Lesson One
Rav’s Introduction: I am very happy that we have this privilege and I’m wishing everybody success in that because our success depends on how much we will be able to connect according to the intensity and the amount, the quantity and the quality are very important here. We have what we call mighty in quantity and mighty in quality but we want to truly be those who succeed in both of them. Then accordingly we will discover the spiritual reality in our tens, in the general Kli (vessel) and in this way we will advance. The most important, as we learned yesterday also, the main difficulty is in the first entry to spirituality, the first degree. However, we are ready for it. The whole world who is advancing to the qualities, the attributes, of the last generation is also helping us. He does not show as anything that might confuse us so much, but rather when we look at it, it is clear to us that the way can be only to open up for ourselves that degree which is managing us and that we are truly yearning to reach it.
Again, I wish all of us success that we will become that special group, the first one, that is entering the upper world, the spiritual world, from the whole of humanity and following it, is opening the trail, the way to the whole of humanity for toward the purpose of creation so that humanity will finally see also that it exists not just like that, from one day to the next, but in order to reach eternity and wholeness. All of this we now would like to embrace in our congress, to start with that. Everything depends on the degree of connection, the intensity of connection between us, and I hope very much that we will feel how much in that we’re getting help from above, all the forces of nature and how much we truly through the connection between us, between the friends, we are being drawn to this it.
So let us read a few excerpts, from what the friends have prepared for us, as a preparation for the congress and then we will go to the materials of the congress. The most important for us is the connection, we are not studying, we are studying practical connection between us. Therefore, if you think that it is worthwhile to have a discussion or a workshop, then I am ready. In the middle, I’ll be happy to give it room and time, trying between you and in turning to us, or somehow yourselves, to manage the flow of the convention. So, if you feel that now is the time for a workshop or time for a discussion, go ahead, I will go along with you, I will follow you. That inclination to connect the hearts, we’re inside of them, we will then discover the upper world, the upper force. Let us begin, good luck.

2. R. (06:17) This is actually our direction to rise from the degree of the beast, the animate degree, which is the still, vegetative and the animate. This is still our world, this is how we discover with all of our physical senses and to approach, to rise actually, this is the most difficult ascent to enter the feeling of the upper world in which we already start to feel the upper system, the force that is operating there, the creator and us being there. Then we will have goals and connections, and passions and understanding, and everything will be new. It will all be according to the forces of bestowal instead of the forces of reception. Therefore, the transition from this world to the spiritual world is so difficult, but we will cross it. We will cross it together, we will try to do it quickly.

3. R. (08:28) Yes, that the Creator will dwell among us. Therefore, these two points must be there, on one hand subjugation, on the other hand pride. Points that seem to contradict one another, however they do not contradict. Pride in that I am connected to the one, unique, and unified force, that there is none else besides Him and He is operating in the whole of reality, in the whole of reality that it is possible in general. On the other hand, I’m connected to it because I restrict as much as possible and even more my own nature, the will to receive, my beastliness. Therefore, I can belong to that upper force. We have two opposite things here that are always, from the moment we start to path and onward, they exist in this way in any created being who is advancing.

4. R. (10:45) Yes, that everything depends on the connection between us and the greater and more powerful the connection is, accordingly they discover the force of unity between them. It is called the Creator ‘’Boreh,’’ from the two words ‘’Bo’’ and ‘’Reh’’ (come and see), that we come, we build Him. And what we do, is what we see, that actually there is no Creator without the created beings but rather the created being builds for itself, from the forces of separation between the created beings, above them the force of unity, in that force of unity that establishes above the individual egos in the creative beings so he discovers in that force of unity, he discovers the Creator. This is why the Creator is what the created being makes, he makes the Creator, and accordingly he also discovers as much as he changes in order to discover the Creator and what is the result of his efforts. If you have any questions, write them down and later on ask. Soon we will finish these excerpts and then you will ask all of your questions.

We ultimately have to reach through the connection with everybody that I have the power that desire of the entire society and this is how it should be with each and everybody, and then we incorporate together and this is called the vessel of Adam HaRishon which we put together back from the breaking.

8. R. This means through the group that you have you can connect with them and collect all those flaccid organs that dropped from your soul and join them into a single body. This is all of our work and in that whatever is in your power to do, you have to do, just connect because in the connection you attain the higher world.

