Kabbalist Dr. Michael Laitman and Oren Levi discuss Jewish identity between American Jews and Israel. Below is a loose transcript of the talk… Oren Levi: Recently, Trump said in an interview that American Jews no longer love Israel that much, or they simply don't care about it. He said that in his opinion, Evangelist Christians love Israel more than US Jews do. Now, this is a tough statement, what do you think about it? Kabbalist Dr. Michael Laitman: It's not a tough statement. It's the truth, I really see things eye-to-eye with him. This is a part of the Jewish people that does not associate itself with the state of Israel. They associate themselves only with America. They surely don't want to be related to the State of Israel or to the nation of Israel. I don't think about them as my brothers either. Some of them hate Israel because of the association with Israel, and if they care about Israel, then it might place them into a hostile position in American society. Israelis shouldn’t count on the Jews in the US, They will not help Israelis in times of trouble. Oren Levi: What can give us strength? Dr. Laitman: Only our connection. The connection between us and the great force of nature that ties us together and holds us, and thanks to it, we exist. Suppose that here in Israel we succeed in coming a bit closer to each other, we connect a bit more. We treat each other a bit more favorably. This will give us more strength. The nation of Israel at its foundation is a gathering of the 70 nations of the world. This is how they connected back in Abraham's times. He connected them and took them out of Babylon, and brought them to the Land of Canaan. Since then, we are called “Israel” from the words “Yashar Kel,” meaning those that are aimed straight at the Creator. We see our goal in connecting “as one man with one heart,” above the ego, which separates us. “All of Israel are friends,” and from the love of Israel—from loving your fellow man—we come to a general love. This will protect us because by this, we connect to the one acting force in nature.
