1. Rav’s Introduction: We for now are going through short articles of Baal HaSulam. Soon we will conclude them and will move to longer articles of Rabash as well, now we are going through short article so Baal HaSulam and soon we will go through longer articles of Rabash on orders and other materials let's hope with all this material meaning, certainly this is what happens we will get an impression even we don't remember the details of these things but our vessels nevertheless change by the study and that is how we come to a certain amount that we acquire and store in our mind and heart and that too is required in order to have a feeling and understanding of the actions that Creator is taking with us. Please go ahead.

Reading #138 (01:52 ) “Concerning Fear that Sometimes Comes Upon a Person..”

1.R. ( 03:54 ) This means that in any case whatever we are going through we have to be in a thought and desire that we stay adhered to the Creator despite all of the disturbances that He Himself sends us. He sends them only in order to strengthen us in mind and heart so we bond with Him and through these disturbances we will become more and more bonded to feel Him better, understand Him better. Just like a little child who is sitting in his mother's lap and he keeps wanting to go away and she tells him look, look she scares him a little bit and she shows him and points his attention to something that is not so pleasant, not so safe. Then he keeps clinging to her and wants to be on her. That's how it is to all the days of our infancy Katnut, as we enter the true adhesion with the Creator. In that way, we are taught how to adhere to Him despite all the obstacles. and these obstacles are actually the directions and incidence, situations on top of what we need to increase our adhesion with the Creator.

These are seemingly simple things but they happen to us in a practical way because we are all comprised of just mind and heart. When we go through these incidents we are filled with fear, calculations and concerns and anxieties and it throws us out of adhesion with the Creator that there's 'None Else Besides Him" and then once again we are in some states where we think things happened because of the body or out of thin air or some incidents in this world and that's the biggest problem that a person has, and that he detaches from 'None Else Besides Him'.

In advance, we have to try to build various connections and reinforcements that will help us not detach during the greatest disturbances  that we have, The main thing here is the environment but except the environment we also need to store in our minds and hearts all these impressions of how we handle all kinds of disturbances and we still try to overcome them. The more we do that also in connection with the environment that will help us the most because once a person escapes 'None Else Besides Him", then only the Creator and the environment can bring him back. Therefore, we need to try to determine  between our thoughts and desires where we establish our state together. Even if one falls or starts falling then the others hold him and bring him back to balance. Balance means that I feel internally that there's no one else besides him and I hold to him and I don't let go.

2. S. (09:01) What is this chance from above  that the Creator has given us? Is this the same thing as choice?

R. No, here you can say choice because you have the possibility to escape from the connection with the Creator or reinforcing the connection with the Creator but it's not the choice, is just a state or states that a person feels that this is how the Creator wants to strengthen the connection with him by rejecting him here and there and this way or that way, through disturbances in mind and heart. Then when a person accepts this game, and strengthens himself more and more that in all the states he goes through'There's is None Else Besides Him' and thus he advances towards constant connection with the Creator.

3. S. (10:33) To the same extent that a person feels fear, he should have fear of the Creator.. What is the fear of the Creator which we have constantly to compare ourselves to?

R.  The fear towards the Creator that He may throw us from connection with Him, or push us away and confuse us, our desires, thoughts. That fear should be constant within us because until the final correction as it is written 'don't trust yourself until the day you die'. Meaning the day that the will to receive dies. A person should always try to be tied to the Creator in his thoughts and desires as much as possible. We know, we understand, that it is impossible. Impossible because the Creator needs to push us away in order to advance us, so we advance and he pushes us away and so on and so forth until love covers all crimes. On top of all these opposites, remote states we will come closer and grab a hold of Him. That's the whole work, correcting the vessels.

4. S. (12:24) How can we build a mechanism that will help us emerge from the state where the Creator pushes us away?

R. I do not understand, what mechanism?

S. A mechanism that keeps us from getting away from states where the Creator pushes us away?

R. We only have one mechanism which is the group. The group, the society, the ten, and my connection with the friends, that above new spiritual hidden disturbances comes to in connection with the friends. Now of course, that connection then weakens a lot but still we have to see how it works. We can hold on to that, we can determine in advance the order of the day or the week or different meetings between us and so on. That's why it remains and strengthens me and then I transition from one state to the next. Something constant has to remain otherwise I will just disconnect and who knows when the Creator will bring me back to contact.

