1. Rav’s Introduction: Yes, we have been studying this article for several days now, today we will finish it, I hope. And I recommend that each one or every 10 will nevertheless get back to this article again because it really organizes the right approach to obtaining Godliness.
Reader continues: (01:11) Twice. “We must know God has made one opposite the other.”
R. (02:44) Whom am I working for and why do I need the spiritual work?
He still doesn't get an answer for it but the fact that his intention to come to bestow upon the Creator to give him contentment, this is already clear. Because he sees resistance from his ego which doesn't let him do anything even the smallest things. Which he used to do without thinking about them today even after much thinking and after great effort it's still very hard for him to do anything that pertains to bestowing and connection.
Reader continues (03:42) “Thus the primary work…”
R. (04:03) The serpent is the Sitra Achra.
Reader continues: (04:10) “Since it yells and argues…”
R. (04:39) Meaning these two arguments we hear from our ego, what is this work for you, why do you want to bestow and not receive and who is the Lord that I should obey his voice. Meaning why work for someone else is more important whether it's the Creator or others, it doesn't matter but someone else outside of me, says the body why is it more important than working for me? These are the two questions that a person is always in and if he's really in them it's a sign that he is directed correctly on the path.
2. S. (05:26) What's so bad about those questions of who and what?
R. They are great questions, you shouldn't need to erase them, you just need to work with them correctly. Because without scrutinizing them correctly and answering them correctly you can achieve spirituality, the truth. The one force that controls the Creator. All those questions, there are many matters in them, all those questions which are called, what and who, what is this work, meaning what is the work of bestowal, why do you need to bestow, you have a certain nature work and benefit for yourself and that's it. Those questions in your mind and heart sometimes you can't be in it. So what is this work for you and also there's the work of whom do you want to serve? If you're working for yourself and you understand what is good for you and you work accordingly as in this world with your job, your family, anything that you want to achieve in your life. This is called the right work when you see what to do in order to succeed to gain but to work for the Creator, He is hidden. We don't even know if he exists, who he is, what is he, what does he want from us, are you sure that when you come to bestowal you actually come to Him? Who is He that you should work for Him? How do you know for sure, your ego constantly hides the Creator from you? Those two questions, what is this work meaning bestowal, what is it and the Creator, who is He? Those two things are constantly hidden from us, I don't see them on the horizon. Sometimes they appear and then I feel bad. How can I, out of this bad feeling when I search for the Creator and can't find Him and maybe I want to do some act of bestowal, let's assume that I want it, but I don't know what it is, how, to whom, to what, how can I reinforce myself in this work of who and what, that's the problem.
S. How should we answer these questions?
R. We will soon see.
Reader continues (08:43) Twice. “It seems as if the who argument is a rational argument... “
3. R. (10:15) In other words what is important for us is nevertheless, the senses and the senses give the intellect all kinds of depictions, all kinds of forms and then the intellect brings it as a rational argument but still everything depends on the senses because we remember at the basis of creation is a desire, and the intellect comes in order to serve the desire in all kinds of ways, direct, indirect but in the end it is to do what the original desire wants.
Reader continues (10:51) “In other words what the census demand...”
4. R. (11:25) There are many things here that we can scrutinize if you want. The mind or the intellect and the senses are two things that manage us or we manage them, depends how you relate to them but that's the main thing in creation, the intellect and the senses, meaning the mind and the heart. Then we need to explain to ourselves as much as possible so that each time we will be able to distinguish what is the mind, what is the heart, arguments of the mind and arguments of the heart and how we work, how we correct the mind and the heart.
5. S. (12:14) In the beginning we work with the intellect as if we convince ourselves by the work in the 10 that the Creator exists and we headed this way and I guess then descents come and the mind changes, is this how it is?
