Morning Lesson August 17, 2021 Transcription
1. Rav’s Introduction: Yesterday I got a call from one of our friends and he says that he sees from day to day how he is becoming more distant, worse, weaker, and that he doesn't see an end to it. He doesn't see that he is advancing and here, I needed to help him calm down as he was broken, he didn't find any strength. I told him we need to search in the writing specifically as there's a lot of material of how we advance first of all by seeing the truth that to the extent a person advances when he enters the wisdom of Kabbalah that he advances by seeing his own nature more and more, meaning how distance is from bestowing, from the Creator, from the friends, from everything. Everything that is shown to him that he should be advancing towards, he sees that he is falling behind and coming distant so explain to him; that this distancing is not distancing and also how he was before that he was even more, further away than now, he sees the truth better. That he is advancing more now, to the extent that a person sees he is distant from the Creator, from spirituality, how bad or how opposite he is now, it's not that he's like this now but he sees that he's like this now and it is considered that he has advanced the same.
Like in the writings in Psalms where there was a righteous man, all of these writings of the Kabbalists that they wrote from being in the path and writing about their states, meaning to the extent a person attains the negative things, they also existed before, but as Baal HaSulam said “I am joyful for the evil that is being revealed”, and “you should place your eyes upon them that they would turn into a pile of bones”. It is written in one of the letters that there is nothing new, everything comes from the shattering and everything is concealed from us in order to give us the opportunity to advance. Otherwise we are under a pile of the evil inclination and there is nothing worse than a person in the whole world and each one would feel his nature as the worst of anyone else. Therefore, we have to understand that we are discovering what happens and it appears from the shattering that there is nothing that is actually new after the shattering, only a person after his efforts, the more that he becomes close to the Creator the more that he sees he is far from Creator. This shouldn't weaken us even though it does, and it shouldn't scare us even though it does, we just need to move forward as the wise who sees the future outcome. This is how I have to discover my true nature and I just have to have the means to discover this nature in its true way. This means that I'm not afraid, I don't run away, I don't fall into despair, I don't want to hide from it but that I immediately turn to the Creator with the friends and ask with any words and any sense of address that He will save me.
As you saved my soul and this is how we advance. The point here is that we see ourselves as distant, loathsome, bad and this point is critical that from this our entire line towards the end of correction is the more that we see ourselves worse and worse because we become closer to the Creator, so in comparison to Him we see ourselves as worse. So this needs to be as a symbol for us, as a foundation to reaching out to Him correctly. We need more strength, we need to turn to the Creator and here one will help his friend we need to give each one an example, that's why there is prayer and prayer in the public and that is how we advance. Each and every day we talk about this and we read some excerpts together and we bring ourselves to reach out to the Creator and with that we come closer.
We bring ourselves back to a state where the evil is revealed and from that same evil that the Creator has created, I have created the evil inclination and we need to be more connected and to demand from him to correct our connection as it was before the shattering. All of the evil that is revealed is a result after the shattering and we need to ask from Him to raise us above the shattering. By that, we will advance from the shattering to Him. This is why we need to remember and I'm saying this again to the same friend who called and said he's not capable of doing this anymore, that the wisdom of Kabbalah is only bringing him evil and each day that he is worse. You're not worse every day but you are seeing every day who you are and this is specifically to show you that this is an invitation from the Creator that He is giving you the opportunity and the place to reach out to Him. This is what I wanted to say. Because yesterday I was glad that he said that, as that is how he is accepting things on one hand, on the other hand, I saw that maybe there is still some explanation here and this is why I said what I said. Let us continue.
2. S. (09:48) We have many friends with different roles in Bnei Baruch. They have some balance or confidence and maybe they don't really feel such extreme ups and downs like the others. Is this a problem?
R. No, it is not a problem as we all advance in our own pace of progress, everyone has the difference of height of ups and downs, these jumps. Everyone has a certain kind of attitude and relationship with the Creator, and also with the relationship with the Creator and the group, and with life and life events, from this all depends upon each one's desire to receive, the broken desire that comes from the sin of the Tree of Knowledge. Everyone is different in this regard, so do not try to compare oneself to others, also because you can't as you don't understand that, we can't compare between each other. We can only connect to aid each other and each one has his own positive and negative things, but together we advance correctly, in a meaningful way if we connect between us above all of the things that appear. Specifically above all of the crimes, the mutual resistance and rejection from all of the calculations. The more we try to be connected, and first, it appears as something tasteless, I do this because it is written I get closer to others. This is what the Kabbalistic wrote so I must do that. Then I begin to discover that specifically in connection between us I find an opportunity to strengthen on the path and therein lies, by connecting between us I find not just strength but connection and direction of progress.
