receive. What does it bring him to? It brings me to how I consider the force of bestowal, the Creator more than I consider him my own force of reception. It turns out that whatever's for the sake of the Creator becomes more important than what I am doing for myself.

Try to look at life in this way. I get out of bed and I begin to function and I wish to determine my actions in the following way, whatever is good to the Creator I'm doing it. I want to do for him and for his sake and to give him joy and contentment that's it. Instead of constantly thinking of myself which is something that awakens in me automatically. I am holding myself to constantly think about and be aimed at the Creator. Why is it so difficult? Let's try to do such exercises, as much as each one will try, we generate a special atmosphere, a bubble in which we can exist. We have a society where everyone is thinking about the greatness of the Creator and how to give him contentment and how to keep his desire and to carry out his will.

S. The problem is that there's a point here that also when you say in words that will give contentment to the Creator there is a feeling that it's something's being missed here?

R. It's not too bad as much as it's being missed, it's okay don't worry about it, we will nevertheless reach the correction. We need to try and come closer to it.

S. The state that you continue going on with is this what he's saying about the beginning of the part here is that he gives the integration of all the created beings?

R. I didn't get the question.

S. This work that you continue no matter how you feel you can't in you and you say also everything is the Creator you ignore all the feelings these actions one and another one, is that what it means to use the Mitzvot to cleanse that the Mitzvot were given to cleanse the souls? Is that the essence of these actions?

R. Yes, you have 613 desires in total in you and you need to aim these desires through the other to the Creator, from love of the created beings to love the Creator, that's what we're trying to do.

S. I got confused because before you said that we need to insert the Creator between myself and the others and now from the others to the Creator?

R. It's okay it doesn't matter if you can get confused this way or that way. The important thing is to do these actions of bestowal as much as you can do them in the Ten you will be able to aim yourself better at the Creator, You'll begin to feel that these actions that you're doing in the Ten, they grab you and they bring you closer to the Creator. Otherwise no, you will not be able to come closer to the Creator without coming closer to the friends. In the beginning it will feel as if it's possible and you do it but later you'll see it's impossible. It's truly from love of the created being to love the Creator. That's the rule.

S. (33:21) You gave an exercise that as soon as you wake up you do it for the well-being of the Creator, what do you do when you don't have the desire to be for the sake of the Creator?

R. You obligate yourself to constantly think about it and habit becomes second nature.

20. S. (33:45) I had one say about the slaughtering of the will to receive. I heard another say that about the gap, what should we speak of in the ten?

R. With the ten I have to reach with the friends this concept of one, this is all of us as one as one man and one heart and from this concept of one, when we aim ourselves at the Creator who is one, and by that we complete the entire correction. Creation returns to its source. We are now on a very simple line that stretch from here to the end of correction there's nowhere else to run to there's no way to actually get confused about it if we hold on to it in this way then very quickly we begin to feel the spiritual realm and ourselves in it and how all of humanity how has to pass behind us and we will see that it will be exactly in this way without any doubt we will see it it's not philosophy it's not psychology, it's simply a fact, the laws of nature. That's what's written in the Torah.

Reading item # 14 (35:47) “Thus we can clearly see that toward those who observe Torah and Mitzvot Lishma….”

21. R. (37:00) Although we are still thinking that if we will aim ourselves directly to the Creator it would have been easier and better and shorter, we still cannot understand and feel how that network of connection the relationship between us that we discover as we come closer to one another specifically that network is capable of helping us to detect the Creator that you cannot approach him any other way.

Reading item # 14 continues

22. S. (38:24) Rav you explain here that Israel, the Torah, and the Creator are one and that is the Holy One revealed?

R. Israel are the ones who yearn for the relationship of the Creator any person in the world who yearns for that is called Israel, Yashar Kel, the light is the path, the forces we discover in order to reach the Creator, and all of it happens as one action, one path, and one goal and then we are incorporated in the center of creation. That's why it's called one. Like one, as one.

S. But first Israel needs to cling to the Torah to the behavior of love thy friend as thyself?

R. Yes, that's along the way.

S. And when we adhere He fulfills what we spoke of before

R. Yes.

23. S. (39:44) How to be subjugated, annulled and to agree with everything that the Creator brings upon one and on the other hand to be in prayer and demand, excetera?

R. Because I am in a state where I constantly try to approach the Creator, I try to get to know those conditions that I need to fill in order to be close to Him, and I'm asking Him to reveal to me all the other laws of Torah these are the conditions by which I adhere to the Creator and that's how I perform this action of unity.

S. His demand is lack of agreement with the state?
R. Of course I disagree with the state I wish to be in a better state, a higher state, closer, more in adhesion, more incorporated in the Creator.

S. So, how is this expressed, this acquiring it that he's taking me through it now?

R. This means that I annul myself relative to the conditions of Lo Lishma. I'm willing to go to Lishma no matter the condition, whatever the condition, to reach a higher degree of bestowal.

24. S. (41:30) Is the sensation that is created by this network of connections, is it felt at an individual level or at the level of the collective?

R. On a personal level first, first personal, individual. We have reached the end of the lesson and it was actually a good lesson, we scrutinized many things, there was a special connection between us. I'm actually happy with this lesson. Let's hope that we will continue this line and rise higher and higher. Thank you to all the women. They were exceptionally modest today and they didn't bring up too many questions, also good.