R. Normally yes, we come to the wisdom of Kabbalah in general because we want to know. We want to understand the secrets of life, who is managing life, how can I manage my own life. It's all from the perspective of the intellect, what I am lacking is knowledge, attainment. But afterwards we learn and besides learning we also go, we become treated from above. Forces operate on us and begin to expand our desires. Then we become confused. Our desire grows and asks all kinds of questions in the desire. The questions become, what is this work for you, why do you need to bestow or why are you told to bestow? If you want only to receive and satisfy yourself which is your natural disposition, call it egoistic, never mind, that's me. I want to satisfy myself with all kinds of emotional satisfactions as well as intellectual ones and here I'm told no. And the wisdom of Kabbalah gradually, it also takes a long time, until I understand it and that you don't need to work with your intellect and with your feeling but try to come to a Godly mind and heart. Godly mind and heart means you feel the other and only then yourself, to the extent that you can help others. Your mind needs to work after the feeling only in a direction of how to help others. It turns out that those discernments, definitions, values of bestowal that I’m not used to, that I don't want, that I always reject, all of a sudden the wisdom of Kabbalah shoves them into me and I have to be in them and I really don't want it. There are people who are closer to bestowal, to love of others, let animals live, they help people. I'm not like that I'm a normal person, I have no problems, I don't want to do anything bad to anyone but also I'm not really too keen on going out and helping everyone and I don't feel like I have to and I also see around me that people don't do that. Each one cares for himself, for his family, for his country. If we're talking about climate things and all other global things that pertains to everyone, so everyone is concerned with the planet, maybe. But it's not like I have a natural disposition for it and here in the wisdom of Kabbalah I hear that I am required to turn myself upside down, to what are we, a communist, socialist, idealist, I don't know who those Kabbalists are. They say, no it's the laws of nature. Whether we like to or not we will have to follow them, to obey them and in nature there is only one force, the power of bestowal and love. Therefore all of nature, if we did not spoil it, if we didn't see it through our egoistic perspective we would see perfect harmony which is called paradise or the upper world. But the more we install our evil egoistic ‘I’, we spoil our vision and we shorten our field of vision to the boundaries called this world. Even in these boundaries, we see and understand everything in a distorted way, so that whatever happens in the end we will have to change our approach to life to existence to nature. Either in a good way or in a bad way, normally it happens in both it's called, through the middle line. This is what we are told but in truth initially the Creator created us and positioned us opposite from Himself. He created the will to receive which works, which used to work in bestowal when they were Adam and Eve meaning the will to receive and the intention to bestow, They were in the Garden of Eden meaning everyone bestowed to everyone within the upper light in the force of bestowal, but in that state, they didn't attain their state. In order to give them a feeling and attainment in the Creator in knowing the Creator to be like the Creator in their minds and hearts, for this they have to receive opposite qualities from the Creator because you can study anything only from its opposite form. This is why there was the breaking which is called the sin of the tree of knowledge. We begin from the point of the shattering, each and every generation begins to correct its own sin as it is called and this is how we begin to know ourselves. When we come to a certain state where we are pushed by nature's forces, to know the system of bestowal more and more opposite from our system which is the system of reception, then we see that there are mainly two questions, everything concentrates around two questions. A question from the intellect and a question from the feeling, who is the Lord that I shall obey his voice, that's the emotional one and what is this work for you, is the intellectual question, the question from the intellect. We have to work on those two questions and through them, through scrutinizing them we can come to understand what we have opposite from it in the system of bestowal. We are in the system of reception in our mind and hearts in who and what and then we can come from this into the system of bestowal. Also, to who and what to attaining the Creator and to feeling all of reality this is where we are now about to come. Even though we don't quite understand what is happening to us, the more we engage in this just like kids who don't exactly know what they are doing, but they are busy with their games and the game itself promotes them. It advances them and they begin to see that you should do this and that and this and that, they learn. They fall, they get all kinds of bruises, they cry but that's how they grow. As it is written there is no righteous man on earth who does good but he went through the bad. Yes there is no righteous man on earth who does good and does not sin, only through sins and mistakes do we come to the right operations. Don't get excited, we will go and do it, those questions of who and what are the main questions in creation and they start from being made of an intellectual system and an emotional system.
6. S. (22:38) Will these ‘’who and what’’ questions ever end, or will it be renewed in us to rise above it every time?
R. Even the tiniest part of Adam HaRishon, when the whole vessel of Adam HaRishon vessel shattered and split into a myriad pieces, each such piece has contact with the Creator and has a place and a plan by which they all have to reconnect into that body called Adam HaRishon, which is basically a Partzuf or a soul, Neshama. There, there's a place for everyone and without that someone, it cannot be complete, there cannot be the final correction. So we're in this system, we cannot get away from it, and we can’t change anything other than to agree and accelerate, hurry on the way, I can accelerate approaching the corrected place, the corrected state. If I don't do it, then there are forces in nature that will pressure me and force me to, nevertheless, come to it, sooner or later. I can only rush my development. It's a lot because I can come in this life to my personal end of correction. But I can also spend many more lifetimes with other people who also didn't succeed in doing it or didn't even come close to it. So it all depends on our efforts and on how much we want to put together this Adam HaRishon, this mini Adam HaRishon, in our 10. To the extent that we want this system to really live among us, then we will scrutinize what are the relationships that should be in the corrected Partzuf and elevate this Partzuf from the level of the world of Assiya, even this world, to elevate it, and elevate it through all the worlds to the world of Ein Sof (infinity), through the 125 degrees. This is basically our goal and our work in the 10.
