Item 7 Twice
38. R. (04:41) It is clear to us that there is the Creator who is the giver and the created being who is the receiver. He doesn't have any more than the desire to receive but it needs to be properly organized to be able to receive what the Creator wants to give it, and there is such a connection between them where both can give to. So that the Creator gives to the vessel a deficiency of the desire to receive, and the Creator gives him fulfillment feeling that everything comes to complete one another.
39. S. (05:25) Baal HaSulam’s, words even though it's in Hebrew, it is like Chinese. I can't even approach a word; I might have questions about what you explained and elaborate. Is this the right way to study?
R. I don't know. You have to read a few times what is right and then you can figure out if you understand Hebrew or the language in general as I don't see anything difficult about what we just read. What is so difficult, the Creator who is the desire to bestow, in order to realize this, needs nothing more than a desire to receive where he created his entire nature of the created being and this is why all of creation includes two things, the Creators desire to bestow and the creatures desire to receive. Now the question is, what does the Creator want out of this creation? He is going to talk about this next, nothing you desire to receive in the created being, must be organized and certain in a special way so that the Creator will feel and receive a certain connection with the Creator to reach the degree of the Creator. The awareness and consciousness of the Creator. Not the desire to receive on the still level he doesn't know anything other than itself, on the vegetative level it has a certain attitude for the source of its fulfillment. On the animal degree he already connects to it and wants to cleave to it to help but he is still connected from within his desire to receive and nothing other than that. But in the form of the speaking, he works to resemble the Creator and in order to do this he turns himself into something completely different. He wants to use his desire to receive in order to bestow. Therefore, the degrees of still, vegetative and animal are in this world, on this level, but the speaking degree of man, the one who resembles the Creator is a spiritual degree in something completely different. The Creator uses these still, vegetative and animal degrees only in order to resemble the Creator on the speaking degree. This is what he explains to us after all, that we all know and understand. The language is not difficult.
S. Maybe because I'm trying to understand in my brain?
R. No there's nothing to feel here you have to feel it with your intellect as it is written for people who simply want to enter the wisdom of Kabbalah.
40. S. (08:52) How to relate to the desire to receive in the world, as only parts of the soul?
R. It is not written here but there is no desire to receive other than the soul. What is created from the Creator is called the desire to receive which is called a soul, because the degree to reach is the degree of Neshama; Nefesh, Ruach, Chayah and Yechidah are additions, everyone needs to reach Neshama. All of the worlds of man are what appears to a person are the degrees of his connection to the life and the influence of the Creator.
41. S. (10:06) Here he was saying that the new creation according to the previous excerpt that we are part of his essence like the rock taken from the mountain. Here he is saying we are like a material that is created, and he is putting the new creation in us, how did he create us, how is this new creation compared to what He is?
R. He created us as existence out of absence, this is the action of the Creator that he desired, and he created. When we enter spirituality, we will see how you can do this from 0, from nothing that you will make something that exists. For the time being we should accept it the way it is, this is called existence out of absence.
42. S. (11:16) He says that all of the fulfillment of the thought of creation, all of the benefits that he thought for us come directly from his essence, what benefit is he speaking about, what abundance?
R. The desire to receive comes from the Creator indirectly and what that desire to receive actually received inside of it, the fulfillment comes from the Creator directly.
S. So why does he say he has no reason to recreate?
R. Because everything was created at once, in one thought was everything created. The desire to receive and other than that the Creator needs nothing, and all the rest are just corrections on the desire to receive, to bring it to a stage where the desire to receive will be able to receive its fulfilment completely.
S. So without man's acting we can't do anything?
R. Correct.
43. S. (12:43) Every desire to receive is a material, why is he using that word matter?
R. We have gas, we have liquids, we have solids, plasma, there are many things, matter means various forms of the desire to receive that could appear here, could be revealed here and this is called matter.
Item 8 (13:26)
44. R. (16:04) The desire to receive which is only the desire to receive because it is a desire to receive inside various modes, it wants to receive this, it wants to receive something else. This is how all the desires to receive differ and according to how they are close or distant from each other it doesn't matter. They are in order to receive or bestow, rather we are speaking of differences within the desire to receive itself. This is his explanation for the time being about the created beings how they are different from one another, but they are not different in their general style of receiving or bestowing, rather they are all to receive and the difference between them is the difference in the desire to receive itself. One loves this and the other loves something else and the third another, all according to the mode that exists in the desire to receive in each and every one and this is how they differ from each one.
