Part 1: Rabash. Article No. 2, 1986. Lend Ear, O Heaven

Reader: Shalom, we are reading from, “The Writings of Rabash,” we are reading the article “Lend Ear, O Heaven.” You can find the article on our site and you can send live questions through the Sviva Tovah and Arvut system. Whoever asks a question, here, live, should stand up, hold the microphone close to his mouth, and speak loud and clear.

Reading: (00:33) Rabash. Article No. 2, 1986. “When the voice of my beloved...”

R. (52:32) Thank you very much, a great article. Are there any questions after this? Yes.

S. (52:52) What is this inversion of spirituality become from luxuries to necessity?

R. How does it happen?

S. How does it happen, how does it penetrate into the depth of the heart? How does it suddenly happen? It is like I do not have water.

R. I cannot explain, the Creator does it. If a person invests the energy, as he explains here, in connection, adhesion, in his efforts then gradually the upper light influences him and he comes closer.

S. The closest thing I can feel to that is maybe some pressure like with the surrounding light. It's pressure from the side of humanity or the created beings that we have to give them this abundance. On the other hand, as long as the Creator doesn't give or take it out, then also the Creator is lacking and I'm in the middle, kind of like a blockage in there, clogging it.

R. I do not understand this depiction. He is saying that each and every one according to his exertion receives a more precise guidance toward the purpose of creation. A person has to try and give gratitude for what he receives and advance this way.

S. So I advance, I advance.

R. No, no, no, no. It is not that I advance or not I will just go to sleep. No, it all depends on a person.

S. If I don't have water I'll do anything to get water, because I have no choice, I must have it. That's necessity.

R. Yes?

S. Who is the I that is like that towards spirituality? If he doesn't have that to bestow, then he...

R. Slowly, when a person wants to be more sensitive toward the influence from above he receives additional deficiency towards his beastly lacks relative to his beastly lacks. He receives, he feels a deficiency for bestowal, for adhesion, for the recognition of the Creator, for bestowal and it comes to him. He doesn't know where from and how but he sees that he has some relation to that and he advances.

S. Where does this suffering come from that he doesn't have it?

R. I don't know if he needs to suffer for it. A person has to ask himself is what he is feeling now, absence of bestowal, absence of spirituality is truly a deficiency of his or not? Can he develop that deficiency by himself to such an extent that I'm better off dead than alive, as it's written, or not and with the help of the group and everything we learn, all those means he comes to a greater deficiency. That's it. That's how it is. The entire work is ahead of you.

S. (57:38) He is talking about this very delicate art form when a person has to move from left to right at some stage otherwise he will remain in Lo Lishma or feel that Lo Lishma is not enough, that he has to want to come past that but he says, those who think that they're not capable of overcoming their desire, they're prohibited of going on the left line because the left line is also a danger that he will enter into despair, into leaving the path, etc.. So, where does a person have that knowledge that he's capable of going and the measure of how much he can go on the left line?

R. Each one is capable. Each one is capable of exerting and reaching the purpose of creation, the middle line and establish himself in that. That is what a person needs to tell himself that each one is capable.

S. It's okay for him to fall to despair from the left and rise again?

R. I am not allowed to advance on the left. Of course he’s going to fall from the left to despair but we are trying to be as much as possible on the right.

S. To advance on the right, that's clear. That's the fundamental matter but he says here there's a stage where a person has to engage on the left, either according to time, half an hour a day or according to some decision that he decides, half an hour a week or whatever it is, a month, no matter what, some decision a person has to decide upon. Then he says he has to be very cautious when it comes to this. If a person, if they think that they're not capable of overcoming their desires they're not allowed to go on the left line. How does a person know that he can or can't overcome this?

R. According to the environment. There is no such force in him to hold himself correctly but there's a group around him, friends, who can hold him and he can hold onto them, we're talking about a group attainment.

S. Meaning to the extent in which he feels that the environment is safe and gives confidence, then you can also touch to a certain extent to the criticism. Yes?

R. Yes, okay.

S. (01:00:57) He says that a person needs to make a certain order, a schedule, arrange his time when he's on the right when he's on the left. A person has, like a button on his hand and now he's spinning it to the right and now he's spinning it to the left and what leads a person to a state of wholeness is where he compares himself to others, I have and what the others have. I say I have a little and others don't have anything, that's my reason to be happy. The question is how can a person, each time he sees something, see that what he sees is not correct? Like, he's inventing some order that I have something more than others, the Creator loves me more than others, He gave me the privilege of engaging in Kedusha and others not. How do I know what others have? How do I invent such a story that gives me this feeling of wholeness about the right line?