9. R. This means that connection is only through concessions. When we give up on our own ego we cancel it, we nullify it, we are willing to connect with others only because they also have the same inclination to unity to the single goal. Then we do not take into account any differences between us. If we have that single goal because love covers all crimes. All the other differences we cover them with love. We do not raise them but with love we cover them and the most important is that we have a single goal.

10. R. This is the greatest problem in the wisdom that we need to rise above the force of the selfish ego and start connecting with others above it and it takes many years until it becomes established in us and to some extent, we agree to do this fully. Only the importance of the goal can bend us towards connection as much as we explain to each other, we influence each other, we ask for force from above. Only the upper light can bring us the ability this capability to get closer and little bit to each other and to start to accept the others not physically that I look at their faces or their language and all of their habits or customs but I only see the point in the heart in them with which I must connect and with a few others and a few others and others like that. Then even as it says the minimum of many is at least two and the more and the more they gather certainly there is a possibility to discover the Creator with a greater ease, with greater efficiency, with greater speed it all follows the rule in the multitude of people is the King's Glory. So, let's hope that we can reach that we are actually the first ones who want through these boundaries between the physical world and the spiritual world for the whole of mankind, as it says they shall all know me from the least of them to the greatest of them. Now we can answer a few questions and later we will have a workshop.
11. S. (21:58) Why is the first entry to spirituality the most difficult?
R. Because you are jumping from one nature to another nature and you are not yet familiar with that. We all exist in the nature of the desire to receive in order to receive and now you have to shift to in order to bestow to some extent. To nullify yourself, to start connecting with others at least a little bit on the very first degree. Therefore, Baal HaSulam writes that the entry to the first degree is the most difficult and there is nothing we can do about it. We truly need to make a huge effort here in order to enter Ibur, the impregnation, the entrance to this state is a very difficult problem getting pregnant even in medicine even on the physical level we do not quite understand all the details what happens in the process in the physical. It is difficult. Nature here places some conditions and there are many problems to enter into the first degree because by this you replace your life, your thoughts, you begin to look at the world in a completely new way; how it behaves, how it is managed it is truly something that is revolutionary.
12. S. (24:03) When it is written that coming out of this blessed field that the Lord has blessed, how can we practically do that in the ten?
R. This is what we try to talk about through the connection between us until we are more and more and more want to erase the partitions between us, and it doesn't matter what each think, what he wants and how he is built or made, this does not matter. We want only one thing; to connect all of us into a single goal. This is what we have between us so we do not have to change the nature of anyone; it is the opposite. The more everybody is different, has his own nature let it be but along with that, we want to determine to ourselves a single goal to be aimed to that goal all of us and then in that goal we connect. And it is the creator that we want to discover as the result of the connection between us. This is why the Creator is called Bo reh, come and see. So, we come and see that he is one. Here we discover him as one between us as a single agreement, a single understanding, a feeling, everything between us as one single point of connection. Without this we cannot discover him, this is why the Creator is called come and see, we build him as he says, you have made me because we in the connection between us, truly build this condition; there is no creator without the created being. Before we established before us the concept of the Creator he does not exist and he exists only in respect to us. This will be our Creator and that there is the higher force called Elokim, God or other names we have to the higher force but in respect to us but we build and attain it is called Boreh, come and see.
13. S. (26:53) How can we enter into the point in the heart of the friends and increase the connection.
R. This is something that you need to implement what Rabash recommends, what Baal HaSulam recommends also through The Social Articles. First of all, it is subjugation, the very first action towards connection is nullification, subjugation that each one nullifies towards the friends, and the more he makes a zero out of himself to the friends, so he can connect with them more without placing any condition. The only thing is that we have a common goal and I nullify before them more and more and then I begin to feel that behind each and every friend stands the Creator. I discovered this according to how much I subjugate before them and then I discovered the Creator this way. I didn’t think it's going to be this way and this is how it is supposed to happen. I thought I have to do all kinds of actions and study but no. If I make a zero out of myself and I make the friend as one or ten or one hundred or one thousand, the more, the better, I discover behind them the Creator, this is what the sage is telling us; behind each friend stands the Creator. Let us try today to be able to do this. This is how we progress from meeting to meeting but today it can be a really great effort through the congress and this is how we will do it and we will succeed.
14. S. (29:12) What does to serve the king mean?
R. Serving the king means that I go along with him according to the process, according to the system, according to the goal which he established for the created beings that he created, that he made us in this way, and I agree in my work to implement his plan I accept a priori that this plan is correct and good for me even though it is against my nature and I am going forward and I want to implement it. This is how we progress.