I myself have to build such connections between us that we will be as an anchor as a thread connecting us to the Creator. One person is up and the other person is down, another one is going through all kinds of states and so on.  If we all think about how to strengthen our connection with the Creator and how the connection with the Creator should help all of us, help the friends specifically and everyone should say that I'm responsible for this connection between the ten and the Creator, then we build such a connection that we do not disconnect from Him. Until we come to such corrections that even though the Creator has to raise the will to receive and bring us all kinds of disturbances in order to advance by then but these disturbances will not detach from the Creator but only as we see that he is grasped by the Creator, like a sting. Just a moment and then we once again go back to connection and progress and strengthen ourselves around the Creator.

5. S. (15:54) Does the fear of the Creator cancel corporeal fear?

R. Of course, if the Creator governs everything and supervises everything and "There's None Else besides HIm', the moment you adhere to him then all all that is happening in the land so to speak, that don't come from Hi,  hey disappear, they do not exist if There's None Else besides him.

S. What is the function of the corporeal fear? That we have to remember that it comes to support us spiritually?

R. Yes, we have to try to establish such an atmosphere in our group that everything that comes, comes to our benefit to strengthen our connection between us and the Creator. This has to be certain for us, that only in these states we advance and each and every state happens for that purpose

S. Corporeal fear is felt as unpleasant, spiritual fear does it feel different?

R. Spiritual fear is felt differently but why just in corporeality, Yes , of course, in spiritually, you have a goal and the spiritual fear leads you to that goal. It directs you how to relate to all the situations on the way on top of which you detect and There's None Else Besides him.

S. If we understand you correctly, you said before that if a person takes responsibility for his ten, then they will reach spirituality? Can you explain again how this influences corporeal fear?

R. Yes of course, one influences the other.

6. S. (18:41) Is the lack of fear of the Creator a weakness of spiritual development?

R. The lack of fear of the Creator is certainly a flaw and we have to try to always work on that that what happens is only happening to increase the fear of the Creator within me.

7. S. (19:22) We see that in corporeality, the fear is a force that protects you from irrational thoughts that could lead you to hurting your health or your life or other damages, in what way does it work where on the one hand, you said before that if a person starts relating to this fear correctly, yet in corporeality it disappears so it turns out that what in corporeality the protective force disappears that protects any animal from doing irrational actions. How does anyone work with the other?

R. In spirituality fear comes to increase the perception of the Creator and therefore it has the same goal actually like fear in this world fear in this world too comes in order to show me that I need to stay away from certain states, same here fear arises so that I’ll be cautious of detaching from the Creator.

S. So what does it say here? It says that a person gets a corporeal fear as an example of the fear of the Creator that should be right? But again the corporal fear, and it's necessary in corporeality in order to keep a person from doing all kinds of unnecessary actions meaning we must not cancel it but only take it as an example right? That the fear should remain right, because we’re protecting ourselves in corporeality from irrational things.

R. In spirituality too the fear that comes to me remains and it becomes a vessel where I advance in fear the of the Creator that the Creator can do all kinds of situations and circumstances for me and I build my adhesion with Him on top of it the illumination I feel from how the Creator plays with me is in order for me to always develop a sensitivity to Him adhesion with Him because otherwise I won't be able to advance.

S. Meaning the fear that in corporeality remains but you take it as an example of the fear you have before the Creator that the corporeal fear is not canceled right?

R. We will talk about it. It's not that simple, there's going to be a lot of that on the way.

8. S. (22:45) We see that fear is a powerful vessel, a tool. It seems like sometimes we have to arouse fear, the fear awakens us. How do we work with fear in order to accelerate times?

R. I think that just not to delete the fears and anxieties that awaken in us and work with them so we don't throw them away we also don't develop them the main thing is to go with adhesion to the group and the Creator and on the way as we feel all kinds of fears and threats unpleasant states and so on so work with them to strengthen None Else Besides Him that all of these forms that appear they cancel the singularity of the Creator to us in each and every state that and that's exactly thing we work against.