45. S. (17:26) How can the Creator only give a part of us the ability to correct the desire to receive, from what reason does someone attain this ability to correct himself and others don't receive this opportunity?
R. Each one exists in the general desire to receive so, let's draw it maybe in this way. This is the general desire to receive that the Creator created and inside there are degrees that we need to correct and fill this desire to receive. So, you have desire number one, two, three, four and so this is how it is in the general desire to receive which is the soul. It is called Neshama. If I take a certain part of it, it is also divided into four parts, this is called YKVK, everywhere wherever I take it from. It turns out that the desire to receive is divided into four parts called YKVK and each part also divides into YKVK, meaning into all of the four parts. Because it is impossible to have a desire to receive as the light and goes through different stages until eventually it comes to the desire to receive as 100% as ego, the egoistic desire to receive. This is why we have differences as we are speaking of the states of still, vegetative and animate. People are also divided into four levels like that, inside a person, inside groups of people so thousands upon thousands of differences but they are all included and divided according to this style of the desire to receive that was created by the light and was divided into four parts. That is why it turns out that there are such people who are up above here and there are those who are down and there is a connection between them, a simple connection, one who gives to the other through incorporation. The lower one gives the desire to the upper one and the upper one gives the lower one the strength to correct the desire and this is what is happening, and we will always find all kinds that will complete one another until you come to a circle and it, we are all equal as each one give to what they have to the others in order to bestow. Because we are in order to bestow, it turns out that there is no problem as each one is giving according to his part. How he was given from the Creator and how he needs to give to others, and this is why we're all in the same form on an equal level and there is no one here who is higher or lower. It is only now that we have a difference of higher or lower, wise, full, rich, or poor but later when we connect together there is no difference whatsoever because each one gives the other the general offers of what he has, and we will have equal parts in it.
S. We have two goals, on behalf of the Creator it is to fulfill the created being and the created being is to cling to the Creator, what is the connection between both of those goals?
R. They mutually complement one another.
Item 9 (23:19)
46. R. (26:54) The fact that there is a desire to receive inside the created being, this is what separates him from the Creator, the desire to receive is opposite the Creator who is the desire to be still, and this is why they can't feel one another, they can't understand one another as there is no connection between them.
Reader continues (27:22)
47. S. (29:07) I didn't understand the last two sentences if you could explain?
R. I will repeat item nine, we therefore find that in spirituality the disparity of form acts and separates in the corporeal world between corporeal objects there is an axe that divides things into two. The same thing in spirituality, called disparity of form, or oppositeness form, comes and shows that these two parts do not belong together. Let's say that the light comes, and we say that this is green, and this is red, and this is why they don't belong to each other, so in spirituality we also have such a thing which separates two objects. Like an axe that separates in the physical world, in addition to being separate, there is a distance between them of how distant they are between each other, that says it is proportional to the oppositeness of form meaning, according to they are opposite is how distant they are. From this we learn, since the desire to receive is the light, the Creator that has been imprinted in the souls and we show that these forms are absent in the Creator. That there is no desire to receive in the Creator as from what would you receive, then the disparity of form that the soul acquires a change, separates him from his essence, from the Creator like the axe that carves the stone from the mountain.
Meaning what is the difference between the soul and the Creator, is the desire to receive that exists in the soul. This is what separates them and distances them from the Creator. So, what do you do? There is nothing to do as that is how the souls are separate and distant from the Creator and because of that disparity of form that exists in the desire to receive, in the souls in between that and the Creator the soul separates from the Creator and became creatures. Who is the created being? It is one in whom the desire to receive works. The Creator is the desire to bestow however everything the soul acquires of his light, extends from his essence, the existence from existence. But light comes from the Creator to enter the souls. It follows with respect to the light which the souls receive inside their vessel, inside their desire to receive is the desire to receive. There is no difference between them and his essence, meaning the same light that exists in the Creator is also present and enters the created beings. Since they receive it as existence from existence, directly from the Creator, from his essence. There's nothing other than the Creator as the same light that exists in the Creator is in the created beings and filled them and there are no changes in the light. They're only changes in the desire between the Creator and the desires of the created being. The only difference between the essence of the soul, there are differences in the essence of the desire to receive. The difference is the soul is a part of his essence so, what does it mean part of his essence?
