Part 2:

Baal HaSulam. "Study of the Ten Sefirot" (TES). Vol. 2. Part 6. #10

Reading Item 10. (00:19) “Certainly, through the departure of the light above...” Twice.

1. R. (01:47) He does not explain more about this now but all in all, it will become clear, read it again.

2. R. (03:20) Well that will be clear over time. The actions of Atzilut, we cover them later on.

Reading Inner Light Item 10. (03:43) “The restriction of the lights above, so that...”

Reading Item 11. (06:53) “We should provide the reason why these two things...”

3. R. (08:08) More than that he does not explain.

Reading Item 12. (08:15) “It was also necessary to install the Parsa and further...”

4. S. (09:35) Where does the Parsa come from?

R. The Parsa arises from different kinds of vessels. There are different screens over the light of Hochma, the light of Hassidim. There's a difference whether the vessels are in order to bestow or if they're only capable of bestowing in order to bestow, or even less than that. So, the Parsa defines where the vessels stand. The upper light cannot go through the Parsa because under the Parsa stand vessels that have no screen to receive the lights of Hochma in order to bestow.

S. Is it specifically the ascent of Malchut, that's the Parsa?

R. Malchut rises to Bina and thereby it limits the lights from coming down from below, to below the Bina.

S. What happens from Bina downward, what's that restricted place?

R. That there it is forbidden for the light of Hochma to appear, there are no screens in these vessels to receive in order to bestow.

S. What's the difference, let’s say, in the first restriction that Malchut doesn't receive and here Malchut limits the Parsa?

R. No, it's not the same thing, because there it simply doesn't receive, let’s say, from a certain place, I guess you're talking about the first restriction, I'm not sure, but there's a condition. Malchut doesn't receive, however, if there's a condition that Malchut receives to the extent that it can in order to bestow then there's already a differentiation where there is more and there is less and that depends on the screen.

5. S. (12:05) What causes the diminution of the light that descends below the Tabur?

R. There are no vessels capable of receiving it as there are above the Tabur and therefore all of the vessels that exist from Tabur and below, they have screens that diminish the light.

S. Below Tabur there's Malchut and Zeir Anpin, so?

R. So what?

S. It's a very strong desire to receive.

R. Just to give them the way they want.

S. What does diminishing the light mean?

R. Diminishing the light means reducing the light to the point that the lower ones can receive in order to bestow.

S. Right, and what's the connection between the screen of Peh de Rosh to the Parsa?

R. The Masach in the Peh of Rosh is the general Masach over the entire Guf of the Partzuf that stands below the Peh of Rosh, and what?

S. The Parsa, what’s the connection between them?

R. The Parsa is already a different condition. It typically stands at the Chazeh of the Partzuf, and it rises or descends according to the extent that the vessels below the Parsa can receive or not.

S. The screen in the Peh of Rosh, it works on the Parsa?

R. The Masach of the Peh of Rosh is the Masach of the first restriction, Tzimtzum Aleph, that sustains the Partzuf according to the conditions of the first restriction.

6. S. (14:00) He writes that the Parsa is also called the screen between Atzilut and Beria.

R. Yes.

S. Also the worlds Yetzira and Assiya in order to be corrected they have to go through that screen?

R. We'll talk about it, it’s not exactly like that.

S. Are there more screens in other worlds?

R. There are screens in every will to receive in the slightest.

S. In every world.

7. S. (14:45) About the new light. The work of the screens, it's a mechanism if I understand correctly of Galgalta, AB, SAG, MA, BON, its screens that scrutinize as much as it can receive in order to bestow each time less and less?

R. Correct?

S. The Parsa, if I understand correctly, it's a different mechanism?

R. Parsa doesn't allow the light of Hochma to go below, but let's put it like that.

S. It's like a rejecting force and then a different kind of work?

R. Well, okay you can say it that way.

S. Before the light of Hochma could go below, it was given the option or is it received in portions?

R. Both this and that, we will have to see that.

S. What's the difference in the mechanism of the Parsa? Why is it different, and what is the difference?

R. Parsa goes up or down, it adjusts the lights to be suitable for the vessels.

8. S. (16:04) If I understand correctly, there was a restriction and then the Parsa. Before the next stage of the expanding of the world of Nekudim in smallness there wasn't a need for the Parsa, but it was made for the future states of taking care of the worlds of BYA.

R. Yes, yes.

S. That's what he's actually telling us.

R. Yes, the Parsa is with respect to vessels that are drawn to the light of Hochma.

9. S. (16:43) What comes first, the world of Atzilut or the world of Nekudim?

R. The world of Nekudim.

10. S. (16:56) What prevents the world of Nekudim, the light, to expand below where the Parsa is going to be?

R. The world of Nekudim emerges from Nikvey Eynaim of Rosh of SAG and then it expands below, and all the way to the Tabur and then to the Parsa, and then even downwards depending on what kind of light, so what's your question?

