Part 1:

Rabash. Article No. 10, 1986. Concerning Prayer

1. Rav’s Introduction: Yes, we saw this in all kinds of sources, that there is actually nothing more important in man's work than the prayer, turning to the Creator, so that He will arrange him correctly between all the forces and conditions that exist inside a person in the right way, so that he will be able to be directed correctly to the Creator and bit by bit, he will make the ascent from his present state, all the way up to complete adhesion with the upper force, with the Creator. This is why this topic is the most important, the matter of prayer, because only through it do we reach what we are capable of, we reach what we have to reach, it is only through the prayer. Let's see what Rabash writes about it.

Rabash. Concerning Prayer. (02:02) “Our sages said in Masechet Taanit..

2. S. (19:59) He writes here in the end that it is against nature to pray for bestowal and that the solution is to give more labor, so I don't understand how it is a solution, it is against nature, how can more labor suddenly work?

R. Nevertheless he inverts the elements within him and even though he hates bestowal and he's far away from bestowal, however, by investing his forces and asking for bestowal even though he doesn't want it, later bit by bit, these efforts by themselves bring him closer to the deficiency to bestow. That even though he doesn't want it by his nature, however, through the labor he invested, he begins to understand that vessels of bestowal is what he's lacking.

S. How does a person come to such a state where he is willing to ask for something that if he really scrutinizes he sees he despises it?

R. Well, this is how it is inside nature, that if we ask for something even if we don't want it, a request itself gradually becomes what we are lacking. The Creator arranged that already from the beginning of creation, otherwise we wouldn't stand any chance to replace our nature. Meaning, by us, well, from it's called from Lo Lishma we come to Lishma and that we see this also with children, and also in ourselves, that as much as we enter into things that we don't want them but we nevertheless get used to them and we do them, then it becomes a second nature. Then we do want it, as it is written, “I want it.” This is how it works.

3.S. (22:51) When a person goes to work he doesn't like, at least he has the reward, influence of his eyes.

R.Well, if he’s able to see a reward before his eyes truly, then it is as though he shouldn't pray, he can't pray because the reward will hide everything from him.

S. This is the conflict. What is ma why are they talking about two paths, if ultimately fear of heaven is what's chosen?

n's motivation to even try to pray?

R. No, it's not the way it is for us in our world, but rather if we can connect between us and we get an awakening from each other, then already our actions are to bestow and we begin to move the forces that will influence us.

S. So with the work, without really wanting to get, the desire is born that we will become bestowers?

R. Yes, this is called desire.

S. How does desire become the main goal that nothing moves me from it?

R. Well there are a few things here, one is that I have nothing that I can do. Either I accept this condition and I ask, I pray and this is how I advance or I won't advance ,or I must accept this condition, that my prayer is what makes the action because this is how the Creator prepared, this is how the Creator prepared nature, so that the request can change the elements.

S. From the work, at least two things are born. One that we suddenly want to be in something called bestowal and two, that we have to work for it and we have a desire?

R. Yes, yes we agree. The fact that a person asks even without a desire, without a lack, he nevertheless begins to feel a taste in that because he awakens the light that is related to that source and this is how he begins to receive an awakening from above.

4. S. (26:28) I heard you now say when a person asks without a desire here can awaken  lights from above? What are these words asking without a desire?

R. Look, this is very similar to what we do with children. We teach them to ask and even though they don't want it, they begin to understand that without becoming incorporated with us, without asking they will not be able to receive. This is why the will to receive itself subdues itself and it agrees to these conditions. Then, later on, when it agrees to these conditions, one becomes incorporated in this and then the Upper Light itself operates in his actions and builds within him new desires.

S. But the child asks for what he wants?

R. The child asks for what he wants? But by asking and not receiving he gradually agrees with the giver on the conditions of the giver and this is how he inverts.

5. S. (28:58) I want to make a clarification on prayer and Dvekut. Dvekut is it inside the prayer or outside the prayer as a result?

R. The adhesion is the result of the prayer.

S. So can I say that in prayer there is the Creator and me, so I am having an inner observance towards my place of connection to the Creator and this inner observance is prayer that I am checking myself but in adhesion, there is not me, there is the Creator?

R. Well in adhesion I also exist, I begin to be adhered to the Creator. I am the one who changes. I am the one who shifts myself from one end to the other from distancing to nearing. Well, we will scrutinize this more, better, bit by bit, all these things will come together.

S. Each prayer gets resulted with Dvekut or not?

R. Well, yes to some extent each prayer composes the adhesion in the end.

S. In prayer I feel the lackness of fulfillment, the lackness of the light and I check inside me that how can I, through which desire can I connect to it and as a result of it, I get that connection and be in adhesion, and be in Dvekut, is that true?

