Zohar. Introduction to The Book of Zohar, The Commandments of the Torah, The First Commandment, §§189–196

Lesson 27|11 июля 2010 г.
What does “commandment” mean? It is commanded to the creation to change itself. We were created in the most distant form from the Creator in order to give us the opportunity to reveal this state ourselves, as negative, and to learn to raise ourselves to the level of the Creator. The Zohar helps to divide all our corrections into commandments - fundamental directives. Altogether there are 14. They are arranged from 1 to 14 in the sequence in which we must perform them. A clear task is given to us: to advance in such a way that the previous degree serves as an aid to the next. The first commandment is fear of the Creator. These are the gates through which a person comes to the quality of bestowal; on this commandment the whole world stands. There are 3 types of fear, and only the third type of fear is the true one, by which one can grow spiritually. True fear (awe) is that He is great, He is the source of everything, and everything else is as nothing before Him. The very first condition is to rise above all earthly fears, to consider that the Creator is One, Unique, and Unified. One means that absolutely all forces converge in Him. Unique means there is nothing else but that Force which determines everything within us. A person also is One, Unique, and Unified, and everything else is included within him. There is no surrounding world, no space, no Upper World - everything is formed only within a person. The very first inner formation is the formation of awe with respect to the quality of Bestowal and Love, which is called the Creator.
