Part 2: Rabash. Volume 3. Record 857.  The Need for a Kli Without Light.

Reader: We are reading in The Writings Of Rabash, Volume 3, the article number 857, The Need For A Kli Without Light.

Reading Article: (00:25) No. 857. The Need for a Kli without Light Purim, February 1976

Complete faith is faith that yields wholeness. It is as Maimonides said, “What is repentance? Until He who knows the mysteries will testify.”

In the “Introduction to The Study of the Ten Sefirot,” he interpreted that he means until the Creator opens his eyes and he is rewarded with nearing the Creator. This is regarded as the Creator testifying to him. It also follows that his intention is that wholeness means that the Creator brought him closer and admitted him into His hall, all of him says, “Holy.”

Ten Sefirot were made in Nekudim, but the completion of their work was in Atzilut, since in Akudim there was only one Kli [vessel], meaning the Sefira of Malchut, which was dark because there was a Tzimtzum [restriction] on her quality and she remained in the dark.

It follows that according to the rule that only Malchut is the receiver, it turns out that Malchut obtains the first nine that emerged through the Zivug de Hakaa that Malchut did. This is regarded as one Kli and one dot, since only her quality remained in the dark after the Tzimtzum.

In Nekudim, where Malchut ascended to Bina, it means that Malchut uses only the vessels of bestowal in each and every Sefira. Thus, Malchut attains the GE in the first nine, and the AHP in each Sefira departed from the degree. It follows that it became dark in every Sefira because no light was extended to the vessels of reception.

Afterward, during the Gadlut [greatness/adulthood], when they did extend abundance into the vessels of reception, the Kelim [vessels] broke because they were small Kelim. That is, the Masach [screen] could not stop itself from receiving in order to receive.

In Atzilut, even after the Gadlut returned, the real AHP in each degree remained empty from the abundance because only VAK de Hochma illuminated. This is regarded that there was no Zivug on Malchut herself, but only on Malchut that is sweetened in Bina. Thus, in each Sefira, an empty quality remained, and this is discerned as a Kli, meaning without light.

The reason we need a Kli without light is that only then is it apparent that there is still a lack that we must correct. Otherwise, we would think that we have achieved wholeness.

M. Laitman: Why is everyone silent? They asked to read it again.

Reader: We'll read it again. The Need for a Kli Without Light, 857.

Reading Article: (05:55) Again.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (11:12) Is the Parsa what protects the second restriction in Atzilut?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: Does the second restriction get canceled in Atzilut for the sake of the lower ones?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (11:36) Now, he opens the article with the words, complete faith, meaning, faith that yields wholeness.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: And throughout the article he talks about an empty vessel that doesn't bring wholeness. So how can faith lead to wholeness if that vessel remains empty?

M. Laitman: Everybody can hear the question? Who can reply?

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (12:13) I think he's describing how the whole of creation cascaded to reach a state where there's always a deficiency for a created being to feel that he's lacking, and from that he'll be able to develop his faith, the connection with the Creator, that he will complete for him, upon that deficiency that exists in him.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (12:38) Lack is a place where the light cannot enter because the screen has not yet been corrected, or let's say that Malchut has not yet performed the correction, the mitigation of the judgments by Bina. So that's how it is done, the Kli is corrected, gradually. At the end of the day, when the whole Kli will be corrected, then there will be no lack. The lack is a place where he doesn't have a screen upon. So he cannot receive light there. There's a, he can’t in order to receive, there.