R. Not exactly. I search inside of my work more how can I bestow to the Creator and this is why, if let's say, it seems to me that through adhesion with the Creator, I can bestow to Him, then I ask for adhesion. If through adhesion with the Creator, I can bestow to Him, then I ask for adhesion. I see my goal only in bestowal and adhesion is a means for a goal; that goal.

S. No motivation In order to bestow contentment, well, that's what the Creator wants.

6. S. (33:25) If I want to bestow to the Creator and that's my intention the Creator's pleasure is my reception?

R. That's true.

S. On the contrary, if I want to help the Creator with his desire to benefit me and enjoy it and that's bestowal.

R. In order to bestow. That is what the Creator wants.

S.There's no reception on bestowal, it's just me or the Creator?

R. That's right.

7. S. (34:32) It says everything is in the hands of heaven but Rashi interpreted that righteous are wicked. It doesn't come from above. This was given to man to choose between two paths, to choose the fear of Heaven. Why are they talking about two paths, if ultimately fear of heaven and fear of his.

R. Again

R. Because the most important, as we discover, is the fear. We also learned about it in the Mitzvot, the commandments. There is this article in Shamati and in The Zohar, that fear is the most important thing of heaven or fear of his maker etc..

8. S. (35:57) He writes here that there are two things one the desire that is only in potential, who wants to bestow and two, that he also has the ability to carry out his thought in action. What is the meaning of this?

R. Again.

S. He writes he can pray to the Creator to give him the force of bestowal and cancel man's force of reception. How should be the balance between asking to be a giver and stop the force of reception that governs me?

R. What kind of relations can there be between the two requests? I don't think that these are two requests. You want to cause contentment to the Creator and you choose out of that. That's it.

S. According to what I'm feeling, will that be more contentment?

R. According to that choice, yes.

S. I can discern between whether I want to go close to bestowal or go way away from reception.?

R. Yes, because you choose.

S. There are states where I feel that my prayer will help me to come out of the force of receiving in order to receive, that's my prayer and another moment it will be a prayer to help me to be a giver, a bestower like you?

R. Yes.

S. It's one prayer with two different states?

R. It's not one prayer, these are seemingly two deficiencies. l

S. Last thing, about the reward, it is still unclear. I am asking help me be the giver, help me be like you, but at the same time that I am asking for its many times I stumble upon the fact that it is very hard to ask because I know to begin with that I will not be able to discern if my prayer was successful or not. So it is very hard to approach something seriously when you don't have the understanding if you are able to do it or not able to do?

R. That's not exactly so. We can ask even if we don't see the result because otherwise the request will also not be complete, so the request becomes well, there is great and long work in that but ultimately we learn how to truly ask. It takes time, it takes time.

9. S. (40:14) Following this whole scrutiny and all the questions, what I understand, what I feel is that what I ask for depends on my friends, on my environment and also what I want depends on them? What should I expect out of them? What should I ask from the friends in order to truly be directed to the right demand for the Creator?

R. You should ask of the Creator that He will help you to be adhered to the friends because all in all, this is the vessel in which you find yourself correctly established towards the Creator Himself. That's it.

S. The possibility to turn to the Creator, also to feel that I haven't urgency to turn to the Creator. That too depends on them, whichever way I try to spin it, I am in their hands?

R. Yes, you depend on the friends, that's right, so what?

S. It's terrible isn't it to always be completely dependent on friends?

R. Yes you depend on them 100% and then you turn to the Creator that He will help you out of the dependency on them to reach the goal. Think about it.

10. S. (41:56) I want to ask about the prayer. A deficiency away can send me, it is closed in a certain variety. It is a certain garment. It doesn't matter which garment. Does a prayer begin from the moment that I look at this deficiency seemingly from the side and I realize that what I lack is the connection with the Creator?

R. A prayer is not only a connection with the Creator, a prayer is first of all a request. The connection with the Creator clearly it's that it opens up in the prayer but what is it that you want, why do you want it. A prayer is a complex appeal.

S. What I want is to ask to bestow to the Creator ultimately, not what I truly want, but this is what I should ask for?

R. This depends on what time you are in, what part of the way, in the end you begin to feel that to bestow to the Creator is actually the best the greatest deficiency.

S. What influences the power of the prayer?

R. The power, the intensity of the prayer; only the atmosphere, the environment.

S. According to my degree of connection with the environment?

R. According to your degree of connection with the environment and according to the environment itself and as much as you are dependent upon them.

11. S. (44:07) It turns out that in most of the scrutinies that we make here there is a gap between what a person truly feels and what a person reads in the texts that he is supposed to ask for. How do we reconcile this gap?

