1. Rav’s Introduction: The matter of creation is the will to receive in order to receive and if it would be revealed and it's true form then there would be no possibility to exist in it because each one word without any calculation just eat up the other, kill the other without any reason, just out of the reason his will to receive cannot tolerate having anything else besides himself. There for the whole of humanity, the whole of creation is developing out of this fundamental, smallest will to receive and it develops more and more gradually and according to how it develops it also builds within it systems so that it can also defend itself, overcome the will to receive that has no limits, placing boundaries on it because it sees it otherwise it cannot advance or exist. Therefore the will to receive begins to feel that it begins from a spec, from a black point and as it develops it already starts developing in such a way that it realizes and feels bit by bit it's connection in others the necessity for this connection and if not there are laws in the lower forms than itself, just like we have the still vegetative in animal. So the animate it feels around it to still and vegetative that it can chill and use for its sustenance this is how it is for each and every one on every level through the lower levels itself.

This is how we advance. Why am I talking about it? In order for us to realize in the development of the will to receive from one generation to the next specifically as it develops it builds for us the generations, the degrees and the relations between us, the differences between us. In our process if we will jump closer to the direction of men when the will to receive was still small in the beginning of creation, the creation of man then we were able to manage it correctly through suffering, reward and punishment in short. Whereas when the will to receive grew more the system became more complicated, people started using it and taking advantage of each other. They began to establish all kinds of boundaries and borders in the relations between them and then it became impossible only through suffering to correct the ego and to bring people to connection. Then came the reforming light that in the beginning it was sufficient for a person to have a reward and punishment, some fear and also some prize as it is said the bread with the salts drink a little water and sleep on the ground, if you were living with such restriction it would be enough for you to live with such restriction and keep it in order to correct the will to receive. Because the will to receive is also in you in such a small degree, with such a small intensity, however when the desire grows it is not enough for us to limit ourselves corporeally, it doesn't affect the desire maybe even the opposite of the fact that you are taking on such mortifications you could even be proud of it and think that it deserves more and more.

Then this matter of mortifications stopped. You shall eat bread with salt, but rather now a greater force is required that will be able to restrain the egoistic desire and this comes only already through the Torah as we call it. The Torah means the methods for drawing the light from above that this method brings a person the force so that he can restrain his will to receive in order to receive, man's ego and then the person can in some directed manner as much as he uses the Torah, this light from above, he changes and those changes that he gets through the light they bring him to connect with foreign desires and to see them not as foreign but as those that are essential for him that he has to connect and unite with them. Specifically in the connection between them, not by himself anymore as it was before the students of Rabbi Shimon that they built this fundamental 10, but rather each one was living in attaining the Creator personally. Those who had the desire and ability according to the plan of creation this is how they were, how they advanced. We are already working after the time frame of the Zohar an additional time up to Baal HaSulam and Rabash where we are no longer capable in our generation of managing our will to receive in any way, it has grown so much and it is controlling us to such an extent that I cannot by limiting myself corporeally as it says, eat bread was soft and sleep on the ground, by that I cannot destroy my ego so that it will agree to be modest, humble and that it will allow me to perform all kinds of actions that are above it.

Then we reach a state where only the upper force, the Creator himself shines and this is called the reforming bite and only this force actually help us, that is the same light that begets and established is my will to receive and of the whole of creation, that same force, that same light also helps me to correctly use this desire. That is I am already turning to the same source which becomes both the source for the evil inclination and the source for the good inclination and I arranged them so that I am in the middle. It is as if I am managing creation in such a way, here is such a great will to receive and this is how we need to learn how to use this correctly. Then it turns out that from the side of the Creator, we have two forces, we have as it says I have created the evil inclination and the reforming light is from the side of the Creator, from our side when we reach such a desire then we also need to acquire the other force, the reforming light. That desire that we get from the Creator that awakens within us we have to try to establish it correctly in order to bestow. This is why in our time, mortifications won't help us and the study won't help us or all kinds of other things, isolating ourselves, Kabbalist in previous generations use those as means to limit and restrain their will to receive in order to manage it correctly, in our time it doesn't work because the will to receive has become much greater than we truly need the force of a light which we draw through certain actions that they Kabbalist each of us and only through this lights will do well to receive take upon itself the treatment, the treatment from the light itself. This is how we can arrange ourselves to be similar to the Creator, to be similar to bestowal.

