Part 1: Baal HaSulam. The Last Generation

Reader: Hello, we are reading the writings of Baal Salaam, page 813 in the Hebrew edition, The Writings of The Last Generation: Introduction. You can find the study material in kabbalahgroup.info and the Arvut system, you can also send questions there. Anyone asking a question in the study hall is asked to stand up, hold the mic close to his mouth, and speak loudly and clearly.

Rav, before starting the study of the Writings Of The Last Generation, I want to update you and the friends around the world, what is the reason we chose to open with these writings in the first part of the lesson. It's been a long time since we studied these texts in depth. This is a treasure trove of material that Baal HaSulam is giving humanity. And in general, and we want to incorporate in it and go through it with you and go deep into it.

The other thing is, by the leadership of Mikhael Sanilevich, we're starting a larger process where we wish to take the writings of Baal HaSulam, and construct a vision, a manifesto. Our organization of the writings of Baal HaSulam for the entire generation, not simply a document, but to qualify ourselves. To think of other ways to disseminate to humanity as a whole, of course, in circles. And in the first stage, before going out, we wish to strengthen ourselves, the innermost circle, so it will be clear which force of connection we're going to use to go out. We wish to start this gradually in the lessons and then in other actions. And the writings of the last generation is the first shot in this.

M. Laitman: Well, with good timing, and I'm together with you.

Reader: So, we'll start the Writings Of The Last Generation, Introduction.

Reading Introduction: (02:12): “The Writings of the Last Generation.”

There is an allegory about friends who were lost in the desert, hungry and thirsty. One of them had found a settlement filled abundantly with every delight. He remembered his poor brothers, but he had already drawn far off from them and did not know their whereabouts. What did he do? He began to shout out loud and blow the horn, perhaps his poor, hungry friends would hear his voice, approach him, and come to that settlement that is filled with every delight.

So is the matter before us: We have been lost in the terrible desert along with all of humanity, and now we have found a great, abundant treasure, namely the books of Kabbalah in the treasure. They satisfy our yearning souls and fill us abundantly with lushness and contentment; we are satiated and there is more.

Yet, we remember our friends, who were left hopeless in the terrible desert. There is a great distance between us, and words cannot bridge it. For this reason, we have set up this horn to blow out loud so that our brothers might hear and draw near and be as happy as we are.

Know, our brothers, our flesh, that the essence of the wisdom of Kabbalah is the knowledge of how the world came down from its elevated, heavenly place, until it reached our ignoble state. This reality was necessary, as “the end of an act is in the preliminary thought,” and His thought acts instantaneously, for He needs no tools to work with as we do. Thus, we were emanated in Ein Sof [infinity] in utter perfection from the start, and from there we came to this world.

It is therefore very easy to find all the future corrections, which are destined to come, from the perfect worlds that preceded us. Through it we know how to correct our ways henceforth, like man's advantage over the beast, for the spirit of the beast descends, meaning sees only from itself onward, without the intellect or wisdom to look into the past so as to correct the future.

Man's advantage over it is that the spirit of man ascends into the past, and looks into the past as one looks in the mirror and sees one’s flaws so as to correct them. Similarly, the mind sees what it went through and corrects its future conducts.

Thus, beasts do not evolve; they are still in the same state in which they were created, for they do not have, as man does, the mirror by which to see how to correct things and gradually evolve. Man develops day by day until his merit is secured and sensed, and he will ride on the high planets.

But all this refers to the natures outside of us, the nature of our surrounding reality, our food and mundane affairs. For this, the natural mind is quite sufficient.

However, internally, in ourselves, although we do evolve a little, we evolve and improve by being pushed from behind through suffering and bloodshed, since we have no tactic by which to obtain a mirror to see inside the people who lived in past generations.

It is even more so regarding the interior of the souls and the worlds, and how they came down to such dreadful ruin as today’s, where we have no security in our lives. In the coming years, we will be subject to all sorts of slaughter and death, and all admit that they have no counsel to prevent it.

Imagine, for example, that some historic book were to be found today, depicting the last generations ten thousand years from now. As we feel, the lesson from the suffering and torment will certainly be enough to reform them in good orders.

And these people have before them good orders, sufficient to provide security and complacency, and at the very least, to guarantee their daily lives in peace and quiet.

There is no doubt that if some sage would offer us this book about the wisdom of statesmanship and personal conduct, our leaders would seek out every counsel to arrange life accordingly, and there would be “no outcry in our broad places.” Corruption and the terrible suffering would cease, and everything would come peacefully to its place.

Now, distinguished readers, this book lays here before you in a closet. It states explicitly all the wisdom of statesmanship and the conducts of private and public life that will exist at the end of days, meaning the books of Kabbalah [in the manuscript, next to the text beginning here, it was written, “They are the perfection preceding the imperfection”]. In it, the corrected worlds that emerged with the perfection are set, as it says, perfection emerges first from the Creator, then we correct it and come to the perfection that exists in the upper world, emerging from Ein Sof, as in “the end of an act is in the preliminary thought.” Because the incomplete extends gradually from the complete, and there is no absence in the spiritual, they all remain existing and depicted in their complete perfection, in particular and in general, in the wisdom of Kabbalah.

Open these books and you will find all the good orders that will appear and the end of days, and you will find within them the good lesson by which to arrange mundane matters today as well, for we can learn from the past and by this correct the future.

