399. When the Creator created Adam HaRishon, He brought him to the Garden of Eden with one garment of honor of the light of the Garden of Eden, and he was completed in it with a holy spirit and soul, to be completely whole.
400. He and his woman would stroll in the Garden of Eden with high angels around them, delighting them with several delights and pleasures. He opened for him a treasure and showed him there all the future generations, each and every generation. He saw high forms and low forms that the light of the shining mirror would shine on.
401. The woman of harlotry, the serpent, went down, and the one who was riding and controlling her, the heartless, the evil inclination that incites everyone. They saw the high honor that Adam and his woman were in. The woman of harlotry grew stronger in the power and might of the one who controls her, and approached Eve. She began to tempt her with several seductions and some sweet words until she was tempted. Afterwards, Adam was tempted and those garments fled from him, and the soul, which is the brightness of the mirror of above, departed from him and he remained bare from everything, he and his woman.
402. Since after he was expelled from the Garden of Eden, he reflected on repentance and existed outside the Garden of Eden, the Creator pitied him and made him other garments, as one should use in this world, and then he copulated outside the Garden of Eden and bore children.
403. That brightness of the upper soul that fled from him rose up and became concealed in a treasure called Guf [body] until he bore children, and Enoch [Hanoch] came about. When Enoch came, that upper brightness of the holy soul descended in him, and Enoch was of the same upper Gadlut [greatness/adulthood] that Adam was in, as it is written, “And Enoch walked with God.”
404. Afterwards, the Creator had to take him from this world and incorporate the holy spirit of Enoch from below, from this world, and from above, from the angels, and everything was incorporated in that holy spirit. That holy spirit was incorporated from below and from above in order to draw the whole world after him, each kind after its kind, for it has the power to pull the upper ones since he is from above, and he has the power to draw people, since he is below.
405. When he was incorporated, he became an appointee in this world and in the upper world. He controlled in this world, through that incorporation that he was incorporated with this world. He controlled in the upper world through that incorporation that he was incorporated with the upper world.
This world is posterior Mochin; the upper world is anterior Mochin and contains both kinds of these Mochin.
406. Whenever there are righteous and pious [Hassidim] ones in the world, that incorporation that he was incorporated from below, from the side of Enoch, is renewed in him. At that time, he is a youth, in the renewal of the moon, who returns to her beginning each month. This is the meaning of what is written, “Educate the boy according to his way; even when he grows old, he will not stray form it.” “According to his way” means according to the way of Enoch, to walk in that path of truth on the straight and complete path.
407. “Even when he grows old” means that even when that form of Enoch grows old, for it has already been a long time since the time he was incorporated in the holiness, do not say that he is old from many days and was removed from that place, since it is not so. Rather, whenever there are righteous and pious ones in the world, that incorporation of his side is renewed and seen in that very form of a boy. It does not move from him. And because of that incorporation of below and of above, the lower ones inherit from the dew of His high potion, and the inheritance of the greatness of Kedusha descends to the world.
