Kabbalist Dr. Michael Laitman and Oren Levi discuss man’s vulnerability against nature in relation to a recent bird flu outbreak in Israel. The following is a loose transcript of the talk…
Oren Levi: An outbreak of bird flu in Israel’s Hula Valley has killed thousands of migratory cranes. Farmers were forced to slaughter millions of chickens and destroy the eggs, as authorities try to contain the deadliest wildlife disaster in the nation’s history. How is it possible that in 2022, man is still so vulnerable against nature?
Kabbalist Dr. Michael Laitman: Man is dependent on so many different parameters and details in the environment for its existence. We are mere tiny creatures who do not know how to build a conducive environment for ourselves. Our science—our wisdom—comes from our ego. We are so absorbed in thoughts toward a beneficial outcome for the self at the expense of the environment.
Man must understand that he can exist in nature only if he conquers his ego. Then, man will know how to live life without causing harm to his environment. All harmful things, including the bird flu, will altogether disappear if the main saboteur, the human ego, will finally be destroyed.
Pinned Comment: How does man come to exit the ego, the self that is the main obstacle to balance and harmony?
