Baal HaSulam. "Study of the Ten Sefirot" (TES). Vol. 1. Part 3. Chapter 11. Ohr Pnimi  #7 ("You should know that the Tzimtzum and the Masach ..")

Item 7 Ohr Pnimi “You should know that the Tzimtzum ....” (00:01 - 02:30)

60. R. Meaning that in the coarseness of the vessel we have five degrees root 1 2 3 4, Aleph Bet, Gimel, Dalet, so the more you have a screen over these degrees of coarseness to that extent we have attainment and if we have work in the vessels of reception, those thick coarse vessels, then we have the opportunity to see the light meaning to receive it in our vessels which are the will to receive in order to bestow and if we don't have that power, meaning the powers of the restriction, screen and reflected light over the vessels of reception which is the degrees of Gimel and Dalet, but only Shoresh, Aleph, Bet then we have only the light of Hassadim and then accordingly it is the degree of Katnut, smallness, is that clear?

61. S. (03:24) That is what I wanted to ask, what is the light of the eyes that we call the looking?

R. Restrict only applies to the light of Hochma, the light that is felt in the vessels of reception and that is how in general we call it.

62. S. (03:48) What he is saying is that the looking that was restricted is the secret of the vessels, what are the vessels?

R. The vessel is the will to receive upon which there is a restriction, screen and reflected light and according to the measure of reflected light meaning that he wants to bestow upon the Creator as the Creator wants to bestow upon him like we talked about in today's lesson about how we need to come to resemble the Creator with love as he loves us. Then through such relations “I am for my beloved my beloved is for me”, the host and the guest, we feel each other's desires and attitudes, that means that we are in an interaction between us.

S. So he's saying it's the light of Hassadim?

R. The light of Hassadim is a light of correction without the light of Hassadim we are not in spirituality at all but we can meet the conditions, when we can meet the conditions only for the reception of a light of Hassadim that means we are in Katnut, smallness, like a little child, it still doesn't do anything much in the world, he lives because he is being taken care of he doesn't have the screen or the energy to participate independently in the world to gain things for himself, by himself, that is the light of Hochma.

S. So we create the light of Hassadim?

R. We do not generate any light the light is revealed from above either as light of Hassadim or the light of Hochma, light is just light in an abstract form outside of us, but according to the extent to which we want to resemble that light we then discover it either as the light of Hassadim when we can be in bestowal in coarseness levels Shoresh, Aleph, Bet and the light of Hochma we reveal when we can also do that in degrees 3 and 4, Gimel, Dalet. You're in the lessons every day

S. Who me?

R. What's going on with you it wasn't this way before?

S. I heard something from you, you said that in the end of February, we are going to have a congress in Tel Aviv or was I imagining?

R. I don't know if I said it or not there if it was imagination or not but maybe it sounded that way or didn't I don't know. You'll need to ask the management.

S. There's going to be a meeting about it they're going to see what we want to do and how but obviously will tell everybody but during this next week there will be a meeting about it.

R. Right, that is hearsay, don't relate to this fact.

S. So probably after the vaccine?

R. Right.

63. S. (07:20) There is the illumination of Hochma shining in the AHP, the last sentence he writes that the illumination of Hochma in them, this is the screen that detains the light from AHP

R. Yes.

S. What lights are restricted in the AHP?

R. There is the opposite, inverted relationship between the vessels and the light, forget about that it's not what you want to ask. He talks about AHP and GE the difference in the coarseness of the will to receive and the vessels of bestowal and the vessels of reception, nothing more he still doesn't scrutinize that here where there is anything to ask really.