7. S. (25:39) When you accustom yourself to learning in order to bestow in the intellect, it does not ask ‘’whom”. Is this in the middle of the way or the end of it?
R. I can't say, it can be in any situation. Perhaps a question will awaken in a person, what am I working for, I don't want it, he resists and yells, and discovers that he hates this whole matter. But he doesn't run away from the path and then immediately after, almost, he feels that he has a solution and he can advance by doing a slight change in his perspective on what is happening. That's why our advancement is precisely in the ‘’what and who.’’ Once it's an intellectual, once it’s emotional, and so on and so forth, because often I stop and say why am I doing it, what for, it's not worthwhile, I don't get anything out of it. Other times, I am just under my feeling so I don't care about the intellect. I feel in closeness an advancement, and development, and all those intellectual things that I had don't come into my mind anymore. The feeling is stronger than the intellect while it's present, while it's active. The mind is stronger than the feeling when the feeling is not operating and then, we can awaken the intellect. So that's how they alternate.
S. (27:44) It seems that there is a part on the path that we go through it without descents, the condition you describe here, is that it?
R. I don't think that there are places where there is no fault, no descent. It is written, ‘’a thousand times will a righteous fall and rise.’’ There cannot be a spiritual ascent, if there isn't a descent or a spiritual descent, or fall before it. It's impossible because you have to discover the broken vessel, how to correct it, to look for how to correct it, to organize the whole environment to its correction then rise. Otherwise, how will you do it? So without descents there are no ascents. The descents are not descents, they are ascents on the left line. We call them descents, for short, but it's not a descent. The fact that we're adding to the will to receive, I discover myself falling again and again. It's an order for me to take these vessels and with them come close to the group again into the Creator, and try with all of those vessels that appeared in the fall to achieve adhesion again and again. So you can't say that there is a state of an ascent without a descent that comes before it. Moreover, it is written that the greatest descent will be in the final steps before the final correction. The states there will be very difficult on planet Earth, too, in our world. There will be such waves of hunger and cruelty among all the people, to the point where people will not be able to trust the people in his own household. It is written, “A man hates the dwellers of his household,’’ and there are others, there are even Kabbalists who wrote, ‘’I wouldn't want to live in that time.’’ They were trying to convey to us those states, that each time we approach great corrections, before them we will have great descents. But we need to understand that this whole picture that we feel is a picture that exists in our minds as we learn in the perception of reality. Therefore, if we know how to approach it, how to correct it, we can see in the world that the world is good or relatively, and it's not that terrible. So, what am I trying to say here, we can change the world because the world comes the word ‘’Olam’’ (world) comes from the word ‘’A’alama’’, concealment. So to the extent that I conceal my ego, under the screen, I see the real world, I see the Creator above me. To the extent that I can’t conceal it, I see the opposite, the shattering in front of me. We will talk about it, I just want you to see how much we can talk about in this article.
S. On the one hand, he writes that you accustom yourself to work in order to bestow, the mind doesn't ask the question of ‘’who’’. On the other hand, it seems like these questions are going to go until the end of the path, so it's confusing. What's the essence of the mind, of these questions when the mind doesn't ask ‘’who?’’
R. We have two parts along the way. A part of the way is the ascent of Malchut to the level of Bina, and there's a part from the middle of Bina to Keter. When we rise from Malchut to Bina, we want to acquire qualities of bestowal. Therefore, we don't want to deal with our vessels of reception, only to bestow, bestow in order to bestow, to give, to connect, to bond, etc. After we acquire the qualities of bestowal, we are drawn to use them. What will I do with them, if I want to bestow now? I am in a state where it is like a woman at the end of her pregnancy, she really wants to give birth, she’s got labor pains already, she wants to eject, to deliver the embryo already, the fetus. So where are we when we're in the qualities of Bina, and we are filled with the qualities of Bina, with bestowal? We want to extend it. Then, we deliver out of ourselves the next stage, the next part of the way when we already want to come to bestowal. Then, we come to bestowing. But in bestowing we also have ascents and descents, and all kinds of states that are much more juicy, emotional than before. We will talk about it.
