Part 3:

Baal HaSulam. A Handmaid Who Is Heir to Her Mistress

Reading (00:14 - 00:34) “This requires a thorough explanation. To make it clear to all, I will choose to interpret the matter”

Reading (00:45 - 02:26) “Internality and Externality - The thing is that the upper roots extend their power by cascading until their branches appear in this world,..”

1. R. (02:32) That's what’s written, it’s still not clear what he wants to say but that's what he's written.

Reading (02:38 - 04:03) “.The Evolution of Israel (Internality)—One at a Time - This abundance will come to us only by developing one at a time….”

Reading (04:04 - 06:34) “Evolution of the Nations of the World (Externality)—at Once - Opposite them are illuminations that can act only at once;...”

Reading (06:45 - 07:27) “The Internality Are the People of Israel - Once we have clarified the upper roots, we will clarify the branches in this world. …”

2. R. (07:28) Meaning that there's a group that can activate all of humanity to advance towards the same goal.

Reading (07:41 - 08:30) “The Externality Are the Nations of the World - The branch that extends from the externality is the rest of the nations....”

3. R. (08:31) That's clear, that relation between internality and externality and the structure of the world and how they affect one another.

4. S. (08:54) It says that “I place upon them a king such as Haman and against their will, they will repent”, how does Rav see in today's reality?

R. I don't see it for now, for now I can say that we actually see what is written here, that it’s taking place; maybe in a part, yes in a partial manner, but not entirely, not even in a small bit of it.

S. We saw a king as Haman, how about to destroy us?

R. Well, we can say that, who knows?

5. S. (09:49) He writes that “the internality are the people of Israel”, and yesterday I heard that there's no connection between internality and the people of Israel or I couldn't understand the order: what is internality, what is externality, who is Bnei Baruch, who is the corporeal people of Israel, is there a connection there or not, what is the order connection?

R. Obviously there's some connection between ‘root and branch’ but still is not clear in this world.

S. What does that mean?

R. It is not clarified, yet; where can you say that you have the nation of Israel, none.

S. Let's say, if we see this, why do we reach the phenomenon called ‘anti-Semitism’?

R. That was already the first [Hebrew for ‘blow’] that was against Jews was in the year twenty or twenty-eight or thirty, AD, meaning two thousand years ago, and what?

S. So if there's no connection between that and the corporeal people of Israel?

R. I cannot answer that, I can’t answer that.

S. Why?

R. Because there are things that are still not clarified.

6. S. (11:34) What does it mean that “Israel, different from the nation of the world, can receive the conducts of development one at a time?

R. That depends on how we define Israel, if it's Israel, it’s Yashar El, those who are directed towards the Creator, no matter who they are, what they are, white, like Baal HaSulam writes in a different place, that there's no difference between them. Then we should say that Israel is each and every one if from birth or from some case in their live, he got a desire to come closer to the Creator and from that decides to develop; and the nations of the world are those that did not receive, or do not want to receive, don’t want to develop in a direction towards the Creator, that’s it.

7. S. (12:59) These illuminations that come from the Tree of Knowledge, can we ever know if ‘the fruit is ripe’, or when ‘the fruit is ripe’?

R. Of course we will know them but the question is, when?

8. S. (13:45) We in Bnei Baruch are working towards the general purpose of creation?

R. Yes, somewhat, we are.

9. S. (14:12) Is the task of our small group to teach humanity how to be happy?

R. Yes, of course and we will do it.

10. S. (14:42) How can we help in order to accelerate the connection of Israel, we as the world Kli because it seems like the correction is gradual?

R. We have talked about it, there is no such thing as Israel, Israel is Yashar-El, one who aims towards the Creator. That's why there's no such nation or humans, it’s all in this world, everybody's confused. But each and every person that wants to come closer to the Creator is called Yashar- El, Yisrael, and that’s it. So, we will take a few steps towards it and then we will feel that we are doing that action of ‘Israel’.

11. S. (15:56) What does it mean, “the internality and externality of the world”?

R. The ‘internality’ are desires and the ‘externality’ are the expressions, and it also happens otherwise.

S. How does it then acquire such a form where the nations of the world are considered externality of the world and Israel are the internality of them?

R. It is constantly in that inner part which is more important, and which comes from it is the external and since Israel is responsible for filling the light with the upper world, they are the inner part, as opposed to the nations who receive, and they are called the external part.

S. What does it mean that we are in charge of the filling of the world?

R. According to the way we behave, which desire we are raising to the Creator from us and we are asking Him to fill it; and, according to that the Creator works and fills that desire.

S. By raising a desire it influences the world and fills it?

R. Of course, the same thing with every person in the world, just their desires are small, clear?

12. S. (17:40) I can say that in the upper system, people with the point in the heart, GE of the GE, people from the corporeal, people of Israel are AHP of the GE?

R. It is almost right.

.

13. S. (18:11) In the article there's an excerpt that says that “not only the primary goal is attained this way but also the corporeal goal that is only the preparation for the main degree, is attained in the form of gradual and slow development”. The question is, what is that corporeal goal that is only the preparation for the main goal?

R. The fact that we are lifting ourselves through science, art and so on, we are raising ourselves, bringing us closer, until we eventually reach a degree that will acknowledge that it’s necessary that we also become closer internally.

14. S. (19:05) It says here, “Hence when they received dominion from their root, they will destroy the virtues and the children of Israel and cause suffering in the world”, what does it mean, what does it mean that “they will destroy the virtues in the children of Israel”?

R. In according to as much as they can awaken the deficiencies from ‘the sons of Israel’, ‘the sons of Israel’ are the ones who have a tendency toward it. Let's say like you or a few more friends in the groups, from the Turkey group and more, they have a tendency for it, they want to discover it, to attain it. So this tendency to reach the Creator, to connect to Him, to be filled from Him, that is called, ‘Israel’, Yashar-El.

15. S. (20:42) Why does it say that “the nations of the world eat the unripe fruit”?

R. Because they are not performing corrections, it’s people who don't want to perform corrections, they don’t have preparations for it so they yearn for the fruit itself, and then it turns out that they eat it when it's still on unripe.

16. S. (21:17) It says that “the nations of the world are qualified to receive the correction all at once and to its fullest”. For that they have to exert or it happens automatically?

R. They need to help as much as they can, those who are drawn to the Creator, and whenever, who are drawn to the Creator get a fulfillment, it will pass to the nations of the world, too.

17. S. (22:09) I understand that our definition for Israel are those who, what is the Jewish people and the people of Zion?

R. I don't know, that's not for now; I understand you, that you want to do what you want, but I have to do what I need, that's it!

18. S. (22:46) I want to reinforce my friends' questions: We understand Israel as the internality, not a group of people, but those who are aimed at the Creator. In this sense, how can we accelerate the process for Israel towards the purpose of creation?

R. Only through the connection between us and scrutiny, and advancing to that same goal as our forefathers chose.

19. S. (23:29) If the externality is an expression of the internality, what should we expect from the efforts in connection, is it a change or some external perception. Or it doesn't matter what is happening in internality or will some change come from the outside?

R. First of all, if we connect and are drawn to the Creator, we get more light that reforms; and, then we advance quicker to the goal and we don't fall into unpleasant states.

S. When the Creator pushes us in a way we can not overcome it and we discover in earnest that we have no power, does it mean we make room for the Creator?

R. We are advancing towards the purpose of creation, we’re already talking about it, we’re in this, but there's still a part of the path that we have to go through and understand and feel it and receive it, and that's already through closeness, it's on the horizon, we are coming close to it!