S. In life if you encounter fear and you’re ashamed I'm so afraid of something corporeal and if I already fear the Creator this way and I’m afraid of this nonsense it’s good that it appears that where there is no fear. How do you want to awaken the fear?

R. It means that we don't use all our means in order to advance that we aren’t sufficiently sensitive to the disturbances that we have in front of us it’s not fear that we have to be trembling from something like in this world, it’s that we are not adhered to the Creator and coming out of adhesion from the Creator or seeing that we are not sufficiently adhered to the Creator that should awaken fear within us. Like it says that you’ve covered your face from me and I was frightened that's what Psalms say.

9. S. (26:09) There is fear from the Creator and of the Creator, in this article does Baal HaSulam tell us to fear the Creator in what sense? What kind of fear should I awaken from Him in me?

R. I would say that the sensation of fear anxiety comes still from something that is completely not clarified not scrutinized and when it’s sufficiently scrutinized but the vessel is not yet corrected then we call it fear, so anxiousness or anxieties are the first part of adhering with Creator and fear is the second.

10. S. (27:16) Baal HaSulam writes that the minute fear appeared in a person he should examine it and study for what purpose the fear was sent to him and then he talks about that we have to conclude that there’s None Else Besides Him. What is the study that a person should do here, because aren’t there problems with the appearance of the fear and there’s only None Else Besides Him and that’s how we have to run into it, that there’s only the Creator what is this research?

R. We can’t escape it we have to see what happened to us and how fear came to us and that you want to escape it that’s in the first moment but then we begin to understand that it comes from the Creator so that I work with this feeling and this feeling gives me the depth of the new vessel that I need to embrace and acquire that fear should actually be filled with the light confidence in the Creator adhesion with the Creator above the fear through my adhesion with the friends my labor and then it turns out that this vessel of fear which is a new empty vessel it gives me an opportunity for new adhesion and that's how we advance so we can’t advance and make any step forward if we don't feel fear unpleasantness anxiousness and so on it’s the feeling of a new vessel, look at a baby how he wants and he's afraid and he doesn't know exactly and keeps coming back to you and he’s learning life  he has a great passion to know everything and receive everything on the other hand he goes through opposite states where he keeps demanding the adults to help him cries before us even when there is no need but he uses that to get help from us to get our attention so that's the work that we need to do if we would relate that this way to the Creator and in such a way like a baby draw His attention demand from Him to reveal Himself more use that more just imagine that using the, going through the same phases and steps that the little child does that let's do that towards the Creator and we'll see how much that works.

11. S. (31:02) For us we all have our own fears, our own reasons, there are all kinds of events that happen to him that awaken fear in him, that's individual. Should I dig into trying to understand why a certain event frightened me?

R. First of all I think that we have no way to clarify these things to try to analyze the state I can’t do that now, first I have to adhere as much as I can once I have some adhesion then from that point I can begin to clarify the state I went through and why the Creator did this to me why, it’s clear to advance but that’s not enough meaning how to do this to me in what type of way in what kind of discernments in what aspect and that’s how I gradually scrutinize these states.

S. Can I bring this fear to the ten?

R. No no just from going together all of us then in our Kli all these states are included and that's how we advance but to start discussing all of that and confuse your friends it is not typically it’s not customary we’ll have to learn that.

12. S. (33:00) When I have fear of the Creator is it the same as having fear for my ten?

R. It should be so to the extent that you can feel that, that'll be good yes.

13. S. (33:35) How to reconcile the fear of the Creator and the joy of working for Him because, for instance, I can enjoy working for the Creator, to work in spirituality and not necessarily fear the Creator so how can I include this fear of my joy in the work?

R. We should see the the revelation of fear as necessary on the path there are many actions we do in life especially in sports or other professions when we are in between success and loss when I use a certain device let's say I'm in a racing car so I can win or lose big time and people climb mountains or other things of that sort so you’re between winning and losing and that will actually gives you pleasure. I we dive deeper into everything we do in this world so our whole work our whole life is actually built from this ability to either lose or gain and so I think we have to establish ourselves correctly we can’t advance with loss and we can’t advance with only gain. Rather you can only use these two feet this two lines to advance you can’t have one without the other because the one indicates the other and then the other and one corrects the other and there's no corruption on the left and there's no correction on the right and that's how it should go .So fear should be until the very last moment on the path of our correction it has to be that way you can’y have one without the other because we are created beings and we only exist from discovering our oppositness our separation, the remoteness from the Creator and if that remoteness will not appear in us in some negative way then we won't be able to do anyting that's understood so to be in the right direction and in the group to hold on to each other and thus we advance.

