Part 1:
Rabash. Article No. 42, 1991. What Is, “An Ox Knows Its Owner, etc., Israel Does Not Know,” in the Work?
1. S. (36:54) What does it mean that “each one will live according to his own faith”?
R. According to how much power of faith he achieves.
S. So there either is faith or there isn’t faith.
R. No, there's degrees in it.
S. So what, the more I ask myself everyday anew ‘what do I want for myself’, do I get more faith from the states the Creator gives us about the connection between us and the friends?
R. Yes, yes.
S. He says he compares us to an ox and a donkey, are we better than them or not?
R. These are two forms of nature: an ox is more connected to its owner and a donkey is more connected to its food, to its manger.
2. S. (38:20) He writes here that “all of man's work is to obtain the force of faith and just like there is knowledge and there's faith and that is all of our work”, and that the strength to overcome and to do things against the desire is according to the degree of faith. Then later on he says that “the faith of a person, he can be attained only by doing actions above reason”; it's unclear, to do actions above reason you need above reason, and then he writes that in order to do that you need to have faith above reason.
R. We still don't feel how it works; it will come.
3. S. (39:20) He gives advice here that a person needs to look at truth and not the pleasure, how can this advice be realized, how can I see truth, I only see pleasures?
R. There is a way to go from seeing the pleasures to seeing the truth.
S. How?
R. Through connection with the friends, rising above oneself, and then seeing how much of your body, which you're seeing from the side, is working according to beastliness and you wish to behave with it, you wish to work with it from the side of society, the side of spirituality.
S. Can you say that anything that’s above the body is truth?
R. Yes, yes.
4. S. (40:43) How do you keep holiness from going to other side Sitra Achra, how do you keep a person from crossing over to the Sitra Achra, the other side, maybe that’s correct.
R. Using connection with the friends, scrutinizing the article, this is what we have to do.
5. S. (41:34) He writes in this article and others that you can work with the will to receive forcefully, where do you get strength to do it forcefully? I feel that I'm not able to build bend my will to receive and he always wins.
R. There are forces that we can place against the will to receive, let's say shame, according to the will to receive you wish to do such and such an action but you feel ashamed and so you do otherwise, it cannot be right, it can't be right.
S. Are there more?
R. There are examples, but it doesn't matter, what does matter is that we can twist ourselves a little bit or turn ourselves a little bit in the right direction.
6. S. (42:42) What characterizes concealment before entering the spiritual world?
R. That it's a kind of concealment that a person doesn't think he can cross, a concealment with knowledge, concealment with proof that was a very strong form of concealment.
S. What impression does he leave on man when he experiences it, how does he work with it daily?
R. Only by annulling himself and falling on the friends.
7. S. (43:50) What is ‘wholeness’ or ‘perfection’ of the goal?
R. The wholeness of the goal is when a person sees that if he attains the goal he will have the power to keep himself above the forces of nature that are revealed in him.
8. S. (44:24) When I want to go through the feelings of truth and not the body, how to argue with the body and act immediately?
R. The fact that I do not wish to argue with the body, I wish to cleave, I wish to cleave to the group, those are already correct steps that I'm taking.
9. S. (45:14) Just like the body wants to eat and drink, similarly the soul wants to serve the Creator?
R. Yes.
10. S. (45:38) Rabash writes in this and other articles very sharply about the inner dialogue with the ego, it sounds like this work is more precise and possible than talking to the Creator. Is that correct to identify it that way or perhaps it’s the point that speaks with the ego enables thanks to the work in the ten towards the Creator?
R. We will continue, and things will get clarified more and more.
11. S. (46:18) What level or foundation of faith do we need to reach that it will turn into confidence?
R. When I acquire the power of faith from the group, then this power can already rule over me, dominate me, and I choose, choose it to dominate me.
12. S. (46:56) He writes here that the nation, the people in Israel, the regular people would believe in partial faith and be satisfied by that, and that and Israel is truly true faith, how can we reach true faith, complete faith?
R. You get it from above, it's not like a person chooses: he's got two paths, and he selects one path over another. That's something you get from above.
S. A person knows how to identify if he has partial or complete?
R. They give him opportunities, yes.
S. So, does he know how to say that I am impartial faith or now I have complete faith?
R. Yes.
S. Is there a way to explain how a person feels differences between them, what is ‘complete faith’ in comparison to ‘partial faith’?