2. S. (12:15) How does the light helps to overcome the will to receive?

R. It is a force that stands against the will to receive, there is the force of bestowal, love and connection and by shining over the will to receive with its force it's subjugates the will to receive and then the will to receive doesn't feel to some extent or even at all its inclination to rule because the nature of the will to receive is I will rule, I will be king, this is what it has within it. Then a person feels that it is possible that I with this same will to receive that exists within me that the control of the will to bestow upon it, that I will truly feel that I can control it. This is how a person begins to advance with two reins, at first he understands that he exists either in this or in that, either in to receive or to bestow to some extent, various ascent and descent later on knowing he learns how to manage these forces. That you cannot have one without the other and that we have to fight in such a way that both of them will be connected together optimally so that love covers all crimes so that if there is no hatred there won't be any love if there's no darkness there won't be any light, we need to have both of them and then darkness shall shine as the light.

S. How do we draw and acquire such a force?

R. How do we get the force of the light, this is what we are studying even now, how do we get this remedy of the light so that this force will come to us to influence us so much so that we will feel that we exist in the will to bestow, in the desire to give, in the desire to connect and sometimes we have such inclinations and it is because some illumination, is influencing us from above. But we also want to manage the illumination so that we will demand it and it will, according to our demand because we do want to exist in such a way. That the more we have the evil inclination the more we will also have the reforming light which is called Torah as a spice, this is the light that comes according to the purpose, according to a special planning from above that they come gradually upon each and every desire that exists within us. There are lights that are standing up above shining on these desires and we can demand that these desires and the light so that the lights will influence the desires and the desires will enter in under the lights in between the connection between them we will understand the lights, to receive them and apply them within us this is called the study of Torah. That the ”I” that changes in the desire each and every time we will draw a greater light and this is how we will understand all of these lights add how we can draw them, receive them and on which qualities they influence and what exactly do they change.

3. S. (17:23) What is the specific action that brings the drawing of the reforming light in the 10?

R. We will learn this, soon we will get into this more and more this is why we learn many introductions through all of our lessons over the last year and now we are precisely reaching the learning of how to influence the light with which intensity, and which form to influence us. Out of that we will learn the Torah, meaning the method by which we discover the Creator.

4. S. (18:24) Why does the will to receive not receive the values of bestowal from the second phase of the four phases of direct light?

R. We will learn about it and you will know where you are jumping ahead and you're not understanding the question with no beginning and no end.

S. Why is there an external force of bestowal that's why the desire needs to be impressed by why is it not imprinted from the beginning?

R. Forget about Phase 2, why are you confusing everyone?

S. Why is it not imprinted from its very development?

R. Because in creation there is an upper force, the Creator and the will to receive that he created outside of himself which is the nature of the created thing and these two parts need to stay and one opposite the other. Also, in the Creator himself the will to receive does not exist, God forbid and also in the created being there is no will to bestow there is only a spark that the Creator placed within it so that he will be able to get to know, to start getting to know the will to bestow. If the created being would include within himself these two parts then it would be on the degree of this still, vegetative and animate that to begin with have these two opposite forces and they have a certain connection between them so they can develop one on top of the other just like the atoms and molecules. This can be only on the degrees of the still, vegetative and animate and these two forces have a natural connection between them following the laws of nature that is through the Creator who established it to begin with. Here the upper desire is that we will be as God knowing the good and the bad so it will be bad for us, we will have the bad and later on it will connect with the good for us and we will know how we can connect them correctly, these two forces, the good and the bad, the will to receive and the will to bestow. Then it says and you shall be as God knowing the good and the bad this is why they cannot exist in a single body just like in us, in our body you have the entire body and the whole of creation in general that includes two parts like you are saying. How come there is no bad desire or good desire in a person, there is no such thing in Adam, all of those things are only for himself and possible for the detriment of others. Opposite desires that exist in a single body we don’t have, rather they exist for the purpose of the common corporeal goal but if it is spiritual then we have to position them by ourselves, try to think about it more and you will see it.

