*Baal HaSulam. "Study of the Ten Sefirot" (TES). Part 1*

45. R. () Friends, I would like to turn to Dudi and Acoca, in PT 6 a survey from the worldwide BB of what we should study in TES and I would like to hear the results.

S. Hello everyone, first of all to say the meeting we did is not what we did yesterday, yesterday we checked opposite all of the languages to see what parts of TES are translated because the complaints from you yesterday and the lesson was that friends don't have the text when we study Part 8 so when we checked with Russian and English and Spanish, in Russian and English there is the first part all the way to part 7 that is translated and the other parts we have only segments that are translated we can't study them in full. Also in Spanish there is only in our observation translated from the friends who have taken it upon themselves to translate the other parts so we thought it would be smart to start with a part that everyone has so that people can see the text in front of them. In the past when we did surveys about which part of TES to study we ask men and women from the whole world Kli always without exception part one was always the choice that people preferred and that is why this is the part that we are going to study, of course everything can be changed. Most important is the intention that we have during the study.

R. That too is also so should we start with .... one? I'm going to start from any part that you want and we have support in terms of translation and preparation.

S. The other thing that was heard from you is that the part that you prefer is actually Part 16 that you keep talking about, that this is a good part. So, they ask why not to study that even more from the heads of languages we understood that in TES, necessary to take into account whether we have translated text or not because it's based upon intentions.

R. But if a person doesn't hear in his language what we're studying that's not good unless the intention needs to be on top of the study they will be great people even without knowing the language they can still try with their great desire to be connected to everyone however.... so what is it that you want to study?

S. As of now what we have ready in the system of translations is Part 1 but of course we're flexible and we can move to other parts.

46. R. Chapter one explains the Tzimtzum Aleph the first restriction when the light of Ein Sof became restricted to emanate the Ne’etzalim and create the created beings and it contains 5 matters.   I'm starting already with the words ARI Before the restriction the light of Ein sof filled the entire reality, so know that before the emanated being and before they created being were created, there was an upper simple Light that filled all of reality and there was no vacant space such as an empty Avir, air, or Halal, space, rather everything was filled with that simple boundless light. Did not have a discernment of Rosh, head or Sof, end but it was all one simple light completely even called light of Ein Sof. Whatever you want to ask about this place but not what we are studying right now without taking any steps outside of it, go ahead and ask there is no problem with that. Ohr P’nmi, the entire wisdom of Kabbalah is based on spiritual matters that do not take up time and space where they are not subject to change or absence and all the changes that are spoken of in this wisdom do not imply that the first form becomes absent and is replaced by a different form but rather the above change implies an additional form that is that it is not what was there has disappeared, nothing disappears in spirituality, and in general nothing disappears but rather an additional cover is added to it, another form and another form, as it is yesterday and tomorrow and a day afterward there is addition. The first form does not move from its place since absence and change are corporeal conducts. This is difficult for the novice, for beginners since they receive matters by means of corporeal boundaries

*Reader “ because the perceived matters in their corporeal sense...”(8:13 - 8:54)*

*Reader Ohr Pnimi again “ remember the whole  wisdom of Kabbalah...”(9:04 - 10:28)*

47. R. I hope that the questions are proper and not just like that because you can ask all the way from here to about the entire wisdom it needs to be about what is written here.

48. S. (11:04) Still there is room for clarifying the terms and memorizing them?

R. We will  study them along the way.

49. S. (11:24) What does he refer to when he says beyond the first form?

R. The first form is the will to receive that is revealed and it starts to take upon itself all kinds of changes.

50. S. (11:53) Baal HaSulam writes that the first state does not disappear and takes on a different form? What is the addition of the different form?

R. Screens changes in the will to bestow that the will to receive takes upon itself.

51. S. (12:23) What is the difference between the created beings and?

R. Degrees of the will to receive.

52. S. (12:40) How to hold onto the fact that it is about exactly changing that one state and not to perceive it as something new?

R. We understand that all of the changes are in the quality of the will to receive and nothing besides that, nothing else happened so the will to receive changes and its quality meaning in its intention either in order to receive or in order to bestow and to what extent, but it remains as it is, it only changes according to its usage in quantity and character but it is the will to receive that is the same will to receive as the Creator created it. This is what we need to be aimed to all of the time, we're only talking about the will to receive this is the entire matter of creation. What changes is undergoing through our work by us drawing upon it the reforming light.