R. It closes gradually on the path, a person truly feels on the path how much his desire changes, it comes closer to what is written. It's a wonder, but this is how it happens. He surrenders, he already sees and it's something that is attractive, that is worthwhile, it happens through different angles.

S. There is a struggle here between these two desires and on one hand the person has a sense of this is what you should ask for, but on the other hand, if he truly examines what he's feeling right now, it is not what he truly wants right now, so now what do we do with it, so do we ask from the Creator to want that desire but still he is not in that, so I think many of the questions engage in how do I bring myself to the stage that Rabash talks about and Baal HaSulam talks about?

R. Learn from the environment, learn from the environment. Eventually one needs to take guidance from the environment.

12. S. (45:52) When I ask, I want to ask to get closer to the Creator because this is how I bestow, but here, how do I build such precision with my request, in my egoistic vessels. It is not clear what I want and how to ask for it but here how do we build the precision for the request?

R. This builds by itself from within man's heart. Gradually maybe, it changes and changes until a person begins to feel how more and more, his request becomes more precise. It changes and becomes more precise. Is that it?

13. S. (46.46) I wanted to ask in the beginning he writes that the demand is not included in the purpose of creation. What is that? Why is the demand not part of the purpose of creation?

R. Well, in my view the demand is what we have to absorb from the connection between us as it says envy, lust and honor take a person out of this world. This is why we need to find the demand which is the most important thing. Later on he writes that the demand is the most important. We have to find and discover it from the connection between us. I need to learn from my friends and this is how it is with each and everyone, that's what I need is the demand, the demand.

S. He continues and he writes there that the request, the demand is later on born from the side of the society. What is this demand that is born? It wasn't there before and now you have it. What does it add to the system that there is another mechanism?

R. It's a deficiency that comes from himself or deficiency that comes from the created being himself.

S. He writes that about the abundance and the pleasure, there's no point in asking?

R. Yes because they come from the Creator, while the demand should already come from the side of the created being.

S. So we only ask for Kelim?

R. Only asking.

S. And the moment that we have the Kli, the vessel, the abundance and the feeling they go in there?

R. Then the prayer is already in the right place.

S. Ok, so the Creator gives us the vessels or when we ask, we ask that their results will be, we will have a deficiency. What exactly do we ask for?

R. I am asking for a deficiency, only a deficiency. All the rest is already there.

S. At the moment that you have a deficiency, is this a law?

R. Yes.

14. S. ( 49:52) So if one has a deficiency and when he has the right deficiency, he's immediately filled, so why should we also ask for the ability to execute his thought in actual fact. It says here that there are two discernments: one is the desire regarded as only a potential in general, as he wants it so and two, is that he also has the ability to carry out his thought in actual fact, he has the ability to bestow. Why do we need two, if he has a strong enough desire?

R. The desire itself is insufficient, to carry it out is what's required otherwise the desire is not considered a complete desire. Where does he explain that? In short, it is an incomplete desire. If you cannot activate your desire in creation it indicates that it is incomplete.

S. What characterizes a complete desire that it actually gets a filling?

R. That it influences the source, the Creator and draws the fulfillment.

S. The feeling is the ability to bestow?

R  The ability to bestow is that force that invites the fulfillment, to the extent that you receive fulfillment you give contentment to the Creator.

S. Can we say that these two discernments are from Lo Lishma to Lishma, in lo Lishma we have a desire to bestow and in Lishma you have the ability to bestow?

R. No, Lo Lishma is well, it's close to what you are saying but we will get closer to it, we will get closer.

15. S. (52:10) About the gap between what we read about from Rabash which feels as the truth and where the heart and desire are in fact, you said this gap is like a wonder, it closes more and more and there is sometimes the opposite impression that this gap keeps on growing, meaning from the moment in which a certain desire awakens it becomes, it seems like the desire just evaporates. We are just moving away from what Rabash writes even though there is a feeling that there is truth here in what Rabash says it pulls you but where a person is, the distance keeps growing?

R. That's good if there is such a feeling that the gap is growing because it's truth. it's an opening, it's progress to the extent to which we are not in the right place?

S. The remedy as I heard you say, it is that a person becomes incorporated in the environment and then eventually the gap shrinks but again in practice a person is incorporated in the environment for years, dozens of years and a gap grows, it doesn't shrink, it doesn't restrict, is there something missing here, maybe I'm missing something?

R. What seems to us as growing away from the goal, from the Creator, from the right request, that we cannot properly incorporate with the upper force that is truth and progress.

The purpose of knowing is to not know.

16. S. (54:27) In the prayer should we ask for the force to overcome by the side of the person over all the obstacles that detain the good and pleasure?