5. S. (23:51) How can we as a 10 control the evil that bestows upon us?

R. With the same intensity you want to connect between you, you are drawing and bringing closer the upper lights to you. With the same intensity by which you are distancing from each other, then the upper light, according to the law of equivalence of form, also distances from you. This is why we have no choice. In our history, we existed in such a way that people independently, by themselves, would come closer to the Creator. And this is until the time of mankind, the time of Adam. Meaning there was Adam and his children -- meaning his school of thoughts, the circles that he taught, and before Adam, there were individual people who did not come together or connect, they didn't need to draw the reforming light through connection between them. It was the desire within each one of them was sufficient, that one wanted to approach the Creator, and out of that he was drawn to Him. But starting with Adam HaRishon and onward, the system begins to be built, become revealed, so that it is already a system that includes within it individuals that need to come together, to connect into a system with connection between them. Meaning that in order to rise above, it's not enough for me to rise above my will to receive rather besides that, I also need to cancel my will to receive in such a way that I adapt myself to connection with others. This is something altogether different, that is, the fact that I rise above myself towards the Creator, that I annul myself, is something that is simple. But adapting myself towards others, so that according to my ego I see them as lesser than myself, maybe I want to rule them and here, specifically, I need to do the opposite. In order to connect with them, I need to make out of myself a zero and this is already a problem. This started from the stage where the same will to receive that was broken needs only to grow in itself, personally and individually, but also to start connecting with others. This is why and how it was done, historically. They started to come closer, not to Babylon from the time of Adam HaRishon to Babylon and from Babylon to Rashbi, Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai. All of this is only in order to attain the reforming light. We have to realize that the whole of Torah, what we read and study and the advice of the Kabbalists that we hear is in order to draw the reforming light. This is the only thing that we are lacking and nothing else. The egoistic desire exists within us and it develops to the extent that we can draw the reforming light. If I draw a greater reforming light then the will to receive that I have, it can only be by connecting with foreign desires to receive in the 10s. Then I advance myself faster. I'm not waiting for my will to receive to grow and then I will require the reforming light to come correct it. However if I am not going in advancement towards society, looking for connections, then I am just waiting for my will to receive to grow, to awaken, and in that it will obligate me, compel me. So here, we already have Beito, ‘in its time’, and Achishena, ‘hastening’. Who do we advance? We advance according to the desire that awakens, or we accelerate the time. And we want to promote and advance ourselves faster. Faster is through prayer, through the revelation of deficiencies that also come on behalf of the lower one, instead of waiting for the upper one. This is called that: ‘I awaken the dawn, not that dawn awakens me’. We will learn all these details more and more.

6. S. (30:14) Other than the difference between Mishnah and the Talmud, the idea that we have the way of suffering and the Torah. You are saying we have the choice and the control to choose the easy way and the force is in our hands we just need to choose correctly?

R Yes.

S. Why do we fall each time? It’s so clear, so obvious.
R. We don't fall, we get a new, greater desire. This is why it seems to us we're falling but we are only advancing.

7. S. (31:16) What is this light that we are talking about, the light of Torah?

R. It is the force of bestowal that comes from above.

S. We talked about suffering and the things in Torah, you know, 40 people were killed in Mt Meron in the Torah that is suffering. Why do these things happen?

R. Don’t say they were killed because of the Torah. You need to check out whatever you're saying.

S. Now at this moment.

R. We went with Rabash, the group of students on Lag B’ Omer each and every year until 1983, 1984 something like that. In those years they started to come with all kinds of freaks and such people. Well, first of all it was youngsters, men and women which wasn't very customary and then Rabash said, “That’s it.” In the last year we were there, it was truly a big problem for us to go in there. We had to, really it was almost like a fight. They would let us get in. People would come there for a few weeks, even, and would take up their place and wouldn’t let others in. So we saw that it is becoming a place which truly is not sanctity. It's not that ‘each shall help his friend’, it’s not a place of bestowal and showing love to each other, completely not. It was a place of pride and looking down on others. So we stopped coming. And nowadays, 40 years later? What are you expecting to be there?

S. Is there a reason for all of these sufferings and disasters that are happening to the people of Israel?

R. They have no connection to the Zohar to Rabbi Shimon, to the study of the wisdom of Kabbalah. They just go there in order to be proud and take part of the next world, as it seems to them.

