55. The Hotem of AA, with this Hotem, the spirit of life for ZA blows in the hole of the window in it. The letter Hey is dependent on this Hotem, in the hole of the window, in order to sustain another Hey below. That Ruach comes out from the concealed Moach, and is called the “spirit of life.” In this spirit, they are destined to know wisdom at the time of the Messiah King, as it is written, “And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding.” That Hotem is life from every side, complete joy, contentment, and healing. It is written about the Hotem of ZA, “smoke went up from his nose,” and here it is written, “And I will restrain My praise for you.”
The two eyes and the nose are HGT, three lines. You find that the Hotem, Tifferet, unites the two lines HG, which are the two eyes. The bestowal does not come from the two lines in the edges, but from the middle line, which unites them and incorporates the right line and the left line. It follows that the illumination of Hochma in the eyes is revealed in the right and left in the nose.
It is also known that the right and left of the middle line are ZA and Malchut, where the right in it are HGT NHY, and the left in it is Malchut. As it is in Daat, so it is in Tifferet. This is the meaning of the two holes in the nose, in the middle line: The right hole in it is ZA, and the left hole in it is Malchut.
In this Hotem, in the hole in the window in it, in the right hole in the Hotem, blows the spirit of life to ZA, bestowing to ZA the spirit of wisdom, the spirit of life, since the light of Hochma is called the “light of Haya.” Every phase receives from its corresponding phase in the upper one. Hence, ZA below receives from the phase of ZA in the Hotem.
The letter Hey, Malchut is dependent on this Hotem, in the hole in the window, in the left hole in the Hotem. The left in the Hotem is Malchut, to sustain another Hey below, meaning the Malchut below receives illumination of Hochma from this Malchut that is incorporated in Hotem. This is the incorporation of the left eye in the Hotem.
That spirit emerges from the hidden Moach since the eyes are illumination of Hochma, which is received from HS, and the Hotem is Malchut, to sustain the other Hey below. That is, Malchut below receives the illumination of Hochma from this Malchut, which is incorporated in Hotem, which is the incorporation of the left eye in the Hotem.
That spirit emerges from the concealed Moach, since the eyes are illumination of Hochma, received from HS, and the Hotem is the incorporation of the eyes. For this reason, it is called the “spirit of life,” since the light of Hochma is called the “light of Haya,” as it is written, “Wisdom [Hochma] sustains its owner.” That Hotem is life from every side, since even the right of Hotem is also light of Hochma because the right and the left are incorporated in one another.
It is written about the Hotem of ZA, “Smoke went up from his nose,” where all the judgments gather. Here it is written, “and I will restrain My praise for you.” “Restrain” comes from the word Hotem [in Hebrew], to block the wrath in the Hotem and lengthen his nose [expression: be more patient]. “Praise” is the light of Malchut, which connects to the hole of the left of the Hotem and detains the judgments from being revealed.
56. The letter Hey, Malchut, receives from the Peh of AA. However, here, Malchut does not connect to the Peh of AA, but to the left hole of the Hotem. Although it rises in one, judgments are dependent on the Hey, as it is a lower Hochma, which shines with judgments, and judgment is dependent on the Hotem, in the Hochma that is bestowed from the Hotem, as it is written, “Smoke went up from his nose.” It is written, “And consuming fire from his mouth”; are there judgments in the mouth, as well? However, the anger depends primarily on the Hotem, since from there Hochma is bestowed.