15. S. (30:18) What is cover with love?
R. We are all made of the force of hatred, rejection. Our desire to receive that gives us such feelings that I exist but everybody exists around me only to serve me. This is the desire to receive for each and every person even if the person does not feel it yet this is how the desire to receive in each and every person feels that the whole world was made for me, to serve me, and this is the true form of the ego. What we ultimately need to do is to invert this meaning that we by having a ten, that small group where we want to serve the friends, we invert our desire to receive in order to bestow in practice. That we try to do this in the ten, and then we start feeling that the connection is the means in order to reveal the Creator and this is how we progress.
16. S. (32:12) It is written that more than that calf wants to suckle, the cow wants to feed, what does this mean, how can we increase this feeling in us?
R. Only by gathering the friends together, being with your friends and then to hear, to read and feel the friends. How much each and everybody has this feeling there is no way to increase my own desires I can add other desires to my desire this is what we mean when we say to increase the desire. I learn from you, how you do this from the other from the third person and by this I can increase my desire because all the increment of the desire is collecting together back to the original vessel of Adam HaRishon. There is no more or less. The more we collect these pieces together from the original Adam these pieces which we distanced by the sin of The Tree of Knowledge. We collect these pieces together and by this the desire becomes bigger to such an extent that it is big enough that if this desire incorporates ten parts, we do not turn ten into one but they become like one. They remain separate but upon them there is one closure, something that encapsulates them together, and in these 10 having one single purpose, a single common goal, and each nullifying themselves in order to connect to the others, there is a force of annulment which is called Tzimtzum, Masach and Ohr Hozer; restriction, screen and reflected light. There is a common force between them and the Creator and in these ten within the ten you start feeling the upper force because they themselves established the conditions to feel the Creator. It does not come from outside, it is established by them from inside from the forces of connection upon the forces of rejection.
17. S. (35:06) What should we think about how we should behave during the Congress?
R. I think we should also ask our friends about this. I talked about it many times, we have to reach the connection between us. It does not depend on us gathering physically in one place or being far away from each other physically. This is completely not in the way spirituality acts. In spirituality what matters is the desire. If the desires are attracted to one goal this means we are connected. We may be in two different ends of the universe but as Kabbalists say, our whole universe, all the planets, galaxies and everything in it is only one small point within the spiritual endless world. When we say Ein Sof, infinite, it doesn’t mean distances are infinite. This means it has an end when we realize our entire will to receive.
18. S. (37:00) What does it mean that the most important thing in the gathering is to ask to find the Creator?
R. In our gathering the most important thing for us is to turn to the Creator with a single prayer. We learned in the past few weeks that the main thing is prayer because we do not have the strength to correct ourselves or even to understand what we need because we are always facing a degree we cannot see. Every new degree is Ein Sof. We have no understanding, no approach to it. The only thing we know is that we are knocking on that door and we are asking to let us in, and this action is called a prayer. This is considered an opening for the ones who knock on the gates of repentance, when we want to enter His Palace. That’s why this is our work. The main thing is the right request, and then the Creator will answer, but it has to be according to our connection so that we can have an intensity of request and aim ourselves to the correct request. What are we asking for and how are we asking for it? Why is this so important for the Creator? This is because we are asking for a certain thing above our ego. It is not like a baby crying and the mother knows what he wants and she gives it to him. We can also do so, we do that, but still, we have to try to be a bit more close to the upper force.
19. S. (39:17) If somebody does you harm how can we turn this into a desire to bestow?
R. Look if we are talking about a friend in your group this is one thing, if you are talking about people on the outside, it is completely different. About the friend in the group, I have to say that I simply do not see or interpret his behavior correctly so I have to accept it 'above reason'. If we are talking about people on the outside, you have to behave as it is customary in general. Society this is all.
20. S. (40:18) During the congress need to try to break the walls between us in the whole world Kli or only between us in the 10? We are here making efforts to enter impregnation in the 10 or in relation to the whole world Kli?
R. We are trying to be connected as much as possible within the 10 that all our hearts will be together. We are not capable of coming to this in a real way if we are not in a greater society that also craves to become connected this way. And we also want to be in mutual bestowal between the 10’s from one 10 to another. And then this gives every 10 the ability to be connected. I really hope we will succeed. It depends on us thinking about ourselves, about our 10 and also thinking about the whole vessel of BB the whole world Kli. And this mutual bestowal between the general Kli and every 10 within it, our intention is to reach, and we hope to reach the right kind of connection.
21. WSQ: (43:11) How can we erase all the partitions and differences between us and want only a single thing, to connect in order to discover the Creator in our connections?

