Baal HaSulam. A Speech for the Completion of The Zohar ("So is the soul: After it has acquired equivalence with Him,")

Reading “So is the soul…”

1. R. (03:21) It is clear then what is the process the minute we cancel these partitions between us, these barriers between us and we cancel them between us and the Creator and then the upper light, which is the Creator, enters and feels us and brings us feelings, thoughts and qualities of the Creator and we become as it says as an ever flowing spring.

2. S. (03:55) Becomes an overflowing fountain knowing the thoughts, but still he wants adhesion without all these extra additions, he wants adhesion.

R. This all describes the many ways of adhesion, this describes the way of adhesion.

S. So what is the highest stage of adhesion?

R. Complete adhesion, end of correction but all of those degrees that he has now referring to in different names are those degrees on the way to the complete degree.

S. By knowing the thoughts of the Creator that is called bestowal?

R. Of course, because the thoughts of the Creator are bestowal and if he knows it, meaning he attains it, he is in the degree where he too is bestowing like the Creator and then he attains it according to equivalence of form.

3. S. (05:05) He who studies Torah Lishma is rewarded with the secrets of the Torah and we did not discover them yet, we are not for her sake, so what are we doing in the work now?

R. We are in the preparation and this is also a very special degree, how many people in the world do you have that are dealing with such a thing?

S. One engaging in Torah Lishma he aims to give contentment to his maker, so what are we giving now to the Creator.

R. We are approaching it to give contentment to the Creator.

S. Now are we giving him contentment when we study?

R. Also right now.

S. We are giving advancement?

R. Yes.

S. We are advancing.

R. We are advancing yes but you are not discovering it yet, it would only stand in your way.

4. S. (06:16) The thoughts of the Creator is how to benefit us, to do good to us?

R. We will get there and see, of course it is to do good in general, it is to do good to the creatures.

5. What does it mean to know his thoughts on our behalf?

R. That we too are included in those desires and thoughts of the Creator meaning to know to be incorporated with, to touch it, to absorb it. From the word and Adam knew Eve, his wife, to know means to connect.

S. So what is the action of “like him”?

R. Then we receive through this point of contact we acquire these qualities and become like him. become similar to him.

6. S.( 07:23) Is the disparity of form of the will to receive expressed in this connection constantly?

R. It is always like that because there could not be any form of contact with the Creator unless it includes disconnection and connection, darkness and light, minus and plus together. Otherwise it will not be contact, it cannot be, you need to have these two forms in nature, the Creator and the created being together. Meaning the creature has to rise above his nature of reception and be in the same form as the Creator who is bestowing and to the extent of equivalence of form they become connected and adhere to one another.

7. S. (08:24) Is there a way to take upon ourselves Lishma for a goal, that is the purpose and that is what we want to reach?

R. It is revealed gradually, you cannot just say I obligate to reach Lishma, what do you get out of those words? It is like a baby would say it.

Reading (08:55) “Indeed the whole Torah…”

8. S. (10:35) I wanted to ask what is that rope that the group tosses?

R. The degree of bestowal that exists between the friends and between the friends and the Creator and from the Creator to them, all of that is called the rope. Where although there are certain qualities in each and every one there is still a possibility to throw the rope and to come closer to one another and in this way to connect above the desire, above the knowledge that exists in each and every one.

S. How to grab onto the rope?

R. By wanting to do something for his benefit and I aim at him even without the action you can say that I am throwing a rope to save him but if I also disclose that I am doing it and I wish to help him and I expect adhesion with him but together we will go and succeed then it means that I threw a rope to the friend and with this rope we can exist together and approach the Creator.

Reading (12:08) “Hence the Torah and Mitzvot…”

9. S. (13:08) Engaging in Torah Lishma, here it is written when they can give contentment to the Creator?

R. Yes, you are in a state where your desires although they are fundamentally egoistic, you turn them into the intention to bestow and by carrying them out in the connection between you and the ten and all the people in the world, perhaps you aim them at the Creator and in this way, you are performing acts of bestowal.

