Part 3:

Baal HaSulam. The Freedom (The Necessity to Preserve the Freedom of the Individual)

Reading Title (00:29) “The necessity to preserve the freedom of the individual..”

1. R. (07:48) Meaning of course we want to connect spirituality and corporeality. Of course the world wants to know how to manage all of nature, all of the universe, it's fate, how it moves, in what it's activated by but we have no connection between corporeality and spirituality and this is the main thing, how a spiritual force acts within a corporeal atom and this is why we are here completely lost. Meaning here it is the end; the end of the understanding. That we cannot understand how we are activated. But see what you want to hear.

2. S. (08:55) On one hand, Baal HaSulam writes that we need to protect the independence of a person and on the other hand we need to talk about how the individual wants to know how he's controlled, so nevertheless what is that uniqueness of the individual?

R. The freedom of the individual is in that to adhere to the Creator and in that measure you will be free and freedom is freedom from egoism.

S. To a simple person, how can you explain this to him? What is freedom for him?

R. The simple person you can explain to him after you work with him for half a year or year and gradually, gradually he shifts his sensations to you. Otherwise there is no way. Otherwise let them live like an animal and don't touch him.

3. S. (10:14) Each time we learn this article I can't understand the concept of the spiritual essence, maybe in Hebrew?

R. No, the spiritual essence is a soul for example. It's not something that we can understand or define or clothe in some sort of definition, we cannot do it right now.

S. Meaning there's a certain parallel world that's similar I don't even know what to imagine to myself?

R. You cannot depict it to yourself, so that's why I'm not saying so don't even try it, but know that such a thing exists and it is completely detached from you.

4. S. (11:11) On one hand Baal HaSulam says to keep the individual freedom of the individual on the other hand the individual is an egoist and it's inevitable that he will harm others with all his inclinations. Where is the border between freedom and protecting the individual in the environment?

R. This we will study onwards, we will continue to study and only if we will have the desire to bestow; an equivalence of form of the Creator?

S. In the egoist state of a person, how do you need to operate on one hand to give him freedom and on the other hand limit him. How can we relate to this?

R. We will study and we will learn about it, I told you.

5. S. (12:08) The form that is clothed upon the source which comes through the three factors and our ancestors, where is it expressed, where do we feel it and where does it exist, in the mind?

R. No, the mind only pulls it out and presents it before us. We feel it inside of us. Inside the soul.

S. Without attainment we have no connection to this?

R. No.

6. S. (13:00) From the perspective to the article, you yesterday, really touched me the answer that you gave when you said we are murderers of souls, the people who oblige or coerce unity, even upon our children. This part is not clear to me because I understand that towards our children, we need to educate them to the way of being grateful and for them to have values and spiritual ones, so if I would tell my child what to do or not to do this or not to do that.

Am I by that considered a murderer of his soul?

R. We need to as much as possible bring our kids closer to truth and after, as much as they want the truth, let them take it themselves, there is no coercion in spirituality. Which is why I saw this on Rabash and on his kids and grandkids and the kids and grandkids of Baal HaSulam: I met the entire family. No one would pressure anyone to study and to work in the wisdom of Kabbalah and if they want, so yes, if they don’t want,no. It was next to them and they knew that some people from the family are dealing with it and the rest to the extent that they want to or not. This is how we need to relate also to our relatives and to our children. That's it because as it's written, educate the youth according to their own way.

7. S. (15:26) Baal HaSulam wrote to us the central question: where is the essence of man himself but there's no answer here yet?

R. There will be wait, it's a soul, a person has a soul.

S. But he's not actually talking about that here?

R. He doesn't mention it, so wait.

S. He is just raising the question kind of because there are all kinds of theories here?

R. Yes, he's opening the actual matter and then there will be an answer.

8. S. (16:30) You said now an explosive sentence, you said how can it be that a corporeal atom would work as a spiritual one and all together how is that possible. He says something here that when a certain inclination inverts and takes on a form of the consequence you cannot differentiate in it with the good and bad. How can it be that an atom, a regular atom, can switch to be a corporeal atom, that's not clear in this excerpt?

R. He did not yet speak about this. He just mentioned that this is the conflict and the problem of how corporeality acquires spirituality and how spirituality clothes in corporeality, what connections we need between them and this is what he's asking about.

What will be after, I think about it and tomorrow we will continue. I am very happy to feel that this question touches you. Where is the connection between corporeality and spirituality? Is there a connection to spirituality? Of course there has to be. Where is the connection? Where do I feel that spirituality enters me that I act on spirituality back and where do I feel this connection between spirituality and corporeality, this thing is not felt in us, we need to reveal it and really acquire it; to stand on it.
