Reading item 10. (00:18) “Come and see the words of the sage Rabbi Even...” 

1. S. (07:26) It is written that one must seek advice that will bring him to love Him until he is rewarded with the Creator opening the eyes of his heart and renewing in his heart a different spirit. What does it mean that the Creator opens the eyes of his heart?

R. That he’ll be able to feel what is going on, really in nature around him in the Shechina, how it affects him, how he himself responds to it, he wants to see his attitude towards the Creator and the Creator's relation back to him. That's what's important for him.

2. S. (08:15) In item 155 we learned that even though they don't understand what they're learning by reading they we awaken the lights, and something happens to them.

R. Yes.

S. Here he says the opposite, it's not going to help you. What's the point of reading a medicine book you don't understand anything about it? You will also not understand anything at the end of the way, is this how it works or not?

R. You don't read a medicine book.

S. That's what I'm asking, what is he explaining to us with this example because I didn't understand. Because we learn even if we don't understand just by engaging in this material gradually something will happen in us, a change?

R. No.

S. Then?

R. Only if you intended to it. If you develop your intentions to enjoy the book meaning to take it in, take the wisdom in.

S. In other words what is missing for someone is reading a medicine book that he doesn't understand, what he needs is the intention?

R. Yes, a desire, intention.

S. That's what he meant in this piece?

R. Yes, alright keep going.