R. We can ask for anything. The question is how much does it work? If I discover that only Dvekut adhesion can give me all that I need that I want, then it's the only thing I am aiming for.

17. S. (55:13) I understood from the article that the only thing that we should pray for is to get help from the Creator in building the vessel so that the Creator can fill them. If this is true, how do we build such a vessel in the group?

R. In the group, it is very simple, it's that we want to be closer and we see that this, too, is impossible, that it doesn't work out for us and it's truly a wonder because I thought that I don't really want to be so close to the friends, then I discover that I do want, but I can't. Then the work begins.

18. S. (56:08) How does our request affect changes in our changes in connection towards the correction of man?

R. We can ask many questions here but the connection between them is simple. If we connect, then all of our questions become a single question. A single question which is only the connection between us, in adhesion. We have to understand that our goal ultimately being in the process of correction is because that shattered vessel of Adam HaRishon has to reach unity, connection, Arvut [mutual guarantee] being “as one man with one heart.” This is really what the goal is and  if we demand it we don't need more than that, everything will become incorporated in that, everything will. Okay.

19. S. (57:58) We do a lot of prayer in the Ten and sometimes it becomes a sort of routine, the prayer. So I just made my prayer. How do you come, let's say, to amore serious prayer, let's say in the Ten, a prayer that you can really help each other to come to a more deep prayer? Is that also through prayer?

R. Yes, of course. It depends on the lack of connection that we feel or don't feel between us and the connection or lack thereof, should direct us.

20. S. (59:03) Why do we need to pray to the Creator to give us the desire to pray if we already feel the lack of Dvekut. What is the prayer is that we do not pray enough and we do not feel enough of the deficiency

R. No because the deficiency has to be as a means and we do not have that, we don't.

21. S (59:51) It says in the last sentence that he is desire will give birth to a true prayer that giving and the pain will be qualities of bestowal so when the Creator gives me such a desire to ask and I from this experience ask for enough for myself but that He will give this quality to me but that He will give it to the friends, is that correct or should I ask them that he should give it to me this quality.

R. This you can see from practice, yes or no or what you would ask for,

22. S (01:00:45) Since I have no power but to come here isn't it a prayer to work without for the friends to attend prayers for spirituality only in the Ten.?

R. Asking did you pray so that the friends will receive a spiritual reward and you only want to pray for them that is certainly a very high degree.

23. S (01:01:48) They say in the end that prayer is the work in the heart. Why is it work in the heart because on one hand we say that the prayer comes out of the connection between us on the other hand, the work should be with myself also so what is actually work in the heart?

R. That we have to find exactly the correct deficiency that awakens from within us. This is how we advance. Of course it is the work in the heart. The heart means the desire, we only need to replace our desire from reception to bestowing.

S. Should this deficiency come out of the deficiency in the connection in the friends?

R. This is a means for that of course

24. S. (01:03:15) Everything comes from the Creator, so the thought and the prayer comes from Him. Is there a connection between the Reshimot and the prayer that Reshimot comes from the Creator?

R The Reshimot awakens us and we according to the memory begin to awaken the creator. so the Creator, through all kinds of means, begins to awaken us. and that is how the upper light gradually builds up everything for us.

25. S. (01:04:04) How can prayer bring us closer to the Creator because ultimately love is what brings connection between the friends?

R. Yes, but at first and then at the end. We begin from fear. at first if there's no there's something that disappears and something else happens instead rather it is built this way. Meaning that we have to return to wake up and this awakening begins from a distant place where we are in fear of punishments and all kinds of things that are not truthful. Then we get closer and we want to pray and we awaken from things that relate to that which belongs to bestowal.

26. S. (01:05:54) It says that the first few and the second fear are not that he is asking for himself but only from the fear that he will diminish giving contentment to his maker. What are these first and second fears? Can you explain it?

R. I think of how much I bestow to the Creator and this is what aims my action so what do I need to do?

27. S. (01:06:36) It seems like this whole article speaks of how to receive the abundance and it sounds like building the screen, it sounds like in TES, why is it so difficult? How can we make it simpler? How can we make it simpler on the path? I don't even know how to ask the question.

R. Turn to the Creator and figure it out, ask him why it's so difficult and why it does not work out. These are questions that we should refer to the Creator.

28. S. (01:07:24) When you listen to the questions of the friends it seems like we always go in a loop, we go back to the importance if we don't have the importance, we work and we pray and seemingly everything becomes clear. We also hear in the questions about habits or routine that we pray about each and every day and we go back to it. My question is is there some kind of phenomenon of producing new tastes in importance?