R. That is from the onset we come from the evil inclination and that is why we think that our state is not the worst.

S. It's like, it'll be okay, you're okay. The evil inclination doesn't let me feel any worse than others.

R. Yes.

S. To move from this line, what drops a person from his state of wholeness, is to engage in Torah. The moment you engage in Torah it'll be like a mirror that shows him how far he is, ow lowly he is, how much he's not in holiness, how he's not in wholeness, how much work he has to do?

R. It is giving a person the power to advance, to rise.

S. It reveals to him the truth. Also he has thought about the truth that he wants to be the truth, that he's not in truth, he's in falsehood.

R. Yes.

S. It's like Rabash is taking us on a journey through all the states and all the calculations that a person has with himself in his head. It gives us the feeling that maybe we can create some kind of order and define a schedule for this and for that, once a week, etc.. Let's say it's three o'clock, I'm supposed to be in the left line, at four, we're done, move to the right line. It doesn't work like that in reality.

R. It works exactly like that, it works exactly like that. A person determines when and in what state he has to be.

S. The power to be able to engage in that order, where do we take it from?

R. From the air.

S. It's like you're a leaf in the air, you're flying from right to left, you don't have any control.

R. We are reading such things that we cannot talk about because it happens by the upper force but typically during the times of work the usual hours a person has, he can determine how to receive, how to take all those pressures he's under and how to advance. There is nothing special about it in fact. You do not need to throw it all on the Creator and say I have nothing here to do and I am going back home.

S. Let's take it into our world for a second. Let's say in the Ten I have to look at my friends as if they're the others that I have to check myself, my state, relative to their state?

R. I did not get it. I am among the friends and I need to see them connecting and climbing. ascending from day to day toward the purpose of creation.

S. That gives the strength to adhere to them, to be like them.

R. Of course.

S. This gives this feeling of wholeness. He can't be on the right line if he compares himself to his friends. It throws him towards seeing himself in lowliness.

R. He is not in lowliness, he has to prepare himself before he sees his successful friends to also have the need to be like them. So, I want to see either positive or negative but only in as much as it is going to help me ask for prayer and ask for the forces or ascent.

S. In the end the ascent from all of these things is the prayer that we raise to the Creator, we send and He sends you some kind of middle line, He kind of compliments between the right and the left between the lowliness and perfection, between left and right and the Creator makes peace between them because the whole life is not peace. It's like a war between two states.

R. When a person establishes for himself two lines he later finds the ability to arrange them, to put them together in the middle line.

S. We need to work on it.

R. Do not look for something to show that you have all those questions on the path. There are no questions. We have to work and that is it.

S. (01:07:09) He describes a state in which the left shows a deficiency in the right and the left shows a deficiency also on the left. What is the state where the left is showing the deficiency on the left?

R. Well, that is an incorporation of the right and left, sort of an entire spectrum of incorporation of the left line, all kinds of forms from the left line toward the right and each one of them also, either toward the right or the left. So, it turns out that this is how a person can make his calculations.

S. So the left is always relative to the right. There's no such thing that the left on its own does something.

R. The left, by itself can also see how much he is on the left.

S. Okay, so a question about the critique on the right. What does it mean to criticize the right if right is all that he attained so what is he checking in his right?

R. There will be articles about it and we will talk, there are such articles.

S. (01:08:34) It turns out that the Creator gives only what's necessary to a person. If it's luxury He doesn't answer that so how does bestowal become necessity?

R. For a person?

S. Yes, how does that become his necessity that he must have it?

R. He must have it otherwise he does not advance. For him only this is the power for advancement.

S. In the stage where a person's in Lo Lishma it's still not a necessity. It's still a luxury for him.

R. Yes.

S. How does he move to Lishma if it's a luxury for him?

R. He goes to Lishma out of the left you want to say?

S. Not only from the left but from the whole state meaning his desire, his deficiency for bestowal is still a luxury. it's not yet a necessity that it's kind of like, it doesn't let me sleep. So I'm asking, how from a state in which you're in this state of luxury in your relation towards spirituality, how from that place do you move suddenly to it becoming necessary for you?