M. Laitman: This is the beginning of the book of “The Last Generation,” in which Baal HaSulam turns to people who come in to study and apply the writings of the last generation, the laws of the last generation. Because they have all reached, already, such a development that this is what we see ahead of us. Questions?

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (13:23) What is that mirror that he says that if you look at it, you can figure out the direction and make conclusions?

M. Laitman: We will see that later. I don't know, I don't know.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (13:46) He specifies here that the spirit of the beast doesn't want to look into the past and it's only busy in this moment. And a person can look back and learn from the books of Kabbalah how to correct. And we see anyone who has a point in the heart and meets this, understands there's nothing else to engage in, even in all the wisdoms of humanity. And that's a question: How do we bring such a thing to someone without a point in the heart? It seems like no matter how many blows, there's no one to talk to about this particular thing.

M. Laitman: Yes because you eventually turn to the heart of the person. And if his heart is not ready, it did not develop, then there is no one to talk to.

Student: That's how it's arranged from the beginning?

M. Laitman: This is why we are called the last generation, and this comes out of the fact of the state that we're in.

Student: Is there a bridge we can build because everyone needs it even those without a point in the heart need this thing, all of humanity needs it. Isn't there some bridge we can build, or only those with a point in the heart can hear this and that's it?

M. Laitman: No, not only people with a point in the heart, eventually, this will be suitable for everyone, but gradually. First, those who have the purpose of creation burning in their hearts, and more and more. But it has to happen gradually, just like anything that evolves. We will read about it, we will talk about it. And the most important is that we want to be in the last generation and it will be revealed in us. We already see how much we ourselves, the people of Israel, are in a state that is hopeless and there's no way out. We should try to understand, feel, and take upon ourselves those states and laws that this speaks about.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (16:40) Who are the friends that he's speaking of that we remember from the desert? Who are those friends?

M. Laitman: I can't say but it seems to me that these are the same people that were with us and left to look for something else. We will see them, how much they are going to come back.

Student: He talks about a horn. The horn is what we study here, the books of Kabbalah?

M. Laitman: Yes. Everything that draws us towards the purpose of our existence is called a horn, Shofar.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (17:39) It says here, open these books and you'll find all the good orders that will appear at the end of days. What does it mean that we open these books and we find all the good orders? What does it mean for us?

M. Laitman: That we need to open the books of Kabbalah and try to find in them, this order and the entrance, and the set of laws that we need to study. And try to adapt ourselves to them and advance in such a way.

Student: When I open the books, I find things that are internal, that relate to the connection between us.

M. Laitman: Yes?

Student: And not necessarily external orders, it looks more distant. How can we approach it so we will also find those external orders?

M. Laitman: We will find them, we will find them.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (19:04) He writes, and I will call out using this horn that can collect everyone and start studying the books and begin to set the world to a scale of merit. It sounds like you don't need to collect the whole world. Only those few virtuous people they will correct the entire world.

M. Laitman: Yes, this is how it happens gradually. Yes, first come the people who feel in their hearts how important this process is and nothing else is left for humanity except to get closer to each other and strengthen each other. And then others will follow.

Student: It doesn't sound like everyone has to study these books, only those virtuous, they will make the correction for the whole world?

M. Laitman: It's according to the desire and the desire is in the hands of the Creator. Those who feel themselves that they have a desire, an inclination and that they are yearning for nearness with people and the nearness of the Creator within them. Such a person is already considered a chosen one.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (20:49) It says it's easy to find all the future corrections from the perfect worlds that preceded us and from that we'll know how to correct our own ways. The question: We are all undergoing correction but there's a part that attains the correction. And He passes it down to the collective, so we have to attain a part of the correction, as he says, these perfect worlds.

M. Laitman: Yes?

Student: The question is the process of adaptation from what's attained, how does it descend down below?

M. Laitman: We will see these together, we will discover it. All in all, it's all ahead of us.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (22:02) First of all, I wish to thank the Creator for allowing us to start this process through our dear friend, it's very moving. A question: What is this inability to look at the past and understand what's corrected, today? It seems like simple logic but it's even the other way around, we look at the past and we attain worse conclusions. What is this confusion about?

M. Laitman: I don't know, look, we just read it once, don't you think that if you read it once, already, you can understand about the past? We need to check it but the fact that we have questions, that is good.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (22:51) The end of the action is in the preliminary thought, then it explains there's a process of development, a cascading down of the world, and from that we know what needs to be corrected. I think the main problem in our dissemination is, how can you explain that there is a purpose for creation? Even just as an idea, not to realize it at first.

M. Laitman: If they are in a stage of development that is less than that, then you cannot explain it.

Student: Because he seemingly turns to everyone here, not just points.

M. Laitman: Yes, he turns to everyone, but among this everyone, there are those who can feel the importance in the human evolution and how to be part of that. And there are those who are impervious to it.

Student: Meaning, we never find proof in our world, you can't tell someone without a point in the heart that there's a purpose of creation, a role, or chosen people. You can't explain it.

M. Laitman: You can talk to everyone but, along with that, you will discover that only a particular part of the general public are impressed by it.

Student: And that's how it will be, how it should be?

M. Laitman: As much as we advance towards the corrections, towards the end of correction. Apparently, this part of the public will be revealed more.

Student: That's a question, does it depend on us, on our explanation? To become skilled in study, or there's nothing to do, we just need to say it. The words of Baal HaSulam says that whoever gets it, gets it. Or it does depend on our skill and how well we explain it, or both?

