Part 1: Rabash. Record 642. Justice, Justice You Shall Pursue

Reader: Hello, today we are learning from an article from the writings of Rabash. Rabash Record 642. “Justice, Justice You Shall Pursue.” You can find the study materials on our website, Sviva Tova, and in the Arvut system, and ask questions there. Rabash record 642, “Justice, Justice You Shall Pursue.” Rav, please.

M. Laitman: (00:27) Read for us, please.

Reading Record 642: (00:39)

“Justice, justice you shall pursue, that you may live and inherit the land that the Lord your God is giving you.”

The interpreters ask about the duplication, “Justice, justice.” Also, we should ask about “that you may live.” If a person does not pursue justice, can he not live? Also, concerning “and inherit,” when the people of Israel were in their land, how was it relevant to say “and inherit,” in future form?

It is known that “from Lo Lishma [not for Her sake] we come to Lishma [for Her sake].” We should ask why one does not begin one’s work immediately in Lishma.

First, we should explain the matter of Lishma and Lo Lishma. The simple meaning of Lishma is for the sake of the Creator, when all that he thinks and wants is to benefit the Creator, called “to bestow upon the Creator.” It is known that man is born with the evil inclination, as it is written, “for the inclination in man’s heart is evil from his youth.”

M. Laitman: (02:19) Yes, that's why in order to reach equivalence with the Creator, we need to chase justice. And maybe after many, many efforts, we will be awarded with the inheritance of the land. The land is a desire, a desire that the Creator gives us. It will be already the desire of the Creator.

M. Laitman Re-Reading Record 642: (03:01) Justice, justice, you shall pursue that you may live and inherit the land that the Lord, your God, is giving you. The interpreters ask about the duplication. Justice, justice. Why twice?  Also, we should ask about “that you may live.” If a person does not pursue justice, can he not live? Also concerning an inheritance. When the people of Israel were in their land, how was it relevant to say, and inherit in future form? It is known that from Lo Lishma, not for her sake, we come to Lishma, for her sake. We should ask why one does not begin one's work immediately in Lishma? Why isn't he starting? Why does he need to be in Lo Lishma, not for her sake, to make a lot of effort, exertion, and action in order to, maybe after many years, to reach Lishma?

First, we should explain the matter of Lishma and Lo Lishma. The simple meaning of Lishma is for the sake of the Creator, when all that he thinks and wants is to benefit the Creator, called “to bestow upon the Creator.” It is known that man is born with the evil inclination, as it is written, “for the inclination in man’s heart is evil from his youth.”

Question (W MAK): (05:17) If justice is knowing to the Creator, how do we constantly aspire to the Creator to find him in everything?

M. Laitman: Do not forget. Simply do not forget. I always need to be occupied with something that relates to the Creator. And to do each time such signs in my memory that I can come back to it. Like news. We have the beginning of an hour, usually, in all of the world, in different languages. Similarly, we need to get used to going back to the Creator every now and again.

Student: If there is complete trepidation toward the Creator, how can the whole world Kli attain it and through us the whole world?

M. Laitman: The complete trepidation towards the Creator, a person acquires if he feels that he is completely dependent on the Creator. Completely yearns for him, and is completely willing to devote himself whole to come closer to the Creator and serve him. In such a way he reaches a connection, adhesion with the Creator, specifically through justice, justice you shall pursue.

Student: Can we say that Lishma is when we constantly attain the Creator, incessantly? And if we don't have the Creator in this way, then we don't need the Creator. But with the Creator, this world becomes, it adds color.

M. Laitman: Yes, nicely said.

Question (Almaty 1): (08:20) Can a person have a screen in the state of Lo Lishma? There is such a thing? If there is, what's the difference in the ability of resistance? If he has a screen in Lo Lishma versus having a screen in Lishma, what's the difference?

M. Laitman: The difference is the measure in which the person yearns towards the Creator. To what extent is he willing to give all his future in order to come closer to the Creator.

Student: The importance of the Creator in his eyes?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: How do we in Bnei Baruch, in all of the groups, adhere to the Creator to the same importance that you have?

M. Laitman: Not to that you need to aspire. You need to aspire to be closer between you and out of the connection between you, to try and to feel the Creator between you.

Student: So that yearning needs to grow between us?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: And where will you be then, Rav?

M. Laitman: I'll be somewhere there. I'm being very serious. I don't want you to be obligated or committed to me or linked to me, thanks to me. I want you to be free in your development.

Student: When we awaken that importance of the Creator between us, can we take you as an example for your level of importance to connect with ours?