R. Connection with others. The left does not give you connection it only separates, differentiates but the right gives you connection so try to connect as much as you can, imagine the good state, the right, bestowal and ask for that, pray for that.

S. It also turns out that on the right you don't have corrections, everything is in wholeness there. It's always, throughout the article he writes about this, that in the right the person doesn't have a prayer, he's just thanks and praises all the time and all his corrections are only in the left.

R. His corrections are certainly on the left but on the right, you can see also to what extent you have the degrees on the right.

S. Clear, so I'm going back again. So what exactly is he working in that period of Lo Lishma until he can enter into Lishma?

R. To have the tendency, the attraction to the right as big as possible.

S. What happens in that inclination towards the right, meaning all that we do in the environment it's all called working on the right?

R. Yes.

S. From there happens this inversion, where bestowal becomes a necessity?

R. Yes, it's interesting how it gets inverted because envy, lust, and honor take a person out of this world. There are different forces there. Although they raise a person in Lishma. In the beginning they are such egoistic phenomena. We'll learn about it more.

S. (01:12:22) About the schedule that we needed to make. So he says schedule once a day a week, a month, etc., arrange half an hour to work in the left and you said, I mean at four or five o'clock or whatever, it has to be so technically inclined and in our world, only when you're in the right, then you can approach the left. So how to arrange it? Like if it's according to time or according to the fact that you're in ascent then you can?

R. [No translation]

S. Can you say how we start the work in the left? Let's say it's at four o'clock and I want to start the work on it. What am I asking myself? How does the work in the left begin? How do we enter that left line?

R. The best is from reading.

S. To read and see myself there?

R. Yes, you are reading about a certain state you enter it and then you continue, also alone it's also difficult.

S. What does it mean that alone is difficult?

R. Alone, by yourself it's difficult. The most correct is in the society. It's safest. Yes, in a small group the influence of the environment.

S. (01:14:14) Rabash says that the minute we work in wholeness in the right line I have to then start criticizing this work. Rav just gave a recommendation to do it through the writing and through the writings you see your own internality where you stand. So what is the criticism we have to do on the right that he writes about? He writes, therefore we should work with attention and criticism on the right line, meaning to see the deficiencies that we have on the right line because of it to the extent that he feels the deficiencies, meaning that the deficiencies he sees mean nothing because the inspiration of a person, the impression of a person from deficiencies depends on what a person is. It's hard to feel the deficiencies, something incomplete. So what's the criticism on the right? How do I criticize the right from the right line, from wholeness?

R. In the group when we connect and to the extent that we can raise the right, the goal, from that you can see how much you're successful or not.

S. What I need here is the inversion that you talked about with the Kokan because here is the tipping point that Rabash talks about between the luxuries and necessity that in this tipping point we get this necessity, we have to get, so the work in the group, how does it become inverted? Sorry for insisting here but I feel like in this work the will to receive wants to steal your work to make you happy.

R. How can we, through working on the right, increase the right, rise above?

S. How do we criticize correctly?

R. Criticize through the right. That is according to the feeling. How should I say this? To the extent that... Hmm. I don't know how to express this. As much as our feeling is more, is bigger, bigger than... I can't find the words.

S. Can I try something else?

R. Yes.

S. He writes afterwards that this criticism gives a person the distinction between the two things that deny one another and that leads him to a prayer that the Creator has to decide. So in the work in the Ten how do we force the Creator to decide?

R. By turning to Him.

S. What is this turning to Him?

R. Like a prayer.

S. Just like that in the simplest way?

R. We prepare ourselves and we demand of Him that we'll feel His determination inside us.

S. So this criticism on the right, it's only among the friends in the Ten? Criticism on the left is something internal that I do?

R. Both can be in the Ten. Both. But you have to try and scrutinize that to express it. Yes.

S. (01:18:51) Maybe in some context he says that when you're on the right you have to discover that you're in falsehood, and then when you are in falsehood and you can't stand it because you're summoning this left inside, because you're living in Lo Lishma and not for her sake.

R. I don't understand what state you're speaking of.

S. He writes here, therefore we should work with attention and criticism on the right line.

R. Yeah.

S. Meaning to see the deficiencies that are on the right line and because of it, to the extent that he feels the deficiencies, meaning that the deficiencies he sees still mean nothing because a person's impression from deficiencies depend on how much it touches his heart to feel the deficiency as something incomplete, and he has a tendency toward the truth and he loathes falsehoods, so if this deficiency touches him, meaning it causes him suffering, he torments him in the state he is in, then the previous state of the right line is inverted and he had wholeness, turns into suffering and then he can pray to the Creator. That's what I mean, that point of inversion that the right line becomes torment, suffering.

