268. It is written, “And you, do not fear, My servant Jacob, and do not dread, Israel, for I am with you.” “You” is the ark of the covenant, Malchut, the degree that walks with her children, the holy nation, in exile. When Moses asked for mercy on Israel, it is written, “If You do so to me, please do kill me.”
269. But Moses said this: “One degree that You have given me is called ‘You,’ Malchut, since it has no separation from You. Its Hey, the letter Hey of Atah [You], is gripped with Israel. If You obliterate it from the world, the Hey of You that was gripped to Israel is removed from the name Atah [You], and At [You (female form)] is left. This is why it is written, ‘If You [At] do so to me,’ for if You obliterate Israel, the letter Hey, the core of the name Atah, will be uprooted, and only the At will remain from Atah. It follows that You will make me an At from Atah, as it is written, ‘At [You] do so to me.’”
270. This is why Joshua said afterwards, “And what will you do for your great name, for the name ‘You’”? Certainly, that name is the core and the basis of everything, as it is written “You are the Lord.” Although the Creator did not tell Moses that the Hey will be withdrawn from the name You, he knew that one was dependent on the other, that the letter Hey of You depends on Israel, and the iniquity causes the Hey to be uprooted from the You.
“And you, do not fear, My servant Jacob, and do not dread, Israel.” Jacob and Israel are all one. “For I am with you.” It is not written, “For you are with Me,” but “for I am with you.” This indicates that the name You is connected to Israel, which is why it is written, “For I will commit annihilation on all the nations, and on you, I will not commit annihilation.” On all the nations, I will commit annihilation, but on you, I will not commit annihilation because of the Hey of You that is tied to Israel.
271. The pressure and duress of Israel have brought them several benefits and gains. The inertness of the rest of the nations, who do not have pressures and troubles in this world, causes them many harms. The pressure and duress of Israel caused them to have benefits and gains. They are the bride [spelled like annihilation in Hebrew], for when everything is pressed, when all the audible letters in it are accentuated, when the Kaf is accentuated and the Lamed is accentuated, it indicates that through the pressure, they are rewarded with the upper bride, who is the Shechina.
The inertness of the rest of the nations, who have no pressure and duress, causes them inertness and harm. This is annihilation [spelled like “bride” in Hebrew], with unaccentuated Kaf and Lamed, as it is written, “For I have heard a decree of destruction.” “For I will commit annihilation,” unaccentuated annihilation, with unaccentuated Kaf and Lamed. But for Israel, who had pressure and trouble, they were rewarded with the bride, with accentuated Kaf and Lamed, as it is written, “and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels,” where the bride is the Shechina.
272. Who are her jewels, for it is written, “as a bride adorns herself with her jewels”? Israel are the jewels of the bride, the Shechina, since Israel, who were under pressure and in trouble, are rewarded with what is written, “I will restore the fallen tabernacle of David,” the tabernacle of peace, the Shechina. And the rest of the nations, who had laxation from trouble and distress, an unaccentuated Kalah [destruction] comes to them later, with unaccentuated Kaf and Lamed, as previously, they had laxation from trouble.
Hence, for I will commit annihilation on all the nations, and on you, I will not commit annihilation,” for you do not deserve it, since you have already been in distress many times, and in the constant pressure of the exile. Hence, you will have an accentuated and pressed Kalah [bride], who is the Shechina.
273. “I will afflict you for the sentence.” There is suffering during the judgment; thus, it should have been written, “I will afflict you with the sentence,” so why is it written, “I will afflict you for the sentence”? However, it is written, “The Lord comes with a sentence with the elders of His people,” and that day, the Creator brings the healing to Israel first, before they are judged, so they can endure it. And what is the healing? It is that each time, the Creator gives Israel a little bit of suffering, at each time and in each generation, so when they arise to the great day of judgment, when the dead are revived, no judgment will rule over them.
274. “I will by no means clean you.” When Israel are alone and do not ascend to judgment with the rest of the nations before the end of correction, the Creator deals with them leniently and atones for them. When they arise for judgment with the rest of the nations at the end of correction, the Creator knows that Sam, who watches over Esau, will come to mention Israel’s iniquities and has collected all their iniquities with him for the day of judgment, and the Creator has already brought the healing first, that for every iniquity, He struck and cleaned them with suffering bit-by-bit. This is “and clean,” with suffering, in advance. For this reason, in the true judgment, in the future, I will not clean you from the world through judgment, since you have already suffered afflictions each time a little bit.
275. “I will not clean you.” Although you are My children, I will not leave your iniquities, but I will collect from you bit-by-bit, so you are worthy on the great day of judgment. When they come to the judgment, Sam comes with several writings on them, and the Creator takes out against them several writings of suffering that Israel suffered for each iniquity, and all the iniquities are erased, and He does not make any allowances for them at all. Rather, they have already suffered their punishment. At that time, the power and strength of Sam weakens and he cannot overcome them. Then, he will pass from the world, he and his entire side, and all his peoples, as it is written, “And you, do not fear, My servant Jacob.” And because of it, it is written, “I will discipline you in just measure, and I will by no means clean you.”
