Rabash: The Creator is Meticulous with the Righteous, Vol. 3 Art. 289

Hello, we are reading from Rabash articles, volume number 3, Article 289, The Creator is Meticulous with the Righteous. You can find the study materials on Sviva Tova and Arvut, and you can also send questions live through the website.

Reading Article: (00:30) The Creator Is Meticulous with the Righteous

“The Creator is meticulous with the righteous as a hairsbreadth” (Yevamot 121b).

When a person is in a state of “righteous,” when he is in ascent, He is meticulous with him that his aim will be for the sake of the Creator, meaning not to take this ascent as support and say, “Now I see that it is worthwhile to serve the Creator,” since now he feels pleasure in his work. It follows that this is not for the sake of the Creator because it is not the faith in the Creator that makes him be a servant of the Creator, but rather the pleasure is the cause.

So, what does the Creator do? He drops him from his high state into a state of lowliness. It follows that he is punished on the spot. This is the meaning of the words, “It is very stormy around Him,” meaning that the Creator is meticulous with the time of righteousness.

But when a person is in a state of lowliness, when he does not feel a good taste in the work, it is pointless to be meticulous with him because he is in lowliness anyhow, and he has work to approach the Creator. Hence, it cannot be said that He will deny him the flavor of the work because now he feels no flavor.

The blow that one receives from the Creator, when He takes from him the flavor of the work, by this itself He heals him because then he has no other way to serve the Creator but with faith above reason. It follows that the blow that he received from the Creator, from this itself he can be healed, for otherwise, he will remain in separation.

By this we understand what our sages said, that by the blows of the Creator, He heals (Mechilta BeShalach). In other words, this is the healing—that He gives him room to work with faith without any support. By this we understand what our sages said, that by the blows of the Creator, He heals (Mechilta BeShalach). In other words, this is the healing—that He gives him room to work with faith without any support.

Also, we should understand what our sages said, “The Creator makes a decree and a righteous revoke it” (Moed Katan, 16). This means that the Creator makes a decree, taking from him the pleasure of the work, and there is no harsher decree than taking from someone the vitality in the work.

But the righteous revokes it. That is, if a person says he wants to work without any reward of vitality and pleasure, then the decree is revoked in any case. Moreover, now he rises to a higher degree, for now he is in a state of pure faith and is regarded as having no self-interest.

M. Laitman: (04:48) We’ll hear it, again.

Re-Reading Article: (04:53) Record 289. The Creator Is Meticulous with the Righteous

M. Laitman:  Okay, let’s hear the questions?

Question (Women MAK): (09:34) What does it mean that the Creator is meticulous with the righteous?

M. Laitman: Meaning the Creator gives the person such states that are necessary for the person in order to ascend, spiritually. Therefore, we say that the Creator gives all this in a very meticulous way to the person. And how does the person receive it, that's already a different question. The person needs to understand that everything that happens to him happens only with the Creator; therefore, he must not determine any state that he goes through according to his feeling, but only according to the goal.

Student: Can we hold the ascent by itself and to develop it? Or is it a state that we cannot do it, anymore, because we reached the tip of it?

M. Laitman: No, that's something that a person doesn't know – above the reason or underneath it – he doesn't know. He needs to make efforts and to ascend more.

Student: Thanks to what?

M. Laitman: It is written that he needs to receive the attitude of the Creator towards him as necessary, correct. And then, he will have a correct attitude towards the Creator's attitude towards him, towards the Creator, and he will yearn in that state to ascend more and more.

Student: How do we hold the intention for the sake of heaven?

M. Laitman: One person cannot do it, here you need an environment. Meaning it's necessary to be with the friends, it's necessary to talk to them, to discuss with them. And in such a manner, the person slowly comes to a state where within him all the intentions, all the thoughts would be aimed only on how to hold on to the connection with the Creator.

Student: Can you fall into the next degree, already in the ascent?

M. Laitman: No, you cannot fall in the ascent, it sounds lovely, but it's impossible.

Student: So, we need to feel the minus of the negativity of the degree.