M. Laitman: Hardly, not at all, it hardly depends on us. But rather it depends on the extent that the public is ready.

Student: It depends more on the audience and less about the words we'll find?

M. Laitman: Yes, we can see in all times how much only unique individuals from the general public approached the wisdom of Kabbalah. The method of correction, it was truly, and Rabash also spoke in such a way.

Student: I see that here in the Introduction, it doesn't talk about nature. It simply says the Creator, the world of Ein Sof. These kind of concepts that, he says it, directly.

M. Laitman: Well, such concepts are actually familiar and known to everyone. However, only those who see, in this, the purpose of their lives, they will already be able to receive from it a lot more. It is all according to the deficiency of the person.

Student: From our part, how can we prepare ourselves besides becoming people of attainment, which is the best preparation? Maybe then we can explain, or even when we become, when we attain, it won't help us explain, necessarily.

M. Laitman: The question is, actually, to what extent is our generation ready? And Baal HaSulam says that we actually are in the last generation, what is the last generation? From where, until when, and until when, maybe it's a thousand years. And so, as much as you may want it, to do something in the beginning of this period of time, you will see that it doesn't work.

Student: I'm asking from our side, what is the best way to qualify ourselves to become an infrastructure for that last generation? How do you see it?

M. Laitman: Our training is that we need to study the writings of Baal HaSulam, everyone, all of them. And see which of them and in what order, we can serve them to our generation. There is nothing special here.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (27:44) I wanted to ask, so, it works out that the spreading of the wisdom depends on the generation. How prepared is the generation for receiving the wisdom? So, what does the Kabbalist do all the time, if it all depends on the generation?

M. Laitman: The Kabbalist prepares himself and the group of Kabbalists, his friends he studies with them. And he awakens the upper force so that it would take care of people.

Student: This caring for people, this work towards the world, does it come to the Kabbalist? Or they have to constantly go out to the world? How does it work, this mechanism because it sounds like if they're not prepared, nothing you'll do will have any impact?

M. Laitman: Yes, again?

Student: My question, again: From what I hear from you, the expansion of the wisdom depends on the preparedness of the generation, to receive it, to absorb it.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: Now, if everything depends on the generation, what do the Kabbalists do?

M. Laitman: The Kabbalists direct the generation towards the goal.

Student: The Kabbalists, is it within their ability to hasten the preparedness of the generation that can change that?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: He writes here, throughout the entire introduction, he writes about the books of Kabbalah. These books that were left for us, they lead everyone everywhere. On what depends on the destination to which the book will lead you?

M. Laitman: According to the intentions of the reader: How do you want the book to influence you?

Student: How do you make the books of Kabbalah lead you according to the thought of the Kabbalists who wrote them?

M. Laitman: According to the desire that you prepare in your heart.

Student: The desire in my heart will determine whether or not I'll be able to reach what Baal HaSulam aimed for in his writing?

M. Laitman: Yes, because this is your prayer. This is the prayer.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (31:00) He writes, know our brothers that the wisdom of Kabbalah is all about the cascading of the world from its heavenly origin to our ignoble reality. And this reality was necessary because the end of the act is in the preliminary thought. If the end of the action is in the preliminary thought, and everything is predetermined, the only thing is that we don't know about it. There's no freedom.

M. Laitman: Yes, freedom from what?

Student: Meaning of choice, it's not like I'm choosing to do things but I will reach what was preplanned. Everything is predetermined.

M. Laitman: Yes?

Student: I just don't know about it, so it's new for me. Maybe the conclusion is simply to annul before it. If I believe it, to annul as much as possible before this guidance.

M. Laitman: Eventually, you're correct.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (32:17) He gives us an interesting definition for the books of Kabbalah. The wisdom of the countries and the orders of the individual and the public. What is the wisdom of the countries?

M. Laitman: The wisdom of statesmanship is groups of people who connect, who come together and build for themselves a certain closed society. And in this way, we have nations and countries upon the face of the earth.

Student: When we try to explain it, how do we build it, the wisdom of statesmanship and personal conduct. How do we build a common ground when we present it?

M. Laitman: That's not for now.

Student: Okay, not for now. Can I ask another question? About the history that he's writing about in the end. Does he refer to history in terms of Reshimo, records and all that, or general history?

M. Laitman: Apparently, the general history.

Student: We who wish to engage in corrections, we advance gradually.

M. Laitman: Yes?

Student: And what we're supposed to offer the collective, will be received by them all at once, as we learn about it elsewhere. The question is how do we connect these two things, if you can explain it a little bit. How these two things can find common denominator.

M. Laitman: I didn't understand.

Student: We engage in corrections, gradually, from the lightest to the heaviest. And when we need to come and offer to the collective, we need to offer to them a ready-made solution. That they accept all at once, not gradually. They don't have gradual development.

M. Laitman: So, we need to learn how to do it. We don't know that, yet.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (34:22) When we say hastening the times, is it about hastening the preparedness of the generation?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: So, how do Kabbalists hasten time?

M. Laitman: By preparing the generation each time for higher degree.

Student: How do you prepare the generation?

M. Laitman: By teaching them.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (35:05) I want to ask, I hope it's not out of place. We read this article many times, and now we're going for this new trajectory. Maybe the organizers can explain the mindset with which we need to read it. Whether we need to try to extract from it questions in all directions, how to absorb it spiritually. I want to know how to correctly aim myself to read it according to the trajectory we're in.