S. I know that the Creator gets pleasure from this?

R. It depends on the degree of connection you have with him, it is possible that they do not reveal to you these actions by which you give contentment to the Creator, it is possible that you are showing those. It depends on your level of development if you can receive the reaction of the Creator that he enjoys you in such a way that you would not be proud about it by yourself but rather develop yet another greater desire to bestow then it is revealed in you and if you are incapable yet to turn this beautiful of revelation of the Creator to in order to bestow then it is not going to be revealed to you, so as not to push you away.

S. How to hold on to the focus specifically towards bestowal that I do everything to bestow to him and I do not take more?

R. To the extent that you aim yourself at them you are actually aim at the Creator from that, after preparing those relationships between the friends then it is clear to you that you can now transform the world, carry them over to the Creator. It is like we study the spiritual Partzuf to the extent that all the Sefirot connect to Malchut and are willing to work with the reflected light towards it in such a way, we advance towards him, we are in contact with him.

S. What does it mean Malchut?

R. Malchut is our mutual will to receive that we are willing to connect in order to bestow to the Creator.

S. The Malchut of the upper one, it is not my Malchut that has to be restricted?

R. Do not get confused with all sorts of formless things, there is no philosophy here, there are ten people let's say and they all want to connect and all of their connections are organized in such a way that they are all aimed from each one to the rest of the nine friends. Then they connect all of those bestowals from each one to the other nine friends, that is all connected together so you have nine Sefirot and the 10th Sefirot is Malchut and that is all ascribed to the Creator, that is such a way they want to bestow to him and receive him, what does it mean to receive him? To absorb his will to bestow in order to give him contentment.

S. Is there a force that comes through the friends?

R. Of course, they connect their forces into one, they ascribe it to the Creator and the Creator in that force clothes and is revealed in them as direct light, inner light.

10. S. (17:48) What does it mean to come to work for the Creator from doing the spiritual work for your sake? What does it mean from working for the Creator to working for yourself?

R. that I try with the friends to reach a state where I aim myself for their good in everything that I do and if I can do that, so I aim myself through the ten also to the Creator, that I've organized my vessel in such a way that now I can aim everything towards him. Towards the Creator.

11. S. (18:46) Not long ago you said that when you came to the environment of the Kabbalists you did not understand right away how they care for one another, it took some time. Let's say Rabash and Baal HaSulam were in that environment physically and then the theoretical material was integrated after a while it also took them some time. How can we, small people who have died examples, we have the theoretical material and your direction which is also theoretical? How can that bring us to a practical understanding of what to do?

R. We learn it all the time and you hear us all the time and if you ask us such questions I have nothing to answer. I guess I did not teach you right. I do not know what else to answer. You need to try, we need to try and connect between us in order to bestow to the group the general direction connection and from this general connection we will discover the general force that is above us like a cloud and that is the Creator. That to the extent that we between us assemble relationships of bestowal by that we give the Creator and ability to descend and dwell between us.

S. I want to clarify, I am afraid to give an example or to take a negative example from the friends. Is there such a thing as a negative example?

R. That could be but if I try to do everything that is written as much as I understand, as much as I can, so my mistakes will not be mistakes, like a baby, like a child that obviously he does things incorrectly but it is all according to his degree, it is still right.

12. S. (21:33) Do we need to reach a revelation of the Creator in the ten before we can give him contentment?

R. Again?

S. Do we need to reach a revelation of the Creator in the ten before we can then give him contentment?

R. In practice of course that's how we do it, but before that we want to organize between us such relationships that there will be all aimed to give contentment up to the Creator but that's through  giving contentment to all the friends.

13. S. (22:34) Baal HaSulam writes that any person can grab hold of the rope called Torah and Mitzvot. Can a person from the nation of the world also do it, and if so, how?

R. A person from the world can't do anything only if he enters the system and connects to a ten in some kind of way and with the ten together can give contentment to the Creator to enter a spiritual system because the system is included of a vessel, which is the ten and the light.

