Part 2:

Baal HaSulam. "Study of the Ten Sefirot" (TES). Vol. 2. Part 6. #42

Reading Item 42. (00:17) “Although the judgement was below…”

Reading Item 42 Inner Light. (02:02) “The light of Ein Sof descended…”

Reading Item 43. (02:38) “Then those seven lower kings…”

Reading Item 43 Inner Light. (03:46) “Completely under the place of Malchut…”

1. S. (04:41) What does it mean that the seven Kings descended in the world of Beria below the place of Malchut of Atzilut?

R. Below the Parsa.

S.  What does it mean that they descended, everybody together?

R. The place of the seven Malech, kings is the place of the world of Beria.

2. S. (05:24) Can you explain what’s happening here, the seven Kings broke, shattered, and then this king Hadar was born?

R. The last king, the king of Malchut.

S. What is he, where was he born, and what’s his role?

R. The desire to receive that is in the expansion of the vessels by the lights is here being revealed more and more.

S. We’re talking about the light of AB SAG that came down and shattered the Parsa?

R. The light of AB SAG is the light of correction and here it's talking about the light of fulfillment, of filling. There's a light that is meant to correct creation and there's the light that is meant to the role itself of creation, to receive in order to bestow. The light of AB SAG is a light of the correction of creation. It has qualities of Hochma and qualities of Bina and both correct the vessels.

S. Item 42 we spoke about the light of AB SAG that shatters the Parsa and then the Kings break and descend. Then what happens in the item 43? Suddenly another seven Sefirot came out included together in the form of Adam.

R. That's the expansion of the vessels.

S. Which vessels expand here?

R. From Parsa below, that's why they were shattered.

S. You said there was a shattering, seven Kings shattered. That's after the expansion from above, the expansion causes the breaking, no? Explain what are the other seven Sefirot that appear here including in Adam, male, and female, what is that? Item 43 if you can.

R. 43, so let's start with 42: The light of Ein Sof descended and breached within them from above downward. This refers to the new light that descended and breached the Parsa and shone for Nekudim, as the ARI says. Also, breaching means revoking the boundary where there’s no Parsa. Then after the canceling of the Parsa those seven lower Kings descended below, into the world of Beria, below there the place of Malchut completely, yes to the place of Beria and their place below the Sefira of Bina remained vacant, and in that space between the Sefirot of Bina and those seven Kings, another seven Sefirot emerged, other ones, incorporated together in the image of Adam, consisting of male and female. This is ZON, which is called the eighth king, whose name is Hadar, and the name of his wife is Mehetabel, for Hadar is ZA and Mehetabel is Nukva. So, what?

S. What’s happening, what is all that?

R. What is he talking about, well look at the text.

S. Okay I understood that seven lower Kings descended, I thought they were already down below and then broke but here he says that they descended.

R. They expanded by the light, next.

S. They break, I don't understand what is the space, the vacant space between Bina and these seven Kings?

R. You are reading 43? Read it.

Reading item 43 again. (09:57) “Then those seven lower kings descended…”

3. R. (10:31) What do you understand in that?

S. Not much.

R. What is he talking about?

S. Those seven Kings after they shattered there was a vacant space and in that vacant space something new was born, that eighth King.

R. Yes.

S. Who is that eighth King that’s included in male and female, what’s happening there?

R. A new Partzuf is born.

S. Why?

R. There's a vacant place and there’s desire. The desire works with the upper light and does a coupling of striking and begets it.

S. Where did the desire come from, the desire that was there broke. Where does he get this new desire from?

R. It's a new Partzuf, the desire has been revealed and then those seven lower Kings descended below in the world of Beria. Where the seven Kings come from? The ZAT, the lower seven.

S. Those are the Kings that shattered, they broke.

R. Yes, and the light of Ein Sof, I’m reading 42: The light of Ein Sof descended and breached within them from above downward. This refers to the new light that descended and breached the Parsa and shone for Nekudim, as the ARI says. Also, breaching means revoking the boundary, it canceled the Parsa. Item 43: And then those seven lower Kings descended below, in the world of Beria, below the Parsa, under the place of Malchut of Atzilut completely and their place below the Sefira of Bina remained vacant, and in that space between the Sefira of Bina and those seven Kings, it’s the seven Sefirot, another seven Sefirot emerged, incorporated together in the image of Adam, consisting of male and female. This is ZON, it is called the eighth king, whose name is Hadar, and his wife’s name is Mehetabel.