64. S. (08:19) What does it mean that only the Enayim has Hakaa and Ohr Hozer?

R. So how is it that in the eyes we have, you need to look according to the context to see it there wherever it is written that we have the forehead, the eyes, ear, nose and mouth, the five degrees of coarseness now the lights close in it NRNHY there is an inverse relation between the lights of the vessels as they clothe each other. In the greatest coarseness you get the smallest light clothed on it because that is the order of the way the lights clothes the vessels, so accordingly that is how we measure the vessel. If the vessel is working with its greatest coarseness it awakens the light, the greatest light to clothes in it, but the light actually clothes the purest vessel so we have a part that works with coarseness and the part that receives the light according to its purity, so you have the inverse relationship between the lights and vessels as we say.

65. S. (10:11) I didn't understand about the light of Hassadim there is no Tzimtzum Aleph?

R. There's no restriction on the light of Hassadim only on the light of Hochma, the light of the eyes.

S. You can't get the light of Hassadim to receive, we say this do in order to receive

R. The light of Hassadim is the light of bestowal, it is not felt in the vessels of reception, do you understand? Right now, nobody is stopping you from using Hassadim, the light of Hassadim is a light of bestowal, bestow upon everyone, please there is no problem. While with the light of wisdom you need to receive it into your own vessels in order to bestow upon the Creator or others which is the same thing, but that you need to receive in order to do that. So, you have the coarseness levels of root 1 and 2 or you can work with the light of Hassadim and you have the coarseness levels of 3 and 4 where you can work with the light of Hochma. Accordingly, the lights fill the vessels, if you have only root 1 and 2 then you are called small, young, if you have 3 and 4 then you are called an adult, big.

S. Can we say that the light of Hassadim is a light that the created thing generates?

R. No, there is nothing that the created being generates, the created being can only ask the Creator for the opportunity, for the power to resemble the Creator in bestowal, to bestow in order to bestow or to receive in order to bestow who created being generates nothing.

66. S. (12:15) What does it mean that in my work in the ten I have the coarseness of 0 1 2 and then I get 3 and 4?

R. You can't receive that it's only by wanting to bestow, to join the others like the small joining the great from that you bestow upon the others and then you are filled with the light of Hassadim. What is given to the young one, the small one because he behaves nicely, yes, like in our world. Because he deserves it, because he's small nothing much is demanded from him this is the light of Hassadim that clothed in the vessel and in this light also you have degrees of coarseness on what degree can he affiliated with the others and then get to work with the light of Hochma these are different vessels it is to receive in order to bestow.

S. So I wanted to ask on the degree of the coarseness which you said how can I understand that I have the degrees of root 1 2 and then reveal wholeness in 3 and 4?

R. It is with your desire with which you want to bestow upon the others, if I can bestow upon the others on the degree of root 1 and 2 I don't have much to bestow there but I can affiliate myself with them and then it means that I am small. I am doing the work of Katnut, smallness, whereas if I am with my coarseness on the degrees of 3 and 4 then I can process my state turning it into bestowal to the others to support the others and so on. It is like the young, if the young one joins you he cannot do much for you, it is the opposite way, you need to take care of him. But if a great one, an adult joins with you then he actually helps you this is the difference. It depends upon the level of coarseness with which the vessel works.

S. Let's say I'm working like a small one in the ten, can I feel the difference?

R. Yes, you will feel it.

67. S. (15:30) Yesterday we learned that between the body in the clothing we have the Klipot, shells.

R. Yes.

S. Receiving in order to bestow that's below beyond the Klipot, shells, we have to go through them?

R. The Klipot usually awaken when we have work to do with the vessels of reception, work with the vessels of bestowal there, it's not actually the Klipot. You need to scrutinize when we exactly work with the Klipot but mainly it's when we work with the vessels of reception in order to bestow. They are the Klipot really come and hinder a person, clearly that is to help the person advance to promote him so he moves forward more and more, acquiring more screens.

68. S. (16:42) Working with the vessels of reception with 3 and 4 that means that we discover we're completely opposite of the qualities of the Creator so we'll get these states in the work of the ten and complete bestowal?