That the amount of light that they receive in their vessel each and every soul, receives a certain light inside of it that holds it, and it is also separated from the Creator meaning it left the Creator and entered into the soul as it is predicated under the disparity of form of the desire to receive. This disparity of form that exists between the soul and the Creator made it apart from which they were separated from the whole to become the part which is the created being. The only difference between them is that one is the whole, the Creator and the other is a created being, the part as a stone that is carved from a mountain is all that he is speaking about.
S. It is like the Creator is one whole and then it is divided in the vessel and the fulfillment but also the vessel and fulfillment is part of the Creator, so I don't really get this?
R. I see that there is a Creator who is the upper light, and that upper light created the desire to receive and the desire to receive has many different forms to the extent that the desire to receive is different from one another and from the Creator, accordingly it is filled from the light that comes from the Creator.
S. The desire to receive is not part of the Creator, it's not the stone carved from the mountain?
R. Are you a beginner?
S. I've been studying for 5 years.
R. The desire to receive is not part of the Creator it is existence from absence, the Creator decided to create the desire to receive, and this is the nature and the essence of the created being. You have to learn the basics, the foundation and this is why we are going to bring everyone to one level so that somehow, we will understand all of us together to have one knowledge, one level. We are only reinforcing my decision to learn this introduction.
48. S. (36:40) It says that the soul was a part of the mountain, and it underwent a change of form, and the souls came out of the Creator and became created beings, so it is not clear, they began as part of the Creator?
R. The soul includes two parts the desire to receive which is the body of the soul and a fulfillment which is the upper light. The upper light that is in the soul comes from the Creator and there's no difference in the light which is in the Creator or in the soul. What isn't in the Creator and in the soul is a vessel, the shell which holds the light inside of it. So, you have a vessel which is the desire to receive and the light in the vessel that comes from the Creator to the extent that the vessel resembles the Creator in order to bestow. So, the light that comes from the Creator fills the vessel as there is nothing but that. The soul includes two parts, the light, and the vessel. The light comes from the desire to receive that if it is in order to bestow, it becomes a vessel worthy of sustaining the light and the light that comes is the Divine part from above as we say.
49. S. (39:00) What we just read, they used the concept of his essence often and also the Creator. We learned that the Creator is the quality of bestowal and love that the Kabbalists the highest degrees so what is the difference between his essence and the Creator?
R. We are not into this yet, you learned what he wants to tell you.
50. S. (39:48) In the analogy that he makes of the mountain and the stone, what am I?
R. The general desire to receive is the mountain, the axe is a disparity of form between the Creator and the created beings as it slices the created beings in two parts, that in each and every created being there is a different form of the desire to receive and according to the difference between the desire to receive they are separate from each other according to the intention to bestow. The created beings are separate from the Creator. As much as the desire to receive in the created being is equipped with an intention to bestow, the created being is closer to the Creator to such an extent that he begins to be filled from the Creator. The Creator fills the created being, and this is called the inner light in the created being.
S. What is the action to return the stone to the mountain?
R. You need to perform an action of equivalence of form to the Creator by your intentions, you have to correct yourself, what your desire to receive is you have to correct it in order to bestow. You have to read each part 10 times as it is your foundation and without this you won't be able to feel the spiritual world.
Item 10 (42:00) Twice
51. R. (48:52) What does he want to say here? The Creator created a system, and the system is huge, complex coming from above downward into worlds, levels, Adam Kadmon, ABYA, five degrees, the system is divided into let's say right and left, purity and impurity and this way it exists there. It is a mutual connection between all the worlds of purity and impurity, they are all part of creation, the system that the Creator created, and they are all under his force and all of this that exists, exist in order to bring humanity, people that are in the systems to the end of correction, Gmar Tikkun. That we need to reach a state in our private personal connection, in our little parts of small individuals, that we can each and every one correct themselves by connecting to everybody else and then everybody else will all connect together into one mechanism and all of creation returns to being one circle, one sphere. This is why the system is very complex and there are many parts in it here that we are not learning about and we have to learn that what is in it we need all of it, we need everything, we need to incorporate in all of it to the extent that we will develop and include all of the systems inside of ourselves, the world and everything and that this together, we will reach everyone into one created being which is adhered to to the Creator.