M. Laitman: Yes, of course.

Question (Women MAK 98): (12:59) If I feel pleasure in our work, so it's not for the sake of Heaven. How can I work in joy with faith in the Creator and to enjoy? We used to learn that the work itself is the reward. How do we enjoy the reward?

M. Laitman: That comes, gradually, that comes gradually.

Question (Moscow 4): (13:35) From what I understand, a person bestows to the Creator and then he receives pleasure, that's how the Creator does. It’s when a person stops to receive pleasure until he starts to bestow 20 kilos.

M. Laitman: Let's assume so.

Student: Why does the Creator not give freedom of choice to a person, which means to enjoy with the ten kilograms and then it's a freedom of choice. You want twenty kilos, okay, you want five kilos? Okay, as long as the person bestows and receives pleasure.

M. Laitman: In principle, that's how it happens.

Student: But it turns out that the Creator forces the person to bestow more and more, and you have only one option to agree with it.

M. Laitman: You don't need anything else, because this is the most correct choice; to receive what the Creator has done for you and to be grateful for it.

Student: I didn't understand from the article why it is like that. Why is there a system that at the end of the day, a person needs to bestow more and more until he reaches the max. Why does a person not have the freedom of choice?

M. Laitman: What can a person choose from? Between what?

Student: A person can choose that he bestows to the Creator, like this or like that. That's what he decides.

M. Laitman: How can it be that this is what he decides all of a sudden?

Student: It turns out that the concealment is happening that we can have some sort of a freedom of choice, and the freedom of choice is being organized by the person that is being forced. In the time of receiving, in the time of bestowing, it's always pushing a person with a stick. I would like to do it as a present, as if I add on more, but I've been forced.

M. Laitman: When you are able to choose in such a manner, you will see and you will reveal. For now, there is no other calculation with you.

Question (Moscow 4): (16:16) Our descents, do we have to chew on our descents, to feel them, to go through them, to live in them, and not just to receive a blow and you fell into hard ground, and then you fly up?

M. Laitman: No, not necessarily as you think, you don't need to be in it, you don't need to chew it. No, there is no need, the main thing is as soon as possible to come out of this state.

Question (Women MAK 25): (16:58) What can help us to avoid the descent when we are in pleasure, and when we are in ascent and pleasure?

M. Laitman: Only if together you will support one of the other, that's the only thing that can help you.

Question (Women Italy): (17:25) Complete faith is to stand in front of the Creator by yourself. And within reason you agree and you have a reason to do so. What does a person in faith mean?

M. Laitman: That he is in faith means he has a connection with the Creator.

Question (Women Spain): (18:13) We know that everything is inside the Creator but how do we rise above when we feel like a rug and we cannot do it by ourselves? Is that faith above reason?

M. Laitman: If we feel that everything is in the hands of the Creator and we have nothing, then this state is, specifically, the best state because then I annul myself completely and I'm willing to adhere to the Creator no matter the state.

Question (Women Kavkaz 1): (19:05) I asked before if we need to yearn for flavor in the Torah. And you said that, meanwhile, the opposite – we need to open our hearts and to receive all the flavors of the Torah. He writes that in a time of ascent, I connect with the Creator, and then I receive more ascent. And then I start to feel that I deserve it, and then it disappears from me. The question is, yes, we need to work in flavor, and to try to feel, to taste the flavor, but not to receive it for ourselves. Which means to go to ascent but not to receive it for myself.

M. Laitman: Yes, yes, you are correct.

Question (English 1): (20:00) How do we work correctly for the sake of the Creator, rather than the pleasure?

M. Laitman: To constantly think about the Creator and to uphold His will.

Question (Moscow 7): (20:38) When a person is in a state of loneliness, and he turns to the group, he cannot get out of it by himself. What is the role of the group, how can they advise him? And how can a person listen to them? There will probably be lots of advice, and the group can advise only one thing, hold on to the Creator.

M. Laitman: Then the group would aim him through it.

Student: Does the group aim him toward the Creator because this connection with the Creator is being given from above?