8. S. (34:53) The work of Kabbalists is a constant war between those questions and the goal?
R. I don't think it's a war. You could put it as war, but I think it's a celebration. Let's look at it this way, why not. I think that regular people who still haven't come into some contact with corrections, they are at war, a war of survival, of understanding what am I living for. Most people would even prefer to end their lives, etc. They are under the governance of corporations, all kinds of companies that manipulate them, that sell them all kinds of trash. They work only to buy this trash and enrich the bank accounts of the rich people who sell it to them and manipulate them. I don't think that the way we look at life we lost anything. We've got a perspective that maybe we haven't quite solidified our perspective on the world. Nevertheless, where are we and where are those miserable people who don't know what they are living for and what is the purpose of life, and are constantly racing to get, and get, and get at least something as they're taught by the media and by other people. So at least, we take for ourselves the purpose of the work, the purpose of life, the purpose of nature that is eternal, complete, and to it we aim. We haven't succeeded so far, but we are on the way. At least, we are moving towards something eternal, complete, infinite and not a life like everybody else's.
9. S. (37:47) You said that the intellect is also kind of a sense. How come I only by complimenting the two of them can we process the picture of reality we need?
R. The main thing is the feeling. Desire is feeling but in order to give us certain discernments the different desires in order to change but one desire we need the mind so the mind will criticize and we'll look at the feeling.
S. is this connected to the right line left line or the qualities of the creation and Creator?
R. Later inside of us we will learn how it's connected but for now the principle is simple. All of creation is feeling desire, desires to material of creation and we need the intellect, the mind just because the desire was shattered into many pieces and we need to reassemble them somehow, and assign each of the desires weight and direction and locate its place in this new corrected system and for that we need the intellect, the mind; meaning the mind developed to the of the extent we will perform our spiritual corrections.
S. in the end, when we rise and connect to the Light, will the intellect disappear?
R. The intellect will not disappear, it will be on the same level as the feeling. We will use them both to attain wholeness.
10. S. (39:55) How do we approach states where we are facing spirituality and we become aware of the real source of our awakening?
R. We simply need to move forward and at some point along the way, we will begin to distinguish precisely between the feeling, the mind, and how to place one versus the other; and how to have certain degrees in our feeling and accordingly degrees in our mind and the connection between the mind and the feeling is determined in the clothing of the direct light inside of reflected light. Then with the help of the reflected light we begin to investigate and to explore, understand direct light. To receive it and feel it and understand it with our mind and feeling, that's where they reside together mind and feeling and will be able to be made up of these two. It will come I think quite soon.
11. S. (41:40) What is Kedusha and how do we feel it in the 10?
R. Kedusha, Holiness means love and bestowal. It's also two paths, in other words the same path with 2 parts: from Malchut to Bina is degrees of bestowal and from Bina to Keter is degrees of love. From Malchut to Bina are the actions of you shall not do, meaning do not engage in the will to receive and from Bina to Keter you begin to engage in the will to receive but in order to bestow. That's why the connection there, which is an expression of love.
12. S. (42:48) If the intellect only serves the senses, why is it when the feeling awakens say the feeling of the desire to harm another person. It seems like the intellect calculates the benefit or harm for oneself as opposed to harm to the other?
R. The Mind works behind the feeling, the feeling is stronger, that's the answer.
13. S. (43:30) If I understand this correctly, on the Earthly corporeal level it is my mind and heart and the spiritual mind and heart appear in the 10? So the question is how will these questions be expressed in the 10?
R. The system of the 10 needs to be like the 10 Sefirot like a Partzuf. Where the connection has to be like in the Partzuf. We don't know exactly what it is and each time it changes. Like we see Partzufim that change as they rise from degree to degree in different worlds, each time everything changes, but our work each time is to annul ourselves towards the others and serve the others in the 10 as much as possible and that's how we advance. There's nothing more to add here.
S. How do we help one another in the 10?
R. The main thing is the example as you said.
13. S. (44:53) Can it be said that the intellect is cancelled before the feeling, meaning in bestowal, can you put it this way?
