461. “They made me keeper of the vineyards,” for I am one dot, which guards the rest of the letters, who were punctuated in me, and I will guard them, since she carries the screen of Hirik that unites right and left, and from whose unification emerged all the letters. For I am going in all the letters, and they all expanded in me, both through illumination of Hochma, which Malchut shines from below upward, and through the screen of Hirik that she is its carrier.
462. “But my own vineyard I have not kept,” for I have no expansion downwards, or a branch, neither to the right, Hassadim, nor to the left, Hochma. Had I not stretched out branches downward, I would have incorporated you within me and held you within me. But I did not guard, did not stretch out branches to any side in the world. “I kept” means keeping a branch, that I did not guard that a branch would expand from me.
463. The letter Yod is the house of Israel. She was inherited from a high dot, as it is written, “For the vineyard of the Lord of hosts is the house of Israel,” which is why they are called “vineyard” after her. She said about this, “I did not keep my own vineyard,” meaning I did not extend branches to any side in the world, to hold you.
464. “And I guard the vineyard” has different letters, that I send and extend branches to all the letters, and they were established from within me with illumination of Hochma, which shines from below upward, and in the screen of Hirik in her. And my own letter, I did not extend branches in it, to shine downward, and this is why “Do not see me,” you will not be able to look at me and enter me.
465. All this is because she is the letter Hey, which is incorporated in her unification to rise up to ZA, and she does not need to be entered into.
Malchut in the first state is called Dalet, indicating that she is meager and poor. Malchut in the second state is called Hey, indicating that she is in a coupling with ZA, filled with abundance.
All the diminutions in the Yod, where she cannot expand neither to Hassadim nor to Hochma, are because now she is in the second state, the state of Hey, and she must be incorporated in the unification of ZA and rise up to him. She does not need to be entered into, to receive from her in her place, before she ascends to a coupling with ZA. For this reason, she is in her place, in two diminutions, so as to be left alone to go up and make a coupling with ZA.
466. This is because in her own unification, Malchut is the point of internality in the camps, who are the angels in BYA and NRN people, and all the camps are in yearning to approach her. When she says, “I am black,” “Do not see me,” she is hidden from them and rises to be entertained above, which is after she has ascended and the camps have left her.
467. It is hard for her to rise to ZA since the camps do not leave her for even a minute, as they want to suckle from him illumination of Hochma. When she is in the letter Yod in the two diminutions in her, she is incorporated in herself alone and says, “I am black.” At that time, the camps leave her against their strong desire to adhere to her, and Malchut slips from them and rises up to ZA and tells her lover, “Tell me, you whom my soul loves.”
468. The innovations in the Torah that the righteous say, they draw them from the root of their soul above. The root of Rabbi Shimon is in Daat of ZA. Hence, all his innovations in the Torah are from ZA. The root of Elijah is in Malchut; hence, his innovations in the Torah are from Malchut.