M. Laitman: Who can add more?

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (13:25) In every degree, we need to find a deficiency in order to rise to the next degree, and Rabash here is explaining how it happens, how it's built. If I don't search for the deficiency to raise upon it, I remain in a state of still of Kedusha, and don't attain the purpose of creation, that's why we always have to seek a lack.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (13:59) That deficiency that he's talking about throughout the whole thing is the one that helps us reach complete faith. Because the desire to receive itself we cannot use, altogether, it is always lacking and demanding. We start to connect in the Tens, and to begin to build seemingly, let's say for the sake of the matter, that mitigated Malchut with which we start to create connections and prayer, etc.. And it's also in some way, I hope it's not going to confuse, that it connects to the first part of the lesson that we learned of personal Providence, he also called complete faith. And a friend, also, asked how, if not for myself and None Else Besides Him, all the answers are in the Ten, that's what's important.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (14:53) It may be complete faith from the cause and consequence, where the cause is faith and the consequence is wholeness. Whoever is working for faith and not for knowledge and confidence, works against his will to receive and therefore equalizing form with the Creator. And the Creator shows him that he is and gives him wholeness upon that. And upon that wholeness, he always has to seek the new lack, because he wants to ascend, he wants to perform corrections.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (15:35) If the deficiency is not a lack, then it's an additional deficiency.

M. Laitman: What do you mean, additional?

Student: It's like the exertion is the reward. When we get used to, actually, it's not that I have exertion and then I have some kind of additional reward after that. I learn that the exertion itself is what adheres me to the Creator.

M. Laitman: Okay, that's clear.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (16:15) And probably the real AHP won't be revealed, which is what the Creator needs to testify to, on that day. That he has to wait for that day, which is in complete faith, and only the Creator can do that.

M. Laitman: Beautiful.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (16:44) He's showing that He's doing great actions in the world, so why does it remain in the darkness?

M. Laitman: It remains in darkness because light still doesn't get to it. The ten Sefirot are not yet connected, correctly.

Student: He says, in Nekudim, she performs the coupling with the upper light to attain the first nine, in Atzilut she extends the abundance to the vessels of reception that are mitigated with Bina.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: Meaning, she's truly?

M. Laitman: It's taking steps but what about the AHP?

Student: The question is what do we actually need to yearn for? How can we depict the state that we need to yearn to?

M. Laitman: To correct vessels of reception.

Student: How can you depict that because there's a feeling that Malchut is always filled with light. When we operate from below upwards, we constantly receive filling, although not in Malchut, itself. But in the system, in the environment, in the Sefirot. How to depict something that we should yearn for?

M. Laitman: To yearn for the Creator to be revealed in all the first nine Sefirot.

Student: Can we describe it, or is it above the description of?

M. Laitman: No, we can yearn for that. We need to depict it as the Creator needing to be revealed in all the first nine.

Student: It's revealed in the first nine.

M. Laitman: And then later, in Malchut.

Student: The revelation of the Creator in Malchut is something you can describe? How to yearn for this because there's this constant feeling that we do have filling. That the first nine are being filled.

M. Laitman: But we can't feel the first nine, we need the illumination to reach all the vessels.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (19:26) It's considered that Malchut itself did not have the coupling. But Malchut is sweetened with Bina and every Sefira remains as an empty quality, which is considered a vessel, meaning that it's without light. These are actually the letters of the work that we need to fill with our work, before the end of correction?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: And at the end of the correction, Malchut, itself is corrected. That's after we did all the work?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: It's actually, these empty vessels are like complete vessels that we have to attain the Creator with?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (20:13) Maybe to expand the question: During the shattering of the vessels, it was upon the greatest light, Dalet Gimel, 4-3. And now after Atzilut, the light of Hochma illuminates, and it doesn't illuminate in Malchut, itself, because you can't illuminate her. So how does the light of faith fill that deficiency? It's a, actually, the Kli is a Kli that felt the greatest lights, it shattered, and now it can't receive them, but in the end, it does need to receive them.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: So how does the light of faith, how can it fill vessels that had 4-3 and broke?

M. Laitman: What's the problem then? We can correct them.

Student: It's a deficiency of the purpose of creation. Truly, it's a deficiency of the upper 3 of Hochma. And now here there's VAK of Hochma and not on all the vessels. So he's saying that the world of faith filled it.

M. Laitman: And?

Student: It's not clear how it fills a deficiency of the purpose of creation?

M. Laitman: The deficiency is greater than the light.

Student: That's how it appears.

M. Laitman: By making a correction, the Creator is making a correction, together we're making a correction on Dalet over Gimel, 4 over 3; we're making a correction.

Student: At the end of the correction, it comes to this, it's gradual but it comes to it eventually.