M. Laitman: No, no, the group can aim him. The group can aim him towards it, and from it, to the Creator.

Student: Which means the group, right?

M. Laitman: Yes, yes.

Student: Is there any connection that needs to be revealed?

M. Laitman: Exactly, it's an internal connection that exists within them.

Question (Turkiye 2): (21:46) What is the study of a person about beyond reason towards the Creator?

M. Laitman: What does a person need to study? He needs to study what we stud and the main thing is that his intention would be in order to come to bestow contentment upon the Creator. To constantly ask himself: What does the Creator enjoy from? What can I do for the Creator that He will receive pleasure from me?

Student: A person is the will to receive and the Creator is the will to influence. So, how can a person build the tool in which he can give comfort to the Creator?

M. Laitman: Why not? He will receive forces of strength from above that will alter him. It will change him from intentions in order to receive, to intentions in order to bestow.

Question (Women Spain): (23:57) How do we identify a state of descent in the work in order for us go above reason?

M. Laitman: We need to connect between us, and bestow between us, until we turn together to the Creator and receive from Him the power, the force, with which we will be able to act above reason.

Student: If I can have the opportunity to identify when I am in a descent, to come to a state where I am above reason, to try to be above reason. How do I identify the descent?

M. Laitman: To identify the descent, I can do it by recognizing that I am not drawn to a connection with the Creator but to all sorts of pleasures of my own. That's it.

Question (MAK 24): (25:33) When we are in ascent, the Creator throws us downwards; and when we are in descent, our body tells us, why should I keep working this? How do we find the balance between the two?

M. Laitman: To be together with the friends, constantly be connected with the friends. And in such a way that you will always be in that connection and within that connection you will support the connection with the Creator. And then you will not go wrong.

Question (Women Polish): (26:20) When the Creator strikes, He heals us. Is it only towards spirituality or also in corporeality?

M. Laitman: In principle, also in the physical, in the corporeal.

Question (Petah Tikva 6): (26:40) When the Creator strikes the righteous, is it possible that He strikes them because of the people, the nation?

M. Laitman: It could be?

Student: Is there any connection between the nation and the righteous because there is only one righteous in the nation? Can it be that it is because the righteous, the nation, receives blows? And because of the nations, the righteous receive blows?

M. Laitman: No, no, in such a way it doesn't happen.

Student: What is the connection between the two?

M. Laitman: There is always a goal that the Creator sees in what way the people, or the righteous, or the group, comes closer to the goal. And according to that, He reveals to them.

Question (Haifa 1): (27:51) When a person is in lowliness, and the Creator takes the joy from the work, how does he hasten the time and to get out of the lowliness?

M. Laitman: To close your eyes and to connect with the friends.

Student: At the end of the verse, He says that He can cancel the … and then He can continue the work. Can we get out of lowliness? The person says, “I am willing to continue the work, so that means that he gets out of lowliness?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Women Turkiye 7): (28:41) I am confused, the article says, the blows that one receives from the Creator, when He takes from him the flavor of the work, by this itself, He heals him. Are we only able to serve the faith above reason when we don't get any taste?

M. Laitman: Well, at least so in the beginning, yes.

Student: In our work, going to the Creator, walking in this path with joy and happiness, when do we start doing this, when do joy and happiness begin?

M. Laitman: When we have the correct vessels, then we advance towards the Creator in a correct manner and we feel the pleasures along the way.

Question (Tbilisi): (30:29) From the article, I feel that the Creator is Good and Benevolent. Always gives what we need to get rid of and to then walk in the correct path in faith above reason. If I am constantly going in faith above reason, that the Creator is Good and Benevolent. And I get everything that He gives in joy, is that the correct way, is that good for the friends?

M. Laitman: Yes, for sure.

Student: Great trepidation, fear, before the Convention. I, personally, am annulled a lot towards the friends. And it doesn't matter what complaints I had, I remove everything. And I simply want to come to the convention with a clean heart in order to give pleasure to the friends, to give pleasure to the Creator, to Rav. What else should I do, how do we come to the convention in such a way that you can enjoy, give pleasure to the Creator?