M. Laitman: We'll read it, and we'll see. Simply from reading it, we'll see, that's it.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (36:00) Baal HaSulam, and we also have the book called To See Good: A Collection of Excerpts. All the Kabbalists, and you, Rav, also said always just the writings, just the text, even if it's other students. But if you hold on to the writings of the Kabbalists, then it's not that it's enough for us. But there's a virtue there, a Segula, a remedy.

M. Laitman: I didn't understand what you said.

Student: Baal HaSulam, here, gives a solution to each and every thing. He says, open these books, the books of Kabbalah, you'll find a solution there. And Kabbalists from all generations always told us to open the books of Kabbalah because this is the solution for everything. So, there are two things that I want to ask about: Until now, there were books of Kabbalah that talked about the worlds. If not for Baal HaSulam that opened everything for us, even things that have to do with this world, until now, the books of Kabbalah talked about the upper worlds.

M. Laitman: So.

Student: Okay, so which books? I mean, you tell us to open the books of Kabbalah.

M. Laitman: The books of Baal HaSulam, this is the main thing we need to open and study.

Student: Okay, among others, in the books of Kabbalah, we also have the books of the wisdom of Baal HaSulam talking about the Sefirot, and the upper worlds, and all of these things.

M. Laitman: Those are, also, books of Kabbalah?

Student: So, my question is, if many people will start to read these books, will that help in any way?

M. Laitman: Certainly, it will help.

Student: If common people will start to study the Zohar or TES, this will help?

M. Laitman: Certainly, yes.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (38:02) I'd like to add to this question. He says, imagine to yourselves if today you could find a book of history that would depict you the last generations, the situation 10,000 years later. And he adds the lesson from the suffering and the bloodshed would reform them. So, he mentions the holy books as a remedy for the suffering, right?

M. Laitman: Yes, yes.

Student: We don't need to present the wisdom of Kabbalah as if you need to come and study but rather you get a cure, here.

M. Laitman: The wisdom of Kabbalah is designed for humanity, to explain to humanity, where it needs to advance to. Why on each and every step it meets suffering and blows. And how by studying the wisdom of Kabbalah we can rise above the blows and come to a life that the wisdom of Kabbalah promises us.

Student: Yes, I'm just asking about the form in which we can serve it to a person who has no linkage to the Creator, no desire to learn about these things but he is suffering. His ego doesn't allow him to have a good, corrected life with the family or anything.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: So, we should present it as a remedy, as a cure.

M. Laitman: A remedy.

Student: So, the points in the heart, all they do is serve it, they need to just make the connection, to connect him to this thing. But for him, it's just a cure, nothing beyond that. He's reading in order to receive a remedy for his life.

M. Laitman: Okay, I agree. What's next?

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (40:14) He writes here, and we should be ready for all kinds of slaughters and bloodshed in the upcoming years until everyone admits that humanity has no other counsel. What does it mean that everyone will admit it, who are they?

M. Laitman: Who are they, our generation; our generation needs to be the generation that reveals the upper light as the light of the Messiah, who pulls us from our state to the highest degree.

Student: This means that the moment that everyone understands it, it's very important that we will come out and publicize the solution.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (41:15) The point in the heart that has awakened in us, it's like Abraham suddenly discovered in Babylon, that something has to be done in order to go towards bestowal.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: And we need to start to go through this entire process of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and go down to Egypt, come out of Egypt, receive the Torah, and do this together with the whole world, now?

M. Laitman: No. The whole world doesn't need to come out, we don't need to come out of Egypt and practice the way the Torah describes it to us. We just need to discover who are we, what are we relative to the end of correction. What are we lacking in order to reach the end of correction.

Student: But now we're like the kind of Abraham that is discovering the Creator.

M. Laitman: I don't know, I can't imagine Abraham being in his place next to him.

Student: What is special about the point in the heart in all of us now, what's in it?

M. Laitman: It wants to break free from the rule of our ego.

Student: And after we take that step, how do we come out of the ego, then?

M. Laitman: That's something else.

Student: Then, what do we start to go through? Where are we on the spiritual map? What is the next thing we go through?

M. Laitman: Then we begin to climb.

Student: To ascend from where?

M. Laitman: From our state.

Student: But where are we in spirituality?

M. Laitman: In the black point.

Student: What is the black point?

M. Laitman: The black point, we are in the world to receive in order to receive, the vessel is broken. We have no connection with sanctity, with spirituality, and only through our prayer, can we begin to climb.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (43:29) It's not clear, what does it mean to learn from the past? What is there to learn from the past?

M. Laitman: As much as we can learn from what we heard from the Torah, the order of what we went through, that's what we need.

Student: But with respect to us what does it mean to learn from the past? If something went by, it went by. It was corrected, we keep going on, what should we take from it?

M. Laitman: The moral of the story, perhaps? To know where we were, where we came to. And how from the current state we can move forward.

Student: But if we don't have that point that we know where we want to reach?

M. Laitman: We know. Until the end of correction.

Student: How? I mean, where is it?

M. Laitman: It's written about this, the end of correction is when we all feel ourselves connected, in one connection, in one group. The Creator is guiding us to the highest degree.