R. It conceals the adhesion from him. The right conceals the adhesion. He supposedly receives things that close his vision, they block the path.

S. In other words, when I have this small wholeness on the right line its purpose is to lead me to see that I'm living in falsehood and to feel the suffering from the lie that I'm living in.

R. Yes, the purpose of creation isn't to be on the right, it's to be on the middle, the middle line.

S. So that's the process, it has to happen there?

R. Yes.

S. (01:21:28) Rav, it sounds like in order to get into this scrutiny you have to be protected with a lot of strength from the environment on the right, because you can't simply start criticizing with yourself, you have to do it in a group.

R. Without that you can't start, without that it's all false.

S. So today we're going to meet and we're going to exalt our goal to unite, to do some powerful work that we wait for all week long. When we are together and the greatness of the goal is clear already, as Rabash writes in, “The Agenda Of The Assembly,” is this the time when everything is clear and the greatness of the society is clear to us? Is this a good time to try to take a step toward the left together or is this not the right place to deal with it?

R. Check, check. Is this the time for it or not?

S. (01:22:43) PT 23 It is written, those who feel in themselves that they are not working, meaning they think that they cannot overcome their desires, they are forbidden to walk on the left line. How does one check oneself if he can overcome before he shifts to the left? What's the gauge? What's the measurement?

R. We still have to be concerned about supporters, something that strengthens us, that a person will know what he can lean on and according to that advance, meaning before I jump I have to know how I jump, where I'm jumping to, what could happen, and so on. I build my future state.

S. (01:24:06) Africa. What activities between us do we do in a transition from Lo Lishma in order to reach Lishma?

R. Bestow and dissemination. That's what I'd say.

S. (01:24:30) Belarus. Is self-criticism already awareness of evil, of the bad in spiritual work?

R. The question is as much as a person can aim his self-criticism that it will be correct, or maybe not correct but lead him on the path.

S. (01:25:10) Women Chile and Women PT6. What does it mean that the Creator gives the middle line?

R. The middle line doesn't exist in nature. The middle line is a combination of the left and the right. That's why only the upper force can couple them together.

S. (01:25:48) Women Turkey 9. How does the group help a person feel the deficiency?

R. I can't imagine how it could be without a group. One gives one deficiency, the other brings another deficiency, the third brings an example, the fourth brings support in something. All in all, the group, if we learn about the Ten Sefirot, then we'll get there, that we will feel them, the way that in their combination they build a pillow for a person that he can be secure. We'll learn about it at some point. Now we still don't have enough information for it.

S. (01:27:00) Rabash is describing a situation where a person begins to serve Him on the right line and that gives him the feeling of wholeness and strength and the ability to advance in the work.

R. Yes.

S. My impression is that in our Ten, and I'm assuming in all the Tens, everyone is acting toward each other. In the right line, greatness, wholeness, but in practice, in the heart, it's not quite what a person feels. The question is from where do we take the strength to work on the right line? Should it really be constantly a feeling of wholeness and delight and joy on the path or is it war, struggle, and hard work?

R. You constantly need to depict to yourself that you're in front of the Creator and all other calculations, or thoughts, or desires, and your prayers, you find them from that point.

S. If it's not depicted in your heart, meaning it does in your mind, but not in your heart?

R. So, at least in your mind and in the heart, it'll come. The heart really isn't that flexible.

S. Just to understand if it's okay to be in the right, only in potential, but not in the feeling because I see that for some people it's natural to be in gratitude, and you're not there.

R. It'll come to everybody.

S. (01:29:10) There's a feeling that the order of actions leads a person to a procession of feelings that the activities are not important but this procession itself is important. That if there's a procession of feelings it's an integral, then there is a soul.

R. Well.

S. There is this feeling that this gratitude to Rabash that from point to point he creates a beautiful picture.

R. Okay.

S. (01:30:03) On the right line, Lishma is always luxurious or maybe on the right line Lishma is not a luxury.

R. I don't understand.

S. I can't find it in the article right now, but he writes that on the right line a person doesn't feel that the state of Lishma, that he needs the state of Lishma, that it's luxurious. It's not really a deficiency when he's on the right line. So the question is, is it always like that, that on the right line a person cannot come to a state where my death is better than my life because I have to get Lishma?