M. Laitman: If we don't make any mistakes, if we don't make any mistakes.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (22:26) Here, Rabash kind of solves the contradiction between faith and deficiency. Because if we attain even the smallest faith, it gives the feeling of wholeness. And then there's a clash between faith and deficiency, and here he describes the mechanism in how darkness that is in each and every Sefira by the Malchut that's in each Sefira actually enables the increasing of the force of faith, when the deficiency is always there. It's kind of like this perpetual mobility, this eternal engine that keeps going. How we rise in faith and attain. Maybe, like that?

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (23:23) We see that for Kabbalists, the language of the Sefirot and the simplest things, it's all one system, there's no separation.

M. Laitman: Why should there be separation?

Student: I agree. I'm saying there's very few that are drawn to the study of TES. And I'm asking if that's how it should be, just like there are very few people who know how to write code, but many use a computer. Or is it something that most are asking about from the campuses because many people, very few people have the patience. And everybody else, it takes months for a person to study the “Preface to the Wisdom of Kabbalah,” and it takes a long time before they even know why they're engaged in this. It's something that really, if someone sees an attraction, they say, oh, come, let's learn Pticha, I'll give you a recording. Or is it something that we do have to have in our society, in our studies, in the campuses?

M. Laitman: We don't find too many people who are interested in the system.

Student: I see in every course, there's like one or two that they do, like one lesson, the four phases or something like that, to give the background. And there's like two that are really wanting it. So, I send them to the recorded course of yours or something from the past. But there isn't any, wow, there's a lot of people looking for this. I'm also talking about us, we engage less in TES, and maybe that's how it needs to be. But then he comes with this article and all the records from back then arise. And I see what a wonderful thing that we have, the background in this study because it all connects to one thing in the end.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (25:14) You answered the friend earlier, that we will reach this complete filling if we're not mistaken. What does it mean to err or to make a mistake?

M. Laitman: We'll hear the commands of the Creator and carry them out loyally.

Student: But in the end, nevertheless, the system comes to correction?

M. Laitman: Yes, in the end it's all good, so, yes.

Student: So what does it mean if we don't make a mistake or if we don't err, that we'll do it right or faster?

M. Laitman: No, we'll be ready to reach an identification with the Creator.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (26:04) To continue the friend, I am from those people who are attracted to TES. And this short little article is really nice because he, kind of, concentrates all of TES in a few sentences. And that same dark place that has no light, that's where three places, special places are created from which we draw the lights. Those places are the world of Assiya and the world of Yetzira and the world of Beria, which receive lights from the world of Atzilut. And it's worthwhile to know that because that's where we get all these lights. I don't know, I would like to talk about this.

M. Laitman: Yes, but is that enough what you're saying?

Student: It's not enough, I wish there was more.

M. Laitman: I'm afraid to go to TES because I saw how people dry out.

Student: Right, I agree with you completely, if there's no deficiency for it, there's no point in getting into it.

M. Laitman: I don't know, I don't know what to do, not that we need it that much.

Student: But it completes you in a certain way. Let's take the article we talked about earlier. Without TES, TES is like physics, it's very precise. Meaning, you have a deficiency. If you have a screen, you receive light. If you have a kilo of deficiency, you have a screen upon it, you get a kilo of light. And in the previous article, it's very..?

M. Laitman: There are all kinds.

Student: Right, but we need both; this completes that.

M. Laitman: I'm willing to give you as much as you want, as much TES as you want but on the condition that you will stick to it, and not run off during the study. We've been through that, before, on the one hand. On the other hand, when you enter the feeling a little bit, and later you go to TES, then the study becomes more attractive, it speaks to you more.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (28:56) That's what I was trying to understand from you, because now I heard that maybe it's not so necessary for us, right now; it could be that it's fine. I tried to understand if it is necessary, even if a few should engage in it. Maybe, now the generation doesn't need it anymore, I don't know.

M. Laitman: No, no, not necessarily, I think it will be the other way around. The generation will discover that it needs, it must enter TES. Okay, what are we doing next?

Reader: (29:44) Announcements. Have a good day.