52. S. (51:41) In the previous question your answer said the big mountain is the general desire to receive and the axe is the disparity of form, where is the disparity of form between the desire to receive?
R. In each and every one of them as much as each one is different from the other, I like sweet, you like salty, the third guy wants a bitter and so on. We are all the desire to receive but there is a difference between us.
53. S. (52:40) Is there a difference between a soul and a desire to receive?
R. The desire to receive is the general desire, the essence of the created being, the desire to receive which does not disappear. Nothing happens with it; it just goes through changes of the way the created being wants to use it. As it starts from the point that he is not included in the desire to receive like the still, vegetative and animate, it starts from the point where he separates himself from the desire to receive. He can take himself out of the desire to receive and say that this is the desire to receive, and this is me and this me is called the point in the heart, which is the desire to receive, and the created being ascribes himself to that point which is the Divine part from above. He tells me is not the desire to receive as I am standing outside of it, and I want to determine on that desire to receive how it will behave. I have the connection with the Creator and with my connection to Him, I will control my desire to receive and determine what form it will need to receive and from this moment onward it is called created being. Before that no, the still, vegetative and animate are not called created beings. Man comes out of the still, vegetative and animate because he says he wants to resemble the Creator this is why he is called Adam, from the word similar.
S. So the created being called soul has a choice?
R. The created being means he feels as much as he is still disconnected from the Creator or in something that belongs to him or very minute, on the other hand he can measure himself.
54. S. (55:10) The Creator created the systems for correction, is the 10 a subsystem of the bigger system, what system do we create in the 10?
R. In the 10 we can in the force of bestowing to the Creator we can build ourselves, that we are connected as if the force of the Creator is working within us. As opposed to this whole world, what is happening around us in the 10 we want to determine conditions, rules as if the Creator is in control of us. It is like a game and that we are in our game in such a way that in us, in the connection between us the Creator dwells, the force of the Creator.
S. The complete collection is to become one big ten?
R. It is that we reach a connection between all the humans and the Creator, his force, light. He himself is between us and this is why we build the Creator between us on behalf of our desire to receive. As we turn it into such a manner of bestowing where the quality of bestowing can be revealed in there which is the Creator.
S. My small 10, we influence the entire correction toward this big correction?
R. Yes, because we are in a system with all the souls whether we want it or not we are there and we cannot run away or come out of it. That we bestow one upon the other.
55. S. (57:47) The Creator gave us the vessel the world Kli, and we are united within the desire to receive. The Creator works in us with the desire to bestow, how do we unite the desire to bestow so the Creator will say you have made me?
R. I don't understand the question.
S. I have the desire to receive that the Creator imprinted in my soul. How does this get inverted into bestowing if it doesn't belong to the Creator?
R. I don't understand the question, you need to think and write it down and then read it to us, you can't.
S. Maybe if we are opposite from the Creator and we can't feel one another how can the Creator influence us?
R. The Creator bestows, it doesn't belong to us everything is in his hands and on that you don't ask.
56. S. (01:00:08) The soul is part of the desire to receive or all of the desire to receive?
R. The soul is the desire to receive, the desire to receive can be corrupted and that is a broken Soul meaning in order to receive, it can be in order to bestow and then it is a corrected soul, it can be either partially or corrupted, we call it desire to receive that is about to be corrected.
57. S. (01:01:13) Does everyone have a point in the heart?
R. Yes, but some have a point in the heart that is more revealed and according to this desire in the desire to receive they feel they belong to the purpose of creation to discover what they are alive for. It is not a tendency to religion or ceremonies it is a tendency, a feeling of what am I alive for why I have been created.
58. S. (01:02:07) What are the sparks of the souls and what are their desires?
R. In the souls there are a lot of records that include a lot of parts from the desire to receive and from the light and this is what we learn in the wisdom of Kabbalah. What I'm asking is to read a few times what is written here in Excerpt number nine and ten and to do this in the group and put together questions and scrutinize them and we will go over them together as there's no choice, we must keep scrutinizing these. You see why I started this introduction because without us bringing all of these things up and trying to scrutinize it for ourselves we are in a state that we don't have a vessel, that it is not a group, that each one who knows how he grasped this reality, this creation. So, try for tomorrow to be ready from what we went through today that you will know what is written, maybe you don't understand what is written but what is written that you know. Because without this we can't study, let's say if they gave you in school.