Student: Yes, but seemingly, let's say, from the past you can take something that you don't need to use. For example, they invented carts, now we have vehicles. So, you don't need to go and see how they invented wagons, carts, it's not relevant anymore, it's done. But from the future, we have nothing besides saying that this is how it needs to be. I have no depiction of something that I can hold on to.

M. Laitman: You need to open your heart and its deficiency, and to try and adhere it to everything that's happening with the last generation, the purpose of creation. And check it, read it and try to cleave to it.

Student: How not to despair from the process?

M. Laitman: If you should despair, you despair, that’s your business.

Student: I don't despair for myself, but let's say, the end of creation is a thousand years from now. So, what can we tell such a generation?

M. Laitman: So, we advance, each and every year, we advance in that direction. Even though we can hasten the times, sanctify the times. We must move forward as much as possible, that's it.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (46:32) From the questions of the friends, it turns out that there should be a short explanation about how the desire evolved and how it got to know godliness, what is told. The Torah speaks about conquering the land of Israel, the First Temple, the Second Temple, and what are we going towards, the Third Temple. We should understand these things so, such an explanation is required; otherwise, it's not clear what is the historical sequence that we're on.

M. Laitman: Continue.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (47:41) I don't know if there's room to scrutinize it, but I want to say, what is the difference between the message of the religious world and the message that the Kabbalists are trying to tell us, here? In the religious world, they tell us that we received this life, we don't understand it but we, also, get some operating instructions along with that. So, if a person does whatever is written in the Torah and the commandments, he has these guiding instructions how to live in this world in a more balanced way. Here, Baal HaSulam says that in order to reach a life that is balanced and good, we need to see what is written in the books of Kabbalah and act accordingly. So, is there some way for us to be precise about the difference in the message between these two?

M. Laitman: You need to try, in general, to keep, to observe the Torah and the commandments, generally speaking. And together with that, each and every moment you need to keep the laws of the Torah, the connection with Godliness, that's it.

Student: I'm asking, less now, about the connection for us between internality and externality. I'm asking on the level of the explanation to the broad public, about the claim that there is a book of laws. If we adhere to it, then we will understand our life and reach a certain harmony in life.

M. Laitman: You understand nothing about it, rather, we're not against this book. You talk about the set table. Shulchan Aruch. That doesn't matter. And that's why we say that it's all correct and we need it as well. But in order to advance toward the correction of our lives, we need to reach a state where we know the laws of creation and we correct them. Correct it according to the laws of Kabbalah because these laws explain to us what are the qualities of the light that influences us from above. How does it come to us, how does it expand through us, and what we need to do in order to adapt ourselves to that light.

Student: And try a bit more in general, in religions in general, in the world. Religion says that there is some book of laws. If you keep it, your life will be comfortable and good and suitable for this world.

M. Laitman: That's religion.

Student: Right, what is the fine difference between that and what Kabbalah says?

M. Laitman: Kabbalah says that in order to do what's required of you in this world, you need to scrutinize the desire of the Creator and obey it.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (51:25) How can we bring the public something about correction if there is not even one thing from this in my own private, personal correction? I'm becoming a more terrible person, every day, how can I bring them something about the correction, to people, to the public?

M. Laitman: How to bring something to people for correction, day in, day out?

Student: Every time I sit and I try to write something, I just discover how far I am from correction.

M. Laitman: Okay, fine.

Student: How can I bring them something about the correction?

M. Laitman: Pray.

Student: This is good for my benefit in my work in the societies, that I'm a black dot?

M. Laitman: The fact that from your black point you're turning to the Creator and you're asking Him to correct you.

Student: So, not to do anything towards the public? Just for me, I'm asking?

M. Laitman: Try to do what's written in the books. It's called, “Love your friend as yourself,” and other things like that.

Student: Maybe, I started even closer than that than what I see of myself now. I don't see anything about love inside of me but this is the goal, of course.

M. Laitman: There's no other way, that's what you have to do. That's what I have to do as well, everyone.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (53:40) Sorry for asking you this way but the form in which it appears that this message will reach outside, let's say, it's very a priori. We look at all the reasons and we reach the conclusion. Is that correct?

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: So, how do we do it correctly so that the a priori statement won't sound as something religious? Or that we're now relating to the causes, we take the causes of the world and ascribe them to what we want to reach. But, rather we speak from the emotions, from the feelings.

M. Laitman: Go ahead speak from within your emotions, your feelings.

Student: I mean that anyone that will listen to us will feel that we actually care for them. That indeed, these things are important for us.

M. Laitman: Depends on how you turn to the person.

Student: Yes, but how do we develop such an appeal together to the public, that it would be felt?

M. Laitman: That depends on your proficiency, nothing else.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (54:55) Just to be precise if the explanation will be logical, is it going to work? Meaning, it will explain the wisdom of Kabbalah and what it wants better, if we turn logically? Compared to the explanation that comes from religions, which usually is not so logical. If we explain why is it good for a person to actually observe these things, will a logical explanation help, here? Or it doesn't need to be logical?

M. Laitman: No, typically it doesn't quite help, logic doesn't typically help. Once a person feels bad, he tosses out all the logic that brought him to his current state and he doesn't want to hear anything else.

Student: A person who still doesn't feel bitter or good, those people that we find it hard to reach them, because there's nothing in them. So, for them, logic does help?

M. Laitman: They don't need it, they feel good this way. They live day by day without any deficiencies they need to fill.

Student: We have no way to reach that layer?