M. Laitman: Yes, please, I'm willing. With me, you can use whatever way you want. Is that understood?

Question (Women Ukraine 2): (10:51) I’m in a state that I can't do things by myself to get up for the lesson, nothing, it's all a miracle. And when the Creator allowed me to be in the lesson, I sit and I feel how this pleasure just falls on me and how I'm happy, etc. And at the same time, I have a fear that I'm starting to enjoy and to extinguish this pleasure. The question is, what needs to be the inner work here, this inner action? What prayer needs to be so as not to agree with this for ourselves?

M. Laitman: You should agree for yourself, but transition yourself into a conduit, that through it, you will pass on everything that you receive, all the good that you receive, all the abundance that you receive from above, pass it on to the Ten and to the whole world.

Question (Women Ukraine 2): (12:08) In the lesson you said that the sinner doesn't want to use the strength of the Creator. Is it using the strength of the Creator when you cancel yourself and allow Him to pass through you?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Women Moscow 6): (12:24) As I heard; in order to reach equivalence of form with the Creator, we need to pursue justice. What is that?

M. Laitman: Justice, you shall pursue means to constantly look for it. Constantly look for it, since in it, you will attain the Creator.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (12:28) I don't understand. Who should we search for all the time if not the Creator? So, what is it, justice, justice you shall pursue?

M. Laitman: By pursuing justice, you come through that to the Creator.

Student: What does it mean to pursue justice?

M. Laitman: To pursue justice is when, in each state, you need to search for its basis, which is the justice, its base.

Student: What do you mean?

M. Laitman: I mean that the Creator is the justice. And we need to find everywhere, in every decision, in every find, that the justice is the basis, the foundation for everything.

Student: Justice, that justice you shall pursue, it means to pursue the Creator, same in everything? To pursue justice and pursue the Creator is the same thing, or there is some difference?

M. Laitman: Yes, and the justice is the revelation of the Creator. One of the ways of revealing the Creator is called justice. That after I pursue justice, in that way I come to inherit the land.

Question (Women MAK 25): (15:25) It's written that if a person is not aspiring towards the truth, he cannot live. But at the same time, you see people around in different forms of life. What is life here?

M. Laitman: Life, meaning life with connection with the Creator, which can only be if you live in the truth.

Student: And so truth is aspiring towards the Creator, is this all-encompassing form?

M. Laitman: It's a yearning that includes everything.

Question (Women Piter): (16:12) What does it mean to pursue justice in each state? We need to look for this foundation, we need to look for the Creator in every point? How do we do it correctly?

M. Laitman: How? With prayer, request, search. All our articles, the big ones, the small ones need to aim us only to the Creator.

Question (Turkiye 2): (17:00) How does the equality of justice spread within the Ten?

M. Laitman: It spreads only between those who want to be connected with the justice that will be revealed in them.

Question (Women Hebrew 2): (17:26) What is the spiritual meaning of justice? Because in every place there are people that are aspiring for justice, and everyone feels correct in their country. So, what is the true form of justice, despite that form of dispute in the country?

M. Laitman: Justice is the middle line.

Student: We reach that middle line in everything that's happening in the country and everyone feels like they're right and justice is with them. How do we reach a better place to have the true justice and not that each one thinks that he is right?

M. Laitman: This can only happen if we are yearning for the middle line.

Student: The whole nation or just us, Bnei Baruch?

M. Laitman: The person.

Student (English 1): (18:43) For those who have no notion of the Creator or justice or any of these ideas presently, is it enough just to read the texts, to study with you, to be with the Ten, and to just be patient and want it to happen, but just let it happen?

M. Laitman: Yes, yes, that's how it should be.

Student: If so, how can I speed up the process?

M. Laitman: By you, yourself, aiming to reach that sentence, justice, justice you shall pursue, and that you want it to happen to you, that you will understand from that in what state you are in.

Question (Women Italy): (20:06) We are tubes, we must be tubes. To be so, we must identify with a friend and with the brain. This is the justice between these two parties?

M. Laitman: We are tubes, and we must be so, and we need to identify with the friends, with the Creator.

Student: Is justice between these two parties?

M. Laitman: Both within the friends and both within the Creator, the justice exists, and I must come to the friends and through the friends to the Creator.

Student: Are these two parties always similar or equal for us?

M. Laitman: No, no. When it happens, we will see how it turns out.

Question (Women Haifa 1): (21:43) I didn't quite understand the two parts of the article, how they're connected to one another. Similarly, from the start, it's talking about justice, justice you shall pursue, and in the end, similarly after that, from Lo Lishma to Lishma. How are these things connected to each other?

M. Laitman: Because justice we can reveal only when we will be in Lishma.

Student: So, what is that question of why we can't start in Lishma? How is that connected?

