Part 3:
Baal HaSulam. "Study of the Ten Sefirot" (TES). Vol. 1. Part 3. Inner Observation. Chapter Three. #4 ("When the ten Sefirot of reflected light")
Reading Chapter 3 (00:08) #1 “a) We shall now explain the ten Sefirot of equal level..”
1. S. (08:00) What is exactly the reference of the thickness and lengthwise, what is he referring to?
R. Coarseness and the refinement of the will to receive where the lights expand, and the lights expand according to how much coarseness in the will to receive and how much of the screen is on it and the screen works according to the level of coarseness in the desire, so the hardness of the screen has to be comparable to the coarseness of the desire.
2. S. (09:06) He describes a process here to the extent that I understood this mutual incorporation between direct and reflected light and this always happens in relation to the Malchut?
R. Yes, in each and every one every three individuals specific Sefira there is the same thing.
S. So what happens first, what light comes first, the direct flight or if he first built the reflected light?
R. First Malchut the receives the direct light from above down and then Malchut comes with the restrictions screen and reflected and onwards begin the ascent of the reflected light back to the emanator and then we have such action in each and every degree each and every Sefira where the Malchut rises through each and every Sefira and then reviews in each Sefira reveals a part of its direct light and the part of its reflected light.
3. S. (10:26) We always learned that there are ten Sefirot all together and that each ten Sefirot is all inclusive with another 10 Sefirot and so on and so forth. Now we're seeing that there is 10 Sefirot of lengthwise and thickness wise, that there is a horizontal, it also contains ten Sefirot vertically, that the individual ten Sefirot and horizontally and vertically.
R. According to how you look at it, you can take all of creation as ten Sefirot and then divide them into ten more than ten more all the way to infinity.
S. Through 100.
R. It doesn't matter, it could be 1,000 1,000 1,000.
S. When he talks about the direct light that goes through Keter he did not say in the beginning about Malchut, there's no Malchut of direct light that goes through the Keter?
R. Malchut of the direct light when it responds it responds to the light that comes to it from the Keter therefore it becomes the Keter of the reflected light.
S. You know when he says that the Keter, the upper?
R. This is called, Keter of direct light.
S. There he talks about NHY but not NHYM as though 9 Sefirot, they emerge nine of reflected light and nine of, we know that there should be twenty.
R. Of course 20.
4. S. (12:43) What is the importance of the role that there's no substance in the spiritual, the addition that are Baal HaSulam inventions in every chapter here?
R. Absence in the spiritual means that in the spiritual everything is static, There are no changes, changes only happen in the person that attains.
S. He mentioned it in every chapter is this an obstacle for Kabbalah studies, what is the importance of this rule for us?
R. Its spirituality already established and there is no change happening there. He mostly wants to mention the relationship of the Creator to the created beings is to do good to the Creator being
S. Meaning of the Creator always is released to us in the static matter, and all depends on how we relate to it?
R. Of course it says I'm HaVaYaH and I do not change, and the Creator is good that's good and the emanator on his part there's no change, from the moment that he released the creation and his desire to do good to the created beings, he created the created beings and that is it. There's no more change and we exist in that static state you can call it the final correction, but we only attain what we attain towards ourselves in a gradual way so that we build the vessels for it. So that we can feel where we actually are, so these things have to be revealed in us, gradually but in fact everything was created in one instant, just look at it is written there all the emanations were emanated and all the created beings were created.
S. Meaning all the names, appellations, lights, Partzufim, it is all of us that we attain the Creator?
R. Yes, only with respect to the created beings, from beginning to end there is no change, in general we talked about all of the creation, it has no time, no beginning, no end, no nothing. It is just that is how it is with respect to the created beings we say before it did not exist and then it does exist, it is always respect to the created beings. So that they can receive it gradually and organize it within themselves in their developing vessels so then they can perceive and grasp where they are. It is, but it is not like the situation is changing, nothing is changing in the world nothing is new under the sun.
5. S. (16:20) Why does the direct light diminish from above downwards?
R. Because it goes through screens and each and every screen filters he direct light and matching it to its Malchut and so that they can receive in order to bestow even though the round light comes from the Ein Sof, but Malchut can receive it as the line and that is the issue of the diminishing light.
S. From the direct light that comes does it touch the Malchut ?
R. The direct light touches the Malchut but in such a clothing that it goes through the clothing a processing of each Sefira.
S. What does it mean in clothing?
R. You cannot just clothe the Malchut, it has to be clothed in the restriction, screen, the reflected and then it can be clothed in through the Malchut, the guest does not want to receive from the host but the hosts gifts he has to wrap it with his relation to the host. So that I receive but I receive because I want to give you pleasure, I want to show you how much I enjoy receiving from you. It is not about what you give me, it is not that I disregard what you give me but what is important is that it is coming from you. So all of that is what the Malchut needs to do to rearrange itself to words to giver, the bestower, the Keter.
S. The host wraps what he offers in clothing?
R. No he waits for the Malchut to respond to it and when the Malchut asks then he does it and he helps her cover the direct light with the reflected light. Then it can be received.
S. That is why it's presented to it in the smallest measure?
R. Yes, it does not present it in the smallest just in the precise measurements so that Malchut can make a restriction over it and then build herself with her reflected light.
