Conduct War Like King David - Selected Excerpts from the sources. #6

Reading Excerpt #6 (00:22) “King David is the Collective Soul...” twice.

1. S. (03:12 ) What does it mean that a person has to also know that the Creator chases him? How is it expressed?

R. In his feeling, in his inner feeling, when he feels and understands how the Creator takes him each time from state to state and advances him more and more toward connection with him toward getting closer to him.

S. That's already contact with the Creator?

R. Perhaps yes perhaps not but these are already signs ,signs of getting closer.

2. S. (03:56) It's explained so nicely and so poetic that a person will always advance from one degree to the next then and never-ending coupling. How do you reach a state like that?

R. If a person constantly directs himself towards connection with the Creator who and he constantly wants to feel it more and more, then he begins to gradually feel it.

S. What does it mean to reach an endless coupling?

R. It's when you constantly, constantly yearn to be in contact with the Creator and you direct your feelings to know Him, so you can know Him, and this is how you advance towards Him.

S. Kabbalist if you take that for example throughout the day they take all their sensations and experiences and aim it towards the Creator and connect to Him?

 R. Of course is there anything else besides the Creator? All of creation is the root of everything and a person directs himself toward Him.

S. How do they not get lost, don't lose that focus, that connection?

R. Through personal efforts and prayer.

3. S. (05:50) After the Congress we had, we feel everything about King David in a special way. We're speaking about longing and yearning, and it can somehow depict what that means. The question is: how is this longing-how does this longing happen from love?

R. It's thanks to a person seeing how the Creator follows him, how the Creator leads him from state to state each time higher and higher, a person begins to develop love and gratitude toward the Creator.

S. That means that we need to focus on our sensations even though the pictures change and maybe the feeling the Creator gives us?

R. Yes, you need to detect within each and every picture that this world shows you to see the Creator’s will toward you.

4. S. (07:33) The quality of King David is felt very strongly but I want to ask what does it mean that I feel King David as if he lives inside me?

R. Yes, in each of us there is this point called King David. It's a part of the general Malchut and this is why anyone who is on some spiritual path walks, he feels that specifically that connection with King David, with the general Malchut, that part guards him and pulls him.

S. Could I say that King David is a complete desire?

R. It is a complete desire, but each person has only a very small part of that desire but it's enough to reach the general correction and be incorporated with the general Malchut?

S. So we have one root?

R. One root, yes.

5. S. (09:15) Is accepting deficiencies from the friends and asking for them does that mean that when the Creator wants contact with them He awakens it?

R. This is called the Creator wanting connection with you but through the friends, in the vessel of the friends.

S. What about deficiency from the outside. If I go to the workplace and I see what's happening with friends there that are outside of the path, can I ask for their deficiencies, too?

R. No, there you go in and out, they don't belong to the development of the soul.

6. S. (10:05) What does it mean that the Creator chases a person?

R. The Creator chases a person, he wants to bring him back to the corrected state, and this can happen to the extent that the person chases the Creator and then it turns out that in the end, they meet at new points along the way, between them.

7. S. (10:55) The longing and yearning to the Creator is what a person feels inside him?

R. Yes.

S. It's something very internal, intimate or should we connect it to something common in the ten?

R. This is how it connects.

S. We don't talk about it, it's like an inner feeling for each one?

R. Yes, yes.

8. S. (11:30) There's a state called tall mountain that's felt in us, and it seems that we need to go through a thousand wars until a few thousand people will remain, like Baal HaSulam writes, “..they will finish the thought of creation.” How do we or where do we take the forces to take this path and Acheshena, hasten our times during the state we’re in?

R. The Creator gives it, the Creator gives all of it.

9. S. (12:32) I'm still stuck when you say that dissemination isn't a spiritual action. Can you define what a spiritual action is, and before a person crosses the barrier can he even perform a spiritual action?

R. This is truly a problem, but you need to understand that if a person is not in spirituality with what spiritual force is he working? This is why we can perform acts of dissemination, go out to the general public but these actions are kind of pre-spiritual.

S. In all of our work in the ten and study, maybe we didn't start engaging in Kabbalah and we do that after the Machsom, the barrier?

R. Yes, then we have actions with the upper Light itself but for the time being we are working with our own vessels as much as we can.

S. So everything we are doing now, according to what I understand, aren’t spiritual actions, they are developing deficiencies for spiritual actions?