14. S. (37:06) Rav you just recommended to do any scrutiny of any analysis from the state of adhesion. Can you elaborate on that, what is that state?

R. Because otherwise we can’t do correct scrutinies if we don't do it from the state of being connected between us to the maximum possible how can I approach any state and look at it correctly if in the first place I don’t balance myself it’s like you use a certain measurement device you have to first calibrate it and tune it and configure certain settings to make sure everything is on zero. Then you begin measuring, you begin your test, that's what I meant. First we have to stabilize ourselves in the group in connection between us and then see what the Creator wants from us what’s happening to us, what can we demand from Him but first we have to stabilize ourselves and then maybe as we stabilize ourselves we already understand what we need to do when we don't even need to turn to Him or we do but with some demand with some completely other statement.

15. S. (39:00) The connection between fear of moving away from the Creator and fear of the Creator, what is the connection between them?

R. The feeling that you are moving away from the Creator comes to you from above and so we need to work on that feeling between us to get closer between us to that extent we get closer to the Creator and fear towards the Creator doesn't come as a result of getting closer or farther or being farther away it comes from the development of our vessels which is the raising of our sensitivity. That we feel that it erases that in us now these things are interrelated but other than them there's also a few other discernments so on the way we will work with that there are many discernments that are developing in us now and we still can’t rearrange them or see the connection between them. Bit by bit it will fall into place and we’ll bring some order to them.

S. Can we say that fear is what comes from the Creator and no fear is what we built?

R. Everything comes from the Creator but directly or indirectly we will talk about it.

16. S. (41:06) The fear you are talking about is fear for your life?

R. No no, no no, not necessarily.

17. S. (41:24) Can fear come from guilt?

R. Yes you are right it can.

18. S. (41:50) What prevents or hinders the state of fear and is a person without fear disconnected from spirituality?

R.  This is certainly as in our life. We cannot connect to the environment without fear because then we might harm ourselves and do all kinds of things that harm others, the environment in other words fear is a necessary feeling. There is a difference between a corporeal fear and spiritual fear. It is a very special zone that has to do with the creation of the vessel we have to work on. Let's hope that our friends will find the material for us and we will study it in the coming days.

19. S. (43:13) Is this fear some kind of invitation from the part of the Creator in order to get out of us to reaffirm. to say that this is truly what we want. Is that something like that? Can you please explain if this is some kind of invitation?

R. Yes, yes.

20. S. (43:49) Is it okay to feel that the Creator doesn't want to respond to our prayers and how does this help us?

R. I don’t know. I can't answer it that the Creator not wanting to respond to our prayers this too is His decision for our sake.

21. S. (44:32) How can the fear that I feel can increase sensitivity, how can this fear benefit the common vessel? How can I add this to the common vessel?

R. It belongs to the common vessel, all our personal fears, we have nothing personal afterwards we come to a state where families, children, our businesses and everything will all belong to one vessel and gradually we see that all of humanity belongs to one vessel, etc. Of course fears and anxieties are only in order  to increase this vessel and magnify it. That’s the way it is.

S. I am really talking about fear of blemishing in the King? How to use this to increase importance like fear in the ten of blemishing the King?

R. He writes about how a person has a fear, how is it written? I don't remember right now… but he's afraid that he will not have fear of the Creator; such fears that he will not be able to maintain the glory of the King. These fears are very respectable, honorable.

S. This is truly like the fear that you lack having the fear or that you lack feeling shame for using your vessel of reception, it really felt that this fear is building the vessel, is this correct?

R. Fear builds the vessel, that's clear. Yes. All our programs, look at children, babies, it is really felt very strongly that previously he was afraid of something, you helped him gets to know that thing that there's nothing to fear and he begins to approach it gently, slowly, he looks at you and touches it, and in this way, gradually he learns. That's exactly how spirituality works, what we see in corporeality in little children.