53. S. (14:05) You explain to us that there is an addition of forms all of the time is there an active form or are the forms are all active at once?

R. I don't know, he doesn't talk about that, you asked for no reason.

54. S. (14:28) What is the simple form and the simple bestowal?

R. We will scrutinize this, a simple form means the simple upper light, a simple will to receive that it hasn't still taken upon itself any changes.

55. S. (14:51) This edition of form that he writes about, where is it felt if it is simple abstract like?

R. An additional form means a change in the intention in order to bestow.

56. S. (15:08)  He says that the difficulty for a novice in perceived matters by means of corporeal means of time, change and space, how can I receive this better if I don't understand what he is saying?

R. Try to remember all of the changes are in the quality of the desire, how much does he change  in the direction of bestowal.

57. S. (15:41) What he writes here that this state exists now what is the connection between us and the unchanging state?

R. He doesn't write about that so that's not a question.

58. S. (16:03) What does it mean that all of the space is filled with light?

R. I don't know where it is written here, what he is asking about?

S. He says the light is in one quality at the end of Part 1

R. So what is the question how can that be that the entire space is the entire will to receive that the Creator created and to begin with the way that he created it and filled it with the entire light of Ein Sof, this is the state of Malchut of Ein Sof being filled with light before it feels shame before it makes a restriction this is the way it is.

59. S. (17:13) Where do I describe all that if there's no time and space, where do I see what is written here?

R. In your imagination where else, if it doesn't exist in corporeality, corporeality is what you have before you and you also depict it in your imagination that it exists, it is also called an imaginary world. However this is how you envision it, so these things you can't do anything about them, you can't have any portrayal of them, so for the time being this is how you should envision that instead of whatever you do, to depict actually this is what exists and all the rest is imaginary.

S. That's exactly opposite.

R. Yes.

60. S. (18:13) Know that the emanations were emanated and created beings were created and before that how can we imagine anything before that?

R. We don't know, but before is before, that the expansion of this state as we are now talking about it, a gradual expansion until it reaches the created beings and they are made and later on he writes about it, that we have the world's that emerge out of the world of Ein Sof, well soon we will get there.

61. S. (18:58) You said to imagine, in the imagination like the Kabbalists use the branches from this world can we take from this world ways to imagine the connection like let's say I want to imagine everyone connected so I think about water like how all the drops are connected and can't be divided, can we do it like that with our world?

R. I don't know what to tell you, try whatever you think, whatever the best is, not too tied to this world. But rather simply connected means connected and disconnected means disconnected this is how you should depict it.

S. So it's all one?

R. Yes, everything's one.

62. S. (19:55) As a new student how can I come the corporeal boundaries?

R. Simply go along with us and try once and again, try to think in a more abstract matter, it is not happening in our world rather it is happening between the physical forces, like away from a magnet, like a magnetic field, like fields. The closest thing to it is the field of the desire, the will to receive, the field of the will to bestow, the force that is in the air, that is how it is. Maybe out of that you will have fewer mistakes related to corporeality.

63. S. (20:53) The spiritual forms appear to the extent that we resemble them, how do we receive deficiency for the new forms?

R. Only through the connection between us do we get the deficiency for the spiritual forms.

64. S. (21:21) Because we are starting from the very beginning maybe we should give an explanation for new students about the word of the ARI above and then about the Ohr Pinimi which in each item is about specific words that Baal HaSulam interpreted.?

R. For the time being he doesn't speak about it, he's just giving us some introduction, an introduction once we continue, maybe what you are saying would be to the point.

S. It's just that there are questions about specific words from item one that we read from ARI then he clarifies it as part of the study.

R. Now we are studying item one so before they emanated beings were emanated and the created beings were created, we are waiting on the top, so this is what he said what does it mean before that there were no forms as yet, but only a will to receive that the Light was operating on. This is actually before the emanated beings were emanated and the Upper Light was filling up the whole of reality and soon we will come to that with a broad explanation. I accept all of your complaints and your claims but you should also take part more correctly, I cannot delay and stand over each and every word according to how each and every one of you think that it needs to be and I cannot serve each one of you, otherwise we will never leave the first page of the book. So please try to be a bit more creative.

