Part 2:

Baal HaSulam. The Essence of the Wisdom of Kabbalah (Conveyance from a Wise Kabbalist to an Understanding Receiver)

Reading heading (00:17) “Conveyance from a Wise Kabbalist to an Understanding Receiver”

1. S. (04:18) Can you explain the limit, the border between the wise teacher and the student in this excerpt?

R. Wise is what we call someone who learns Torah meaning he is learning how the light Torah means light, how this light affects the will to receive and how the will to will to receive adapts itself more and more to the light. This is what we call a wise student learning from the Creator actions of bestowal.

2. S. (05:13) So he writes only if the listener is wise in his own right and knows the connection between the roots and branches so who are you turning when you're teaching us we are not wise we do not understand?

R. You want to know, and this is why you are invited to get to know the Creator bit by bit certainly by the laws of nature the equivalence of form you want each one of you has a desire this desire is called the point in the heart and then you are invited. It is not that I invited you. You came by all kinds of incidents then you tested your results. Are you interested to know what we are learning, that is why you’re here.

S. Why did we even come to study the wisdom of Kabbalah what is the reason?

R. A deficiency.

S. A deficiency for what?

R. A deficiency to know what the wisdom of Kabbalah is telling us. This wisdom tells us about the souls, about the upper Force, about the development of humanity, development of man, all kinds of things. How can I know what is going on in all the worlds? This wisdom incorporates inside of it the entire reality in the entire reality that is why you have a desire. Some people have a desire only for this world, some people have a desire to know what is above this world.

S. So is it known why we're such a small quantity of people in the world?

R. Yes, yes special things are always in restriction. How many diamonds do you have compared to rubble?

S. We are diamonds?

R. You are diamonds, but you need to work on them for them to really be polished.

S. Why does Baal HaSulam say that we first need to attain the upper roots?

R. Because certainly you first need to attain the connection with the root with the Creator and then to open this connection more and more. This is how the process goes.

3. S. (08:23) In the last sentence he says once a person acquires the upper roots what does he mean to obtain the upper root with his mind?

R. This is how we attain the upper roots through them being revealed before us in all kinds of emotions and these emotions are what we try to solve or understand according to our experience according to the different types of connections between us.

4. S. (09:29) It is written that when you look at the lower branches you cannot understand anything about the higher roots so how does a Kabbalist find the connection?

R. Only through a connection with the friends and out of the connection between the friends he starts to get the connection with the Creator because the Creator is only connected to tens well not only tens but even two if they want to connect in order to attain the Creator otherwise you don’t feel the host you don't feel you can seemingly sit before Him at the table but you don't feel him and you don't see him you don't understand his actions for you. You need a friend by your side at least one and then according to the extent that you try to bestow to the friend by that you get an impression how to feel the Creator and how the Creator relates to you that is called from the love of others to the love of the Creator otherwise it does not work. Otherwise it does not work. Understand that we are this regarding our connection with the friends who are these friends the Creator is everything and who they are, they are just like me flesh and bones no. My relation to them builds for me a connection with the Creator. I cannot have a connection with the Creator beyond my connection with the friends, it is impossible he writes about it, Baal HaSulam.

5. S. (11:38) It is still not clear what you just said and before if from the love of friends we reach the love of the Creator there are all kinds of other sayings. Why is it written here that a Kabbalist needs to attain those upper roots as in spirituality?

R. First you need to get a connection to your upper root and then to develop a connection with the root out of your connection to the branches these are the laws of nature you have to be the best is if we do it in parallel both with the friends and the Creator as much as we can and all the types of different connections and then we start seeing how it works. Just understand that the Creator didn’t create simply one desire and broke it into thousands of pieces and gave us in this world meaning in the state where we are disconnected from Him to learn out of the connections and corrections and shatterings between us because out of that we will learn how to establish a connection with Him. Overall I do not discover the Creator I discover the right type of connection between the friends between the souls between the created beings this is called the Creator come and see. He is not revealed as something outside of us He is revealed only in the connections between us the right connections between us.

S. It is written here as if we're speaking about student that

R. Anyone who wants to attain the Creator is called the wise student because he wants to understand, to attain and to resemble the Creator.

6. S. (14:32) Could you explain the meaning of the Merkava?

R. Merkava. The Chariot is what we call the whole system of all the worlds including this world including the Klipot shells and their systems everything everything is all Merkava. Sometimes you would divide into the upper chariot the holy chariot the chariot of the Klipot but all in all this Merkava is a system through which the Creator is revealed.

7. S. (15:31) The language of the branches has the same words as the regular language in Hebrew right?

R. Well they're many besides that yes.

S. First he said if you say light so I’m thinking of sunlight so if it’s the same words what is it different than a regular language is it deeper?

R. The difference is that it is connected to the root.

S. So the difference is not in the words themselves in the text but in the one hearing?

R. Yes, the difference is in the one who hears. Anyone can take a book or a lesson of ours, but he will understand it as much as he understands.

S. So how to understand because he wrote in the language of branches in Kabbalah the listeners and readers will not mistake the words it seems that we can easily make mistakes in understanding.

R. We're not mistaken in understanding the words, we are scrutinizing the meaning of the words, that is how we are learning just like any other language. It’s just that here it’s a special language that always shows us the roots.

S. I really did not understand we learned that it's not a different language

R. You can say that it's different, it doesn't matter. I do not want to confuse, to argue about the names but rather the content, this language is special because it indicates the upper roots which we want to attain that is all.

Reading (17:59) “When one knows and thoroughly comprehends all this he has a common language with his teacher...”

8. R. (19:50) This is an important thing please pay attention and the answer is?

Reading continues (19:55) “He fills those whom He favors with wisdom with understanding and knowledge to acquire sublime attainments. Here it is impossible to be assisted by any flesh…”

8. S. (20:55) What is to grow fond of a person?

R. To grow fond of a person means to do good things in order to bestow. What else can make people fond when we talk about people trying to reach the Creator. Read it again I see this part of the article is not so clear even though this is the most important part.

Reading (21:36) “Conveyance from a wise Kabbalist to an understanding…”

9. R. (22:28) What does it mean to be wise and understanding with his own mind?

Reading (22:35) “Their words are totally understood…”

10. R. (23:50) Meaning first we need to learn the language of the branches meaning the connection between the upper root and the lower branch.

Reading (24:03) “However, this language, though very suitable…”

11. R. (28:23) We are moving quickly on the study of TES you think and read it during the day and tomorrow we'll go back to it.