R. Yes.

S. What does it involve? How do you create a new taste and important or in the friends like Rabash writes that to open a new slate in the work everyday?

R. This is again through looking at the society, envy, lust and honor take a person out of his current degree and to a different degree, higher degree.

S. But it also comes in the realm of habits and routine.

R. I don't know. I think that it is also being impressed with a new envy. It is a new day and it is a new degree. So that is not correct. We have to gear up towards not advancing sufficiently. We have to labor more in it. Where as waiting for it to happen, that is incorrect

29. S (01:09:31) Exactly this, we hear that friends say the Torah exhausts a person's strength. We know that the process is not clear, it's not within reason, it's exhausting. How can you help a friend saying these things, it's hard for me to do, I don't know how to do it and I'm not succeeding. How can you help a friend?

R. By setting an example first and foremost.

S. I try to do whatever I understand but there are still friends that come and say they are showing fatigue and exhaustion.

R. Yes, I know and still an example. I have nothing else to answer.

S. Okay example, but you know excerpts, all of these corporeal actions,, all of these means but there is no inner addition that we can do?

R. That is exactly the inner addition that is needed. You can eat meals every night and study from dawn to dusk and ask whatever you want. All of that is within the realm of possibility but not none of it will help. Rather what we need is to try to give examples to others, to the friends. If not, let's say there are 300 people around you and with us around the world, that is many times more. So if we were to think about how to awaken the hearts of the friends that this is my work right now, we would succeed big time.

S. How can I help friends feel the advice you give now?

R. You have to be an actor exploding on the inside and burning on the outside and exploding on the outside and you must reach the purpose of creation, and awaken the Creator and connect the friends and be in the internal adhesion with the friends and the Creator together 100%.

S. Why can't you say it as if it is really burning in me? What am I sitting here for no reason?

R. The friends have to feel it somewhat what they see it, it is visible to you somewhat. but probably insufficient and the same for everyone.

30. S. (01:12:55) How do I during a lesson do I awaken the hearts of the friends?

R. Both in silence and in speech.

S. I'm not asking about silence. There are many friends in the world who don't see me and I don't see them. How do we awaken the hearts of each other?

R. You try through questions, through thought, participation. That is what we have to do.

S. In thought, how do I awaken them?

R. That you have a thought of awaking them and you keep thinking about it. And if you are distracted from it, then you cause the decline to the whole Kli and the same goes for each and everyone, each and everyone.

31. S (01:14:17) Apparently there are two types of participation in the lesson. Either I open my deficiency by asking or I get Incorporated with the deficiency of the friends that are asking, so in order to incorporate with the deficiency of the friend should I feel that way? That in the lesson every question is like my question and every answer is answer to me?

R. Yes. This is very useful. That is the form of the adhesion, it's external but adhesion.

S. Do I create a channel between the Creator and the friend to transfer the Hassidim?

R. Hassidim, well let's say so, yes.

S. So this is what I wanted to ask: I activate the friends in an inner way?

R. Yes.

S. So without me talking, without touching, by my internality I will affect them?

R. That is correct.

32. S (01:16:20) Here in the article it also says that within men's nature he always has a prayer from the will to receive for himself and a person should somehow reach a state where his prayers should be for bestow. So long as he has not reached it, he is in a state that becomes more frustrated from one day to the next because his request are not being fulfilled, his heart does not manage to get an answer, a response for whatever awakens in his heart. So the awakening is egoistic. I mean what we get in the deficiency which is egoistic. How do we turn that into something that is altruistic or bestowal? The person does not manage to do it for a long time. He doesn't know what to do, it is not in his heart, he's not getting it from above. I want to continue and ask you as an example if you give him an environment that will allow the person not to run away, to stay there, to go back every time. It’s a process that where we give support, but how can we get into a relationship between the friend and the Creator and argue that we should ask him to give him the right deficiency for that?

R. It's a prayer, it's specifically our work to pray for the friend and then you are answered first, as written.

S. It is also written that one should help his friend, that a friend prays for a friend and that’s how they are all answered. I don't know how to do that.

R. But you already understand where the deficiency is. The deficiency is in that we do not feel the deficiencies of the friend and connect with them. So let’s ask the Creator to give us the opportunity. As it says why haven't you asked.

S. So when I asked, and this is the question I’ve asked you a few times. I see something in me is wrong, that is why I do not get this opportunity?

R. You don't have a real deficiency from within. That you feel it is yours, with what your heart wants.

S. Maybe it's a collection of things, maybe there's not enough thoughts of bestowal because the Creator loves the friend more than me. He knows what he's doing, so I have to be stronger, more loving. Maybe Rav can say what. What do I need to do be more of in order to succeed?