This appears to me that it comes from connecting further with the friends, meaning that the connection between us provides me with a direction towards the goal as well as power to move forward towards the goal and solve the problems that open on the path. I gradually feel that all of the problems, questions, and disturbances, whatever it is, that it all relates to the connection between us and then I don't let go of that connection. That becomes to me like a light tower, you could say that. I really got emotional when he told me yesterday how he can't do it and how the rejection is being revealed to him, in with such indifference towards the friends and lack of understanding of our entire process that he doesn't know where to escape to. According to his mind he understands that he has nowhere as he looks at the world that is just falling, shattering and breaking that there is nothing to hold on to. He said I would go somewhere to escape but I guess, thank goodness, that the Creator has set up the case that there was no place to escape to. This is good because we understand how weak we are, how the vessels will be revealed as weak and shattered and similarly the world will also seem to us as shattered and not offering us any kind of attraction and our weakness is that way.
3. S. (15:23) I understand the Creator‘s game and therefore in the 10 I do actions only to unite the friends, to unite to 10. That I set an example to see the friends, that they are far from the goal and there's a lack of importance. Does this mean we are advancing?
R. You are advancing first of all because you are attending the lesson each day and you get the entire force from our whole world group and by that you are advancing. You are also experiencing different excerpts and discussions throughout the day by connections, there are all kinds of actions that you are doing above your desire. For example you need to meet at 12 pm you don’t feel like it, you have many things to do, you are tired, the evil inclination awakens inside each one on purpose. One is running to meetings and has no resistance or rejection, this is not a good sign. That everything is actually revealed, measured according to the resistance according to the rejection even, the repulsion from the friends and the group, from the Creator, from everything. A person understands this and feels it, holds on to it on the one hand and on the other hand without canceling that evil inclination, together with that he tries to rise above it to come to connection, to the friends. Accordingly we are advancing on two legs, left and right, reject and the right attracts, we need both of them as we need to grow upon the desire to receive that is revealed and on our exertions we ask from the Creator and the group and by that we advance.
4. S. (18:22) No matter how much we demand, the Creator gives us salvation when He wants, so why do we demand?
R. If you would not demand then you would not feel the response of the Creator because your demand is the vessel upon which you feel what is responded to you. This is why our demand is called raising MAN. By that, we learn who we are, what our desire is, how to connect and how to get the Creator the same question and deficiency. Then how the Creator answers us, me, or everyone, slowly we begin to connect these things together and I begin to lose my personality, my individuality on the path. I begin to feel that I am asking together with everyone, that I am receiving together with everyone and slowly we begin to connect more into this single state then it is considered that one receives one, and in such a way we reveal the Creator. How should I put this? This time that we are in, the most important thing is not to advance individually, personally, only me but to the extent that I am drawn to the others and there I will feel my correct future and that is the main thing for us to discover that everything will be revealed in our time in the connection between us. This is why we have exertion to build this world system, to be connected all of us together in the same, in all languages, anyone that wants to and this is the key to success.
5. S. (21:23) Why in relation to everything that is written in the writing, everything that we learn, we still follow when new states appear instead of strengthening?
R. It is written about that, that the righteous will fall one thousand times and get up, meaning there can't be an advancement without first falling, descending, feeling how opposite and distant they are and then upon the distance and coarseness you rise, without failures there isn't really the ability to advance. You remember the example with Baal Shem Tov how he received great descent that even he used to forget words and letters, to such an extent that you will see how we advance, we will discover such states. I've been in this for forty years, every time the detachment, the descent throws me away, completely erasing my entire mind and my heart, and emotion, everything that I had attained yesterday, today just appears. This is how it is each and every time and the more you advance the descents are thicker and you need to have thicker ascents and the frequency increases so you need to think of connection. If we're thinking of connection all the time then all of the detachment centers our inclination and it is more and more, faster and faster with higher frequencies, and then a person feels that he advances and each moment he feels detachment and loneliness. This is natural; it is the revelation of evil and there is nothing that comes from us. We need to arrange this quick approach from descent to ascent.

