Part 2:

Rosh HaShana - Selected Excerpts from the Sources. #12

Reading Excerpt #12 (00:17 - 04:21) Twice

1. S. (04:30) How can you detect the connection in the ten as the form of ‘Divinity in glory’?

R. Ask again?

S. How to identify or find the connection in the ten in the form of ‘Divinity in glory’?

R. If you are so connected that you want to accept the Creator and that He will be entirely in order to bestow for His glory, well then you truly are in Divinity, in honor.

S. Why is Rosh Hashanah called ‘terrible days’?

R. ‘Terrible days’, terrible means the lights are being revealed for which we need to arrange vessels and these lights will be accepted in order to bestow.

S. Why is it terrible, what is so terrible about it?

R. ‘Terrible’ means great light.

S. Is it hard to do it?

R. Of course it is hard.

S. That’s why it’s terrible.

R. Of course it is.

S. Then he says, “the building of Malchut is called the quality of judgment”, what is that “building of Malchut”?

R. “The building of Malchut” is Shechina.

S. Then he says, “this is called the quality of judgment”, why, what’s the connection there?

R. That we need to correct all of these vessels so that they will all be in order to bestow.

S. That is what I'm asking, why is that so terrible, why is it so hard?

R. Try it and you will see.

S. Oh that is why?

R. Yes.

S. Is it hard?

R. It’s very hard.

S. But you can do it?

R. You have to do it!

S. How can you do it?

R. Through the connection between us and the prayer to the Creator.

S. I got it, thank you.

R. But the days are nonetheless called ‘terrible’.

Reading Excerpt 13 (07:09 - 09:33) twice

2. S. (09:38) What is the connection between Rosh Hashanah and the rest of the world?

R. Rosh Hashanah is the head, the Rosh, of the Shanah, the year, according to the plan of creation, from that day you start counting the days of the year.

S. He writes. “we pray, reign over the whole world, Your glory”, and then he says, “We pray through Rosh Hashanah to give glory to Your people”; so what are we asking about for the people, for the world?

R. The world and the people but actually it doesn't matter that it is only Rosh Hashanah for the Jews, it is the head of the plan, the yearly plan.

S. What does it mean ‘to feel the glory of Heaven’?

R. That the Creator is running the whole reality.

3. S. (10:50) Still, about honor, glory, does the Creator need any honor from us, any respect?

R. By us respecting Him, valuing Him, by that, we elevate ourselves towards Him.

S. Baal HaSulam called the Creator, “the upper Force”, the steamroller of evolution, an immutable law; how can we, relative to those concepts, how can we treat them with respect, honor them, the whole matter of the feeling is between a man and his friend? Something that seemingly, it is a dry law, He hates the bodies, He, seemingly, simply is pulling us towards the goal?

R. The Creator wants these bodies, these created beings, they themselves will choose that goal, that path, and will advance towards it until the end of correction.

S. I thought that, I'll say this, I have to respect what He created, meaning the same attitude toward what He created, if I would relate to it the same way He relates to it, is it correct to think this way?

R. Yes, yes.

4. S. (12:46) This revelation that he is talking about the revelation of the Malchut, the Kingdom of Heaven, it’s one hundred eighty degrees with everything we have learned in the first part of the lesson, what does that mean? We spoke in the first part of the lesson about going with your eyes shut, above reason, so on and so forth. Here we are reading about the need to reveal the glory of Malchut all over the world?

R. But how do you reveal it; specifically by walking with eyes closed.

S. It is very confusing.

R. It is okay, think about it and you will see that it is impossible to do it in any other way.

5. S. (13:39) The connection between us is the result of the prayers, one for the other?

R. Yes, suppose.

S. So where do we get the Arvut from, the fact that we are not coming off of it?

R. I don't get it.

S. The matter of our Arvut, the mutual guarantee?

R. Yes?

S. The matter of Arvut, the mutual guarantee?

R. Yes, when we connect between us and support each other with an understanding, with feeling, with confidence that no one attains the purpose of creation alone, only through mutual support.