22. WSQ: (50:00) What do we ask from The Creator and how do we ask so what do we ask, and how do we ask?
23. R. (57:53) I am very happy that this is how it is happening to us there are changes already. We don't see the real spiritual picture but it's coming closer and more and being established. I think we should start with the study material we prepared from excerpt number 5.

24. R. (59:56) This means we have to be prepared when all the difficulties we are having on the path...it's not like a mother who lets the child do whatever he wants but she guards him so he won't harm himself. Rather in order to educate people, and children too, you have to set conditions for them so they will engage in the right things, make the efforts, think how to do it and see how much it works out, or maybe they are not successful and maybe they are. Meaning the educational process requires that this person will find more forces of advancement by his effort. It's not that it's enough for the baby to just suckle and if it smiles for his mother then it's good, he did it all. No, he has to give more important responses aimed at being more mature. That's what we demand from children too as they grow by games, by soft things in the beginning, but later on we demand more and more. And we can see that children don’t understand why we're demanding things from them because we started off with treating them in such a nice soft way, do whatever you want, we’ll forgive everything, you’re allowed to do anything. Suddenly the child discovers that not everything is allowed, there are limitations, and efforts are required. He has to study, he has to pass exams and sometimes maybe get punished if he's not successful. And all that for what? This is from his family, from the people that want him to develop in a nice way. It is actually for him to develop, to advance. That's why here there is a problem, that entering the first spiritual degree, for that we need to learn a new kind of a behavior of the Creator of nature towards us. Why is it doing it to us? What does it want from us exactly? How can we respond to it? How can we enter a dialogue with it? And this is the problem of the first degree. To learn to understand and to get used to the Creator’s relation to us and how we should relate to Him. It is not according to our egoistic habits, that’s why it’s difficult. To learn it, it takes time. You get used to it, you agree to it, and even want it to be so. To the extent of the consent, we reach a state where we are adhered to the Creator. The main thing is that we justify Him. That this is the right way.

25. R. (01:04:26) Meaning in order to enter the truth I have to shut my ears and close my eyes. And only as much as I refrain from what I used to feel, what I used to always hear and see and thus accept the world, now I have to replace this beastly sense with a spiritual sense, with eyes and ears that are spiritual. 26. R. (01:05:17) What we are now, in our conditions, a person sees into himself and sees himself and what appears to us as a wide universe, billions of people and all that, I am seeing my internal self, nothing more than that. Outside I don't see anything. My ego doesn't let me go out and see what exists there. That is the whole mistake, that we think that we exist in some big, wide world with eternal, vast distances – there’s no such thing. It’s all within us as we learn from perception of reality.