R.
Yes

with
the
friends

build

infrastructure

advance
from
spirituality
to
spirituality

7. S. (27:58) How is a descent different from shame where one feels complete oppositeness to the Creator?
R. A descent is a feeling when I am opposite from the Creator and here there are all kinds of states that I am with whatever I feel from the Creator and the descent that I am already facing the Creator so I am happy I found a means to bestow upon him and what form I need to bring myself to is a different form already.
8. S. (29:04) Let's say we went through a wonderful day connected to all of the meetings and I wake up in the morning and I expect to see myself as a human and I see in the mirror an egoistic monster who doesn't really love the friends or anyone else and I have to come to the lesson and act as a human. How do I overcome this dissonance between my inner feelings and how I need to look towards the friends?
R. You have to do it, you have to awaken the friends regardless of what you feel inside, regardless of what you feel. I sometimes feel in what states I am sometimes in, that there is a necessary role and you must do this with the whole Kli, you even owe it to all of humanity. Without going into high words, but we want to tell humanity about the method of advancing towards the Creator and we need that same upper force that created us, he is expecting something from us. So there is two parts in a person one part that is feeling himself in his desire to receive and above that wanting to do a restriction, screen and as much as you can returning light to connect to the friends and to aim all of this to the Creator and this needs to be together with him working together in all kinds of states. This is what we need to get used to. This is our correction. I truly hope that the upcoming events, internal and external; also, ones that will take place in nature that all of them will bring us closer to understanding the purpose and advancing to the purpose.
9. S. (31:57) It's also written in the work that we have to be in a state of joy, so how do we work with these contradictions?
R. There is no contradiction here. I am joyful for having overcome rejection, confusion because I understand that the new records are being awakened from my shattered soul and this is the healing process. It is like if someone goes to the doctor, you need to first have the diagnosis of what is wrong with you, and if you know what is wrong that is already half of the cure and you know what to give. If you don't know what to give, revelation of evil is the first thing to get any state because we all come from evil. A little more evil is opened up each time and is corrected in small portions.
S. So it is just the state of overcoming that makes you enjoy?
R. Joy is a result as it says happiness is a result of good deeds, I am not drawn to happiness I am drawn to the truth, to discover. “In truth” means where am I in relation to the group, because they're I can quickly find out what my true state is. My attitude to the Creator, how to advance to Him, that is how I solve it. The most important is to solve it quickly through our connection. We need to begin to discover how this is the loyal and powerful tool and for that we return to our system that is prior to the shattering.
10. S. (35:08) What exactly are the descents and ascents going to end, is adhesion the only way to end it?
R. I can only say one thing to the extent it is written, I can see the ups and downs will continue until the end of correction because the order of correction which the shattering is revealed it has been corrected and again revealed, and then again corrected in slices and this is how we advance to the end of correction. When you advance you find greater shattered desires and accordingly a willingness to correct them.
11. S. (36:27) We incorporate in the lessons in the daily Zoom meetings and we think about the 10 meeting and there's resistance, how do you awaken the heart? You first had signs of advancements that you understand and feel more, that you are happier.
R. You try, it's not really important if you succeed or not you will slowly reach a state that you will suddenly find that in the 10 you find the ability to advance. Without a 10 you don't feel that you advance, you first had signs of advancements that you understand and feel more, that you are happier all kinds of signs until you reach a state that you are despairing and you begin to feel that this despair is bringing you did your connection with the 10, the internality of the 10 you find this interconnection as for you it opens up and you begin to hold on to this anchor. R. You will advance and you will see that they are not coming themselves but you see how you are awakening the descents and you can cause the exit from the descents as you advance you will see.
13. S. (39:10) We learned that we need to cancel before the upper one and when the Creator throws us off the path we have to resist, why is it considering not resisting the upper one?
R. When you feel this collision it's not with respect to the Creator, you are not scrutinizing the state enough. Continue and you will see.
S. When he throws you off the path?
R. No one throws you off the path except for your desire to receive which is now being revealed in you, and only towards one goal: that you will connect to advancements because you cannot advance without the addition of the desire to receive that you correct and by that you are taking a step forward. That is how we advance and that is why if you hold onto the group then you understand more quickly and feel and pass all of the negative awakening to positive as we have no choice as we advance only this way. In our time heavier souls are being revealed that are in more of a state of ruined than in the past that's why it's hard for a person to understand why he needs the group and can't connect to the Creator and that he will sit around and wait for the Creator to make these changes for him. We will succeed by realizing what the Kabbalist advises us to do.
14. S. (41:41) I feel very lucky to be in a 10 where everyone is very dedicated to the work, everyone loves the work, and they come to the meetings all the time. We go through our ups and downs and we have great meetings. My question is, is there a way of recognizing or knowing that we are getting to unity, to being unified, and feeling as one man with one heart or is this something that we will only know when it happens?
R. You all don't need to know more than what you are discovering because what appears to you is exactly, not more or not less, exactly what you need for making a step forward. If you know more than that, it will confuse you. And how will you know if you don't have the vessels for it? Don't ask for more. Ask for just one thing, how through the connection to be more in bestowal to the Creator. Until you begin to feel that your inner connection is truly that state which you all desire to attain, to renew and strengthen, only there in the connection between you. Just like Rabash writes about the friends, that there is no reality but the friends, and that I become incorporated in them. Specifically in that way I also save myself. Recently I feel that we actually have very good progress in the world Kli in that respect. I recommend each and every one to pay attention to how much he gets from that, because there is already a lot of strength which can save each and every one here.
15. S. (44:10) What is the meaning of advancing in some way through the 10, you used that term before?
R. To advance through the 10 means that each time I’m drawn only to one state, to be more and more connected with them. It doesn't matter what I have in life. In my spiritual life everything that has to do with spiritual ascent I see the solution as going deeper into the 10 until I find my womb there, the upper one. The Creator appears there and this is how He advances me to be as one man in one heart.
S. It happens when I have problems that I come to the 10 and I raise my friends. Is it possible that I also have friends who perhaps put some kind of obstacle that I rise above and that is also an advancement?
R. First of all, it's not the friends, but the Creator doing it to you so you overcome all these barriers and that is how you advance. You cannot advance without barriers.
16. S. (46:30) Can we force the Creator to illuminate upon us, and if yes, how?
R. Only together in a common prayer that we want to bestow to Him. Not that we ask Him to shine on us.
S. We don't need to agree for states of darkness to continue and continue?
R. Why not?
S. Why yes?
R. Why are you with the friends and towards the Creator? To bestow to Him and then your bestowing to Him will seem to you as light. Think about it.