M. Laitman: This is how he writes.

Question (Haifa 1): (22:28) Can we say justice is one of the names of the Creator as a result of spiritual attainment?

M. Laitman: Correct.

Question: (Women PT 39): (22:54) I heard you say previously to the friend that a person can give his entire future in order to adhere to the Creator. I wanted to ask, maybe you could expand on it. It's very moving what you said. How can a person give his entire future in order to adhere to the Creator?

M. Laitman: Exercises. Try to do such exercises and you will see how the Creator is gradually bringing you closer to this.

Question (MAK 13): (23:38) In the process of uniting the Ten we reach the recognition of evil and we reach a difficult state when love covers all crimes. And we turn to the Creator for this correction. But for some friends they succeed in doing that and some don't. Who should we turn to? Is it some image? It's not clear. Who are we turning to?

M. Laitman: To the upper force. Turn to the upper force.

Question (Women Rus 10): (24:30) How do we make it so the Creator will always direct us and that all our actions will be aimed at him?

M. Laitman: For that, you need to be constantly aimed towards Him. The more you have friends from your Ten, in that state they will be connected to the Creator.

Student: Can we say the greatness of the Creator is when we are always valuing these warm relations between us? And always yearning for more love between us?

M. Laitman: Of course.

Question (Women Kyiv 7): (25:25) How do we exercise that quality in the Ten of justice or truth through love and giving?

M. Laitman: Through you. Only through you.

Question (Women Turkiye 10): (25:49) We're working on finding the Creator in the spiritual study. What should I do if I want to find the Creator in everything we do even in the corporeal life?

M. Laitman: That will come later. Now you still don't have it. You need to advance gradually.

Question (Women PT 33): (26:22) Justice, justice you shall pursue. I reach a state where I perceived the Creator in a certain situation. And then it disappears, seemingly as if it never was there. And again, we need someone to remind us, society to society that will remind you There's None Else Besides Him. Does there exist some mechanism in order to teach us to pursue him?

M. Laitman: Yes. That is the mechanism that comes to us from above and through it the upper light turns to us, and this is how it awakens us.

Student: And what must I do for that mechanism, for the system to work ceaselessly to amplify the frequency?

M. Laitman: To be connected to the books, to the lessons. That's it.

Question (Women Turkiye 8): (28:20) Will we be able to accept injustice knowing that our spiritual roots are not the same as the spiritual roots of our friends?

M. Laitman: Pray. Pray that we want to be together.

Question (Women German): (29:07) In every lesson we’re working on pursuing justice. How do we guard the connection with the Creator and come closer to him even more, even outside of the lesson?

M. Laitman: You have a lot of material. You need to go over it constantly.

Question (Women Latin): (29:42) How does justice free us?

M. Laitman: Justice frees us from looking for a different attitude.

Student: Do we perceive justice when we remember or are reminded of the covenant we have or the promise that we have from the Creator?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: Related to an earlier question about how to acquire this force of bestowal when we feel powerless. In the covenant that we made in the Ten, do we reveal the force of bestowal?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Women MAK 113): (31:22) When we yearn for justice, by that we overcome the evil within us, and when it turns to good, we feel joy? And in such a way, we advance gradually to justice, love, and good?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Latin 12): (32:01) Teacher, when I declare myself to be an evil man, then the justice works on me. In essence, is that love? Is that work called love?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: In the work of justice upon me, so to say.

M. Laitman: Ultimately, we reach love.

Question (Kyiv): (32:42) This system that we talked about, that upon it I can influence. Can I only influence upon it from the state of Lishma, or can I do it also from the state of Lo Lishma?

M. Laitman: From the state of Lishma or Lo Lishma? I think that from the state of Lishma, we need to first reach it, and afterward to see how from there we reach a demand for justice.

Student: What does it mean to demand justice?

M. Laitman: That you want the judgment of justice to be on you.

Student: What does it mean justice towards me or in relation to me?

M. Laitman: That you receive what you need justly, good, good, bad, or bad.

Student: What do I ask the Creator upon me that nevertheless, He will give me whatever He thinks is correct?

M. Laitman: No, the agreement and the request is one thing, and receiving it is another.

Question (Women Turkiye 7): (34:13) How can I properly feel the omnipresence of the Creator in my present state?

M. Laitman: These are exercises that you need to do in order to feel Him in every place, in every state. The moment that you think about Him, and connect to Him, these are exercises that you need to do.

Question (Women MAK 56): (35:06) How to measure the justice? If we are always in the ego, it always seems to us like we are correct.

M. Laitman: We don't have a way to measure justice. We just need to always aspire to justice, as if not to think about oneself.