R. A person eventually, if he develops, he must reach a feeling that he has to enter Lishma.

S. It doesn't matter right or left. He simply comes to that state and that's it.

R. Yes.

S. Can I ask another question?

R. Well.

S. It's written here, we have to know that the third line called middle line, the Creator gives it. When does the Creator give the third, the middle line?

R. That I don't know how to say. Every person has, like, when he gets like his vessel.

S. (01:31:49) I want to join the gratitude for the articles of Rabash. He writes that both the right line and the left line are moving according to a person's relation to society. First a person looks around and sees what everyone engages in and he was rewarded with engaging even for a moment with a connection with the Creator, and he's delighted about it, and he's on the right line. Afterwards there's a leap to the left line and from what I read, the left line, he writes that there cannot be a real request to a person if it doesn't feel that it's necessary. On the other hand, he says that a person's necessity depends on how he looks outside and sees that everyone has it, and he doesn't, so it makes it necessary. So there's an inversion. First, he sees that everyone has it, and he doesn't. No one has it, and he does, so he's on the right line. Then he sees that everyone has it, and he doesn't, and then he can pray. How do we come to a state when we look around and see that everyone is in Lishma, except for me? How do we build such a reality?

R. The Creator does. The Creator builds it.

S. Meaning, until the Creator decides that a person is worthy of having their left line he won't have this picture?

R. No.

S. (01:33:31) Rabash tells us in the article that there's a matter from the depth of the heart, from the bottom of the heart, and then he writes about a deficiency within the heart. The deficiency in the heart comes from the bottom of the heart and a little while ago I heard that there are many depths in the depth of the heart.

R. There's no place for that here. He doesn't go into that. He doesn't scrutinize it.

S. Our work in the Ten arouses a lot of envy and every time there's a feeling that I look at my friends with envy and I manage to come closer to them and be incorporated in their work, in their feelings, at that point I suddenly discover that there's another place where I'm still not there. Are these states called another depth in the depths of the heart?

R. Well, yes, let's say. It's still not the depth that will be revealed.

S. (01:35:17) Turkey 2. How can a person break loose, break free from negative thoughts during the day, like, I can't, I'm not succeeding, I'm not advancing and so forth?

R. Let him think of bestowal and not of as much as he's not receiving. That he'll be in a tendency to advance and not in deficiencies. Let him try. Also most important is to be involved with the friends. The common Kli, the common vessel, feels his deficiencies in a different dimension, in a different extent than one person, than an individual.

S. (01:36:41) Turkey 1. Can you please explain what is written at the end of the first paragraph, for the love of the Creator for you, as it is written, open for me my beloved?

R. We'll learn that. To open this whole sentence it's from the “Song of Songs” and when that's what the Creator says about the Shechina, about the place that He will be revealed, that she actually brings Him to a connection with the created beings. The created beings receive this connection, and their connection with the Creator opens up. That is what is waiting for all of us at the end of our corrections.

S. (01:38:15) Kiev 1. You talked about studying the Ten Sefirot in the Ten. What does it mean to study the Ten Sefirot in the Ten?

R. I don't remember what I wanted to say. Obviously, we don't learn about ourselves what the Ten Sefirot are and how we ascend or connect and complete one another. We all learn that on ourselves.

S. How do we learn this on ourselves?

R. It'll come. Such articles will come too. It'll be okay.

S. (01:39:12) New York 2. What change in a person would trigger the middle line to arrive and decide this back and forth between the left and the right and what one with Lishma?

R. Simple, a screen on the coarseness that's in a person.

S. So, is it accurate to say that Lishma is a state where one can sense exactly what is needed? Meaning, when and how long to spend in the left?

R. If a person starts working correctly in his environment, so after a few states he starts seeing, according to his relation towards the friends and the friends' response back to him, and the Creator's relation to all of them, from those three pieces of data he can start seeing the system of connections between everyone and advance correctly. Of course, there is prayer in here and scrutiny, but he has a foundation that he can stand on and advance.

S. (01:41:11) ITA 3. Here it says that in matters that concern the heart, the heart is not impressed by others. So how can a deficiency touch my heart?