R. Not that it's canceled, rather the intellect helps us understand how and why and where we are advancing with our feelings.
S. It works for the feelings.
R. It works for the feelings.
S. So we have to convert it to make the feeling work for the intellect?
R. No we can't do it, we can only move closer and closer between us emotionally, inside the tens and then from that we will understand the new discernment in the intellect and feeling. We will understand what we feel, why we feel it, where it's coming from and so on and so forth, only from coming closer to one another in the 10. After all the actions, all the time, another few months go by and then again will feel that there is no other choice but to come closer to one another internally.
S. Can we say that when we obtain a certain feeling of connection, at some point we can begin to measure our advancement in the common mind and feeling of the 10?
R. Yes, you can see it on the friend. There are those who look down at one another and there are those who come closer to one another. You have to leave them room for recognition of evil and for correction.
S. Is the mind and heart working in the 10 or only the feeling?
R. No also the mind, how can I work without it? For the time being my mind is completely disconnected from my feelings. Later we'll come to a connection between us and then the mind and feeling of each one and all of us together, become to belong to one system, we discover them and identify them in this way.
S. So can we say that the feeling seemingly feels like it belongs to us but the intellect comes from above, can you put it this way?
R. Maybe it's easier for you to say it this way for now, but in truth both the mind and the feeling everything comes from above. A person is like an empty computer, we have to place the software in it and then all of the information. The software is the mind and all the information is the feeling.
14. S. (48:16) How do we put together the puzzle of mind and heart?
R. A person has to do it from his own experience and his own efforts. To try to work with the intellect and with feeling together with a mind and heart.
15. S. (48:47) Can you say that the mind and heart are work from the perspective of the lights or perspective of the vessels?
R. No you shouldn't.
16. S. (49:03) When you get vitality and feeling from the deep truth in the morning lesson with the friends, in the next moment the intellect exerts to forget during the day, how not to forget with the heart felt during the lesson?
R. I'm always with my phone like everyone. I have the article from the morning in my phone and I keep going back to that text, not to the same bit of the text, the article is long and I can stroll through it from top to bottom or bottom to top and renew different discernments in me, that's what I recommend.
17. S. (49:53) Can it be said that the intellect is measured by the changes that there are in the heart and feeling?
R. I didn't quite understand.
S. If there are no changes in the feeling then there is no intellect. It's as if there's no reason for an intellect.
R. I don't understand.
S. Can it be said that the intellect is measured by those changes that we have in our feelings?
R. Yes that is correct intellect was given in order to measure and evaluate the feeling it is a helpful auxiliary tool. For the feeling the main thing is the feeling and the intellect was given to scrutinize the feeling, to compare them and come up with certain conclusions but then again to activate the feeling.
18. S. (51:22) Can we influence our sensitivity?
R. Of course by delving deeper into the thought you can raise the sensitivity. The moral person delves into certain phenomena. He becomes more sensitive to that phenomenon to all the next nuances, all the components in it.
19. S. (52:04) Is there a spiritual intellect of the 10, if yes, how can we attain that?
R. A spiritual mind in the 10 of course there will be the minute there will be a 10 when everyone connects together after a few of those efforts to be together, you will feel that you have a common feeling, a common mind, a thought, the recognition, the understanding that there is something born in the connection between you which is new. That is called a Partzuf.
20. S. (53:10) It is written that the sign is that he fights and sends his arrows to the head of the serpent, it argues who and what arguments. How can you keep yourself, guard yourself from the head of the serpent?
R. The head of the serpent is our head for the time being, the egoistic head, it is called the head of the serpent. So to beware of it is only when I replace the head of reception with the head of bestowing and with that I connect to the heads of my friends. In this way I am safe from being inside the snake.
21. S. (54:09) What should we answer to the question of who and what?
R. What kind of filling fits the questions of who and what? Only the revelation of the quality of bestowal in the desire and the revelation of the intensity of connection in the head.
22. S. (54:57) What structure in the spiritual correction do we build through the questions?
R. You can't do it without questions, as it's written in the wisdom of Kabbalah that everything is founded on questions. Let's say those questions of who and what, which make up the foundation of creation so everything is built on questions that's why we have to ask questions. I'm only asking that you think twice before asking. So that these questions are not to confuse the friends otherwise although you're receiving answers but these questions will work against you. You have to think, how through my questions I can help others. First of all, if I'm not helping others with my question, then I'm not asking it. I am not asking it because by that I am only harming others and myself. So we have to come to a state where only those questions that come according to the article, not everyone who would want to hear you get an answer to I'm only trying to ask these questions.
