Part 3:
Baal HaSulam. The Arvut [Mutual Guarantee]. #25
Item number 25 (00:22) "Now there remains the complete..,”
1. R. (00:57) Here we have to focus on the words of prior consent. Meaning if one keeps it individual it's not considered rather has to be in a great crowd around the world where everyone keeps this relationship of love your friend is yourself which is what the entire Torah revolves around.
Reading continues (01:24) "This is why it took until they came out of Egypt.."
2. S. (02:14 It's unclear he says that there's prior consent and then he continues that it was extended until the exit of Egypt until they would become worthy of observing it, that's two conditions?
R. Of course without the question, and the ability to receive the answer cannot happen.
S. What comes first?t The agreement of this consent or that they're worthy of observing it?
R. Read it again.
Item number 25: (02:28) again
3. S. (04:16) We open this up and it's something interesting. It says that they are not worthy to observe an individual but only through the consent of an entire nation so isn't Ten an entire nation?
R. Yes a Ten is the consent of 10 people to be connected like an entire nation.
S. I'm beginning to understand why he continues until they come out of Egypt. What does it mean when a person studies the Torah we are learning now in the Ten that we come out of Egypt what does that mean?
R. We do receive the permission to come out because we have a certain degree of connection suitable for an entire Ten and entire nation as we call it, and if we connect correctly we can come out from an order to receive from Egypt.
S. Then he says we become worthy of observing it. Meaning that if we are in Tens we are worthy of studying Torah.
R. Maybe we can become connected to one another through various forms of mutual bestowal and then the upper light will be able to clothe in us according to the equivalence of form between the light and the vessel and then we will understand from it the light that clothes in us according to the shape of the Kli . The Kli assumes the shape in the form of the light so there will be a connection and unity between them. Then within the vessel it seemingly sculpts the vessel and arranges it so that we are beginning to become as clay in the hand of the maker and from that we are able to understand the desire of the Creator, what he wants from us, what he does with us and we will work together, as clay in the hands of the maker.
S. Okay so he says then each and everyone from the nation agrees to this Mitzvah, what does it mean to be an agreement in the Ten?
R. It means that each one of us would want to be as a vessel in the hands of the Creator so the Creator would do whatever he wants with it and so together all of us come to a state of connection.
S. Then we come out of Egypt?
R. Yes, then our will to receive doesn't control us but rather the Creator controls us
S. Thank you.
4. S. (07:24) It's written here that you cannot love the others alone, you cannot love that friend alone but you need support and agreement from everyone, on the other hand we study that I don't need to demand anything from the friends. I need to love them myself so how do we work correctly? Do I need something from them or not?
R. You need to show them what it means to love the friends and they will learn from it, that's how it works.
5. S. (08:10) We understand from this excerpt that there are degrees of separation that I can overcome from my nature and that the degrees of separation above that I need to overcome?
R. Certainly in order to correct even the tiniest part of the vessel you need the upper light called Torah.
S. There are people that I love from within my reason?
R. This is irrelevant. The fact that you love them according to your own personal taste has nothing to do with it. Everything has to be against your will to receive.
S. Spiritually, yes meaning the degree of the 4 Patriarchs that didn't need the Torah?
R. Yes.
S. There wasn't such a degree of the impression that they needed the Torah but they needed the Torah only up a degree of separation that was large that they cannot overcome it?
R. Yes of course there is such a thing,
6. S. (09:43) Can we say that the prior agreement is the point in the heart that that too comes from the Creator
R. Of course, why would the will to receive agree to anything?
S. We are in this process that everything that we do now in the Ten is the prior agreement that is the process?
R. Yes, you're in the process, correct.
7. S. (10:23) Continuing the questions from the friends,it always seems that the society needs to agree but it is I who needs to agree with the work of correction right? If I do not see that there are also in that work so what is it considered that we are working together?
R. I agree to belong to the group and to help them with anything possible and they helped me in such a way that we work in one desire as one man. Only in this way will we merit the upper light according to the law of equivalence of form and He will clothe in us and take care of us.
8. S. (11:27) Does The Exodus make the people of Israel a nation?
R. Of course.
S. Is the definition of a nation is not related to quantity but to a process?
R. Yes, the nation that is something that's born today and it suddenly exists. A nation is a process of a group of people who receive from the Creator a certain plan. According to this plan they can arrange themselves in a special connection over a special kind of development and that is how they advance.
S. You started the explanation with that there is a matter here of quantity, there's the matter of the quantity of people here?
R. Yes, a Ten.
9. S. (12:40) What does it mean to be worthy?
R. To be worthy to be suitable to the upper influence.
S. I can only do that if the light influences me?
R. You can do it only after light influences you. That is correct and by that you are ready for it to continue to influence you and arrange you.
