Reader: The topic of our lesson is Everything is Obtained By the Power of Prayer, we’ll read selected excerpts from the sources and we are in excerpt # 7.

Reading: (00:20) 7. Baal HaSulam, Shamati, Article No. 5, "Lishma Is an Awakening from Above, and Why Do We Need an Awakening from Below?"

The prayer must be a complete prayer, from the bottom of the heart. This means that one knows one hundred percent that there is no one in the world who can help him but the Creator Himself.

Yet, how does one know this, that no one will help him but the Creator Himself? One can acquire that awareness precisely if he has exerted all the powers at his disposal and it did not help him. Thus, one must do every possible thing in the world to attain "for the sake of the Creator." Then one can pray from the bottom of the heart, and then the Creator hears his prayer.

M. Laitman: Well, we've already discussed this state for several times, that if a person doesn't feel that he is with the Creator in direct contact, then he has nothing he can do. But during the study, when he feels that he somewhat gets closer to the Creator, that is the time where he has a place to work, meaning, to feel at what distance he's at from the Creator, and where will he take the strength to get closer to the Creator, how should he invest these forces into the connection between him and the Creator, and if he does so on a daily basis, then very quickly he should discover that the Creator hears his prayer.

Question (Kyiv 1): (04:04) How to have a direct connection with the Creator?

M. Laitman: There are two conditions here. First condition: if a person begins the spiritual work and he wants to get closer to the Creator, then he very quickly can reach the sensation of the reality of the Creator. That's on the one hand. But on the other hand, if a person wants to reach the revelation of the Creator, to feel the Creator, but he doesn't know how exactly to format, to piece together the image of the Creator in front of him, then it turns out that he has a difficulty. And then he has many disturbances, and he can't put them in the right place, he hasn't yet learned what to do about these disturbances, because specifically these disturbances, when we connect to them, when we observe them, when we will move away from them, and then bit by bit begin to connect to them, approach them in a way that these disturbances will be seen as accessory, auxiliary forces. So even though they seem to be against us, the work against the disturbances is specifically what brings the person closer beyond the disturbances to attain the disturbances, control the disturbances and with that acquired force a person gets closer to the truth. Well, let's get to more questions.

Question (Latin 11): (07:51) What does it mean to use all the forces?

M. Laitman: We need to reach a connection with the Creator under the condition that we use all forces that we have in order to turn to Him, in order to adhere to Him. That's what we need to check.

Question (ITA 4): (08:42) It's written that He is the first and He is the last. In the current state, how do we hasten the time of correction?

M. Laitman: He is the first, before creation, and He is the last, meaning that He ends creation, and there is no other force in our whole world and in all the worlds that controls them except for the Creator. That's how we have to accept it. And later on, He reveals Himself.

Question (Moscow 7): (09:48) It's written that you should address Him from the bottom, from the depth of the heart. What is that depth of the heart and how to reach request that comes from the depth of the heart?

M. Laitman: We have to call the Creator through all kinds of connections we have with Him, so that our relation towards Him would be constantly in the same direction, only towards Him. Our relations to Him will be equal, the qualities that we'd want to receive from Him will be different. If we work in that way, so gradually, something will be formulated in us that resembles the Creator. In this vessel called a soul, Neshama, will start feeling the Creator as the one who fills our soul.

Question (Woman Latin 26): (12:00) How to raise a complete prayer, a whole prayer to gain faith and unite the entirety of the Ten, and by that to bridge over all the gaps and differences in terms of the hours and all the differences between us?

M. Laitman: It's not in the beginning but while we are getting closer to the Creator, from one time to the next, one time to the next - that we we want to unite with Him and then we reach such a state.

Question (Turkiye 1): (12:58) In the text it says that a person has to invest all his energies. So the question is - how can a person invest all of his energy in the Ten, in the friends? From where does he receive such an awakening?

M. Laitman: That force, that desire that I feel I have today, I concentrate it and send it to a place or to a state where I can be in contact with the Creator. In that place I discover the Creator. I also discover myself - who I am, what I am? And then both of us become one, and all of creation becomes revealed in that connection.

Question (W MAK 43): (14:22) Where is the boundary between me having to make an effort and the moment when I need to do nothing and just remain silent?

M. Laitman: I'm not sure I heard you correctly. The connection isn't good. Try and talk closer to the mic. Loudly, not loudly, just softer.

Student: Where's the line between the state where I need to make an effort and the moment where I need to do nothing but to feel what the Creator wants to give me?

M. Laitman: Where that border goes by, that's something a person has to feel. There are no directions, there are no measurements, none of it. That spiritual realm is incorporated from the forces that are revealed before us. And we need to swim inside that space, to sail in it. In a way, that we'll always feel that we can lean on that one force, main force of creation, on one hand. And our egoistic force on our side, that we negate it, we don't use it. And we want, as much as we can, to combine the force of bestowal of the Creator.