S. This Hissaron for instance, I experience that i’m using the vessel of reception, the big vessels, like a lot of vitality there and I feel that I don't feel shame i lack the feeling of shame and it induces fear, i feel that i can use this vessel without any warning like the restriction is not in place. Can we use this Hisaron in our prayer to ask for a stronger restriction?

R. It is written “go to the Craftsman who made me”. In other words, if you are talking about vessels that the Creator created in you then you shouldn't have any shame about it. You only need to scrutinize how you can sort them out and bring them to correction in the right order. That's it. Of course everything I have in me is from the Creator; i don't create for myself, i didn't do anything for myself and therefore I have nothing to be ashamed of, this is me. I only need to be ashamed of not making the possible effort to correct myself, meaning to my incorporation in the ten and to push everyone to the Creator. This is what I need to be ashamed of, for the opportunities that I had from the Creator but didn't do. But when I failed, there's nothing I can do, it is how it was selected from above. So, “go to the Craftsman who made me” talks about all those dispositions, qualities that I have with which I cannot work, but I try to take from them more and more hearts and correct as much as possible.

22. S. (50:22) You said before that anxiety is the first half of lack of adhesion with Creator and fear is the second and in anxiety, there are states where you avoid coping with it so how do you overcome that?

R. So we're avoiding dealing with it. What can you do? We have to sort these things within the ten. All these scrutinies can only be in the ten. Then you will see; fears, anxieties and to what extent I can be with them or cannot. There are such fears and anxieties which are personal that don't belong to the ten but really disrupt us in advancing toward adhesion with the friends and to the Creator. So here it is man's work with himself and with the Creator; not everything he can share with everyone, even with close friends, it's between you and the Creator.

S. Yes, it’s exactly what I wanted to ask. Thank you.

23. S. (51:55) The ten is asking is there fear without love or fear and love always come together?

R. Fear and love come together. We will learn that there cannot be love without fear and fear can be without love, and how to work with it. We will talk about that, for now that’s it.

24. S. (52:35) According to the height of fear can a person achieve that he advances in the work and even to what extent?

R. To the extent of the fear of course a person advances in the work, but we have to scrutinize what type of fear, in the Introduction of the Book of Zohar there’re whole articles and essays about fear. Also the first commandment is about fear. Our friends who prepare the articles for us should prepare this material for us and we will see what we can do. We will work on it.

25. S. (53:32) Can fear of the Creator really be until the barrier, or the true fear of the Creator appears only after entering spirituality?

R. No no. There's fear before the barrier and after the barrier, fear accompanies us along the way. Fear is a result of vessels that are not still being completely corrected.

26. S. (54:08) How do you help a friend if he loses grasp of the Creator so much that he can’t relate this situation to him?

R. Fine. So what, so he tries, everything happens.

27. S. (54:24) How to work with the quality of fear when it is stronger than shame?

R. Fear requires scrutiny: Why the fear and why the shame and why i tie these two together, fear and shame and why was it given to me this way? We have to scrutinize these things, you should think about it.

28. S. (54:58) What about fear that is not about myself but fear from my friends, for children, for my nation. How to cope with such fears that are not for myself?

R. They are the same fears that we have to attribute to the Creator and we should pray to Him. They come in order for us to come to the source which is The Creator and ask Him to balance us, to tie us together, to make it possible for us to help everyone, Etc.

29. R. (57:19) In other words, if we are in a situation where we do not know quite what to do in this state, with this desire, with this attention, with our inclinations of something.  Think about love. How do we fill our minds and hearts with actions and relationships with as much love as possible? By this it is certain that we are in the right direction. Very simple, in every single situation, where we do not know what to do,  fill up this state with love with a good relation towards others.

30. S. (58:02) Is there a contradiction in our work that comes from fear?

R. Contradiction in our work that comes from fear? Our work is always in contradiction with one another. We are always as created beings opposite from the Creator in relation to the Creator and there is no greater distance than the one between us ,between the Creator and the created beings. It is just an opposite form, an opposite quality, the most opposite in reality, and we are nearing and connecting between us only by building in us those qualities that exist in the Creator which we don't have in us. We are opposite qualities and this is how we advance. That's it.