R. This is called Arvut, that it is not you doing this action on your own rather everyone together.

S. I need to get my ten?

R. Yes, yes and then it will happen very quickly and smoothly.

33. R. (01:19:59) This is a subject that we started now to dig into and it is a fairly important topic and a very fundamental topic, very fundamental.

34. S. (01:20:21) I feel that one of the things that is supposed to solve everything is the problem is in reaching a prayer and to reach a prayer you need pain, is that true?

R. It is true, but it is also not true, because if you have pain you will cry out of your pain and that is not the solution.

S. What is a request without pain? Where is it’s strength?

R. The creator gives us pain and then we are pleased for such an awakening?

S. No, like you said, also animals pray.

R. So?

S. How do we reach a prayer? What is this motor that creates this force? We sit together, we put together words, but what is this substitute for pain that gives strength?

R. That is a deficiency for the prayer. A prayer prior to the prayer and deficiency for the deficiency. When we ourselves prepare for such states from which we can ask, request, this also depends on us. I'm not waiting for a deficiency. I want to build in me a deficiency. May there be a desire, may there be a desire before you. Before you, do you understand that? This is something that we want to awaken.

S. It means that if the deficiency is natural, I feel it, it's already animalistic?

R. Yes, meaning it's not work it's not an action it's a reaction.

S. We need to create together something that is not even in me?

R. In you it does not exist, in everyone together, yes. When we understand that the address to the Creator has to be collective, then from that moment on, we start advancing in the more direct way.

35. S. (01:23:37) The work is to awaken a deficiency from the friends or to get a  deficiency from them or both?

R. Both.

36. S. (01:23:58) Continuing the friend's question and the answer you gave, if the deficiency is attained through our pre request then it is already not felt as pain?

R. The deficiency is felt as a deficiency as pain. It may also be felt as pleasure that finally I want this thing.

S. In other words the crying in that case is not out of pain that is the question? So it's not a question that deficiency equals pain. Can there be an equation that deficiency does not equals pain?

R. There may be a deficiency without pain.

37. S. (01:25:08) Why does prayer belong to the correction of creation?

R. Because this is the replacement of the deficiency by our request, there is nothing more than the deficiency the Creator created the deficiency the will to receive and we are asking to replace it with something else, a different will to receive or even a will to bestow.

S. What is the reason that Kabbalists have divided the prayer into three, gratitude, 2) a request to be human, Adam and 3) a human prayer to transition from self-reception to receiving to giving bestowal to the Creator by the light that reforms?

R. Well let's say that is all, even though it's not everything but that there is what it is and that is because that is what we need.

S. What is the reason that for harmony I need everyone?

R. You start from a request and you should end with gratitude as if you received it.

38. S (01:26:43) It is written what is required from man that chooses to walk the path of bestowal and he will know that is the vessel with the purpose of creation, which is to receive purpose which is goodness and benefit and if he likes these vessels, he remain in darkness without light, this scrutiny needs to be known in advance like he says here? Is this the foundation of spiritual development?

R. The foundation of spiritual development is a prayer that if we raise it from the connection of the hearts where each one digs into his own heart, connecting his heart to the hearts of the friends, then ultimately you reach such a deficiency that the creator has to answer and this is what we mean when we say that ''my sons have defeated me". When the Creator is happy from the fact that we force Him, that we trick Him from this he is pleased.

S. How is connection from the heart related to walking in the path of bestowal?

R. We are in the connection of the hearts, we're thankful we present our desire to walk in bestowal. There is no more bestowal beyond what you can connect and can feel the connected heart of the other and fill it.

S. I heard before that you said that we need to awaken ourselves and sometimes the awakening begins from a far place like from fear of a punishment. What is an awakening from fear of punishment?

R. An awakening from fear of punishment is to reveal the inner desire inside a person who is always afraid and his primary fear is about the punishment, receiving some blows, getting some sorrow. Later he can come if he is already certain that there is no sorrow and this may only be true if he has reached Hassidim, mercy, the vessels of the bestowal, then from then on he can reach, receiving in order to bestow.

39. S (01:30:14) In relation to setting an example that a person who gives an example or tries to give, naturally also expects to see a result in his friend from his example. Is it correct to have this attitude to expect to ever see a result of an example?

R. An example from the friends?

S. From the example that a person tries to give the others. Does he overcome or give exertion externally?

R. Exertion is enough.

S. Should he expect some result in that?

R. No no the main thing is the giving, but this we can say that the Creator will finish my work if I'm trying to do for the time being from the bottom of my heart and I should be certain that my action to a certain extent will be realized.