M. Laitman: No, if a person has no deficiency that he feels that he has to quiet down, that he has to do something with it, how will you turn to him?

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (56:42) This article and the style of the writing of Baal HaSulam, it awakens a lot of emotion in me. Especially, in the beginning, when he actually explains why he even writes these texts. That he feels this lack and the pain in his brothers, and all the pain that is in the world, now. And now, he actually brings this medicine that he himself found, he wants to give it to his brothers. It's a feeling that, immediately, lowers the shields. So, why are we even reaching out to me because he opens himself up to me, and he says, look, I have this lack, I find this very beautiful.

Besides, I feel that now when we're reading it and many questions come up, it's like some sort of a spreading, like a cloud that needs to be clarified. How should we approach the reading and this whole process of reading these excerpts, lke the friend was asking before? The inner scrutiny, the intention, what is it that we want? How do we want to enter these manuscripts now so that we don't scatter but rather we can extract from them what he has placed in them?

M. Laitman: That's all according to our preparation, according to what we wish to extract from these articles; so, we'll receive them, receive it. That's why as much as we can feel how much we are in the end of the generations, the last generation as you call it. It can last many more years but it's already the last generation, and that's why we're going to reveal it, the more we enter into that generation.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (59:10) I heard another question from the friend, if I'm a black dot, not corrected, discover how I'm not corrected, not in attainment. What can I give the public, what can I give the generation, everyone around me?

M. Laitman: Approach the public, go together with it.

Student: Can a black dot give something to the public?

M. Laitman: No, but when it follows the path that it feels, it will certainly add to itself additional points like that, and more and more.

Student: What can we give the public, is it our inner force? Is it the words, is it the explanation? What do they receive?

M. Laitman: First of all, you need to understand that the public demands the right deficiency, the feeling of the right deficiency. The direction for the correction of the right deficiency, that's what the public wants. It doesn't want to jump to the end of the path, maybe there are a few who want it like a baby. But the public just wants to know where is it headed, to what is it joining?

Student: And what can we give them right now in their state?

M. Laitman: What we have to give? What Baal HaSulam writes, read it to everyone and teach the public what's going on, whether we are in a time called the last generation. What are the laws, the special laws that influence us, what should we do in order to discover the laws of the last generation, and so on and so forth.

Student: You said in the beginning of the lesson in answer to a friend, you said eventually, you just turn to a person's heart. And if the heart isn't ready and developed, there's nobody to talk to.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: So, how to awaken the heart of the generation?

M. Laitman: This is through our study, and dissemination. Altogether, we don't have much to do here. The Creator awakens the public.

Student: The Creator awakens the public, so then, as nice as we explain it?

M. Laitman: It will help.

Student: So, what will it help if the Creator awakens them?

M. Laitman: It will awaken the audience according to our help.

Student: In our work, we awaken the Creator to awaken the public?

M. Laitman: Also, correct, we're preparing the public to the Creator awakening them.

Student: Do we need to see results, some kind of advancement? Not for ourselves but to understand at what point there are, or how to work with them?

M. Laitman: Yes and no, meaning, we have to see if we're understanding, correctly, our role. We need to see whether we understand correctly our preparation, our task. We need to understand that.

Student: When I see people in a crisis, let's say in Israel, what should I tell myself? I'm guilty about this, I did something wrong?

M. Laitman: No, you need to see the situation, and see in what way you can benefit it.

Student: But this is a natural stage of development of the nation? Or is it a result of my lack of work?

M. Laitman: Natural development, and nevertheless, there's in this also our work.

Student: What does this generation, what can they hear? What are they capable of hearing right now, today?

M. Laitman: I don't know to tell you about the whole generation, but I know that we need to correct it. To care for it just like Baal HaSulam writes for us.

Student: Baal HaSulam writes everything from beginning to end. What you can take from Baal HaSulam is an ocean. What can you take from there for this generation? What can their ear hear now?

M. Laitman: Connection and dissemination of the connection, that's it.

Question (PT 6): (01:04:26) Are the writings of the last generation inviting to learn the laws of society? Or are they inviting people to learn the wisdom of Kabbalah?

M. Laitman: They invite people, usually, to study about the reason, the cause for the goal and the purpose of the generation. How we carry out the process in the development of the generation from the current point to the end of correction, altogether.

Student: What's written in the writings of the last generation towards the external public, isn't the entire wisdom of Kabbalah. But only a foundation, a purpose, or we should teach them everything?

M. Laitman: No, we need to teach what is necessary for him, for it, to come closer to the end of correction.

Student: Is it possible that the laws of the last generation will be passed from us to other systems and they will publish it? Or is it a must that the whole world will adhere to a group of Kabbalists?

M. Laitman: Those who show humanity the correct process is called a Kabbalist. So, that's what we need to do.

Student: It can be that a group that aren't Kabbalists, will pass this information on?

M. Laitman: No, they don't have it and they don't have a need, they don't feel a need for it.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (01:06:25) It might be a long question but. When Baal HaSulam writes or talks to me and everyone here, from the first moment they bump into Baal HaSulam's writings, there's one sensation, which is confidence. You see a person knows what he's talking about. Even when he asks questions, he also writes here, that the wisdom of Kabbalah is knowing how the world cascaded from the top to our lowliness. So, he passes something that every person needs, think any person, especially in this state we are in where everything is confused. He gives a feeling of confidence, even if you don't understand what he's talking about.