S. He’s saying a new Partzuf was born but Partzufim is not just born out of nowhere?

R. ZON was born, yes.

S. We always learn that the Partzuf is born for some reason, Galgata begets AB, and so on.  What gives birth to the Partzuf here?

R. Now you're asking something else already. Here a Partzuf is born because there were still records from the shattering and the expansion of the light from above down as he says and then those seven descended down, and they are the ones that shone that part of Nedudot that awakened and connected in a new way called the world of Nekudim.

S. Light breaks the vessels because they don't fit, that’s what he explains?

R. Not always, if it comes to them, if they draw them or if they want them then they have the wrong calculation.

S. Yes, that's what he explained, I understand correctly. The vessels were of judgment, the light was mercy, and there was an incompatibility. After the shattering of the vessels, what is that new thing that is born and why?

R. The vessels that were broken parts of those vessels descended below, and their records ascended upwards as if there’s nothing, so what are we learning? That its place remained vacant below the Sefira Bina and in that space between the Sefira of Bina and those seven Kings another seven Sefirot emerged, different ones incorporated together in the image of Adam, consisting of male and female, meaning Rosh yes now also Guf came out and this is ZON, called the eighth King whose name is Hadar, and his wife’s name is Mehetabel because Hadar is ZA and Mehetabel is Nukva.

S. Between these processes there was another coupling, the Reshimot went up there was a new coupling and that's what begot the Partzuf?

R. Yes of course, as usual.

S. Generally speaking how is the process advancing, how to think of it correctly, the light has to expand?

R. The records rise to their source, to the Rosh of the Partzuf, and awaken the Rosh of the Partzuf and it seeks what else it can couple with and begets the next Partzuf.

S. The Partzuf of SAG that leads, and manages the process, what is it trying to do each time, to increase the area of influence?

R. Every Partzuf is attempting to carry out as many actions as possible in receiving in order to bestow, that’s the nature of Partzufim of Kedusha.

S. And if it can't?

R. Then it breaks. It depends, if it didn't do the right calculation, then it breaks, and it shatters.

S. How does the process continue?

R. Then the records from that shattering are corrected, meaning its calculation to begin with was not correct and the result of an incorrect calculation is shattering. After they shatter they can take into account all the results of the shattering and correct them, meaning to put the right calculation into the emergence of the new Partzuf.

S. If we speak from the point of view of the Creator it knows everything, it's not new information.

R. I don't want to talk about that.

S. How to understand that the calculation was incorrect, what’s the correction here?  The calculation was incorrect, we get the shattering, and we get all the results?

R. That these Reshimot that emerge, they include within them the calculation of the creature and the Creator, and they need to correct the relation between them.

S. And who's the created being here?

R. The world of Nekudim that needs to emerge.

S. The word created being confuses me because if we’re talking about us then I understand we’re created beings but here it’s all the system, no?

R. So what?

S. What in the system is the created being and what is the Creator if everything is still the system before there are people?

R. The light expands from above and it enters into the vessels. To the extent in which the vessels can identify that they’re receiving it in order to bestow there’s a connection between them and light expands within the vessels. To the extent in which the vessels are not capable of discovering the gap between it and the light, then they make the wrong calculation, and they break. From this breakage the records ascend and then those records are corrected in the upper light towards the upper light by the addition or intensification of scrutiny’s and from that discernment small parts rise that are corrected only in VAK, only in a small doses and it goes that way until all the vessels are corrected, that’s the actual process. There’s nothing you can do about it, that’s how we are also, even accordingly we understand how we need to correct ourselves, how we need to discover ourselves, and that wherever we're not certain we take cautious steps.

4. S. (20:27) He writes that GAR which are KHB existed and only the King’s below Bina broke. There are Kings that did not break?

R. Eight Kings broke, the seven Kings of death.

S. The eighth king, Hadar that was created now did not break.

R. No.

S. Why, what does it give us?

R. It belongs to Bina. You will learn about him, that's the whole matter of the world of Atzilut that we engage with this King.

S. We understand here that while these Kings descend, they break, and they die as he writes. King of Hadar is during the time of refinement of all the Reshimot when they go back to the Partzuf and these seven Kings did not have the corresponding Nukva’s and here he writes that he has a male and a female.

R. Right, in a moment we’ll learn that too.