S. How is there some action I can do without receiving the light of Torah?
R. There is no such thing.
S. What is the question that he is asking here when the people of Israel are asked this question that they agree to prior to receiving the Torah?
R. Receiving the Torah is special actions the light does to the will to receive to format according to the 613 actions but without it the light works on the will to receive and prepares it for such an agreement
S. What's left from the person to be able to realize the opportunity has been given now?
R. To be suitable for the actions of the light. He needs to connect with the Ten as much as possible and learn the laws of the Ten. He has to be and a certain framework nevertheless
S. After I have entered that framework of a Ten should we have to be in some kind of discussion or agreement? What is this agreement of ours now?
R. That we receive all of the laws of the Ten as they are we need to come every day to the lesson. I don't know how you agree with each other and take care of it and to do all kinds of actions and all kinds of events. Otherwise of course we don't agree to the upper light influencing us and doing for us one Kli.
S. Regarding agreement, we had a discussion about this yesterday that we don't reach a point where we all agree how to reach that point?
R. I guess it's not clear to you what where you're headed. You have to write before you where those conditions are that you wish to accept and if yes write them down and then think are you worthy of it do you merit it or not and then start approaching it.
S. Do you recommend that every Ten would have some kind of contract of agreement between them?
R. We have such a charter for connection. Of course we just don't understand that it exists, we reject it.
10. S. (16:16) What makes the difference between one friend seems to him that he's keeping the laws of connections to attend that's keeping these laws of connection?
What's the difference between a friend in the Ten who is reading about annulment, we read about annulment and he seemingly is working is annulment but where does it become the agreement of the Ten who's working in annulment?
R. Each one of you takes upon himself the annulment, he agrees to it and everyone agrees to it.
S. What's this everyone? How does that happen everyone?
R. They scrutinize it and once every few days they talk and discuss if they're able to do it or not.
S. What to do with the fact that each one feels the annulment that's different?
R. Until the opinion of one friend begins to come closer to the opinion of the other.
S. How does this happen?
R. Talk about it.
S. We do and we see that there are gaps?
R. Gaps in what?
S. In defining annulment.
R. Okay, write it down first of all. Start bringing these things closer and erase what you can erase so it will become similar from one to the next and the third one and then you will see how you are coming closer in your opinions.
S. It seems that there's some definition by Rabash on what annulment is, so we take his definition. How can we now check that each one understands the same?
R. It has to do with connection. so Write down the conditions for connection, what you think that is acceptable by everyone.
S. The conditions are written but the inner contents of the understanding of it and the feeling of it is different.
R. Try to talk about it more and more but not just for the sake of talking about it
11. S. (19:02 ) You mentioned her at least we heard that the feeling is an action but the question that I have is, is a feeling a vessel for the light and the intent something like the screen?
R. Yes ,the feeling is the vessel.
12. S. ( 19:41 ) Yesterday a friend didn't have a chance to ask a question in the lesson so we discussed this question. After the lesson and we actually had a pretty good scrutiny of this question I'm not sure if we answered the question. It was a good connection more than just the answer. The question is, is it good sometimes maybe to hold off on asking you during the lesson and rather discuss it among ourselves and if yes is there some kind of guideline when to ask you or went to take the question to the friends?
R. I cannot teach you this, but you can see for yourself how much you have to debate in order to reach one line, one point of view. To consider all the opinions as one tries to do it, there is no doubt it will help, it will bring you closer and it will correct you more than all of my lessons.
13. S. (21:18) Does mutual responsibility is only between the ones who have the desire for the Creator? How can I be responsible for the whole world?
R. You need to talk about it and how to be connected in one desire ,in one goal and one reason and one cause and what you imagine to receive at the end of this desire after you to realize it and how to realize that to yourselves and what do you lack from the Creator in order to realize it Then you will see what you are missing and from that you will pray together what exactly should you pray for and that is how you will advance towards the realization and the fulfillment.
14. S. (22:41 Should I receive from friends or should I give to my friends my best?
R. It depends on your level and your degree. In the beginning you wish to receive from them in return but later like a mother towards her baby she needs nothing in return only for the baby to be healthy and to grow up. That has to do with the relationship between you and the group, you need to talk about it and it will work itself out.
15. S. (23:36) According to the article doesn't it mean that before we connect in the Ten we have been sleeping and after we've been connected and make this and after all the stages we reach some degree of a higher degree of connection to be rewarded with the giving of the Torah?
R. It's all correct except I don't think you understand what you asked, receiving of the Torah it all sounds a bit disconnected.
S. When we make a covenant then it means that we go through all of the stages of spiritual development then it means that we are not yet ready to receive the Torah. We need to go through all the stages where we are not yet worthy of receiving the Torah? DId I correctly understand that?
R. Yes the important thing is the connection you develop between you.
16. S. (24:51) Is that my personal responsibility to the nations of the world?
R. Yes.