Question (Women MAK 51): (35:48) The desire to receive the spiritual pleasure from the Creator shining His light through us to a different person. Is that not for her sake, or Lo Lishma, or is it a shell?

M. Laitman: Not this or that. It doesn't mean anything.

Question (Hadera 1): (36:18) Is it possible to say that pursuing justice is a means to discover the lie in me and come closer to the truth?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: That means it's a device that we need to use in order to reveal more lies in us and to come closer to the truth.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Women Eng 1): (36:51) When I see all the injustice, I get very angry. I don't usually make any demands on the Creator. Is my anger actually a demand from the Creator?

M. Laitman: From the Creator? I can't say. This you need to check, to pray, to understand where it's from, why, and for what.

Question (Women Piter): (37:55) Justice is to know how to be above all the states, and to look at them in an objective way. And you cannot do it until we are in not for her sake, Lo Lishma?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Women Ukraine 2): (38:21) You said now to another student that we need to pursue or ask for justice. Mercy isn't above justice? Can it not bring the correction to the whole world?

M. Laitman: You could say so.

Student: Why to ask for justice and not for mercy?

M. Laitman: Justice equalizes everyone. But mercy talks about how you have certain sentiments towards something or someone.

Question (Women MAK 26): (39:10) The justice or the truth is not always pleasant, especially for myself. So, how to yearn for it? How to love it? Through all these emotions that swallow you. When you open the truth about yourself, it's not very pleasant. It's very hard then to yearn and to love and to fight myself, and if I want to run, then how not to run? How to specifically open that? How to go through that phase?

M. Laitman: How to pass through that? To accept that the closeness to the Creator is more important than your current feeling of the state.

Student: Simply when the evil opens up within me, there is a feeling that you are not worthy of anything.

M. Laitman: What of it? And what are you worthy of? Nothing.

Student: Simply the hands become limp, the deficiency disappears, the desire disappears. The Creator opens this truth, and I cannot. I understand that I look at it in a very small measure, and I can't look at it because then I'm completely unable to speak, and simply unable to do anything.

M. Laitman: So what? You can't. Just ask the Creator.

Student: Ask for Him to correct? When He corrects, then it opens up more for me.

M. Laitman: Why are you guarding yourself? Are you thinking about yourself, or are you thinking about how to come closer to the Creator?

Student: At that moment, simply everything disappears, and it is as if I'm being eaten alive by this feeling of discomfort towards myself.

M. Laitman: I'm very happy to hear all of this. Happy to hear about it all. Yes, we will all correct you.

Question (Women Kavkaz 1): (42:26) I understood that mercy helps to reach justice, the same way that mercy helps to reach Hochma, wisdom. So, how to come to the correct state between these two things?

M. Laitman: Maybe you need to relax a little bit, and not be so categorically extreme. Otherwise, you won't advance further. So, try to become a little bit softer.

Question (Tbilisi): (43:28) There is a feeling that each answer you give the friends is bestowal upon the Creator, and it gives us so much greatness of you in front of the Creator. How to adhere to you in such a way that we will never be disconnected from you. You also touch on such topics in the morning lesson, so it gives a desire to never disconnect from you, to adhere, and to stay forever.

M. Laitman: For that, you just need to think about that, if you want to be adhered to the Creator, then for that you need to feel yourself more and more, lighter and lighter, and then you won't fall off Him.

Student: We adhere to the Creator, we adhere through the friends, but also through the Rav.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Women MAK 86): (44:43) After the answer you gave to another student, I've got a question. To be happy about a state where I feel myself as a zero, as a nothing. Is that a good state? Can I continue it?

M. Laitman: As much as you're capable. That student, maybe she's crying bitterly right now, could be, so you shouldn't envy her.

Student: I cried, and even before the lesson, and during the lesson, but when that student said that you have to be joyous, you said that you have to be joyous, then my state has changed. So how not to develop without being connected to you? It doesn't turn out to me.

M. Laitman: It can happen a few more times, a few more such transitions from one state to the other, and everything will work out for you as well.

Question (Women MAK 88): (4:03) What is the difference between truth and justice?

M. Laitman: These are different spiritual categories. Justice, it's what we weigh one relative to the other. Whereas truth, we don't weigh out, but we understand that it itself is the truth.

Student: If in the group there are some disagreements, who brings the justice? Who can balance justice? How do you find justice?

M. Laitman: Just to yourselves and with the Creator.

Question (Women Kyiv 7): (47:16) There were questions in regard to annulment, self-annulment. Is there a difference between self-annulment and annulling myself towards the Creator or opening myself towards the Creator?