27. R. (01:06:18) Meaning to see the world on the outside the way it truly is, and not internally in man’s ego.

And then he will see the Creator. That other than the person, there is only the Creator. This has to do more with the perception of reality but it tells us why we chose this excerpt because it talks about the difficulty in entering the first degree, it’s a change of perception of reality.
28. S. (01:07:19) How can we come to that great longing when we are so different from each other so we can build our spiritual temple?
R. We need to think more and more that we're not seeing anything, we are basically, unconscious. Just as in our world, we see people in life, or in the cinema, where you see people are losing consciousness and then a person is detached. It happened to me several times in my life, losing consciousness and then a person is detached. We are detached this way from the spiritual world, we are disconnected. If we want to regain consciousness, this is what the wisdom of Kabbalah tells us what to do. Rise above our ego, enter a foreign desire which is outside of me, how is it possible? A foreign desire means the Creator opposite to us. I can't make that leap, I don't have the “how” so there’s a means by which I can leap into the Creator out of myself into the Creator. So that leap happens through the group. That’s the whole thing. The upper light through the phases of direct light, as we learn, works from root 1, 2, 3, and 4, Keter, Hochma, Bina, and Malchut and it builds the will to receive in the Malchut and that is our leap. The leap that we make towards the light is on the way back. How do I do this, if I connect the group, even if I don't yet realize how exactly it works, but if I connect the group and unite with them; and nullify before them as the Malchut towards the other nine Sefirot above me, by that I wish to resemble the Keter. And then it turns out that if I do so, I'm jumping out of my side, from my side to the Creator side, that's it, by the group. That's basically the whole means, the whole device, the patent.
29. S. (01:10:32) What should we do in order to go above all things and not lose the intention to be in a constant desire to serve the king?
R. You have to discuss the importance of the goal. That our life is short and also, we can see how complicated and even difficult life is. And how in this world, there is really nothing from which to really exist and benefit and really get pleasure from. We need to understand the goal that we were given from above. That the Creator wants our closeness with Him. He chose each and every one of us specifically, with tweezers, and He wants you and you and you want the same with each and every man. This is how the upper system works. First, we have to be responsible for being chosen by the Creator. Now, what am I to do in relation to that? How can I give back, reconnect with Him, what should I do, what’s up to me, what is my obligation? That's how we advance; and, more importantly, that's what the Kabbalists advise us how to do is, first, through connection between us. If we connect, on top of all the distances, the resistance between us because their resistance between us, the Creator sets them deliberately. He, Himself, is between us, creating all kinds of fights between us, distances between us. We need to see it as ‘help-mate against thee.’ He goes that on purpose so we can grow and be able to connect above the forces of separation. If we understand this game then we begin to play with it. We begin to play, ‘I for Him, He for me’ – that's how is teaching me. Just like when we were playing chess or something of that sort, cards or a card game, something of that sort. He gives me a certain kind of a problem – it's like a teacher in school – and I have to respond, and then there's another question and then I need to give another response. And this way, we come closer to each other, I better understand and feel him, and that’s how we go all the way to the point where I study him completely until I understand who the Creator is because I’ve made myself corrected to be like Him, that's it.
(01:13:37) R. I am happy that we have women participating here.
30. S. (01:14:40) The Creator is playing with our personal states: let's say, coming to the morning meeting lesson with some burdening or fogginess. What can we do to be incorporated in the general atmosphere of the world vessel? In corporate in the state of the vessel?
R. First of all, we need to understand that whatever we feel is what the Creator is summoning this feeling within us and He is governing our whole internality from big things to smaller things, it doesn't matter. He designs all of that within us. That's one, and secondly, all that He does is in order to advance us to the goal. From the general and particular goal, He shines on us and then we feel our state, and these states come to us as difficult states. We don't want to get up and move forward in our connection and so on. This is in order to overcome and advancing build ourselves, all that we build, ultimately, is the Masach, above our ego, and we don't have any other choice. But on the other hand, this work could happen joyfully if we see before us that we are coming closer to the Creator. And how can we go through this path? By the help of the group, it turns out that it's not that difficult. The influence of the group upon us and the help of the friends together, we don't forget that we received the disturbances from the Creator, Himself, and that's how we advanced.
31. S. (01:17:13) To rise above my ego in order to connect with my friends, if we are unable to connect with everyone, it means that I have to take one friend and connect with her and then, this way to connect to each one?
R. That’s a technical thing that we need to discuss but not right now, but it’s desirable to connect with everyone. I’m telling you from experience, my bitter experience, that even though it's easier to connect one person, as if we belong to spiritual progress, it is more effective to connect to the group. But as we connect to the group, we have to also be careful that it's not something vague, as in the group, but rather a bit more personal towards each and every one. I have to put the goal in front of me, that I am bonded with each one in the group and with the whole group as one, and there is no barrier here in front of me, no prevention. I do anything to dilute myself to be incorporated in the group in a way that I don't exist, I am in all of them. The more disturbances I have, I see it as assistance that here I have to bring in more force.
32. S. (01:19:24) The external desire that we feel that we are talking about, what is the way that we grasp it in the 10, how can we grab that desire in the 10?
R. To raise the importance of connection back to the Kli of Adam that was broken, and we come back to that vessel and we discover the Creator and cling to Him, that's it. Through this system of connection between us, we discover the Creator more and more as found in the system.
33. S. (01:20:27) In this game that you say through which we discover the Creator, is prayer the means to ask for new cards in this game? Is that the way to get to know Him better – each time we get new cards with the friends?
R. The only way the only thing that we ultimately establish from us towards the Creator, that is the prayer – that's how He makes correction in us. But in order to achieve that prayer, we need many actions on the way and, most importantly is to understand that the prayer, meaning raising our deficiency to the Creator, it has to come from everyone, from the 10 as much as possible so that it is the deficiency of the 10 and then the Creator will hear. If instead of the 10 comes a deficiency from one person, it's not heard at all, the Creator is the common force and it relates only to or at least to several that are as one. Only to a request to rise spiritually, nothing else. If it’s anything else then every person in the world is praying, and what does that give them? We have to connect like Rabash writes, “we have gathered here, etc., in order to ask for the Creator for the force of work connection between everyone;” that ‘love will cover all crimes.” The love comes from the Creator, the crime comes from us, as we have one thing against the other and then the Creator covers our crimes and that's how we reach spirituality.
34. S. (01:23:04) When the world Kli will come into conception, how would that affect the whole world?
R. I can't tell you for certain these things because these things have never happened before. We are the first one's on this path and we have to make it happen. I hope that we will, as we rise in spirituality, will begin to see great changes in the world. Gradually people will understand and begin to feel, and the nations and countries even very far from spirituality, it will start to influence everyone quite fast.