31. S. (59:40) After I receive a blow what is the action in the ten?

R. In the ten, or from the ten to me, or from me to the ten? The ten should try over revealing a personal blow from all his friends, to try to to bond, to grow stronger above the blow, and then these blows will be truly for their benefit.

32. S. (01:00:22 ) What does it mean that the body is impressed by this external fear in the article we read?

R. Again what does it mean that the body's impressed?

S. By the external fear

R. The bodies impressed because I'm afraid. I'm afraid of fear. An external fear or internal fear, it doesn't matter. Actually, there is no internal or external fear. There is None Else Besides Him. The Creator awakens all of those things either through the environment or nature or in such a way that it comes from Him but I don't see that it came from Him. Suddenly I become afraid of something unknown etc. In other words it always comes from the Creator. In the end we should settle the account with Him but we can't settle the account with Him alone.  As much as we think that we're close to the Creator and no we need him it's all through the environment.  He has to connect to the environment and through the system of the environment he connects to the Creator.

33. S. (01:01:50) What to do if a person receives a physical fear so strong that one cannot overcome it for a very long time, even years?

R. It doesn't matter if he can't. So what? Later there will come a time when he might be able to and besides you need to understand that there are such unpleasant things that we cannot overcome them at once but through many states of overcoming more and more and more, we do overcome them, we do overcome them. That's why there is this matter here of having to add more and more labor.

S. How exactly do you move from physical fear to spiritual fear?

R. By determining that it's all coming from the Creator.

S. There's only love and fear. Do we not want to transcend the fear, is fear not the ego that is talking?

R. No, fear is not the ego, it is a result of lack of love.

34. S. (01:03:24) If we're talking about fear, why does the upper force cause me to fear when I think of him?

R. Because you still don't have a grip on him and you don't know who you need to go to but if you do it through the environment it will be okay.

35. S. (01:03:50) Fear of not achieving connection in this life, is this corporeal or spiritual?

R. Corporeal.

36. S. (01:04:21) We heard from you in the lesson a  few days ago that if you go with the Creator you're not afraid of anything. As it says in the  Psalms ' even if I walk through the valley of darkness I should not fear" so do we receive both fear and confidence?

R. Fear and confidence have to go together with these qualities. It is not a problem. They actually support one another, without fear there will be no confidence. Why do I need confidence? Only in order to cover the fear.

37. S. (01:04:47) How does a person know that he has the right kind of fear and the right attitude can all kinds of fear advance a person?

R. In the end yes. of course.

38. S. (01:05:04) What does it mean to overcome the fear and say 'None Else Besides Him' does a person do it to himself?

R. A person doesn't do anything by himself but through his connection with the group and with the Creator he reveals his true state in relation to all the discernment in the state. First he has to position himself this way.

39. S. (01:05:38) If we overcome fear and come to a state of 'None Else Besides Him' is that already a state of bestowing to the Creator?

R. Yes.

40. S. 01:05:56) How to know when to overcome more and when we should pray more?

R. I think we always need both to overcome until we come to a prayer. The real overcoming it was when a person overcomes and overcomes and overcomes and discovers that besides prayer there's nothing for him to do.

41. S. (01:06:31) Is the fear towards the ten to not disappoint them if we feel that is that fear of the Creator?

R. First we need to feel fear of the Creator and then see.

42. S. (01:07:10) We're talking about love of others. and I see that I am barely, barely, connected physically to people. Is that okay?

R. Physically, it doesn't matter. Physical connection doesn't matter.  There's a reason why we see how the system of connection communication developed around the world.  We are now in all the continents and we can be as connected as if we are in one room. Physically it doesn't matter whatsoever. Now we have another wave of pandemic and who knows what other ways will come later so we can't meet physically at all. We already need to try to establish such connections between us that will be completely, completely instead of the physical approach.We've come to a new era there's nothing you can do.

S. Right, but I see that I move away from others deliberately because I see that I can't love them.

R. Because you can see someone physically?

S. Because I can't love them so I move away from others. I can't love. I can't be in the company of people for a long time.

R. You need to see that you didn't love them before either but previously it wasn't clear to you and now you are discovering how far you are from them because you don't want to love them. Meaning you already have a relation to the love to the connection with them it is already advancement, its progress. Regarding physical connection day-to-day I am becoming more and more certain that it will not work.