S. It is confidence.

R. Mutual support is called Arvut?

6. S. (14:28) In the excerpt it says there will be no desire left even the smallest with reception to itself, so he ties that with the general prayer, that the whole world will be in that?

R. Yes.

S. What is the connection? If I see corruption in the world does that mean I have an uncorrected desire inside of me, why does he need the correction between the two? Why does he make the connection between the fact that there will be no desire left for myself with the general correction of the world?

R. Because then the desire will be complete, resembling, adapting to the Creator, to be clothed in it and to be revealed to everyone.

S. It seems this kind of work here that a person does within himself and also together with the collective?

R. Of course, yes, until one reaches that we will not have the correction of the world.

7. S. (15:54) Rabash writes that, “the whole Earth is full of His glory”, and I say specifically on this Rosh Hashanah, for years people have turned to me in public places, asked about the wisdom and I always avoided that, and after the discussion in the ten and the friend said “if you have an opportunity, even a needle, you should allow it”. And I also felt internally there is a need, there is a place for it, but still, how do you keep the fear of Heaven, the true fear of Heaven before you turn to the general public?

R. I don't know what you're talking about, ‘what is the true fear of Heaven’, where do you want to attain it?

S. How to stay connected to the friends, to the ten before you, to open your mouth before the public?

R. That is something you have to connect before in advance and in a way that you really connect and you are ready to replace each other with each and everything, that is not simple, it's not simple. We need to advance towards each other to such an extent so that each one is willing in each and every moment to trade places with the other, to replace the other.

8. S. (18:00) There is a uniqueness of the prayer during Rosh Hashanah, what should we ask especially from the Creator?

R. We are making a calculation of how we ended the previous year and in what way we want to rise to the next year and to succeed in it. And with this we turn to the Creator so that He will help us to connect to such an extent so that our vessel will be corrected, whole, one. And in it we will feel everything that was prepared from the Creator to people.

9. S. (18:52) This entire article feels like a prayer, is it okay to turn it into a prayer because to me it feels like, “we ask that you will let us feel the glory of the Kingdom, we asked that the kingdom of Heaven be glorified in our hearts, and let Your kingdom be sensed throughout the world”; the entire article is a prayer, was it a prayer that was turned into an article?

R. I didn't understand the question?

S. The question is can we take this article and turn it into a prayer for our ten?

R. Of course, of course you can, the main thing is that it comes out of the heart.

10. S. (20:05) Could I ask about the terrible days?

R. Yes.

S. If a student is at the beginning of his path and he receives a great blow from above during these days of Rosh Hashanah, is this good, is his preparation for new vessels?

R. Yes.

S. So all that is left is to connect with the ten and rise above it?

R. Yes, but that is the main thing.

11. S. (20:59) I'm grateful to the Creator for the joy of being with you here in the lesson, the question is what is the meaning of a month or a year in spirituality or Kabbalah?

R. It is a change of times, it is like the change of laws, qualities, that come down to our world and in them we should know how we will need to behave in a different way than previously.

12. S. (21:50) It is written that the revelation of the kingdom of Heaven for the whole world, that could also be in an individual person, what does it mean that revelation of the whole world inside one body?

R. We will read about it in the future, it is not for now not for now.

13. S. (22:26) We learn daily to be ‘as one man in one heart’, so what does it mean to practically be ‘as one man in one heart’, how do we do it this year, this new year, may we succeed in becoming ‘one man in one heart’?

R. ‘Heart’ means a person's desire so that we should all have connected desires, all of us, and we are all in one desire to be as one and to adhere to the One Creator and there's nothing else.

S. How do we do it this year, what we failed to do last year, what are we focusing on to be ‘as one man in one heart’, to be one vessel?

R. We focus on being as one and then according to that we will start feeling the Creator that awakens Himself, awakening in Him, in us, as One.