35. S. (01:26:06) What is reality and how does a person define it?
R. ‘Reality’ is such that we're all in darkness. Imagine it, we are all in a big hole in the dark and we can't see anything, for real. We need to turn on the light and see, and that is the problem. We can see the light on the condition that we are in forces of bestowal. I'm not sure exactly how to express it but there are many examples of such things or discussions.
36. S. (01:27:18) It feels like the wall between us and the friends is like being afraid to love them. It’s like if we love each other, we will fall apart like Adam HaRishon, again. How can we increase desire to unite despite the fear?
R. Importance, importance of the goal! So much so that I don't care who I connect and unite with, who’s my friend. If he has the same goal then he's my friend, and then I enter a connection with them. And I don't look at anything else; even the other way around, the more they reject and repel me because of all kinds of qualities or other things but he is still aimed at the same goal, I want to connect with them above all the crimes, above all the differences, and this is especially true between the women. It is known that women towards each other keep their distance, they can't do anything internally, to come closer – this is the nature of the woman. But when we talk about spirituality, all of our corporal circumstances are complete and they shouldn't be valid. We are talking about the connection of the hearts as one all the women as one all the women; all the men as one man, and we will be like Adam and Eve sharing one Kli.
37. S. (01:29:31) Can you give us an exercise for the 10 to change the perception of reality but not to go into a new illusion. Can you explain the difference between my work towards the 10 and the work of the 10 towards me?
R. Well, of course there's a difference between you and your work towards the 10. Your work towards the 10 is first of all, annulment. To annul yourself you need to do this towards the 10; and the work of the 10 towards you is maximum of showing you how the Creator relates to you. I'm very happy to see what's happening in Czechoslovakia. Look at the big group there!
38. S. (01:30:39) Does the revealing of the spiritual senses occur in each friend separately or in the 10 among the friends of the 10?
R. The spiritual senses happens between the friends, between one and the other, as a network of connection between everyone and in that network of connection with discovering the Creator. So, the sooner we build this connection between us, this connection will become stronger and more diverse, then we can discover the Creator. Of course, from time to time we will discover more and more crimes in our connections and we will correct them and that's we will reveal the Creator it says if we are catching him as if we are hunting him and then we are really more and more and more powerfully more intensively.

That I am under the upper force and I want to come closer to Him, not that He will come closer to me and that He will change his qualities?