S. This is what I'm trying to ask you. Are there certain conditions where I can draw the reforming light as maximally as possible, or does it depend on the person and how to bestow connection?

R. It has nothing to do with the place, location. It has to do with the desire, the desire is called ‘place.’ This is why if you are connected to the friends and you turn to the Creator, and from your connection you want to build such a mutual place where the Creator will be able to be revealed, then you are doing the only Mitzva commandment possible. As we stay about the sukkah that a guest has come to our sukkah, it’s called Oushpizin, a guest. It is with each and every thing, all the customs we have are, all in all, only in order to connect so that the reforming light will be able to bestow, restore our connection and in this corrected connection we will discover the Creator

S. What are the best possible conditions to draw the reforming light in the strongest way?

R. To study TES, well this is for degrees that you already understand what you are reading. And you can interpret internally what you are studying, not technically or physically -- it’s not that you are studying about some forces outside of you. Rather, as much as you can awaken by the reading. These forces within you.

S. The daily study that we learn every morning, now?

R. Yes these are the most beneficial hours.

S. To draw the light?

R. Yes. But all the rest depends upon you as much as you will think about it.

8. S. (36:08) The Kabbalist recommend that we act before one another in order to inspire one another. What is the boundary between acting and the modification that the Rav spoke about? R. The game or the acting means that I want to be in a state but I'm not there yet. Like little children who play with games but they imagined to themselves that they are in it, in a true action: that I am driving a car, or I am in the train, or that I am building something. This is considered a game. That even though you haven't yet reached the next degree, you try as much as you can to be in it. Then this game becomes not a game but rather a means for achieving the higher degree in practice. This is how we need to do it.

S. How does a person check himself against unnecessary modifications?

R. This I don't know. As much as it is possible, try to be adhered and attached to the 10, and by that, you can check yourself. The entire scrutiny is nevertheless how much does he want to incorporate in the 10? It is the most repulsive thing, you don't want it, it’s unpleasant, you forget about it. But this is the truth, and the correct scrutiny.

9. S. (38:18) So the big desire is revealed in the person and it’s impossible to overcome some states so how do we draw the light to overcome?

R. This is what we are studying about -- the whole study is about how we draw the reforming light. Instead of having the possibility of sleeping on the ground, and drinking a little water and all of this. That is, through penance and mortifications, you want to destroy the will to receive. When the will to receive was small, this was possible to do in the earlier generations, many years ago. And also there are such light souls, special souls that are close to spirituality, let's say that even today if such a person exists in some state of seclusion, then he can feel it, he can begin to see all the Creator. However, it is not according to the system, this is not the Torah. This is not according to the laws of the system. Because from one generation to the next we reach such a great revelation of the ego, then we already have a different weapon against our ego, the reforming light.

10. R. (41:00) So, there is only this question: if in the Torah there is a hidden force that influences and corrects me, changes me and makes out of me something that is similar, closer to the Creator, then I only need to know how I should engage in the Torah, what does this mean, Torah? Is this just a book that the word “Torah” is printed on it or is it some physical actions, what is it I have to do? What is the Torah? The Torah is from the word, ohr, light. Torah is also from the word ‘teaching’. There’s the teaching or theory of Torah, of physics, biology, it is all Torah. Torah means teachings or study. So, what is it I have to learn in order to effect within me the changes that would be similar to the Creator, this is what is about. So, our entire study should be, as it says here, that the Torah is in order to subdue, to subjugate the evil inclination meaning to achieve Dvekut, equivalent to form with the Creator, so that all of our actions will be only in order to bestow like the Creator. I don't know what this is like but the Torah, this force that I draw upon myself through certain actions that the Kabbalists’ recommend, by this. I change myself and by this become more and more similar to the Creator. Then according to these changes, I begin to feel that I am coming closer to Him. It is precisely according to that, as much as I change, I get closer to the Creator. And the most important thing for me is only to get assistance from above, this is the reforming light, and this assistance, we get from the Torah. Through the study, through connection and all of these means that help us to discover the Creator.

11. S. (43:35) does the light change a person or does it take him around so he can feel what bestowal is and then brings him back to the same place?

