Table of Answers for Topics, item 97

Reader: We will study from a TES, lesson with Rabash. We're going to be in part four, volume one of Rabash. We are in the answers to the topics. Answer 97. We're starting with the words. “The fourth is the striking of the record with a descending reflected light.”

RABASH (Source Text/Commentary): (00:04) The fourth is the striking of the record with a descending reflected light. From it, the vessels of the second expansion. We learned this before. It's called…Five. Five is a little difficult. If we learned, phase three surrounds in phase four, meaning in the vessel of Malchut. We say Malchut does not leave a record, meaning the record of the coarseness did not stay, but the record of the refined light was in it. Which light was in it now? The light of phase three, the record that she had. In the refined, it doesn't want to receive the light of phase three. The difference between four, we're asking about four. He says that we learned that all the Sefirot have records, Malchut has no record, so I know which striking was up to Malchut, reflected light descending with the Reshimot, with the record. But Malchut has no record, so who is she? So he says, instead of the record, there was a light of Malchut there. What is the light of Malchut? In each degree, there is the record of clothing, record of coarseness, record of clothing, probably. And here, only a record of clothing. So, that's what we need to interpret.

So, what is the light of Malchut? Then he says, Malchut has no record. The striking is done with her light, which is refined light from the record. This remained, the light remained. What is the question? He cannot draw, meaning the last phase is lost, so he cannot draw. Again. If we say Malchut does not leave a record, which Malchut does it mean? Meaning first, Partzuf Ta’amim had Malchut drawing the light of phase four, meaning they had a screen of phase four. Now I'm saying, where was there a clash of inner and surrounding on phase four? That four grew weaker. This is why it's as if we say that he rises up in the Rosh to ask for a screen of coarseness. So he says, that light, the force that he had, the power that he had before, I don't have it anymore. So what? Give me a smaller degree so I can overcome. So, which force does he ask for? For a smaller phase. Malchut of the taste that drew the light, on which phase did she draw? On phase four.

Student: Phase four.

RABASH: Yes. We say this four is lost. On which degree will there be a second Partzuf? From three. In other words, three in four engendered the real three, in other words, in Partzuf AB. If I say the Partzuf of Ta'amim, tastes, had three, so let's say Malchut of phase three is lost. And there's only phase two. I speak of Partzuf SAG, in Partzuf of the Ta'amim of SAG, called four. What does it have? Two. The two is lost. What is it engender? One.

RABASH (Source Text/Commentary): (03:46) Ninety-eight. How do the records relate to the second Partzuf? We say that we have records left. What is the benefit of the record of the second Partzuf here? Ninety-eight. They relate as a father to his children. A single spark is extended from the father to the child, never to move from there. Similarly, the self of the records passes to the second Partzuf, considered the son of the first Partzuf. First. And they, those records, become a part of its makeup in the self of the Partzuf. Again. Ninety-eight. The question was—ninety-eight. How do the records relate to the second Partzuf? What is he asking? We learn the light departs from the vessel. A record remains of the light that was in the vessel. For whom? For the record itself. Suddenly, he says something new. What is he saying? That The ARI says that the records moved to a second Partzuf. How do we say records for a second Partzuf? We learned that the screen that rises from degree to degree until it rises to the Rosh, to the head, contains all the records. So we should distinguish the records that remained in the vessels or that remained of the lights that remained in the screen. The records remained in the vessels for the vessels themselves, whereas the records that rose from the screen, on those records, all of the second Partzuf was built. So, let's look inside.

RABASH (Source Text/Commentary): (06:22) They relate as a father to his children. The single spark is extended from the father to the child, never to move from there. Similarly, the self of the records passes to the second Partzuf, considered the son of the first Partzuf. One time it's called the father, another time it's called the son, and they, the records, become a part of its makeup and the self of the Partzuf, because the whole Partzuf was built only on records of the previous Partzuf, which are included in the screen that went up.

RABASH (Source Text/Commentary): (07:07) So, we have to start item 99. What is the question in 99? Why are the records regarded as direct light? What is the answer? Since they are the remains of the expansion of direct light from above downward. He says here, Malchut does not leave a record. Why? Because it didn't have direct light. Why is the record called a part of the direct light? That's the question. So he explains, the record means that which remained of a direct light. This is what he calls records. So naturally, question 100 is, why the last phase, Malchut, does not leave a record? Because these records, we said, which what The ARI calls records, meaning from the direct light that was departed, as The ARI says here, in the last phase does not receive any direct light because on her own phase, called receiving in order to receive, there was a restriction. As it says, because of the screen on her. This is why Malchut does not leave a record, since she didn't have direct light. You're asking me, what does it mean that the last phase is lost? She had it and lost it. If I say that it didn't have it, what does it mean that it's lost? She never had it, except, so what is the last phase is lost? Malchut, that was using his screen, that's the last phase, when Malchut uses, that Malchut uses. This, she lost, meaning that she can no longer grow stronger or prevail from the last phase. First of all, what is the last phase? We should know this. We learn that the last phase is called up to here. Further, the light cannot go. That's called the last phase. In Partzuf Galgalta, the last phase is called, it was four. She didn't go further. In Partzuf AB, the last phase was up to three. She didn't go further. In Partzuf AB, the last phase is to two and not more. In other words, the last phase that had a screen on it until here, she could receive in order to bestow, that phase she loses. This is why we say, you're saying he has a different last phase. And if he does that, when The ARI speaks of a record, he means direct light. This is why it turns out that since Malchut had no direct light, with the shining for her, in everything, everything has a certain definition.