R. To the extent that we are drawn to connection, we draw the light and the light does the work. The whole work is the Creator's work but according to our invitation.
24. S. (57:26) What is clear so far is the fear of another blow from the Creator on the desire to receive and it feels the size of an abyss. How do we minimize this distance to be able to work on every blow because during the blow itself it feels like there is a lack of strength.
R. Only according to patience and efforts.
25. S. (58:14) He writes here in the excerpt that the desire to receive disturbs from receiving pleasure and fulfillment.
R. The revelation of the Creator in the created being which is called Torah or light. That’s it.
S. In times of the descent like you described there is some desire to depict the next future state. What should we do to reach this good stage of pleasure?
R. Not to disconnect from the path, to read the sources and connect with the friends. As it is written ‘whatever your ability allows you to do you should do’.
S. You said today that through the connection we solve our problems. That in the connection between us there is light with pleasure. How do we connect? What does it mean that we are drawn?
R. You are drawn to connection even though you don't want it but you forcefully try to move yourself to connection between you as you were before the shattering of Adam HaRishon. Then in such a way you hasten your correction even though you don't know and you don't understand. But the more that you try to make this connection happen, the more you push yourself closer to correction, and you draw the light that reforms. So connection with the friends, even though it is very, very repulsive and despicable to us, but still, it is what we have to maintain.
S. That same friend who called you. What does he now need to do. He is connecting with the friends. Will his problems disappear? He starts feeling better by connecting with the friends?
R. He can try but that is the only thing that is going to be a solution, the study, the group, that is it, nothing besides that. More accurately, the study in the group, to put it shortly. There is nothing besides that. We want to use the study to draw the lights to the group so that it corrects and connects us in order to bestow and fulfills us in order to bestow. Ultimately there are not many things here. There was a vessel that was broken and we have to make sure it is revived from the shattering.
26. S. (01:01:52) This week we had a small shattering in the 10 and one of the friends said that he hopes that our shattering will prevent a greater blow for humanity, is that correct?