M. Laitman: These are different things. Canceling oneself towards the Creator means that you completely remove yourself. It's similar to you making yourself a straw through which everything passes from one place to another. And you are just the walls of the straw.

Student: It seems to me that opening myself is also this copying of this conduit and not a seal. It seems to me that when you cancel yourself, annul yourself, it's a lower state. It’s a state that comes out of fear, and an opening is more out of love. Or am I wrong?

M. Laitman: These are very complex states. We're still going to go through them. You can't even depict them now.

Question (Women ITA): (49:00) To pursue justice is to move permanently into the heart and abandon the mind and to do it only for practical matters?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Woman Polish): (49:46)  It is known that each one has his own truth, thanks to the ego. So how to determine the correct truth, the real truth?

M. Laitman: First, we need to feel the true ego, and from that to feel the true truth.

Question (Women Piter): (50:11) You said that we need to be like air in order to adhere to the Creator, besides the fact that we need to be in annulment and free of the will to receive, as much as possible. What does it mean?

M. Laitman: I don't know what to tell you. Ask again.

Student: The friends from Tbilisi asked how to adhere to you as much as possible and to the Creator, and you answered that we need to be light, like air almost. Does that mean we have to be in complete annulment and free as much as possible from the will to receive? So what else is included in this term?

M. Laitman: It's enough. And maybe afterward the Creator will set some more delicate conditions, but what's important for us is to do it now.

Question (Women Eng 1): (51:28) I would like to pursue it just a bit. I was at the morning lesson and maybe that's where my anger is coming from. Why can't I be angry at the Creator for not being able to be your student for twenty years?

M. Laitman: You can. Who told you that you can't? You didn't understand it correctly.

Student: Oh, that would be great. That would fill me with joy.

Question (Eng 1): (52:34)  When Rav Yitzchak was asking you to go and ask the Creator. What did you do? How did you do it?

M. Laitman: I understood that I need, each time when I don't agree a hundred percent with the Creator, to ask.

Question (Women MAK 70): (53:14) In the world Kli, there was a question from a friend. He said that we need to pass through a conduit all the light that we receive. What kind of a sign, a symbol, does this light leave in me when it goes through me as a conduit?

M. Laitman: A sign of fulfillment, joy, and connection.

Question (Women MAK 70): (53:53) If there are no such feelings, if there are only the opposite feelings, does that mean that my conduit is not working and something is stopping the light from coming through?

M. Laitman: Partially.

Question (Women Hebrew 13): (54:15) We would really like to do Ramchal duty to pray every hour to raise our deficiencies upwards in order to draw the light that reforms to correct us. But we are not experienced in it. We wanted to ask whether we should continue with it. Ask you what you think about it.

M. Laitman: Yes, yes, do it. And I really am blessing you in that.

Question (Women Beer Sheva 2) (55:06) We are, according to the source, pursuing justice and do want to come to Lishma. At the moment, the state in Israel is not simple. The people started demonstrating again. And each time that happens, Israel receives a blow. We want Israel to be corrected to help the whole world. What do you recommend to us to do in order to help or to add in order for the state to become corrected?

M. Laitman: I'm not entering into politics and into all of these things. We just need to see what the capitalists recommend for us, just to be more connected to each other and to turn to the Creator with this request of unity, connection, and success.

Question (Women MAK 97): (56:19) The inheritance of the land, does that mean to inherit the desire that the Creator has?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: Is that the truth? Is that what we have to bestow?

M. Laitman: Of course.

Question (Women Latin): (57:17) When the Creator tells Moses, now you should see what I'll do with Pharaoh, there we see divine justice, but in relation to us, the Creator awakens more evil. What was the goal in that?

M. Laitman: The goal was to bring them to the right decisions. The right decisions.

Question (Women Almaty): (58:01) We relate ourselves to these bodies, and you as our teacher in corporal reality. Therefore, we are all seeking for a change in this perception. What's wrong after the morning lesson? How should we change the perception?

M. Laitman: You need to be connected with each other in that way to decide where you're going to be until the evening.

Question (Women Turkiye 7): (58:43) You said that even though I did not agree with the Creator, I have to ask the Creator. The question is, what does asking the Creator help us with?

M. Laitman: Everything, everything. Through the request, we can attain everything.

Question (German): (59:13) What does the lack of justice in the Ten?

M. Laitman: Injustice in the Ten wants to clarify what is the justice in a certain state that it's going through and demands from the Creator to explain and invite it.

Student: What actions require injustice in the Ten?

M. Laitman: Only connection. In every state, we need the connection and prayer to the Creator.

I wish you all the best. I'm hugging you very tightly. Everyone.