M. Laitman: Think only about that.

Question (Kyiv): (31:59) It turns out that when a person feels joy and pleasure from the work of the Creator. And sees that he is in the Creator's world, the world of all good, the Creator needs to bring him down from it, if I understand the article, correctly.

M. Laitman: Yes, what for?

Student: In order for the person not to be in equivalence of form with the Creator and not to bring Him contentment.

M. Laitman: Yes, correct.

Student: When the person receives pleasure from the work, and he sees how wonderful the world is that the Creator created and helps him. What else should a person do in order for the Creator not to have the necessity to bring him down and to go into concealment?

M. Laitman: It is all happening by the Creator and a person should continue, that's it.

Student: The Kabbalists bestow towards the Creator, it's not a condition. It doesn't matter whether he has pleasure from it or not; how do we ascend to such a degree?

M. Laitman: Ask of the Creator that in the worst states, you will have the opportunity to bestow to the Creator.

Student: And for the very best ones?

M. Laitman: Yes, for the very best ones.

Student: In the article, it says that it's complex to bestow in the very best conditions because you're already receiving from the Creator, it's as if you're corrupted.

M. Laitman: So, what do you suggest?

Student: Well, to find a way of being above this; that you yearn for the pleasure from the connection with the Creator and it's not correct.

M. Laitman: Correct?

Student: So, how do we do so? What intention should be the correct intention?

M. Laitman: Bestow to the Creator, bestow to the Creator.

Question (Women Kyiv 7): (34:37) How is a new vessel for bestowal towards the Creator  being built while you are in ascent?

M. Laitman: I ascend and I always check myself: To how can I bestow to the Creator more and more. That's it.

Question (Women Rehovot 1): (35:03) This article is so suitable for our environment and what's happening in Israel. It says here, “he falls from his high state to a state of lowliness. When we are in a state of lowliness, we cry sometimes. How does crying help us to soften the blows, to receive an answer, to receive some sort of improvement?

M. Laitman: When I ask, also in the bad states for a connection with the Creator through the friends. Then, those states connect with me and they give me a bigger field that I can be connected with the Creator and the friends, together.

Student: Is that the Gate of Tears – is that the meaning of us connecting to it, to a higher place?

M. Laitman: Yes, a higher place.

Question (Women Hebrew 2): (36:48) Continuing the friends questions, can we justify the Creator and at the same time be upset with him? Is there such justification?

M. Laitman: Yes, you need to continue and it's all going to get better.

Student: Kabbalists are upset with the Creator?

M: Laitman: Yes, also, yes.

Question (Women Italy): (37:28) The connection in the Ten prepares us for the connection with the Creator but on two different levels. What quality must the connection with the Creator have?

M. Laitman: That I want to be in a constant connection with Him and exist without any changes, only towards ascent. This is how we want to be connected with the Creator.

Question (Moscow 1): (38:27) Is it possible to turn a lack of force to a force of connection with the Creator?

M. Laitman: It depends on the environment.

Question (Moscow 4): (38:48) The person comes to the Ten and asks: How else can I bestow to the Creator? They give him advice and it turns out that he knows all that, already. So, what else can you add to that person, he knows what he needs to add but he has no strength to do so. There is some sort of a glass ceiling that he cannot go past it. Is that his degree or is there such a limitation?

M. Laitman: There is no limitation, it all depends on the person.

Question (Hadera 1): (39:33) The Creator is meticulous with the righteous. Is He meticulous only with the righteous?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: And it's written that what the Creator strikes, He also heals, blows also heal. There are blows that bring us closer to the Creator and those that take you away from the Creator. Is it true that both of them are healing?

M. Laitman: Yes, every strike heals.

Student: Even if it's pushing the person away from the Creator?

M. Laitman: Even if it seems like it's pushing the person away, yes.

Question (Women MAK 97): (40:23) Does the person necessarily need to go past the point of lack of flavor, lack of taste, in spirituality in order to reach faith?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Women MAK): (40:50) A clear faith is when a person comes to a true recognition that if the Creator would not hold him, then he will fall and won't be able to bestow in order to bestow. Then, doing reception in order to bestow and holding on to it is prayer for the light of faith.