23. S. (56:35) How will the questions who and what grow in quantity or quality?
R. Only in quality and depth as we walk on the path to the end of correction will always have the questions of who and what, who is the Lord that I should hear his voice, meaning why should I listen to the force of bestowal and not to the force of reception that is in me, that controls my heart and mind. The fact that the Creator gave me the ability to feel myself from the physical mind to think about spirituality. Now I have a question, who is the Lord that I should obey his voice and what is this work for you. Seemingly I have two landlords, two bosses. There is the King, the foolish King that I was born with, that's the will to receive. I'm in it to such an extent that everything works for him and I can't distinguish that it's not me but him to such an extent that everything in me I ascribe, I give and I work for my evil inclination, this is the evil King.
Why evil, because I see no benefit from it. He only tempts me to do more and more but everything goes to him. This is the meaning of he swallows everything and then he vomits, he swallows all the results from my efforts. In addition to that we have the question of; what is this work for you? Why do you wish to leave the work for the old and foolish King when he asks about who is the Lord and why should I obey his voice. So here is the work, why do we need it, so you have to work on the greatness of the quality of bestowal, love of others and the importance of our spiritual goal in place of our corporeal goal. It's not like we say to beginners that you'll have the next world, whole and eternal and it's certain, but it's not the truth. The truth is that we have to appreciate, meaning evaluate, change our values so that the force of love and bestowing will be greater than the force of reception and self-love.
24. S. (59:48) When I succeed in rising above the who and what questions about myself when do these questions become questions of the 10?
R. No, they have to be the questions of the 10, that's it. If not for the questions of who and what they're not questions of the 10, they are simply egoistic questions from someone in the 10. The questions of who and what only those belong to the path, only those are spiritual questions and we should relate only to those. I have no other questions in life.
25. S. (01:00:39) What should we do when incorrect feelings come that aim for the intellect and how do we shift to the Godly intellect?
R. The safest way is to come closer to the group. To have a physical group action, even a physical one. Accordingly I am moving away from the physical who and what into the spiritual who and why. Again I'm saying there has to be in your phone, the article and you, both women and men, you need to go over again, it's enough to read two or three lines and already have a lot to think about.
26. S. (01:01:47) Did the spiritual mind and heart replace the corporeal mind and heart or add to them?
R. This comes intermittently one in place of the other until a person enters spirituality. Then he already possesses spiritual feeling. On that it says the soul of a person shall teach him. The soul of a person teaches him. He only needs to put in the efforts in those places as Kabbalists coming to us. But how will it advance him, he does not know we simply have to keep going.
27. S. (01:02:43) Why do we reject people who care for us, where is the law of love covering all crimes here?
R. I don't know what she is referring to but if it happens that instead of the good attitude we give in return a negative attitude and opposite attitude, then friends should awaken in a person the correct feeling. So he will repent as we call it.
28. S. (01:03:32) What does it mean to conceal the ego and open the Creator?
R. What is the meaning of concealing the ego and to open the Creator before me? I think that in this attraction for love of others, love of friends we solve these two things together .I'm just asking you to understand, men and women, that we have no choice, we have to reach love of others and through love of others we will come to all the other solutions. We just have to get back to the system of Adam HaRishon and to the extent that we go back to that system to that one vessel. To that same extent we will understand and feel everything we will attain the spiritual world and our spiritual state.
29. S. (01:04:53) In our spiritual work the mind tries to cause the heart to awaken towards others, how can you help the heart develop a real feeling of love of others?
R. We simply have to do what, again go over Rabash articles about the group, go over it again. Soon we're going to conclude this article. Let's do it in such a way that after this article you'll repeat articles of Rabash about the group or create a summary from his articles and go over the summary as much as possible too, even daily.
Reader continuous (01:06:10) “the mind is like a person looking in the …. “
30. R. (01:07:08) Meaning the same thing the mind needs to do to us, to show us where we are dirty, so we will know how to clean ourselves and reach equivalence with the Creator.