65. S. (23:29) After the Tzimtzum Aleph what happens to the created being the will to receive...?

R. I don't know yet that they're our intentions in order to receive or in order to bestow, I don't know that there is a first restriction, I don't know any of that, this is why I don't understand why you take that from. We started a book that doesn't talk about that at all yet, if you will ask in such a way I will simply shut the book and that's it and we won't continue studying. You have to learn what we're studying right now.

66. S. (24:26) We want to ask about the meaning of replacing something with a different form, if the first form of the desire, doesn't change or doesn't diminish, what does it mean to replace something in spirituality with a different form?

R. Form of the desire changes, the form of the desire does change, there is nothing you can do about that, however the desire and itself does not change, it is a will to receive however it takes upon itself all kinds of forms, intentions. This is what we are talking about until the will to receive that remains as a will to receive, however the intention on top of it the way that it is used changes from in order to receive to in order to bestow and then it reaches from the opposite form of the Emanator to a form that is similar to the Emanator. This is all of the changes that are in the will to receive that was created.

67. S. (25:43) In the last line there of the Inner Light, it says that it is upon the readers to memorize the meaning of the words?

R. When we will study later than TES you have to remember many things but actually out of studying you will remember those, you will understand them, it will become revealed. Now for the time being you don't need any of this.

68. S. (26:28) What does it mean an additional form?

R. That there was a specific form of the will to receive and the will to receive basically is what is here and what is changing, so the will to receive has changed and instead of the previous will to receive there is a new will to receive formed. So first I wanted to have a cup of coffee, now I want to have a cup of tea, so now that means that there is a new form of the will to receive.

69. S. (27:16) He talks here about a very important foundation, a very important element in relation to the study that only the quality of the will to receive changes... now he says that this is difficult for beginners, novices and he puts the emphasis that a person needs to have a certain attitude, a way to relate to the states that he is going through and why is this discernment so important?

R. Because you have to grab a hold of yourself and say that I am a will to receive, a will, a desire, in my desire I feel the world, all of reality. Now I want in my will to receive to feel the true reality where I truly am and also an eternal reality, a reality of wholeness. I want to know exactly where I am, who I am and what is around me. All of that I want to know. Now how do I come to that? I am a part of this reality so the wisdom of Kabbalah tells you how to correctly perceive and feel the world that you are in, the reality that you are in. That's all.

S. He says here that the quality changes, only the quality, putting emphasis on it

R. The will to receive disappears and doesn't change in the sense that it is a will to receive it changes only in its quality. If it comes from in order to receive to in order to bestow so it becomes from opposite to reality from where it is, too similar to the reality that it is in. So then according to its similarity to reality it begins to sense reality and this is called discovering the upper world.

S. When a person who studies the wisdom of Kabbalah what changes in him is how he relates to his own will to receive, to his own nature the way that he perceives it?

R. His will to receive is changing and that he makes the Tzimtzum, Masach, Ohr Chozer and adapts it to in order to bestow and accordingly he feels a true reality, the environmental reality which is entirely the upper world. Meaning a desire in order to bestow and he is called the Creator.

S. Why is it so critical that he puts an emphasis on it here that it is a difficulty for the novice?

R. Because if you don't organize yourself with such an attitude to reality then you are not going to study correctly you are not going to discover everything you are not going to make changes of yourself. Your whole direction would be wrong.

70. S. (30:59) The ARI writes on the second page everything was filled with the simple boundless light, what are there multiple forms of light, what does simple light mean?

R. I don't know this is what he rides but he doesn't explain yet you will have to wait patiently

S. Okay because I did ask about what the text says.

R. Correct but there are many I can't answer this, there are many other terms here that I can't refer to because I would have to go through the entire book.

71. S. (31:49) How can one avoid ....on the previous form and keep up with a new form?

R. That is if he is in the correct group and he studies then he would go through all kinds of states and feel how much his ego wants to break everything and burn everything and ruin everything, he works impatiently. This is all good and true this is how it appears to us but gradually, bit by bit we feel that it all depends upon us and if we relate to it patiently meticulously, properly and we will be able to correct our nature. There is no other choice, we are under the rule of the upper force and this upper Force, how much it works it works. You can't do anything about this besides just adapting yourself to it. This is what we are able to do, you can't change the upper Force you can only change yourself in relation to the upper Force. So the upper Force changes towards you each time in order to invite you to develop and you are going to have to adapt yourself to it and this is how you evolve.