M. Laitman: Correct.

Question (Women Turkiye 10): (41:18) The study is a duty for us and when we do the study, it's as if a mission we took upon ourselves. And after a while it becomes less and less enjoyable, we lack excitement and joy. So, should we turn to the Creator to give us joy and excitement, or should we focus on our mission?

M. Laitman: No, no, we need to turn to the Creator.

Question (Women Hebrew 2): (41:53) When the Creator gives blows, He heals. What's the work of a person between the blow and the healing?

M. Laitman: A person needs to receive this blow and to know how he uses it, correctly, how to heal himself.

Question (Women Hebrew 2): (42:16) What does it mean that the Creator takes livelihood from a person?

M. Laitman: When a person does not feel vitality in his connection with the Creator. It is a good state, actually, he awakens the man, the person, into states that he can overcome.

Student: Because it's as if he's taking the strength from the work. He's not giving us the strength to bestow, to come to connection.

M. Laitman: Yes, on purpose so the person can see how much the Creator helps him.

Question (Women Moscow 6): (43:24) Are the pleasure from bestowal and joy the same thing?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: The Creator does not take pleasure from bestowal, he takes it from something else. How do we agree with working without flavor or should we constantly work in such a way? Because joy shows advancing in the correct manner?

M. Laitman: Like that, and also like that.

Question (Women Petah Tikva 33): (43:57) When the Creator drops a person to a state of lowliness, where he has no flavor in the work. How can we be careful not to fall into self-pity, but to work in a correct manner?

M. Laitman: Only through the group, only in the connection with the friends; nothing else but that.

Question (Women MAK 98): (44:34) If we are unable to enjoy, how can we return the pleasure to the Creator, if we cannot perceive the pleasure?

M. Laitman: Then you need to learn how to receive.

Student: How do we receive, correctly? To give straight away?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: There is no passing feeling, not passing, but it goes from me straight to the Creator.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Women Spain): (45:21) How can we reach that constant connection without any change?

M. Laitman: I don't know but we need to search how it can be possible.

Question (Women Hebrew 2): (45:47) When a person, out of the blows, understands that he has nothing more but to add in connection, and there is an internal cry out, and he doesn't know how to pass it on to the Ten. In that place, does he give to the Ten or take away from the Ten?

M. Laitman: Gives or takes is not important, what is important is that he is in connection with them.

Question (Women Kavkaz 1): (46:14) No translation

M. Laitman: Don't pay attention to that, just continue to work on the connection between you.

Question (Women Kavkaz 1): (46:54) In the work between us, we need to attain a spiritual connection and we keep the coarseness, the impression from the coarseness? Or is it a spiritual connection that is revealed in a physical connection, that we feel that we are within it?

M. Laitman: Inside the physical connection.

Student: And we feel that we are being corrected, that we become cleansed, that we become better, or the opposite, that we become worse.

M. Laitman: No, we are not getting any worse.

Question (Women MAK 142): (48:08) What can I give the Creator in the time of pleasure and in the time of descent?

M. Laitman: Whatever you feel is what you give to Him.

Question (Women Baden-W): (48:41) If a thought comes out of the descent that we should not rush. We've been doing it for many years and are unsuccessful, is there any link between the place of the Creator and the demand from the Creator to ascend?

M. Laitman: No, there is no link.

Question (Women Turkiye 5): (49:28) I hear that the Creator gives us blows to give us nerves as strong as steel. If I see a friend outside of me who cannot connect with me because of her ego and I feel deep pain and fear that the Creator will be unhappy. And my friend will not be able to come to a full, right and altruistic connection because with me.

Is the Creator in that state?

M. Laitman: First of all, that you want the Creator to connect with them, with your friends, and not with you, yes, that's it.