14.S. (23:30) It says that the end of the rope is near to all the people. How can we use this condition in the best possible way?

R. You need to try and do what's written in the sources of the Kabbalah, connect between you, assemble tens, well not ten, let it be less, it doesn't matter, but assemble all those relationships that are demanded from a group of Kabbalists that from this they give an example as much as corporeal simple, that is clear to them, and then from that group turn to the Creator and then from the connection between them and the Creator to put together that connection. But to the extent that they can connect between them that they study from their sources that the Kabbalists wrote they can also connect from between them to the Creator. That's what we try to come closer to and realize it, to implemented it, then in the connection between them they can discover the Upper force called Lishma, in order to bestow, action of bestowing, bestowing in order to bestow, receiving in order to bestow, and so on, until they discover more and more the Upper force. Where do they discover it? In the relationships between them, that's what happens.

Continues reading: Item 25 (26:46) “They are also called worlds…”

Continues reading: Item 25 (28:40) “The reason we compare the Creator's thoughts…” Twice

15. S. (31:28) How does the vessel that accepts the thoughts of the Creator and without limiting them to how to obtain it?

R. There isn't such a thing that a vessel doesn’t limit. A vessel is already a limitation.

16. S. (31:53) He speaks about the secrets and tastes of the Torah. What are the secrets of the Torah?

R. There's Razin, secrets, and Sodot, which is another word for secrets. Raz is something we can all attain and Sod is a higher secret that only special people can attain. It's different degrees but eventually we will all attain everything.

S. You said two minutes ago that to give contentment to the Creator you have to give contentment to the friends. I never heard you say that. What do you mean to give contentment to the friends?

R. Contentment to the friends you can do also in a corporeal way and if you do it and the friends enjoy you can aim them towards the Creator, that in such a way you want to give contentment to the Creator.

S. Why am I asking? Because with contentment to the friends it turns out sometimes that the friends end up angry, insulted.

R. Those are your friends

S. No, there are many tens, I hear it, many tens, explosions, it's not like they have contentment from trying to bring them closer to the Creator, so what do you do then, what kind of contentment?

R. We learn how to do it.

S. Meaning?

R. That's it, that we have to know how to give contentment to the friends by showing them each one towards the other how we come closer to the Creator. That's our main purpose, and in that we want to show the friends how we do it.

S. And gently towards the friends not to be not to insult him of course, special work when you suddenly have hate and then love, I don’t understand when you say to give contentment I don’t understand, what does it mean to give contentment to the friend?

R. What you’re explaining here only happens in your group.

S. My group?

R. And the rest of the groups don't have something like that, they're all in love and in bestowal and gracious to one another. Just like that. It’s only in your group.

S. So do we have to replace the group?

R. Nobody will be willing to take you.

S. That’s an addition.

R. What to take a virus from some kind of place and bring it to the right group?

S. I’m trying to open up this thing with you. By coming to different blow ups in the group and people jump out and they want to leave and know that the work is like that in order to develop the power of overcoming. So how to make sure the friend doesn’t run out of the window when you say some wrong word to him?

R. Only by concern of the importance of the goal, that the group is constantly concerned about it, because of each and every moment the group advances meaning the will to receive grows, the contradictions stand out more, and if we won't work on still working together, that we understand that it's the Creator revealing more and more of the will to receive that he created, so we won't be able to take care correctly of what's happening to us and by that we won't get close to him.

S. You said we will never advance unless you learn how to do it, you said it.

R. We are getting treatment from above and we're constantly advancing but we forget that all this comes from the Creator alone, None Else Besides Him, and then according to that we got instructions how to take care of what he's doing to us so we have to work on it. We're in a very special state that the Creator is taking care and all its forces with us and all opportunities and we aren't responding correctly, that's why we are behind.

S.You said not react correctly, what do you mean that we're not reacting correctly? Maybe that’s the solution.