Reader continues (01:07:23) ”however the hardest thing is all”
31. R. (01:09:48) Look what he is saying here, read the first line, “Hence when one accustoms oneself to work coercively to work in bestowing, the mind also operates lines of bestowing.” You see, using the feeling, by putting emotional effort, we work on mind, that's how we were built. That's why when one accustoms oneself to work coercively meaning I coerce myself, I want to bestow to the other and I want to do something that belongs to bestowing, to work in bestowing, the mind to operates by lines of bestowing that's how I change my nature.
Reader continues: (01:10:48) “at that time….”
32. R. (01:11:01) Because he's also working in bestowal, there was a question, who is Lord I should obey his voice, why should I work in bestowal, then the question disappeared.
Reader continues (01:11:12) “you find that the primary work is in….”
33. R. (01:12:17) Meaning the more we engage in work and bestowal, the more we advance and accordingly our mind will change.
Reads again
34. R. (01:13:03) Meaning to try to perform acts of bestowal between us and this is how we advance.
35. S. (01:14:03) I'm asking if the mind is a mirror that lies to me, is there a mirror that can't show me the truth?
R. Only when you correct your feeling with actions that are anti-egoistic and where there are questions and actions that are egoistic and awakening you and you work in the opposite direction with intention with effort and with labor, that this is what you do and as a result you expect new discernments in your mind.
S. How do I know that the discernments in my mind are right and not egoistic?
R. According to your effort to make actions, actions, actions that are anti-egoistic when instead of you doing whatever you feel like, you do what the Creator wants of you. You replace Pharaoh with the Creator and what is this work for you and who is this Lord that I should listen to, so you were in who is this the Lord that you should listen to and out of that you attain this, what is this work for you.
S. In this work to do actions of bestowing I have a mirror, I have the ability to know of working right?
R. You have the exact discernment because this goes exactly against your evil inclination, against your ego. You have no more clear discernment than this. Understand. Suppose you think about doing something for yourself so instead of that think about doing something good to the 10 to others. This will certainly won't just pop in your mind, it is either you see an example or maybe the Creator is sending you this opportunity and giving you a desire to care for yourself and along with that he's sending you some other thought which is seemingly separate that you can rise above your ego and perform an action of bestowing.
36. S. (01:16:52) Can you explain more about what ‘one accustoms oneself to work coercively in bestowal’ means?
R. He and his friends in the 10 decide to always remind each other about the importance of the connection. That is why it is like holding a ball in the air and sending it to like five or 10 people in a circle and each one throws the ball to the others keeping the ball in the air. The ball is the importance of spirituality always staying above them in the air. That is the influence of the environment on the person. So let's pay attention and put our focus and time on that.
37. S. (01:18:28) What does it mean to clean up the dirt?
R. Dirt is anything that stands in my way of seeing the truth.
S. But we are not erasing anything so what are we doing?
R. Something dirty is good if it points out a clean state and I have to correct a situation. That is why I have work. Meaning this dirt gives me the work because I can reach the truth by the amplitude of this dirt.
38. S. (01:19:45) You said that a person has to make an emotional effort and not an intellectual one. What is an emotional effort?
R. When I want to increase the importance of bestowal above the importance of reception.
S. I want what I want. Where is the effort in this?
R. The effort is against the desire otherwise there will not be any effort. You are not hearing what I am saying. Making an effort is in a place where I do not want but I do want to change my line of thought, my desire. That is related to effort.
39. S. (01:20:45) How will I correct my attitude or the flaws I see in the friends?
R. Above reason, above your mind your intellect. You just need to want to see your friends as whole and complete because this will be a sign that you are advancing and that your degree is whole. All kinds of negative qualities appear to you and you want to cover them with love. What does it mean to cover them with love? I do not want to see them as negative, I want to see them as positive. Just like our love for our children. You do not want to see something bad in them, only good. Love ruins your sight, your vision. That is why every mother sees her child as the most beautiful, the smartest child. We have to understand that the most important thing for us is to reach the degree of love.
S. Is correction annulling or rising above? What does it mean that I am correcting a situation or a state? If I went to the next state doesn't that mean that I corrected it?
R. It depends on what way you will move on. You may say you and that you are letting it go. That is not a correction. You have to reach a state where you elevate yourself above all your criticism and all your negative attitudes towards your friends and upon that you determine that you love them with all the negative things in them. You love them just like a mother with her baby.