Question (Women Spain): (50:31) In previous lessons, you spoke about the revelation of the evil in the Ten. And we took it upon ourselves as a mission, an assignment or exercise in the Ten to invest time and to scrutinize how to do it. How do we do this without causing chaos in the Ten?

M. Laitman: To be constantly connected as much as possible.

Question (Women Turkiye 7): (51:06) During the descent, I go through a period of time where I feel that my feelings are hard and I have no desire to get close to anyone. For example, for one week I struggle with these feelings and thoughts. And then suddenly I start to see and feel things differently, in a positive way. What determines the transition to this difference of feelings during the period of that time?

M. Laitman: Everything comes from the Creator, it doesn't quite depend on you. It all comes from the Creator, He heals it.

Question (Women Spain): (52:18) How do I know for certain that I'm bestowing to the Creator? Is that according to my ability to make a restriction and then in this space, the flavors of the Torah are revealed?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Women MAK 19): (53:01) If each and every one takes upon himself to depict as if we are organs, and we conclude that we are all as one body, we feel ourselves as one body. Can we do such an exercise or is it better to just pray?

M. Laitman: The best thing is to pray, and the Creator will put each and every one in his spot.

Question (Women Turkiye 8): (54:00) You said that in the descent we see how much the Creator has helped us. Should we ask for this help again in the descent?

M. Laitman: Every time it's something new, every time it's new. Even though we don't know what it is, even though we don't feel any changes.

Question (Petah Tikva 22): (54:36) Can we receive the light of faith only in lowliness or can we receive it also in an ascension?

M. Laitman: Usually we receive the light of faith in lowliness, yes.

Student: Dropping down from our state, we cannot receive it, I understand.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: Sometimes, we say that everything is in the hands of the heavens. And I heard you say before that we determine when to do everything. How do we decide what is from the Creator and what's up to us to do?

M. Laitman: This is something that slowly, slowly, we will start to understand and feel.

Until it comes, you can expect it. But it does not force the Creator to give you such states.

Student: Meaning, it's not up to the Ten to decide?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Novosibirsk): (55:52) It's written that if he's already in a state of lowliness, there is no point in throwing him lower. And he only needs to make efforts to come closer to the Creator. The question is when it seems externally that the friend cannot overcome a disturbance for many years and he's not really asking for help from the Ten. How can we define such a state, to we examine that state?

M. Laitman: This is hard, you need to ask, everything goes through the Creator – everything comes from Him. We need to ask Him to give you an explanation about your state.

Reader: (56:42) When a friend in the Ten receives a blow, how can we help him understand that in essence it's a healing?

M. Laitman: To talk about it, not even with him but when he's present – as if it does not belong to him.

Student: So, when we see something like what happened today in Israel, what should we do?

M. Laitman: We need for everyone to understand that this has happened because we are not okay, we are not in an okay state.

Student: Our state is not all right, what's not all right?

M. Laitman: Us, the Israeli nation, we are not all right.

Student: Our action is not all right, and that's why you received blows?

M. Laitman: I did not say that, but this is the reason.

Student: The question is how can we take the pain of the people and make it into a healing?

M. Laitman: You need to be in a very strong vessel and to connect with the upper one. To the nation and to receive their suffering and to raise their suffering through your group to the Creator. And then the Creator will be able to heal you.

Student: At the end of the day, is it our work to take the pains from friends, from groups, from the nation, from the world, and to ask correction for them?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: Is it not a personal, individual, work of each and every one to pray for his own problems?

M. Laitman: Also.

Question (Women MAK 97): (59:02) Is it possible to say that the person has one choice – not to stay as a beast? Is that the only choice that the Creator wants from him?

M. Laitman: Of course.

Question (MAK 24): (59:21) Can it be a state that we feel connection with the Creator but at the same time a feeling of deficiency?

M. Laitman: Yes, it can be.

Student: How do we characterize this state? Is it as an alignment of that state or a jump to the next state?

M. Laitman: It doesn't matter as long as you can explain it. The main thing is that we are always aimed through the friends to the Creator. This is the main conclusion of the lesson today.

I hug you all, and I hope all the best for you. Until tomorrow.