R. What does it mean that it brings him from his place if not through change?

S. What is a person that is changing, what is a person that is changing?

R. A person who changes means that his will to receive changes. We have nothing else besides a desire, if I feel change, it is my desire that changes. If I feel a special kind of change that I become closer to the upper force, it means that my desire has changed in that direction. If I feel that I have changed on the plain of this world, then my desire is not changing qualitatively but only on this plane, wherever I feel these changes. It is all through the change of the desire and besides the desire we have nothing else except what the Creator created.

S. When we connect in the 10, we feel there is a force that is lifting us to a new place. Once the connection is over it is as if from that we are back to where we were.

R. Yes,

S. So did we change or do we go back to the way we were before?

R. Probably went back even though each action does an impression and you are not as you were before but you nevertheless, returned.

S. So what is advancement? Progress?

R. Advancement is where you try not to return. Just to rise, and rise and rise, and what you rose to, is what you want to become the permanent state for the time being. And you will rise even more. Meaning you always have to renew your ascents.

12. S. (45:49) He writes that the Torah was given to us in order to subdue the evil inclination but what I discover is that only in the descents is more evil but how do we subdue the evil inclination?

R. The fact that you discover you are bad and doing bad to everyone, this is how you discover your true nature, and this is what the Torah reveals to you. These stages are the initial stages that have to happen to each and every person. But don't think that this is the actual truth, that people understand this and feel like you. Only you feel that it is being revealed to you. So each and every one that reveals his true nature sees that there is no one worse than him in the whole world. That is how we are. Every single will to receive, even the smallest or the greatest, will always feel himself as being the worst. Because first of all there is no one like him as each and every desire is a desire of its own. This is how we advance. We need to know, discover this in the right way, to suffer and tolerate these things. Against these things, then try to work in a cold spirit inside the 10. Try to arrange the connections between us in such a way that everything that is revealed, especially when it is revealed in a negative way, that you are happy that you now have an opportunity to make it positive through the connection in the group. You have to constantly hold on to your connection with the group first of all. Prepare yourself and then all of the negative things that are being revealed, you will be able to invert them, change them to being positive, to build a middle line from them. A connection with the 10 on one hand, on the right hand, and on the other hand some bad is happening where you say you are discovering some bad that you are causing everyone and you connect. You connect how? You connect them in the middle line. You are not canceling the left and leaving the right rather you are trying to connect between them.

S. So, let's say the desire appears in me, something bad appears and I cannot overcome it. Is it always going to be like this?

R. What?

S. Some egoistic state, desire?

R. That is good, you are prohibited from destroying this ego, we need to rise above it. The Creator didn't create anything redundantly, neither the egoistic desires nor His forces, I need to use them in the right way.

S. What does it mean ‘correctly’?

R. I need to bless for the bad as I do for the good.

S. How do you do that?

R. It is because the bad that is being revealed, the Creator created that bad on purpose so that through the correction of the evil, I will be able to come to Him. The correction of the evil not to erase it.

S. Okay but how do I correct it? All kind of states appear in me, I’m not able to overcome them, how can I correct them?

R. By the reforming light, it's not that you do it, the light does this, you don't know how to do it.

S. Okay how do we draw this light? I mean, I study I do whatever I’m supposed to . . . where exactly do we draw this light?

R. This is by you being with the friends, learning the materials and try to implement it in the connections between you. Then the Creator organizes your connection in such a way that you will be able to begin to revealed according to the equivalence of form, according to your desires that are connected in Him. It is the law of equivalence of form. The desires that come to connect need to truly be in the same form like the light.

13. S. (51:09) What does it mean that I use something negative towards connection?

R. We ask for the will to receive in order to receive be inverted into a desire to receive in order to bestow. Specifically our ego we invert to become the force of good. This is called ‘the darkness shall shine as light.’

14. S. (51:45) What are we wrong about? Where are we mistaken and what keeps us from growing?

R. That we don't want to implement what is written, that we just hear and in practice we are not doing. We don't want to implement and to realize the advice of the Kabbalists. We will try to do this together, soon we are coming to the understanding of our situation, in a few days or a week and you will see that it will change. I really hoped for this that I also am expecting for it to happen to you.