R. ‘Complete faith’, I don't know how to say it, it's when, in advance, he annuls himself before the Creator, I'm not sure how to explain it.
13. S. (48:29) He writes here that “a person needs to say to his body that I’m not going to do an act that you will enjoy but I’m going to do an act the Creator will enjoy”. Does the Creator enjoy every act that I don't enjoy?
R. No, not necessarily
S. What does the Creator enjoy?
R. The Creator enjoys as he writes to us and all the books the Kabbalists write to us, people of the Creator, that He enjoys our yearning to Him, our desire to cleave to Him, that's how we approach the Creator through equivalence form.
S. Is it okay for me to enjoy this adhesion?
R. Yes, but you don't do it for the sake of adhesion, rather you do it for the sake of giving contentment to the Creator, and as a result of giving Him contentment, you also enjoy it.
14. S. (50:02) It’s a very deep article that takes us through this path and he ends with the fact that a person needs to bless the evil, which is the descent, is that the essence of working above reason, to bless for the evil?
R. When we bless over the bad as over the good, then we see that there's no bad in the world, but everything is in order to merit a blessing over everything for the Creator.
15. S. (50:46) What is the force of faith and how to strengthen faith in the greatness of the Creator?
R. That's all through the group, you can't receive it from the air or anything, the Creator arranges it such a way that some of the forces we can only receive from the Ten, in actuality all the forces.
16. S. (51:18) Is there such a possibility to be able to pass on the force of faith to my friends?
R. If we work like this then yes, of course.
S. Is the force of faith in the light that reforms, is that the same phenomena?
R. Not entirely, there are things that pass like this and things that pass differently.
17. S. (51:56) Do we force the body to do the work or does the Creator help us?
R. We can't force our body in any way but only to pray to the Creator and the Creator will change the laws of nature and then we change.
18. S. (52:22) Is “working forcefully”, does that mean to give strength to work without any taste, any flavor?
R. Also that, yes.
19. S. (52:38) He said beforehand that I received the force of faith from the group, so this force can already dominate me, control me, and choose that, how do I receive this force of faith from the group?
R. I subjugate myself and the light influences me and arranges my relationship with the group and through the group I receive an awakening and that's how I work.
S. How does one force himself towards that?
R. We have many means for it, I'm in the group, we're going through envy, lust, honor, there are many ways.
20. S. (53:37) It says that “Israel should accept faith like reason for an animal, like something like a beast”. Can you give an example of that in the ten and how can we measure it, how can the ten appreciate to the extent that it is in it?
R. If they connect they begin to feel the power of faith that they need, that they're in.
S. How do we measure it until this level of knowledge, since situations change in the center of the Ten, in mutual sensation, how do we measure this feeling in the middle of faith to knowledge?
R. We don't know this, we have to keep working and then they'll show it to us, they'll show it to us.
21. S. (55:09) There's a question here at the end of the article, I'll read it and ask: “So why before one enters the work of bestowal, he's always uplifted, and now he feels that when he cases that he's distant from the work and everything he does is forceful. There are rules that one mitzvah brings on the next and so, in that case, why did he receive a descent”? My question, the Creator starts with this dialogue here, He awakens in us the will to receive, the same desire that gives us strength to work. He's constantly with us from the very beginning to the end, He's the First and the Last, that He feels the person, that he requires this lifeguard, this life-saving reach, so is that the situation?
R. I'm not hearing a question.
S. The question is if the Creator accompanies us for every step of the way, from the very beginning to the end even when we feel forced in the work, the descents that we need to be grateful for.
R. Yes?
S. So faith needs to start developing from the moment we begin this intention before we start working with envy, honor, lust, first of all we get help from the Creator?
R. Yes.
22. S. (57:08) Does asking the Creator for strength to do things for the body find it difficult, is that a demand for faith in fact?
R. Yes, yes, beautiful!
23. S. (57:64) All the actions are already registered from above, are there are these records, are there souls?
R. I didn't get it.
S. Are there souls that they're already, it's written about then, that they can do in an accelerated path?
R. No, no, this all depends on the person, we have to just accept it.
S. Is the system arranged from above downwards, the cascading of the souls, then in that case, how can I suddenly leap above the order and do Achishena, do an accelerated path?