R. That we need to awaken one another with the knowledge of why we're not connected, why we're not reaching the Creator, why the Creator is not responding to us. That's because we, we're not gathering correctly, we're not connecting correctly, we're not presenting ourselves to him correctly, we have to be more connected, more united.

S. And not take it personally?

R. That's obvious.

17. S. (37:18). It's not clear here, if the friend hates me and he gets ticked off by everything I say and do, how can we come to something together?

R. Pray to the Creator, pray to the Creator. You can even tell the Creator, Why are you doing this to me, that this friend hates me, because it's the Creator doing it, because None Else Besides Him, so ask the Creator why is he doing this to you? That's it. And the Creator wants for you that I'm doing this in order to bring you closer, I want you to be closer to me.

18. S. (38:29) What does it mean to throw a rope? Does it mean to hold onto a rope?

R. That I put my hand out to the friend, I help him, he helps me, we all of us together are drawn to ask from the Creator to give him a hand, to pull us, to fill our vessel.

19. S. (39:04) What does it mean that one who comes to a degree can not know and attain the existence of another degree?

R. That's the nature of the ladder, on the degree I'm on, so I know the whole ladder that I ascended up till now but more above I cannot see, I don't know, that's the nature of the degrees.

20. S. (39:35). What does it mean for the benefit of the ten? Do they have to like it or at least identify the common goal?

R. We need to gradually understand and acknowledge that were part of one soul, the soul of Adam HaRishon and our goal, our final goal that we must reach, whether we want to or not, it’s not important, the Creator will obligate us to want it that we’ll all incorporate in one final goal and in that point we will all be included with no differences between them, with no distance between us, and then the Creator can be revealed in a whole way and that's the purpose of life. As much as now that we are starting to understand it and feel it, and even in something do it in the connection between us so we're bringing the state closer, we're drawn to it, we give it life, and then we don't reach it by blows but through us being drawn to it, we develop a yearning for it, the fact that we want to be connected we are developing a positive force towards the goal, if we don't do it so we're advancing from the blows from behind and that's our choice, that's where the freedom of choice is, you want it through the good force please, if not so through suffering.

21. S. (41:35) How can we tell what qualities, are we are missing in order to form a connection with him and be together with him, to bestow with the Creator?

R. We're only missing one thing, importance of connection, which we have to open that and develop it together between the friends. Nothing but that is important because we're speaking about our vessel that it was shattered and we have to put it back together again, to correct it, to make it whole.

22. S. (42:15) What can a ten do if it has the virus of hate in it, how can it diagnose itself and see if it's healthy or not, and what can heal it?

R. They are healed only if they want to be together and something in they'll discover as much as they can’t and ask the Creator to connect them all, that's what they need to do. That's why, there isn't someone who succeeds or not but success depends on as much as we realize the connection between us and discover that we can't and then we'll turn to the Creator and cry and the Creator will do it, that's called that we succeed.

23. S. (43:05). Why does Baal HaSulam write that there are typically twenty-five degrees, are there times it's not so?

R. No, it's like that, we just call it that way in general, there's more that we don't divide them into little details but actually it's like we learn, 125 degrees from here until Gmar Tikkun which is five worlds and five Sefirot and five Partzufim, there’s five Partzufim in every world and five Sefirot in every Partzuf so that’s five times five times five it’s 125 degrees from here until the end of correction and we'll have to rise in the connections between us.

24. S. (43:55) What's the difference between 125 degrees and all the worlds?

R. So I just said it, it's five worlds and every world there's five Partzufim and in every Parzuf five Sefirot.

25. S. (44:12) The women’s Kli gathers daily for prayer with hundreds of women. How do you recommend using this meeting as preparation for the Congress?

R. I think that, well I don't know the meeting and how much time it takes, but I think that everyone should understand what the plan ,and how it's put together, what we have to do and how we can help it succeed, that's important, how we can connect during the Congress in order to support the flow of the Congress, the flow of the materials. The main thing is how we warm up our hearts so they'll all melt in the Congress and connect as one heart, and that's how we will attain the goal. We can take a big jump ahead.
