We are visiting Italy and find ourselves at a unique place, next to Mount Vesuvius, the most active volcano in Europe. It erupts in diverse ways, like the rest of nature—falling out of balance—we experience it in viruses, tsunamis, and other phenomena. Does a volcano have a spiritual root? Where do all these natural disasters arise? What is their purpose? According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, the still (inanimate), vegetative and animate levels develop and reach certain limits. Thereafter, to transition from one of those states to a higher state, an eruption occurs, such as those that we see in the formation of the Earth and the entire universe. When we as humanity are able to understand the influence we have over nature, we would then realize that everything revolves around us. All changes and the dynamics of nature concern the person alone. It will become evident to humanity that it is only through correctly connecting between us in our relationships that we will be able to calm nature down toward us.