72. S. (33:59) The quality of the desire changes so what remains Eternal and what does not change?

R. The will to receive in the way that the Creator created it as it wasn't there in reality but the Creator created it it remains. Now what exists in eternity is only the Upper Light which is the Creator, the appearance of the Creator to us and that belongs to Eternity. We want to connect to the Upper Light with equivalence of form that is how it is possible and by that we achieve Eternal existence as well, just like the Upper Light. Because he who is connected to one who is whole becomes whole.

73. S. (35:15)How do I relate properly to the perception of reality?

R. Bit by bit you will try to go with everyone else and then you will get it.

74. S. (35:41) Here's the way towards agreement is it through gratitude?

R. Gratitude is already after agreements.

S. After agreement or before?

R. Gratitude is after agreements, what do you mean how can you reach gratitude if you don't agree?

S. Out of lo Lishma  I'm in grateful on the way to Lishma ...?

R. That is on the way you have a whole bunch of other things to understand on the way there.

75. S. (36:26) I heard each time the effort force changes towards you and you have to adapt yourself to it so what does it mean the upper light is dividing me to develop and what are my actions of adapting myself?

R.The Upper Light awakens a deficiency in you in the current state and you have to identify what needs to be the change from feel that it is lacking and you have to arrange this deficiency to be exactly right fit for to match the upper Force in the meantime for now. Then ask from the Upper light for this force of change in you and correct yourself to be more suitable for the Upper light and advance this way and you will advance this way each time, you will feel towards the Upper Force some deficiencies and then you need to identify these deficiencies to make them in order to bestow, you need to ask the Upper Force to have the force of bestowal and arrange your desire with an intention to bestow to make such an action there by joining the upper force

76. S. (38:00) Is it possible that the quality of connection between us to also depict it as a force field?

R. Yes but that's not what we're talking about right now connection between us is a force field.

*Reader Ohr Pinimi Item 2 (38:22 - 39:23)*

*Reader Ohr Pinimi Item 3 (39:24 -  40:26)*

77. R. In potential

*Reader “the second rudiment is how they are arranged in cascade...”(40:30 -  41:25)*

78. R. This is called that it filled them in the form of EIn Sof meaning all of the desires filled with everything that they want and this state is called Ein Sof, meaning no limit to the fulfillment, all of the desires as much as they want they receive fulfillment of this is called the world of infinity. This is what Rabash  I would say that if I have a cup and it is completely full, this is called Ein Sof, it doesn't matter the amount, big or small this is a quality, how much this place has no deficiency in its fulfillment. So we have completed the first page here from TES  and we can keep going and we will if you want if we will go through one page everyday then within a few years we will finish TES. There are about 2,000 Pages more or less so divide that into 360 days it's not that bad. Six or seven years that's fine,  That's how we can learn and maybe we can do more.

79. S. (42:07) Why each time we read this item suddenly I feel that they are dropping water on my soul, there is so much emotion and love in this item?

R. He doesn't touch specific discernments yet he talks about it in general and that's why you feel that way.

S. Each time it feels that after the darkness of 2,000 years but the ari  came and he wrote it and it cascaded and reached all the way to you and you are translating to us and teaching us this it is like a miracle.

R. It truly is a miracle that we received this from above that the holy ARI came and through Baal HaSulam he explains to us the beginning of creation.

S. The question is if so if this is how we feel after the ten connects and we feel a single connection is this what we feel and how we feel this letter?

R. No you feel much more, a lot more, the fact that we connect in through the connection between us we feel, then we feel what he actually writes and maybe to a smaller degree of course, not like the ARI and Baal HaSulam,  but still you feel it

*Reader Item 1 “Know that before the Neetzalim...”(44:54 - 45:44)*

80. S.When you say that Ein Sof is filled with the complete light, what kind of desire, the will to receive or the will to bestow?