R. I don't know how to explain it.
.
24. S. (58:48) Can we say the deficiencies of the left line are deficiencies of faith?
R. Most of them, most of them are.
25. S. (59:16) How cannot lose adhesion to the Creator in the time of the descent when I have some this strength, do I there need to annul towards Him, to do everything and to receive this descent, or do I have to have faith that there will be in the ascent to come?
R. Later to have an ascent, I need to try and hold on to the Creator even during the descent as much as I possibly can.
26. S. (01:00:04) Will the Creator help us know or believe?
R. The Creator wants us to attain Him completely, fully, both in knowledge and in faith.
27. S. (01:01:03) The article says that “there is connection between faith and fear”, and in another article it says, “everything is in the hands of the Creator other than fear”, so the question is what is the relation between fear and faith?
R. Connection between fear, spiritual fear, and faith, is that faith is already a spiritual vessel and spiritual fear begins from regular fear a person may have, and it grows and grows and depends on the recognition of the importance of the Creator.
28. S. (01:02:11) I wanted to ask regarding the ascent and descents: The descent is on the level of the ten, on the level of humanity, or on my own level, to what extent do I come closer or further from the tens?
R. One depends on the other, both your state and humanity’s general state, it cannot be divided so clearly.
29. S. (01:02:55) Yesterday, we had a physical meeting of our group, a young group from different countries, the question is are we correctly advancing if we felt during the time of our meeting how we are entering through our reality to some area. Did we pass across the barrier or something else, this took place through mutual inclusion through what we heard, or was that correct? Until this meeting, we experienced such sensations, impressions, and also during the meeting, then everything came down, there was a circle that we are all entered, and we felt a feeling in which we can move within the space; then we had some confusion, not fear but some confusion if we are advancing correctly or no, but we did not go there in order to criticize. But there was a feeling that we lack knowledge, and that is my question, do the sensations come before knowledge, do we need to slow down the sensation or wait for a time where we will get enough knowledge to cover the emotion?
R. You said it all correctly, feeling and reason is not the same, one pursues the other and we should not be worried. We move forward, we should break forward as much as possible, that the feeling above reason and reason be above the feeling, as long as we are moving forward and doing it together, when we're doing it together we cover everything.
S. This article is perceived differently as a result of that.
R. Yes, yes I guess that’s the way it is.
30. S. (01:05:26) What makes believing incomplete faith equal to knowing?
R. The difference between the faith and reason is that faith is a special force and reason is a corporal force; it depends on the degrees, but we will learn how one can be supported by the other.
S. What brings us to complete faith?
R. We will learn that?
S. Is that the knowing?
R. That is not enough.
31. S. (01:06:35) You sure said that I should hear for the Creator not for the desire to adhere but for the desire to bestow, how to convey this inner border to try to bestow upon Him and not to try to adhere with Him?
R. You cannot birth this desire from within your development, it's only when you're doing it with a group, envy, lust and honor, that is what needs to work here.
S. What does it mean that a desire to bestow appears in me but not to adhere?
R. Bestowal means to be in contact with Him, just like He bestows to you, you bestow to Him.
S. Why isn’t it good to be in adherence with Him and it's not good that that is my motivation?
R. Adhesion is a passive action, somewhere, but mutual bestow is an active action.
32. S. (01:07:59) We cannot reach faith with our corporal mind; how can we quiet it down and help one another?
R. We do not need to be afraid of the corporeal mind, gradually it will occupy its rightful place, do not worry about it?
33. S. (01:08:41) Can we say that the quality of faith was given to us to bring us towards freedom of choice?
R. Also true.
34. S. (01:09:02) In the state of a descent, is that an opportunity to strengthen faith?
R. Yes.
S. The overcoming is overcoming, is that actually advancement in my faith or is it recouping with faith every time anew?
R. Both.
S. Yes, but how can I strengthen faith in the ten in faith?
R. In a ten, as you said.
S. Yes but how to strengthen the ten in faith
R. Strengthen the connection in the ten.
35. S. (01:10:13) We need to overcome our desire to receive, and we need to bestow, in that point what is our point is our connection to the soul, who is the one who actually wants to bestow, the will to receive or the soul?
R. Of course the soul, the will to receive never wants to bestow.