S. Do I have to tell them this?
R. You don't have to say that. It's clear that everyone should relate to each other in this way.
S. Is it enough that I show love towards them?
R. You don’t even have to show it. It all depends on the spirit of the society. This is what we call the concealed Torah. The Creator is revealed personally to each and every one. We do not have to burst out with love. Should we bring flowers to each other?
S. No, but this attitude is… (Cut off by Rav)
R. If this attitude helps everyone's love of friends then we will talk about it, but if it is not helpful it may even be detrimental and decrease the love of friends. Talking a lot about it decreases its value. Men are quiet most of the time; the nature of women is to talk about it more. Men’s nature is to be more internal, more introverted.
40. S. (01:25:15) Is there any benefit of prayer that comes out of the mind and not of the heart?
R. Of course, there's a benefit. However it only seems this way to a person. It is impossible for prayer to come only through the intellect, it is not a computer. Prayer should come out of emotional discernments because our nature is desire, meaning emotion.
41. S. (01:26:01) Can you elaborate on how the ‘who’ question is connected to the feeling and the ‘what’ question is connected to the mind?
R. “Who is the Lord that I should obey His voice?” Is a more intellectual discernment because it is either out of the Creator, the will to bestow, or the nature of the created being who is going to control me. I am thinking about it in my intellect. “What is this work for you” is more emotional, for me personally. It is not whom I belong to somewhere up there but what is this work, what is required of me. The fact that I am under the control of the will to receive is clear to me and my whole emotion is in that will to receive. I will get a completely new direction when I replace my whole emotion, my desire, to a desire to bestow. Working with this is more emotional work.
.
42. S (01:27:42) When a person reads that he needs to hate the desire to receive and that it is completely evil, it creates something like an inner violence. Is it important to feel this or do we need to have a different attitude about how to work with the ego without being at war with it?
R. I do not think it will help us to have some agreement or truce with our ego. It is not helpful like agreements between people or countries who hate each other. It is only for some time, which is just postponing this, and later we will erupt with extra hatred between us. There cannot be any peace, calmness, or agreement with the evil inclination, as the verse says ‘blunt his teeth’. You can't kill it or do anything with it except for pushing it into the corner and keeping it there. It will pop out of there every time and you will have to subjugate it every day.
43. S. (01:29:46) Can I say that my 10 is the mirror showing me my deficiencies?
R. You should say the opposite: my 10 is my mirror showing me my negative discernments. Yes, that is correct. I should see the extent I am not yet complete in my bestowal in my 10 because bestowing to them is bestowing to the Creator.
S. Will the love that covers what I see with my eyes later cover my ability to see my deficiencies?
R. No, because you have to realize this love in the 10 by bending yourself, your ego, to them. Don’t worry that by that you are diminishing or hiding your ego. On the contrary, you see better where you should correct and bend it towards the 10.
44. S. (01:31:31) Can a person become aware of how his intellect and emotions influence them?
R. That is how we walk on two feet, once this one and then the other. We will learn how to walk. We are just now entering this process.
45. S. (01:22:35) What is the definition of emotion in the wisdom of Kabbalah? I heard that it is data. What is this data?
R. I don't know what you heard, I do not want to hear that. I want to hear the question “what is emotion?” Emotion is what is felt, what is filling the person's will to receive. That is what is considered to be emotion. That is very simple.
46. S. (01:32:57) What action is an action of bestowal?
R. Bestowal is an action that stems from others, or one person, or the 10, or the whole world or the Creator, that are more than my desire. I use my desire in order to fulfill the desire of others.
47. S. (01:33:33) Questions often arise in the 10 but are not being asked by the whole 10 but only by one or two friends. When do the questions become questions from the 10 and not personal egoistic questions?
R. I think that to begin with a 10 should agree that whatever question arises in the 10 is a question that relates to the whole 10 rather than one person. If these ladies or men advance together, there is no such thing that it belongs to one person and not the other. There is no such thing. All questions are important for everyone equally and all the answers are accepted equally for everyone.
48. S. (01:34:48) How can I turn to the Creator and use the wisdom of Kabbalah in order to advance to the purpose of creation from a state of a lack of my own forces and complete despair?
R. Specifically out of this complete despair and having no one to trust but the Creator are we capable of advancing to the purpose of creation.
S. So what to do?
R. Very simple. What we are learning. Am I counting on my own mind and emotion, my own strength?