S. How do we relate more seriously with greater responsibility to the relations between us in the 10?

R. That is the whole problem, we don't attribute the importance to the connection between us because this is the main thing, the main area where the evil inclination stands and bothers us not letting us relate seriously but also in the fact that we cannot relate seriously to connection between us. That we forget about it, in this also we need to see advancement because prior to this it was easier to speak about it and today it is much more difficult. This is a sign of advancement. At first all of the friends were good guys. We could have done all kinds of connections between us, today no. Today we already can't, we are more distant and each is important, taking more of a place. This is a form of advancement of the will to receive, but the will to receive is growing only in accordance with as much as we do the corrections so in everything there is both good and its opposites.

15. S. (55:00) It turns out that the Torah, the light all sums up to building one connection between us?

R. Do it together and you will see what will happen.

16. S. (55:45) If I heard correctly you said that when the evil is revealed that we have to accept it with a cool mind and even bless over the bad as the good this is hard to do as I do yearn for the connection with the friends but how can I look at it in such a level-headed way?

R. How can you grow the connection if you don't discover the corruptions between you?

S. Usually I don't like this situation, I hate the evil that is revealed and I try more to use my connection with the friends to mainly run away from the bad.

R. So you're saying that if I am alone, then the ego that is revealed, I feel as bad, if I am in connection with the friends then the ego that is revealed only shows me where we can now together, because we are there to correct it and come to the good. This is the whole thing, therefore if you're not connected with the friends and those the ego comes and you are like a fool who sits and embraces himself, eating his own flesh. If you are connected with the others, with the friends. Then you see that the increasing ego is an opportunity to enter into it and to destroy it to do battle and subdue it to a rise to the next degree.

S. Do I understand the unpleasant situations that appear in the ego that this is what my point in the heart awakens within me and also draws me to the friends to combine these two states?

R. Yes.

17. S. (57:30) What is the spiritual and corporeal definition of pride and how shall we tell the friends who have studied for seven or eight years and cannot rise above their pride and say they are going to quit studying?

R. Correct that happens many times I don't understand why they stopped studying, why they stopped their spiritual development even if they don't feel, and they know all of these things if they've been there for seven or eight years and they've probably read all of our sources then they understand that this is the path. What did they find, something else? Of course not, so they got despaired because they don't want to work with their ego, I understand them but I don't think that there is any room here for despair, there is room to continue in life. Look what we do in our corporeal lives, we live nevertheless and advanced, we bring our kids, we develop and we want to see our grandchildren and life continue. It is the same here, you need to do it such that the study of the wisdom of Kabbalah will be a part of your life. If you can invest more in this than invest oh, even better. This is very good, if not but at least something, somewhat. Wherever you are. Somewhat if you know at least the morning lesson, and that soon we will be able to do conventions, connection. The main thing is not to leave, as it is written anything but leave. When you leave and even become hostile when you get annoyed that it didn't work out for you according to you, it didn't happen, this is truly you degrading everything. It is like you have not any reward or profit, but a true loss. This is why we need to continue in a light way, in an easy way.

18. S. (01:01:31) As we advance in the will to receive more negativity and problems come, we draw the reforming light to become closer to it?

R. We have no problems as it is simply the same obstacles that we need to overcome and to pass which are revealed from the root of our soul in each and every one. It is not that we got stuck along the way somehow and that if we were to go another way we would be stuck another way, no. What is depicted before us as the world, where I see the world, I see myself in an opposite way just like we learn from the perception of reality. Therefore, this is what I see and this is what I need to see and this is what I need to discover but in accordance with as much as I am more or less in a state of correction it all depends upon my inner correction, I can see wars, I can see the Garden of Eden it all depends upon my inner correction because all together that is what I see before me, it is truly like that.

19. S. (01:03:14) How can we Implement in the 10 what is written?

R. Like it is written, try and do this and show an example to your friends from this in the 10 and you will see that it will be much easier.

20. R. Meaning two forces come and they connect to one goal as in the adhesion between them and the creature that is called Adam which they are connected together, before that it is just a beast, desire, or body, biological, we don't talk about. We are always talking about the forces. Good and bad connect together in one system it is called Adam HaRishon. Then all of this system sees itself as coming closer to adhesion.