R. You can put it this way, yes.

10. S. (14:04) It's written, “That he always goes through yearning and longing, from strength to strength in a never-ending coupling.” What does it mean from strength to strength? We always feel that we're further away from the Creator, so what does that mean?

R. Never mind, even if we feel that we are far, we are actually closer because we're always being made, being given to the extent that we overcome our will to receive in advance.

11. S. (14:48) I heard that you said that in the depiction of what the Creator is showing us we have to see His desire towards us. Does that mean that we need to grab the friend's deficiencies of the ten and raise them to the Creator, that's what we need to recognize?

R. No, no, we need only to scrutinize your deficiency and raise it.

S. My deficiency compared to the others, right or my personal one?

R. Your own personal deficiency.

12. S. (15:25) In the first part of the lesson we talked about two discernments in holiness. Here he's saying that the Creator is your shadow and He and you should always go through longing and yearning, so what does it mean to repent from love in those two discernments of holiness?

R. We need to yearn for a mutual feeling of the person with the Creator, that's all.

13. S. (16:16) Can one person who is in some other group, let's say a friend is in Tbilisi, ask a question in a direct way? She's sending questions here and asking through the friends that are here and it's causing a shattering in the group. It seems as if we are her helpers asking for her. Can she ask directly?

R. I don't like the friend because of her character because she wants to stand out all the time, to be seen all the time, that she's organizing etc., and this is why I don't like her so much.

S. There's a shattering here. The friends are divided with friends pushing that shattering?

R. That's the problem that she has. She has to equalize herself with some common middle line in the group where she is or just drop out of all the groups and not connect with them. She's got a problem.

S. We love the friend, so don't break the group, help her ask directly and not to break the group. There’s two people in this ten that are separating between us, is it even possible that we learn about connection and now here what’s happening is a separation? One person is bringing us to the state that we all have our own opinions and can’t connect, this room is common for everyone.

R. Okay, we're not going to get into this scrutiny right now about your conflicts. I'm just trying to relate to each one according to his desire, to collect people, assemble people and not separate people according to a person's desire to be incorporated in them and not to stand, to make himself conspicuous and stand out and it's a problem with women in general, especially with the woman like the friend. So what, let’s tolerate it a little bit and she'll change eventually. It doesn't happen so quickly but this, too, is our work.

14. S. (19:18) In the coupling of King David with the Creator are there ascents and descents all the time or is it a state of an endless ascent?

R. No, in the coupling of King David with the Creator, ascents and descents are very sharp states, very difficult states, harsh ones and therefore because he went through all of them he reached the degree of King David.

15. S. (20:02) When a person justifies every picture that he’s shown and connects this every picture to the goal of creation and he's thankful and so does it mean that this return back to the Creator with repentance from love, when he totally justifies the Creator. The question is: When a person sees that every picture that the Creator sends to him, he's connected to the goal of creation, to do good to the person and the person just thanks wholeheartedly to the Creator for that every picture that he's shown, is this return from love, repentance from love?

R. I cannot say that according to this that this is repentance from love, we're still far from it. We can't feel anything, any of it. 'Repentance from love' is the final degree of adhesion with the Creator.

Reading Excerpt # 7 (22:35) “It is written, “I sought the Lord and He answered me...”.

16. R. (24:20) Yes, what do we learn from this?

17. S. (24:33) According to what I see in myself or in our groups, in our tens is a desire to control. Everyone feels himself to be as a head toward the others, so how to overcome that?

R. Bit by bit, gradually, we correct it, step by step. That's the way it is.

S. I constantly want to feel that I agree for the Creator's control, not my self-control, so how can we attain such a feeling?

R. The control of the Creator is for us to constantly be in bestowal. Bestow in order to bestow, receive in order to bestow, but constantly in bestowal, a person toward the ten and between the tens and to the Creator. This is what we need to reach.

S. According to what I understand, if I see friends, people, I see they have an ego. They have control. I also want control. I also want a desire to control the others but if I don't see people, if I only see the force of the Creator on us and the whole world, so everyone's the Creator, everyone's the upper Force?

R. I also didn't quite understand what you were asking?

S. If I don't see the others, why do I need to feel a desire to control, if I only see the Creator, the upper Force in this world?

R. This is true, in this you are correct.