He says I see where it's all cascading from, I know how it got to this point. That's why I can show you the path, how to reach to the full, complete state. And I don't think any method, anyone has this. I'll give an example: when I see how one friend explains something to someone, he brings such confidence; it doesn't matter if a person doesn't understand, he says, oh, I guess this person knows what he's talking about, there's a force here. So, the question: In our path, we're full of doubts, internally. Here, too, we're asking questions and scrutinizing but when we go out, we have to be equipped with such an extent of confidence. How do you pass this confidence that Baal HaSulam gives, how can we acquire this ability?

M. Laitman: It doesn't depend just on us, it also depends on who hears it from you.

Student: Whoever hears today is confused because this whole world is falling apart.

M. Laitman: So, try to bring them such proofs that he will see that in you, yourself, there's no need for proof. You are completely knowing of what you are building and what you're passing on to everyone.

Student: I'm not asking about the rational part, we can invent or use words. I'm saying an inner confidence. You see, when he writes, he says, I see these things. I know it, come and see.

M. Laitman: Well, of course, we don't yet have that feeling of the end of the path, the end of correction, and so forth. And therefore, we are in a state that we cannot project such confidence.

Student: Maybe something similar to it, close to it?

M. Laitman: Similar to it, close to it, please? Incorporate it in your general public, in your group, and in the whole group of Bnei Baruch. And I think that that will be enough for you, for you to be able to talk to the whole world with confidence.

Student: When people come to like a Congress, like the event we had here a little while ago. They say the same thing from our first Congress, the first event we ever had years ago. They say the same thing: What order, what organization, what open hearts, what an inner force you have here? They don't know how to say in words, they try. They feel it's something true that we believe in, not even believe in, that we feel it.

M. Laitman: Correct.

Student: How can this sensation be brought to dissemination in every field? It seems that words don't talk to anybody. That there's a feeling that there's something true and confident here.

M. Laitman: We need to do such gatherings in which we will be impressed by them. We'll be filled by them and that's what we'll pass on to the audience.

Question (Women Turkiye 5): (01:11:40) What does past and future mean when we study in the Ten?

M. Laitman: Again?

Student: What does it mean past and future while working in the Ten?

M. Laitman: The past is what we were in, and how we reach their presence, and the present is the state that we feel right now. And the future is that we can somehow, from this current state and onward: past, present, future. These are the three points in a person's reality that he can somehow lean on.

Question (Latin 4): (01:12:51) It's written that even when we develop, we get pushed by suffering and bloodshed from behind. What does that bloodshed mean?

M. Laitman: Bloodshed is where we take from a person, the force of the life force, which is the upper light that's inside of him.

Question (H 10): (01:13:33) If I feel that I hurt someone in the past and he even tells it to me in an honest, open way. How can I correct it, how can I know exactly what to correct? What is the correction?

M. Laitman: Connection, correction is connection. You need to depict yourself to what extent you can adhere to that person to give him the feeling of confidence on the path. And that together, in your mutual support, you reach the goal.

Question (KabU 14): (01:14:21) What is the most critical thing for us as a society to fulfill our role as the last generation after you're no longer here to guide us? How do we make sure we're up to that task?

M. Laitman: Only connection; also now, and also for all times, only connection. We are already in the process of the last generation, and there's nothing to add, but to add in connection.

Question (Kyiv 1): (01:15:13) You said we have to pass a deficiency to people. The right deficiency. What does that mean that we're passing the right deficiency to people?

M. Laitman: It means that we're connecting to them, seemingly hugging them. By that which we wish to ourselves, we wish for them. This lack is passed from one to the other and this is how we begin more and more to incorporate in the direction towards the goal.

Student: Except for connecting them, what is the right deficiency, what am I showing them that I'm lacking?

M. Laitman: I'm only lacking a connection with them so that with them, I will reveal the Creator.

Question (Women Unity): (01:16:29) You said we need to scrutinize the Creator's desire and follow it. How do we scrutinize His desire?

M. Laitman: The desires of the Creator are based on our being shattered, separated from one another, and harmful to one another. And we just need to come closer to one another, this we need to evoke upon ourselves.

Question (Women Turkiye 4): (01:17:41) Does a person reach a state that he doesn't use his desire in his own experience? Or from the suffering he sees in the collective?

M. Laitman: I did not understand.

Student: Does a person reach a state where he doesn't use his desire, from his own private suffering’s experience? Or when he sees the suffering in the collective?

M. Laitman: Does anyone understand the question?

Student: She's asking if a person relinquishes his desire from his own suffering? Or from seeing suffering on the outside, in the world.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: Which of the both?

M. Laitman: Well, both of them, one does not cancel the other. Of course, the general suffering is, it sounds very big. The individual suffering, we somehow get over or go through.

Student: The second question: Is there a need to see my desire from the perspective of the others and decide how to implement it?

M. Laitman: Yes, yes, you're right.

Student: And the third question, if a person sees that the implementation of his desire will cause others damage. But he still can develop a different desire, so how can he get the forces to scrutinize his state?

M. Laitman: To the extent in which he opens, for himself, the correct result, the big, correct result from what he wants now. Accordingly, it will prevent from him the execution of actions that are not correct.

Question (Turkiye 2): (01:20:05) How can we pass the greatness of Bnei Baruch, that they are chosen? How can we pass the greatness of Bnei Baruch, the greatness, that they are chosen?

