Lesson 23|30 de mai de 2010
The process of spiritual growth in a person takes place gradually, step by step, from our world to the World of Infinity. All people in our world are initially equal by virtue of their egoistic nature. Everyone wants to receive and to bestow for their own benefit. Bestowal in order to receive is a more sophisticated form of egoism than reception, because it deceives a person: one feels oneself as altruistically giving, not realizing that in this way one only satisfies one’s own egoism. When entering a Kabbalistic group, we begin to perform acts of bestowal with clear understanding that we are doing it for ourselves. Such work leads us to recognition of our true nature, which cannot be changed by one’s own effort: external altruistic actions remain, in essence, egoistic. At that moment, a firm desire arises within us to change our intention. Bestowal in order to receive in a Kabbalistic group is a transitional state, in which the Upper Light transforms our essence from egoistic orientation to altruistic. Then we are ready to move on to actions of bestowal in order to bestow, which is already a spiritual degree, the quality of Bina. Having attained the intention of bestowal in order to bestow, we can also ask for the next degree, reception in order to bestow. In this case, only the action changes, while the intention remains the same. In working in bestowal, we do not feel fatigue. The connection with the Creator gives us a powerful charge of energy, and with correct spiritual actions we receive great strength and delight. Passing through the stages of spiritual ascent, we become forever included in the eternal flow of energy, information, and fulfillment.