40. S (01:31:22) What is a vessel of bestowal that we ask from the Creator? Is that a vessel of connection in theTen and the Creator will connect us in one Kli?

R. Yes, certainly ultimately our goal is for all of us to connect as one man in one heart and this will be the house of the Lord.

S. A collective prayer, can you say that we all ask for the same thing or that we ask that the friends will have something?

R. No, a collective question cannot exist if we are not directing it to the Creator. I may pray for a friend to have God forbid if he is missing some health or something but the collective prayer, the collective address is only the Creator. He has to be in the center of our prayer.

41. S. (01:32:45) He writes that Malchut received the vessel of bestowal and that a person needs to ask because everything depends on the above, except for the fear of the above so I want to ask about the effort of the friend. Is it related to the fear from above?

R. It is related to the fear of the Creator.

S. How can we feel more that we are doing actions one towards the other and by that we have the opportunity to choose between the righteous and the wicked?

R. I don't know about the righteous, and the wicked. All these choices and all these scrutinies it is still too early. The fact that I want to awaken your heart and a few more like you so by this I ultimately reach a state that I have nothing to ask, except from the Creator, He is holding the heart and this becomes my prayer. Meaning again the Creator is on the way to you and to Him and to Him. That is how he is for everyone. Meaning I have to turn to the Creator and the friends will receive from Him.

42. S. (01:41:19) You said that the condition for request is togetherness, we need to ask together, is there some measurement for some mutual request?

R. No no I don't think there's such a measurement. We just need to try to be as one man with one heart that is all. Measuring with some instrument, how much percentage we are connected or not. We can measure it later but these are the degrees of our connection in Sefirot.

S. If it is a required condition then why not let the people know if they are praying together or not, if it is a required condition?

R. No, they will not be able to find the truth if it is clear before you. They have to search, they have to be in passion, They have to be like a dog running, smelling something. This is the way that we have to be.

S. It will never be like in corporeality that some people go to the same room reading the same text together?

R. That is not considered being together.

S. We call that externality, together in the same room in corporality. Each one's thoughts could different

R. That is not considered together. In spirituality we measure only according to the desire.

S. Exactly, that is what I am saying, if we could measure how we are together.

R. What work would you have if you would see where you are you would not have a connection and impulse or a drive to the Creator or a drive to turn to your friends,

S. If I see the friend is not with me, I will try to help him. If I'm not together with him, I would pray to the Creator but currently I am in darkness. I don't know if we are together or not together.

R. Because you are in the dark you have to continue, and continue, and continue until you go into the light. No, that is not incorrect. I see this as a great salvation. The fact that the Creator gave us darkness is a creation in of itself and it is all for our own good, it is all for us. You cannot maybe not everyone but in the meantime, you can't fathom that each and every moment the Creator made in every process and every moment in the process that we go through, all there is is care for us. Look at the woman how she cares as a mother, a young mother, how she cares for her baby. This way, and in that way, she's always in an inner search for how to do something, for one small thing for the baby and it is the smallest degree. Forgive me for saying this but it beastly but that is the way it is.

43. S. (01:38:23) It seems that the words always lie, maybe it's not even the way to speak to the Creator, in spirituality is it the same?

R. I do not understand.

S. The words never express the feeling it is always true or false.

R. Yes.

S. How to build the prayer if it is false? Maybe it is not the way to speak to the Creator?

R. The Creator does not hear what you say in your mouth. He is measuring your heart, he feels your heart. What you want, you don't have to say words.

S. Every time you say something the sensation changes, it's like receiving some form that was not there before.

R. Okay because this is how I also work.

S. How do Kabbalists build prayers? We see that in the past there were also were prayers, just letters, that looked weird.

R. No, letters are there now too. The prayer addresses the connection but it's not for a degrees, we will come to that.

S. In spirituality can we build a true prayer?

R. If you know how to open the heart in an unlimited way, where the heart will be entirely open and aimed at the Creator and as much as he wants to give you, you're willing to receive in order to give him contentment, that is a real prayer.

R. We are coming closer to that guys. Even today when we are already an hour and three quarters into these scrutinizes, we're seemingly there are no good results but nevertheless they caused other scrutinies, more internal. This is something else. Today we reached much more internal scrutinies than we usually do. Yes, maybe it's not so clear that it is this way externally but that is the way it is.

44. S. (01:41:33) Today we are reading Rabash's article and yesterday  With all that you are saying now I'm thinking, how can we be grateful for even asking such questions and scrutinizing such a desire. How can we be grateful for something like that?

R. We do not think about that a lot being grateful, to receive more from Him that's what we think about, but think being grateful?

S. It is a great privilege. Where in the world can you find such a society such a teacher that together we are scrutinizing such great things.