M. Laitman: Simply, because we have been studying for a long time, we are publishing all kinds of Kabbalistic writings, organizing all kinds of courses and training people on all the continents. This is possible to say that it's what we are, that's us.

Question (PT 13): (01:21:00) I want to add that we see we are doing a lot of work in the whole world, Kli. And after 20 years, we see that something awakened in Turkey, now we have a Turkish Kli. Can we say that all of the development of the public is a drop and another drop that comes from our work that we are working in order to develop? But it goes through this long process of another drop and another drop, and there's like an accumulation of all these drops. And afterward, there's like an explosion.

M. Laitman: A breach of sorts, yes. Correct, correct, you're right. That is the nature of how things develop, this blast, yes.

Question (CzechSlovak 1): (01:22:08) We are learning that Baal HaSulam is the basis for dissemination, that's clear, but the question is whether this information and articles are too high for people, now. You have written several books about Kabbalah that are easy for people to understand. The question is whether it is to concentrate on spreading this simple book, spreading Kabbalah, and then introduce Baal HaSulam to people, directly.

M. Laitman: What can you do, what books can you give them, first? It's only the writings of Baal HaSulam, he wrote there from A to Z, everything. And we're not allowed to replace this for something else; also, not to write books in place of that of our own, truly not.

Student: He was asking maybe about, maybe his articles are too difficult for the public.

M. Laitman: There's nothing you can do about that, the writings of Rabash, the writings of Baal HaSulam have no replacement, no. Just read them together, all these books, and explain this in a manner that is as nice and soft as possible until it will be observed.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (01:24:13) First of all, about this matter that it's not an intellectual thing, it's an emotional thing. Maybe we don't understand the depth of Baal HaSulam. We feel it gives us some nourishment. Now, we started the lesson by speaking about how to bring it to the nation, what the message should be. But should this actually go for the whole world? Well, it's a broad question but should the message, what does it mean to bring this message to all nations?

M. Laitman: I think that these articles of Baal HaSulam are like The Giving Of The Torah, The Last Generation, all of these, we can and we must advertise them in the broadest possible way to the whole world. And to explain in short, in what article of ours, what Baal HaSulam, actually, wants to do, what we want to do with one's vessels and these tools, and how we learn them. It should be ready for every person that is distant.

Student: In an article like Matan Torah, he talks about the nation of Israel. You said that we have to disseminate connection.

M. Laitman: Yes.

Student: If I understand and have to disseminate connection to the nations from the writings of Baal HaSulam, so somehow I have to pass connection that it will be suitable for the whole world. So, I shouldn't talk specifically of the nation of Israel, maybe yes, but talk about connection which is the essence of the writings, and that's what I pass on.

M. Laitman: No, we cannot spin these things, but rather, as it's written.

Student: So, let's say now there are groups like Turkey that want to pass the wisdom of Kabbalah to their nation. How to pass the essence of Matan Torah to their nation, how should they or what should they do?

M. Laitman: Only, if we accompany it with an explanation on our behalf; but not that we must pressure them and bring them to some translation that is unique and special.

Student: In one sentence: What should we pass to the whole world? What should they get from us?

M. Laitman: They need to receive what is written by Baal HaSulam and we need to add to this, our explanation. But it's not that we're replacing these writings with those writings.

Student: So, there's a gap we really have to work on?

M. Laitman: That all depends on what we write.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (01:28:32) We felt that for this study to be efficient, so, we'll take like a task upon ourselves in the Ten. Open some kind of, every Ten we'll read it separately, take out principles that they recognize. Prepare questions for the lessons. What do you think if we go into this daily thing compared to the writings of Baal HaSulam?

M. Laitman: Please, please? Talk, try to write some line-up, I don't know, and let's go.

Student: We thought by this we can gather all the principles of the friends. Put some document together from it, some vision. That, until our Congress in September we can reach something much more formulated.

M. Laitman: Yes, yes. Okay!

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (01:29:41) I'm asking about the wise man standing ahead. Baal HaSulam says that if a person is sick, he goes to a doctor and then he gets better. If a person would start studying medicine, he'd be dead before he was healed. So, I'm asking, there's a wise man in our world and maybe we just have to king him upon the nation. Because right now they want a king and they want to be told exactly what to do. And I think we're going into, we're not trying to king the wise man on the nation.

M. Laitman: For that, you're asking me? First of all, a party in Israel, every party brings its own wise guy who can be at the head of all the nation.

Student: Yes, but what we're saying is, Baal HaSulam wrote that there is a wise man and they all follow him. And if there is no wise man, they'll never be able to come out?

M. Laitman: So, what are you saying to all of humanity here?

Student:  So I'm saying there is a wise man in this world.

M. Laitman: Who's saying this?

Student: We, everyone who's sitting here.

M. Laitman: Oh, each sitting here, 300 people?

Student: No, it's about 6,000 people in the world, saying that there's a wise man that conquers everybody with love. So, I'm saying, maybe we shouldn't teach the people to be monkeys but just introduce the wise man. And then everybody in the world can king this wise man over them. And everybody here has to learn this wisdom: The wisdom is how to make the king over the nation and not turn the whole nation to doctors.

M. Laitman: Okay, we heard, that's it, nice. Okay, you calm down.

Reader:  Let's go to the next part and sing a song.

Song: (01:32:30)