Question (Turkiye 7): (16:42) How to achieve the maximum quality and quantity in our work, in every action we take?

M. Laitman: To discover all the forces that a person has to direct them all towards the Creator. You can do that only under the condition that we will connect between us in corporeality, as much as we can. That is the foundation, that's what we exist on. And according to the Creator's plan, we have connected in this way and got to know each other and became a group. On one hand. On the other hand, we have to think - what really is this connection we have? That we are all single, single, single individuals, like points. If we want to discover the form of connection between us, that form is all those points, which is each one of us, that they come and connect together between them, and their form, when they connect, explains to us the character of our vessel, the style of the vessel. That in this vessel, we can already discern between all those different forces, and all kinds of pieces of information that are secondary, that should be our relation, our tendency - that we want to discover the Creator. If a person doesn't feel that every day he wants to be more connected to the friends, that only in the connection between them, only in the connection between us, he can open, discover, reveal the Creator in his world. He can open and reveal the Creator's influence on him. If he doesn't have that before him, so too bad. He has to make efforts in this a lot of times, all the time, from morning till night.

Question (Lithuania 1): (20:42) These disruptions you talked about, how to see them in our path as something that assists us?

M. Laitman: The disturbances happen through the bestowal of the Creator on purpose. He awakens these disturbances in us. The disturbances force us to connect between us, and in the connection between us, scrutinize why those qualities, why we have these qualities, where they came from, what is the purpose of creation, how we can draw the friends into our Ten? That is the Creator's work, and that's our response to those questions. He is the one awakening those questions in us.

Question (PT 35): (22:13) You just said that a person has to make efforts from morning to evening, every day. So, at what point should he invest all of his energy, everything at his disposal?

M. Laitman: He needs to reach a desire, and in that desire, he can discover the upper force that sends all the disturbances to him, in mind and in feeling. Then, through those disturbances, he reveals the upper force.

Student: And all the energies he should invest, are these the powers of prayer he has? Is it everything he can do without the Creator's assistance? Which energies, powers are we talking about exactly?

M. Laitman: We are talking about forces that a person wants to build as an example from the Creator, a system where he, in his force of bestowal towards everyone, will be maximum bestowing, as much as he can. And then he'll see that it is impossible to constantly be only bestowing, because after a certain time, the forces leave him, and it already doesn't seem so interesting, and then he falls. That's why we need to learn about the special relations we can connect between us, and in that net of forces, in that net of those forces, we can hunt those thoughts, desires, actions that the Creator, through His bestowal, His influence on those different vessels, He awakens it around us. Then it turns out that those actions that He is establishing around us, if we want to learn from them, so we ask, and from all those requests, we come to an understanding why did the Creator do that to us, organize that for us?

Question (MAK 11): (26:50) Do we need to feel the Creator enjoying our work?

M. Laitman: Yes. We need to a certain extent to feel bestowal from the Creator. How He responds to our attitude towards Him?

Question (PT 8): (27:48) What is more important to start the work? Is it to connect or is it to bestow?

M. Laitman: To overcome or to bestow?

Reader: What is more important in the work, connecting with the friends or bestowing upon the Creator?

M. Laitman: To connect with the friends, it's still not a complete action, but you connect to the friends, you hug them, and you have some kind of action, knowledge, some calling, something common between you. This is a type of connection that every person can do, can perform, but along with those things, we need to ask here, what do they bring us to? This force that now wants to reveal itself, what is it leading me towards? And that's the question. If we want to reach an answer for that question, so we need to reach, to absorb that upper force in us, to receive it in us. Then we can feel that upper force - that in the beginning we felt it as surrounding light, that is in all the space around and which I am also in.  But when it awakens me through forces, I start feeling as much as His forces affect me, affect me for the good, or sometimes not for the good, sometimes they work on me to distance me away from Him, or sometimes they draw me towards Him, it all depends on how this upper force develops towards me.

Question (W Spain): (32:15) The question is regarding direct contact. Can it be said that contact with the Creator goes through barriers?

M. Laitman: Yes, of course. We come closer to the Creator through obstacles.

Question (W Heb 1): (32:50) I heard you say that we need to reach the absorption of the upper force into us. By what means? What can we do to absorb the Creator's power?

M. Laitman: If I still don't feel the upper force, so I don't have anything to do yet. While I am working, studying, writing for a family - along with all that I scrutinize still who are those friends that are with me together connected, supposedly connected together in order to attain the Creator? And then, when we hear what the friends are talking about, we learn from them. What else could we receive? What else could we learn? How else could I come closer to them to understand this method that they are talking about, the intensity of their discussion? This way we can understand each other more and more.