S. What I know is that the world of Nekudim stops at the place of the Parsa, right?

R. Well, let's say.

S. So what prevents the world of Nekudim to continue to the Sium if there's no Parsa there?

R. The lack of vessels. Where is the Zivug for the world of Nekudim?

S. Nikvey Eynaim.

R. Nikvey Eynaim of Rosh of SAG and then the light expands from there. What kind of light?

S. I don't know what to say but according to what I understand there's also the light of Mercy that can extend below.

R. There was no restriction over the light of Hassidim.

S. Why do we define the world of Nekudim that it expands only to the Parsa?

R. The world of Nekudim expands to the point of the Parsa, yes.

S. In its Katnut?

R. Yes, it also contains the illumination of Hochma, it comes from SAG.

S. The world of Nekudim, when it's small, it only relates to the light of Hochma that expands?

R. No, the light of Hassidim, it’s Katnut, infancy.

S. How does it not expand until the Sium?

R. It has no such strength, no such vessels to expand in that way. The world of Nekudim, where was the coupling of it made?

S. Nikvey Eynaim of Rosh of SAG.

R. Nikvey Eynaim of Rosh of SAG, meaning the lights that emerge are lights of the second restriction. How do they spread?

S. There's the order but what happens below the Parsa? Why does the world of Nekudim in infancy stop on the Parsa?

R. It doesn't have sufficient force to keep spreading, there's vessels of reception there.

S. It's the light of Hassidim, why can't it expand?

R. What will it give these vessels, why do they need it?

S. Okay, I understand.

11. S. (20:17) Why does the diminution of the lights allow them to receive the lights in order to bestow?

R. It's natural, the smaller the light is there is more of an inability in weaker vessels, corrected. Well, not all of them are valid to receive the light in order to bestow.

S. This diminution is it in the amount of light?

R. No, we never talk about amounts.

S. What is it about?

R. It's diminished to the extent that we need screens in order to receive this light in order to bestow.

S. From the side of the system what is diminishing?

R. The force of light.

S. Then the lower ones?

R. The lower ones can receive it in order to bestow in other places.

S. Why, what's new in them?

R. That they don't need too many preparations in order to receive in order to bestow that small light.

S. There's a principle here that seems to show that on the part of the lights, the departures, the restrictions, they actually allow the lower ones to receive. So, there's a kind of a twist here, where the light is as if it restricts itself and specifically in that way, it makes a way for the lower ones to receive it.

R. If the lights restrict themself, they can reach lower vessels, yes.

S. What does it do to the lower ones? What is evolving in the lower ones, the lower ones are supposed to evolve right?

R. Yes, but they already have coarseness and screens so that in advance, before the degree, they were determined in that way, that's why now they cannot change anything, they’re already in a state with a certain coarseness, screen, reflected light. Then if there's a light that can receive an order to bestow, they receive it, and if not they restrict themselves.

S. It's like there's something here that repeats itself in different variations. Like the light, as if closes itself a bit so that the lower one can, It's like all the restrictions on the part of the system make room for the created beings to be able to receive the light?

R. No, all of those restrictions are supposedly in order to build degrees in the system that it will be more clear which lights, which screens, which vessels belong to each and every degree.

S. Acquiring these degrees?

R. Acquiring is only through raising MAN. If there is no degree, let’s say that expanded, so there's no more forces, so what does it do? Only through raising MAN. It can ask from above for more forces of the light to build more vessels, screens, it only works in that way.

12. S. (24:06) We usually learn that there's the expansion of the light and its departure making the Kli fit for its role.

R. Yes.

S. Here he talks about the diminishing of the light which makes the Kli worthy of its reception, so can you explain it, is it a different process, a different style?

R. The expansion of its light and its departure makes the vessel valid for its role, it builds the vessels.

S. That's clear why because there's a pleasure, I felt it and now I don't feel it, but there's a memory, a Reshimot, of that and then there's a lack. What's the diminution of the light here that it creates the Kli or prepares, qualifies the Kli, what is that process?

R. The diminution of the light, as he said earlier, so there's a deficiency in the vessel.

S. This means it’s after the light has entered there's a memory of it but now it receives a smaller portion.

R. Yes.

13. S. (25:15) Yesterday we learned that it's actually Malchut that connected with Bina, and they rose above and now it seems to be the follow-up process.

R. Yes.

S. Now, he writes that the Parsa is for the sake of Beria and not Atzilut.

R. Yes.

S. I want to understand, Beria actually belongs to Bina?

R. It belongs to Bina, it's below Atzilut, and it is actually the whole work is as much as we can add Beria to Atzilut.

S. All the matter of Parsa, that it’s now below the Parsa, is that a part of the mixture that it had with Malchut?

R. Yes.

S. Meaning, now it’s making some new place?

R. Everything comes from the mixture between Bina and Malchut, the whole process starts from that.