R. Yes and also towards the Creator, it is clear that we turn these things in order to bestow. We can bestow upon the Creator specifically when we receive from him and so the work with vessels of reception is the greatest work of bestowal because there is this inversion here. I receive but I receive after the restriction, after the screen so everything I receive is as bestowal upon the Creator not for myself. Like the guest who is with the host who agrees to receive from the host everything that the host offers and by that he bestows.

Item 8 Ohr Pnimi “Meaning from the Havalim that expands from....” (18:01 - 20:52)

69. R. The vapor means reflected light

Reader continues ”meaning the Ohr Hozer descends....” (20:54 - 21: 23)

70. R. We have a screen which stands over the vessel of the will to receive and to the extent that the screen reflects the light, the light clothes in the vessel enters the body, there are many actions we study here because it all depends on the degree of coarseness in the vessel and the degree of hardness opposite it in the screen which are measured against each other and so do we have higher reflected light, meaning more of a grasp on the Creator and more of the ability to resemble him by the action of the vessel. That is what we learn.

71. S. (22:10) What is the difference about speaking about reflected light and vapor?

R. Vapor everything is vapor, as it is written meaning everything depends on the reflected light, that's it.

S. He's asking what is the difference between reflected light and vapor because it sounds the same?

R. It sounds the same it depends on which degrees we are discussing

72. S. (22:42)  Here he speaks about the creation of new vessels or vessels already created with more work to be done on them?

R. No, the vessels were not created, we can constantly see how the vessels become more clarified from above they through the shattering then they are revealed in us and we correct them, we establish them, revive them together this is how we reach the corrected vessels which resemble the Creator according to the equivalence of form with the Creator, the Creator clothes in them. The vessels all of our work is to come to have the proper corrected vessels which are compatible with the Creator then we can call it the corrected vessels.

73. S. (23:53) Is the reflected light feeling the lack of the group?

R. Actually yes, but in order to come to the reflected light we need to be connected together by some form of love between us and then we create a state of restriction and reflected light. Of course we need that without the reflected light we will not be able to discover the Creator, we will not be able to bestow contentment upon Him, He will not be able to be revealed in us. When I receive from the host as the guest and we enjoy it, what does it mean? It means that I am receiving the light from the Creator within my reflected light and so the direct light that clothes in the reflected light, that created being in me, by that I feel how similar I am to the Creator, how close I am to him, how we come closer, how we come to equivalence it is all the clothing of the direct light in the reflected light.

74. S. (25:32) It is not clear here he says the reflected light descends and expands from above downwards, then the 10 Sefirot expand and become vessels to receive the light, what 10 Sefirot become vessels?

R. Of course the reflected light becomes a vessel, the will to receive isn't the vessel it is not a vessel, after the first restriction the will is no longer a vessel it can no longer receive the Upper light and then instead of it, instead of the will to receive comes the restriction, the screen and the reflected light and to the extent that you have the reflected light can then bestow. That is our vessel.

S. He says that the Masach purifies what does it mean that the Masach purifies what is the essence of that action?

R. If I feel that I cannot bestow upon the Creator with the same attitude as before then my previous attitude vanishes gradually because I don't feel the power of bestowal in it.

S. Is there an essence between the action in the ten that you can purify the screen?

R. Yes, you go and study that.

75. S. (27:05) The perception is in the Rosh of the Partzuf of the Creator in the Rosh and to represent him as in the Guf this is called Mocha vLiba, mind and heart?

R. Yes and no, actually the Mocha vLiba, mind and the heart are also in the Rosh and the Guf but in the Rosh it is in potential and in the Guf it is actual.

76. S. (27:40) How does the reflected light expand from below upward?

R. The reflected light comes from us that's why it's called reflected light, but the reflected light that comes from us and rises, it becomes a clothing for the direct light together with the direct light it receives the direct light along with a reflected light in it, into the Partzuf, into the desire.

S. Why is reflected light called Hevel, vapor?

R. It is called vapor because it rises from below upwards so it is called vapor. This is why it is written that everything is vapor, meaning everything is measured and received according to the measure of the reflected light which clothes on the direct light.