R. The light of Ein Sof means that it exists in a vessel that can receive it without any limitation, meaning the desire and the fulfillment are not intertwined and then the light fills the vessel all the way, they are not opposite to each other. The light fills the vessel as much as the vessel wants to discover it, if I first want to drink a cup of water and I do and now I am really satiated that means that I am in a state of Ein Sof with no boundary, because I have no more limitations I am completely filled. This state is called Ein Sof. This is how it is with each and every desire we can explain that, but now here we are talking about the state that is in creation which is that the whole will to receive created by the Creator was created and filled with the light of Ein Sof, the light with no boundary meaning feeling the desire is much as the desire once and when the desire is filled with this light as much as it wants it discovers that the desire is nevertheless different from the Light because the light wants to completely bestow and to fulfill, the desire wants to enjoy and to receive. So the will to receive that receives such a fulfillment now begins to feel not full, not completely filled as it was in the first place, but rather it has a deficiency that the fulfillment wants to give and it wants to receive the fulfillment and so they are opposite and that begins the whole of creation.

81. S. (48:45) He starts this item with “know,”  what does it mean you should know?

R. He says know that before the emanations were emanated, meaning know this is how it is, what are you going to receive we don't know, we are studying what he writes not your emotions. You make certain that your emotions are about being clinging to the author as much as possible.

82. S. (49:48) In the beginning he wrote about the spiritual matters that do not occupy space or time and then in Inner Light he says no vacant space remained in them what is the vacancy?

R. Desire, please means desire.

83. S. (50:12) What is it before the emanated beings were emanated?

R. Emanations, Creations, those that were made there are different names for it, and short it is everything that comes from the creators Force who wants to create something outside of himself. What he created outside of himself there different forms and names for this.

S. Are we the created beings?

R. You are not a created being, you are not considered existing because existing can be someone who has free, full, independence outside of the Creator, being outside of the Creator, you are not outside of the Creator. You are like some desire very small, very primitive but it exists under the complete rule of the Creator therefore you don't have a name of your own, you are not considered created being, a created being means one who can be as if outside the Creator, there is a Creator and the created being. You are not the created being, you only exist within the desire of the Creator if we can say you exist. Because everything that you do in the meantime is still according to everything according to what the Creator dictates to you and so how can you be called a created being? Meaning that you are different than opposite to him, you're not, what he thinks is what you think, what he does to you is what you do, so you have no free choice, you are not free and therefore you are not a created being.

S. Can there be a state where one day we will be called a created being?

R. That is what we need to achieve if we wish to be like the Creator, then at least to a certain minimal extent you will be called a created being. Only to the extent of the quality of bestowal that you will acquire will you be considered a created being because the force of the will to receive that you are going to have and that you will discover that is not the created being, meaning it is not an independent creation. This is created by the Creator, what you will do over your will to receive, turning it into something independent like the Creator, that parts will be called the created being. In the meantime you don't exist.

84. S. (53:55) There was a point because we're talking about the fact that seemingly we need translated text in order to study so some friends are saying that simultaneous translation is sufficient during the study and it's not really necessary to have the text so I wanted to ask in terms of the approach to the study does the friend have to have the text in front of him or is enough for him to listen to the simultaneous translation?

R. Look if he wants to go back to what he learned before to read it on his own with the friends, then he needs text in front of him, and Hebrew it's there and also in his language it is there let's say the Turkish group wants to study it during the day, he can't, they need text both of them, to listen to Hebrew and Turkish and in every language needs to make certain that it has that. I don't think that it's a problem as we are gradually moving forward, advancing slowly, a page or page and a half per day it's not a problem that they will prepare the translations in that kind of order and if we will actually complete all of the study of TES then by that time we will have it in all languages.

S. In Spanish they're doing it on a daily basis they are translating it so we will have it, with that same approach if we will study let's say some other part and we don't read many letters each day, so here also it would be possible to study certain parts and here they would be translation of that part that we would study.

R. It doesn't matter to me where it is, translation yes or no, what language, I just recommend that you will go the same pace as with us and so as we advance in studying TES, you will prepare it day after day and put it in the archive and everywhere else. We will prepare this and it will be a blessing for all of humanity. Even though we attain what we study, only through connection between us and by carrying out the condition of love your friend as yourself, that is it. Let us hope that we will come to that and then discover what is written in the book.

85. S. (57:38) Is it possible to read please item 156 in the introduction to TES, if it is possible I think it is suitable.

R. That will be a lot, we're not going to be able to do that now but let it say in the afternoon, remember and remind us.