RABASH (Source Text/Commentary): (11:19) Question 101. How do the records become tags? He says, the records that remained from direct light, became Tagin. 101. As a result of the striking and beating of the descending reflected light on the record, as a result of the striking and beating of the descending reflected light from the upper degree on the record that remains empty of light because of their oppositeness, which is phase four remaining in a higher degree from phase three. But there is above, and the light that comes is a new, is a light that is from the coupling, and the light that already departed from it, hence we learn that the descending reflected light overpowers the record, and enters the vessel. Both of them cannot be in a single vessel, as there are no two opposites in a single carrier. Hence, the record must exit there from the vessel, kind of, and it rises above the vessel, and shines a minute, a minute illumination to the vessel as tags, as Tagin, upon the Otiot, upon the letters. What here is the question, what is the answer? The ARI says that the record is the tags upon the letters, the Tagin and the Otiot. What is he trying to imply where he says records in the manner of Tagin and Otiot, tags and letters? So, he says that after the clash between the descending reflected light which comes from the illumination of the coupling, and the record that remained after the departure of the light, and the striking is considered that there are two opposites. What are two opposites? Let's say this is phase four and that's phase three. Hence, we learn how they can be together. And who will overcome and say, the next light that comes on you is the light that comes from a more important coupling than the record that remained in the previous degree. And because both cannot be together, not this nor that, therefore, it is considered that the record of phase four emerges outwards upon the letters, upon the Otiot, on the vessel. And it is used with phase three. And what's the benefit of the record that he says tags upon the letters? So, he says that it receives a diminished or minute illumination, mostly as he relates to phase three and the descending reflected light, but in the manner of tags that receive minute illumination. That's what he says.

RABASH (Source Text/Commentary): (15:31) Question 102. What does the record of Keter remain in? What's the question? What does the record of Keter remain in? He gives an answer. The record of Keter remains in the vessel of Keter, meaning, in the coarse light that remains below and cannot rise along with the light of Keter, as The ARI wrote, when he says that Keter did not make a vessel. It is for the purpose of the second expansion. What's the question and what's the answer? The question is, we learned that there is the record of Keter. Keter left a record. The question is asked, in what did it leave this record? What's the question, in what? If we say that Keter does not make a Kli, it turns out that Keter does not have a vessel, and we learned that the records that remained in the vessels. So the question is asked, in what does it remain in? inside the.. in 102…look, what does the record of Keter remain in? If we're saying that Keter did not make a vessel, and records remain in vessels, then if so, in what does the vessel of Keter remain in? The record of Keter. Answer. The record of Keter remains in the vessel of Keter. What is the Kli of Keter? Meaning, in the coarse light, the reflected light that remains below that cannot rise along with the light of Keter. When he says that Keter did not make a vessel, it is for the purpose of the second expansion, he doesn't make a vessel. He doesn't make a vessel for Partzuf AB, but in its own phase, it does make a vessel, its own vessel that its record is clothed in. So, he asks, we learned the descending reflected light of phase three enters phase four. We could say that the vessel of Keter, that in the vessel of Keter, the Nekudot, or the dots of Hochma fell into. They say that there is a preparation in the vessel of Malchut, where previously, previous to the level of Keter, it now has the light of Hochma, that will come into the light of Hochma in the vessel of Keter. And then we find a place. And then we learned that the phase three also went through refinement. And Malchut made a coupling upon phase two. So, only the record of phase three remained. So, they say that phase four, the record that was in the manner of tags enters the record in internality, and it emerges outwards. If so, the vessel that was there before needed to be cancelled. Whereas here, when it was not cancelled, but therefore it remained. So, now it is itself that departed. So, he chooses more, his record. But when we learn about the second Partzuf, and what it means, where the light of Hochma itself comes. So again, the Nekudot are awakened from the descending reflected light that remains in each and every vessel. And they awaken again. Why? Now they have light, not a record.

RABASH (Source Text/Commentary): (20:18) 103. What are the 12 kinds of records in Akudim? There are in Akudim 12 kinds of records. What are they? 103. The first are records that remain from the clothing. The second are records from the extension. Clothing is called the light that remains. The extension is called screen and coarseness. What is screen and coarseness? Two things. A screen that dwells upon the coarseness that it receives. Meaning, on one hand it receives, on the other hand it performs a limitation. Whereas in restriction, it does not use any coarseness. Next. The third are records clothed in their vessels. We should discern records that remain in the vessels. And the fourth are records not clothed in their vessels but hover over the vessels as tags. What is this? When there is a striking from the descending reflected light with the record. The fifth are records that return to their vessels after having departed from there. When was this? During the refinement of phase three, for example. So, when there is only the record from phase three, then the record of phase four returns in internality. The sixth are records that consist of coarse light and refined light without any distinction that tells them apart. The ARI says, in the general direct light, which is clothed in the general reflected light, meaning in the Partzuf Galgalta, there is no distinguishment between the direct light and reflected light for it to be called light and Kli, but rather, they are both considered light. But rather, after the direct light departed, the reflected light remained below, then the reflected light receives the name Kli, vessel. We also learn with the records that a part of the direct light remains, and a part of the reflected light remains. Both together are called record, Reshimo, and are called the refined light in the record, which is a part of the direct light. The coarse light in the record is a part of the reflected light, and both are one phase, there’s no difference between them. This is where he says here, seven, six are records that consist of coarse light and refined light without any distinction that tells them apart, like the general direct light that is clothed in the general reflected light. The seventh are records from the refined light only, from which the males of the second expansion were made.