Question (W Turkiye 8): (35:31) In the excerpt we read, that Baal HaSulam says that the prayer must be a complete prayer, from the bottom of the heart, which means that one knows 100% that there is no one in the world who can help him but for the Creator Himself. So, she is asking, what inner actions should we take to reach such a state where we know 100% that there is no one in the world who can help but for the Creator Himself. What inner actions should we take to achieve that, to reach that?

M. Laitman: First of all, even through our intellectual research, that we're scrutinizing with our minds, with our inner forces, that we check what do we have from gathering, wanting to receive, to send something, and in this way, we go through all these. Let's say, go through all this porridge we have in the pot. That's how we advance.

Question (W Rehovot 1): (37:34)  How does a person reach a prayer that's from the bottom of the heart?

M. Laitman: Gradually, he has to reach the depth of his heart. He has to check what really is my most inner true prayer, and that prayer, he needs to develop, and to extract it out of himself, and give it, send it to the Creator.

Student: Right now, with everything happening in Israel, what prayer does the Creator expect from us?

Reader: When rockets are falling on Israel, what kind of prayer does the Creator want to hear from us?

M. Laitman: That we're not dealing with these missiles, but with our relation towards Him, because only from that, we can rise above, above all the degrees between us, and the end of correction.

Question (W KabU 2): (39:02) Sometimes, when the Creator wants to send me a revelation, He sends it with such force that it's almost too much for me. I understand the revelation, He makes it very clear, but the forces are almost too great. What can I do?

M. Laitman: Check a few times, and then show it to the Creator, that you can’t work with such big forces, and better if they were a bit smaller. Now, it's also important, do you want to diminish the Creator's influence on you, so the forces will become smaller, in order to not rise too much, and then fall?

Question (W Turkiye): (41:07) If a person feels that the more he works, the more distant he grows from the Creator, how can he deliver his prayer to the Creator? How can he raise his prayer to the Creator, if he feels that the more he advances in the work, he's just growing distant to the Creator?

M. Laitman: It doesn't matter. Towards the Creator, it's not like a regular line - one after the other, one after the other, standing in line. Towards the Creator - whoever feels that he must get help. Otherwise, through him, the world will really get punished. Those people succeed.

Question (W Heb 1): (42:27) I heard you tell the friend that I need to scrutinize and see who the friends who are with me together and who are connected with me together for the purpose of reaching the Creator. What do you mean by this? What is this scrutiny?

M. Laitman: The meaning is, for us, that the main thing is to advance towards this general understanding of the Creator, that the force of the Creator will bestow upon us, on me, let's say, on all of me. And that from that, I'll receive forces, desires, deeds, attainments, qualities, such that, all in all, when they are revealed in me, they fill a bit the desires in my soul. From this, I can receive them and work with them, even to invert them. Meaning, it's really a combination of forces that are all - one against the other, one against the other, and I, in them, in the middle, between them, I need to locate the central point of mine.

Question (PT 29): (44:38) Can we, especially in the current situation, get closer to the Creator, to increase our connection with Him and not to fall into casual relations?

M. Laitman: It all depends how we accept the disturbances that the Creator is inviting in us. What is unclear? Where do we have what we feel? Obviously, it's all only from the Creator. We need a normal way to relate to Him and somehow to constantly be checking what's happening to me, what's coming from the Creator, how I have to respond, what forces I need in order to answer Him correctly, and in this way advance.

Student: So, that exactly is the question. It's all about raising the connection between us and the Creator in that situation. As you said, what is the normal response that should take place? Perhaps give us the beginning, how should we react, respond correctly, so as to truly behave like adults who want to come closer to the Creator?

M. Laitman: Adults that want to come closer to the Creator, every time they search, not how to advance, but in order, in which way, with all forces of nature, what connection has to be, in order to advance very nicely, from one state to the next.

Question (Petah Tikva Center): (47:15) If I heard correctly, you said that from all of the forces by which he sees that the Creator is operating on him, he needs to find his own central point of the self.

M. Laitman: No, we didn't talk about that today.

Student: Okay, I thought I heard something to that, in that nature. What should a person do with all the actions he finds the Creator takes towards him?

M. Laitman: He wants to be in the middle line into that system that the Creator created, until he reaches the center of that system, and that's the state, that's his state.

Student: The middle line between what and what?

M. Laitman: The middle line between what the Creator brings him as the shattered vessels, and what the Creator reveals to him as the upper light.

Student: So, to ascribe the revelation of his qualities, as well as the Creator's qualities, to the Creator, that's the meaning of bringing him to the middle line?

M. Laitman: Yes, without that, he can't advance.

Question (W Latin 26): (49:20) How through the obstacles on the way, working with the obstacles, do we give contentment to the Creator?

M. Laitman: Because we always raise MAN to correct our desires between us, and gradually, layer after layer, when we correct them, then they are truly corrected, the upper light comes closer to them, to our desires that are already incorporated in one another in some way, and we reach a state that the upper light can already illuminate in our desires in a constant way.