R. Deficiency from above, from the group and from the Creator, it touches my heart and enters my heart and there it determines its state.

S. After all those years of learning I understand that the forces of right and left, I cannot manage them, they just go through me without my control. Can I control these forces? Or maybe you can give us some advice on how to govern these two forces that are so powerful?

R. We can't manage anything without the Creator. That is the only force in reality that we can influence all parts of reality with it. So, what we are learning is how to organize all of reality that is revealed before us and bring it to the complete and ultimate balance.

S. (01:43:14) MAK 4. Can we focus inner work on the right line and the left line by accepting that the one to awaken the left line is the nations of the world within us, and the solution comes from the Creator and this is what enables us to exist together with the nations of the world and this is how it continues all the time. We are in every state that we reveal to the Creator, we draw holiness on it.

R. We need to accumulate experience. From that experience we will see how this system affects through its parts on one another and we will try to control it in short.

S. The work in Lo Lishma, is it based on feelings and Lishma on the intellect?

R. For now you can think that, it'll change as we go on.

S. (01:45:02) Turkey 8. We learn that we are in an ocean of light but we don't feel it. It's like a fish doesn't feel the water. How can we feel the light that the Creator wants to give us?

R. According to equivalence of form with Him, as much as we resemble the light, the general force of bestowal, then according to that we will feel that we're in it. That's all of our work.

S. (01:46:26) Latin 1. There are situations where white and red can collide, one sees the full half of the cup and one sees the empty half. How are these qualities related to activating the middle line?

R. They need to incorporate together and when all the qualities incorporate we can attain the truth.

S. (01:47:09) Latin 12. What is the meaning of working on the left line in the Ten? How do we know that we are on the left line?

R. Left isn't a descent. The left, the left line, is a revelation of a deficiency that's between us and we need to attain.

S. (01:47:57) Latin 4. What is the deficiency of the heart?

R. Deficiency of the heart. We feel the most internal deficiency we usually call that the deficiency in the heart.

S. What is the difference between a deficiency and a desire?

R. A desire that feels a deficiency that is really called a desire. If that desire can implement itself that's already called a whole and complete desire.

S. (01:49:17) PT 6. What is the connection between Galgalta-Eynaim and AHAP and the right and left lines? Is there a connection?

R. No. Right and left are types of work. Galgalta-Eynaim and AHAP are parts of the vessel.

S. When we talk about desires is there no connection in the desires?

R. No.

S. (01:50:31) Zafon 1. A person who studies Kabbalah and wants to reach Lishma is not comforted by the fact that others don't have spiritual attainments, although we say that a sorrow shared is a sorrow halved. As we read in the article, if my teeth hurt it doesn't comfort me that others suffer from the same thing. To be worthy of spirituality are we too supposed to have such a powerful deficiency like toothache that cannot be alleviated by anything?

R. It is desired, very much.

S. (01:51:20) Women Hebrew 1. A person tries to keep his thoughts on the right line all day, tries to cultivate it, and then he has to go to the left line. How does he go in there correctly because there's fear that he will make all his thoughts dirty now.

R. Well.

S. How does he get into it correctly?

R. First of all connect with all your friends and then be with them together  and then approach the realization of what you want.

S. Is it to connect with them in the thoughts, in the heart?

R. First the heart, first the thought then through the heart.

S. After that we have to come to a state where the right line causes suffering. He looks at his thoughts on the right and they seem to him like they're causing him suffering. So when he returns to the right, at the end of the half hour, is it the same right that he had before or is it a different right line now?

R. Of course it's all different.

S. (01:52:43) Women Latin 24. How do we know if we're working on the right line toward Lishma or how do we know if we're working on the left line toward Lishma, out of a need, and not out of a luxury?

R. Oh. We have to begin from Lo Lishma to Lishma by nurturing a greater and greater necessity for it until we see that the deficiency for it is truly the biggest deficiency within us, in a person.

S. (01:54:00) Siberia. Do I understand correctly that there are two types of orders? First in corporeality of balance and then balance of right and left, which is two different decisions.

R. Yes, this is how you can resolve this problem. That way too.

S. What order comes first?

S. There's a commandment to take care of your necessities first and then deal in spirituality and here Rabash says to take a decision about your states.

R. Here it means that spirituality becomes a necessity when it remains alone but before that you also have to think about corporeality, as it is written, that without bread there is no Torah.”