77. S. (29:09) How does the coarseness grow?

R. That depends on the person's desire and to the extent to which he with his desire enters the ten in order to bring his desire to the right utilization for the sake of the ten. Then according to that his desire becomes from a coarse when it becomes a pure desire, because he wants to use it to help the others, to serve the others, to give to them and to that extent he turns himself into a Partzuf that bestows.

S. How does it grow?

R. According to the coarseness one receives each time, then his reflected light also grows more and more.

78. S. (30:22) The reference to a mist rose above the earth and watered the earth.... is that referring to the reflected light as well?

R. I can't understand.

79. S. (32:03) A way for me to measure my love towards the ten can I say that it is when I discover that they are purposeful and devoted to the path?

R. No they can be very small and not very devoted to the goal but you are advancing towards the revelation of the Creator with them in order to bestow contentment upon him. These are your vessels, the Creator brought you to the ten and he says to you to take this for yourself, so you need to accept them as parts of your soul, you have nothing more than that. It is very difficult to replace the ten, it is very difficult to work in a way where it is as though I got these friends randomly, it seems random to you but you must accept them and work with them because that is your soul. You need to be in it and there is no getting out of there. Continue as much as you can until the Creator separates you, do something else, this or that, it is in his hands. So you have to see the people that you are with in such a way where you are with them and they are with you and all together you discover the end of correction.

S. It is clear and it is all so easy as the ten is very strong and purposeful, what I'm trying to understand is about the connection between the importance and the greatness towards the path towards the Kabbalists towards the goal, the connection between that and how I express love towards the friends?

R. The connection is such that everything that you read from the Kabbalists needs to be as a foundation for you, teaching you how to relate to the ten.

80. S. During the day we are reading Rabash and I have a big desire throughout the day when I made the friends to also hear a few minutes at the morning lesson with them. They choose selected excerpts, there is a wonderful team that takes the best parts of the morning lesson and I also want to hear a few minutes of that with the friends. You give mainly importance to Rabash?

R. No of course I'm not reducing the importance of the morning lessons in any way, the other way around I prepare what I tell all of you, it is not just me speaking out of myself in the morning lesson that I just open up and start talking. I thought, I always think before the morning lesson what I need to talk about, what is the next stage that we need to enter, how do I wake and you all towards that, how can you and in what way can you understand it, how will you respond to it all of you. A half hour or an hour before the morning lesson I prepare that ahead of time maybe I'm not so successful in that, but this is my very meticulous preparation. I think about this and I bring this to all of you as prepared, like birds bring something back to the nest

S. It is really felt that's why when we define those meetings in the middle of a day should we as a ten, listen to a few minutes of the morning lesson, to me it is more essential than Rabash.

R. That is true also so it seems to me that throughout the day a person can listen here and there to the morning lesson to what we talked about in the background as he walks and as he eats or works, or just at home there are minutes where he can sound it and listen, today you have all sorts of devices, maybe not the whole morning lesson but maybe the first hour, so do that. When is it ready for download?

S. The first hour is ready the moment the lesson ends.

R. So you can download it.

S. Yes.

R. So download it and use it.

S. This is what we are doing but I have earphones all day, this is when I am with myself I am speaking that I have a need with my ten when I meet them in the middle of the day, a few minutes to listen to it part of the lesson that it will live between us in the ten is that good?

R. That is good also, that is something different altogether it is a group action where deliberately you all listen together in order to receive it and utilize it, actualize it so that it clothes in all of you, I respect that greatly as well. You can do that. But to do it instead of reading a whole article, I don't know.

S. That is the question.

R. I don't know, it seems to me that it's not that... 5 minutes are sufficient, try it because I don't want to decide.

S. Five minutes there is a team that prepares little bites for like little birds and for 5 minutes that is okay?

R. Yes and later we'll see maybe you need more but the fact that we read Rabash, this enters into us and builds us from within in a different way a more generalized way in terms of our direction and our breadth.