R. Being grateful to the Creator everything is thanks to him.

45. S. (01:42:39) Today we are reading Rabash's article, and yesterday we did that. Everyone is reading together, together with you and then you explain it to us. What is happening in us while we are following the Rabash, what is he doing in us?

R. The problem is that the words they erase, the inner inspiration. What is happening to us is the opening of the hearts. The opening of the hearts and it is interesting until 20 minutes ago, maybe 25, everything seems to be blocked and everyone felt more or less some blockage. That nothing is clear in the heart and the brain and the connection between us and then it began to open. This is something that we need to take as an example. You see, it's been an hour and three quarters in the lesson. Why did we not let go of it a half an hour ago? Because we have to reach some achievement nevertheless, some connection, a new one, a right connection so that the heart will be moved, touched.

46. S. (01:44:45) I'd like to strengthen your advice. A few days ago you said that we need to read Rabash articles, even without understanding them and we do it in the Ten from that same day, and that's what makes a difference that you just explained.

R. Thank you.

S. What opened up this blockage in the lesson?

R. We were all somehow perplexed by this blockage, that we don't see there is some wall before us, and we can't know how to jump above it or look below it. What should we do with this?  This disturbance, and with help from above we started feeling that it suddenly opened and was being scrutinized more and more. What is an opening? If you use words, it's the same words as before meaning what opened is some connection in the internality of the heart.

S. When we feel that it's blocked just continue?

R. Yes, continue.

47. S. (01:46:40) In this example too, what is the difference between this place that you said in the lesson that we mustn't sit and wait for something to happen, that we expect something to happen to the situation that then something happens from above, some kind of aid from above which is what opens?

R. It's because everyone wants more or less for it to open, some of us at least, we are people that won't let go. That will come to some opening of the article for us.

S. There's a place where we as a society can create this upliftment to not wait and expect something to happen, to change and on the other hand it also does only depend, that like now it's our hopelessness, it depends on above?

R. Yes, we need to get used to learning that the darkness has to come before the light.

48. S. (01:48:20) Can we depict the prayer as being mutual, being together with the fear of the purpose of creation to not miss the opportunity to give contentment to the Creator. The question is, can prayer be combined with fear for the purpose of creation?

R. Is someone playing with this speaker here or does it come from above from the angels? Is it from above? Half of the questions I didn't hear, so what should I do with this question?  I'm always demanding that I don't interfere between me and the people that are asking that want to scrutinize something. In general don't go in there, it's not some business of some person turning a switch.

49. S. (01:49:49) Preparation for prayer and the force of prayer. The preparation that we're doing for prayer, is that building the Arvut?

R. Yes, we don't need anything besides the Arvut because we have to understand that the correction is only in the returning to the vessel of Adam HaRishon.

S. If someone doesn't keep the Arvut then a true prayer can't come?

R. Well, the general prayer is something that certainly won't be able to come out but we're still far from that but nonetheless, to a certain extent and some percentage the prayer is always there giving us the results.

50. S. (01:51:00) When I pray and ask for the friends still in the depth of my heart I feel that I'm asking for myself, is that normal or should we change something?

R. This situation is not right but we start from there, nonetheless from Lo Lishma when everything I do and everything I ask for is for my own benefit and I really hope that from that I'll reach Lishma.

S. No translation

R. We can continue in the meantime but in order to see the good results I need to connect to my friends, I need to bestow externally somehow to the group and this is how bit by bit we will reach good and right to results.

51. S. (01:52:42) What is the meaning of asking from the heart and what is the main enemy?

R. The main heart is the connection of all of us together in one desire with the Creator inside, and this is the central vessel of the entire reality, the Creator and the created beings connected together all of them and then we attain the purpose of creation all of us together.

52. S. (01:53:50) I have strength only to come here and to be with the friends so the work towards the friends without reward is so that we will be able to get spirituality from the Ten is that considered a prayer?

R. Yes, it's both a prayer and a reward.

53. S. (01:54:32) No translation

R. The main thing is to feel everyone in one heart.

54. S. (01:55:02) The question is not from ourTen but as a moderator, what happens between those that are here, when new people come in in two or three months they are already reaching a prayer, meaning they need it. Yesterday we built a prayer and it was like this flow.

R. Yes, we live today in such times that people are very quickly reaching spirituality, preparations for spirituality, time is becoming a lot more beneficial and effective and soon the whole world will awaken in this way.

55. S. (01:56:22) When we talk about Arvut and Adam HaRishon. Is Arvut a mechanism to achieve Adam HaRishon or are they the same thing?

R. Arvut is the type of connection that exists between all of creation to the Creator, that are connected mutually and are only holding on to this.