27. S. (01:03:10) What is the difference between the barrier that the Creator places to the obstacles the ego places along the way?
R. I see no difference. The Creator plays with us through the ego. This is called ‘I have created the evil inclination’ this is how we advance.

28. R. (01:05:02) Baal HaSulam writes that the strongest light that reforms exists in the wisdom of Kabbalah. It shines in the most effective way for one who is in the group and that is how we advance.

29. R. (01:08:40) That is a very, very high demand. That is really being a bridegroom to the Creator, where the Kingdom of Heaven is the bride. Still we are going to have to move toward this direction. Meaning, the more that we enter the connection with the 10, the more we receive the light that reforms through the connection between us in the 10, then bit by bit, gradually, we move away from our egoistic desires. They lose their importance to us. Then we can transcend them and reach a state where our intentions are only towards the bridegroom, meaning the Creator.
30. S. (01:10:01) I wanted to scrutinize about the previous excerpt that mind and heart receive assistance from Torah; many times the mind does not agree with the heart or vice versa, as one convinces the other and sometimes neither of them want anything, so mind and heart receive assistance from Torah. What is this exactly?
R. That in both thoughts and Desires begin to change and then further and further agree with, in order to bestow.

31. S. (01:13:25) What are organs that extend from the heart?
R. The individual desire; Heart is the desire that includes all the 613 desires.
32. S. (01:13:44) If we are egoistic then how can we have organs that extend our heart?
R. But our heart is also entirely broken as it is a stony heart, it is the whole source of our ego. That is why all of these desires that emerge from the heart are all egotistical and the connection between our hearts are also egotistical. It is all one big ego that is made up of a complexity of everything.
S. It says in excerpt #15 ‘the Holy Divinity cannot appear in its true form which is the state of grace and beauty except when one has fine Kelim, which are the organs extending from the heart’. So he is asking, these organs that extend from the heart, in which the holy Divinity can be revealed, are they in me because I'm full of ego’? Where are they?
R. Here, he's already talking about the corrected state; where things emerge from heart to heart and then from the connection of the hearts, such relations are revealed; that in them is where the Creator is revealed, where the Shechina/ Divinity is revealed.
33. S. (01:16:46) Is thinking about the benefit of Malchut, is thinking about the Creator?
R. Yes it is the same thing.
34. S. (01:17:13) It says a person has to purify his heart, to annul his will to receive for himself as if it is an independent act from the person, is it so?
R. It certainly is like that but it is done by the upper force. However, by the request of a person, as a person can do no action, no act of correction but rather he asks and the Creator does. It is always that way.
35. S. (01:18:08) About excerpt 14, the Kingdom of Heaven is the will to receive in order to bestow?
R. Right, Malchut is the desire and heaven is the desire to bestow.
S. Is there anything else in Malchut of heaven?
R. The concept of the Kingdom of Heaven is used in many places but altogether it is Malchut which is willing to work in order to bestow towards Bina, this is why it is called Malchut of Heaven, Malchut of Bina.

36. S. (01:22:16) It says he wants to give all of his possessions to the Creator, that is not clear and it's also not clear that he acquires possessions because it is the Creator's will.
R. If a person does everything according to how he thinks the Creator demands of him, both when he receives and bestows, then all of his actions are correct. Meaning, prior to you, being certain it is the desire of the Creator, don't do it. Both when it comes to reception and bestowal, as you can error in both ways; that's why it is written sit and don't do, it is better. Then, only out of being connected to the Creator through the society and discover the true direction of His desire, of His will, then accordingly you can start to act and your actions will be correct.
S. How to do this practically, is there a recommendation?
